Unique dining with Chef Koa’s incredible alchemy of mixing seasonal local Gironde products with some of his cameroonese background: every spice sublimes the products and gives wonderful kicks and twists. Plus of course the spectacle of the famous pressoir, crushing lobster shells to extract their juice. The location is beautiful, facing the Opera, and the service is just perfect, from somelier to maitre d’hôtel. I will definitely come back again

Dining at Le Pressoir d’Argent was a truly unique experience that we will remember for a long time. Each dish followed the next in perfect harmony, taking the palate on an extraordinary journey of flavours. The combination of the finest ingredients from around the world with the creativity and finesse of the Chef created an unforgettable culinary experience. The staff was exceptionally courteous and attentive, always ready to guide us through this remarkable gastronomic adventure.

Simply put, one of the best meals I've ever consumed. We opted for the 7 Course Heritage and added the Lobster course (we wanted to see the lobster press) and wine pairing. Courses and presentations were fabulous as was the service. It will be banked as an experiential memory that shall not fade.

I can't help wanting to find fault with any restaurant that has Gordon Ramsay in the name. His profile and persona simply drives you to a base and naughty need to want to find sonething wrong, and so, last night we arrived in hypercritical mode to identify the weaknesses in this famous restaurant. And what did we find? Faultless, elegant, relaxed service, with a menu that must surely be ready for its 3rd 🌟. Everything was note perfect, from the surprises and amuses, to the Origins menu that we chose, and the theatrical lobster nonsense with the eponumous presoir which was glorious in its daftness, but produced two mid meal courses of such assured perfection that we almost wanted them to do it again. The references to Cameroon and the ingredients sourced by the chef Alxeandre Choa gave this menu a distinctive note with vanilla notes and espelette pepper appear in unexpected places. The oysters with beef opened with a mix of meaty crunch and pure sea flavours that had us both smiling, the sommelier paired each course with thoughtful explanations and we travelled sputh west France with his ideas. The snail dish with its crispy disc on top was as unique as Blumenthal's famous porridge, but oh so much better! The pork was served alongside a potato and an African inspired sauce that nodded to the "soups" of Africa served with a starch, and the deserts were exceptional, the lightness if the baba dish and the magic of the chocolate had us sharing. The crew were brilliant, we met Alexandre as we left, and have a signed menu by the entire brigade to add to our collection. As perfect a meal as we have had anywhere, so the only negative? It has clearly been the victim of a Michelin error, because this restaurant is unambiguous a 3 Star experience in every way. Thank you.

4.4 / 5.0 - Unique experience well worth having Overall a very unique and fun experience in the heart of Bordeaux. We certainly left completely full and satisfied after a lengthy (nearly 4 hours) meal, which was more of an experience. From the time you enter until the time you leave the level of service is truly remarkable. Oddly, almost too remarkable. Every meal was delivered by 4 or 5 people with perfect timing of delivery. The restaurant was a buzz with fast moving staff swarming like bees. The staff were very professional. All of this was nice in one way and felt so formal and corporate in another. Getting a staff member to crack a smile or laugh was hard, as they were focused on their serious business. At one point a dish was taken too early because they swept in so quickly we couldn't say we weren't done. The food overall was excellent with a few exceptions. All of the extra food at the beginning, end and bread was more than you could need on top of 7 or 8 courses. The presentations were truly the star of the show. The price was more than fair for the quality of food, level of service, and beautiful setting. I didn't think the lobster press was very worth it. First of all it adds 15-20 minutes more to your experience, which is already very long. It's an interesting tale but ultimately it's a squeeze of lobster juice and a little underwhelming. For 70 euro more you really don't need an 8th course for the evening. It's so much food eventually you're just overwhelmed and stuffed and start to lose how amazing it all is. Some of the reasons why I wouldn't give this 5 stars; While the service is more than ample it's actually too much, too fast, too much of a buzz. It misses a warmth and calm and creates a production environment. Dessert was a disappointment despite two courses. First one was a Baba which just isn't special enough and the second one a black garlic chocolate, which was just too odd to not hit the mark. Finally, it's highly unlike Gordon Ramsay has much, if any, involvement in the restaurant and really just uses his name. Glad I had the experience and would recommend it to others, I just wouldn't rush back and do it again.

We had the 5 course tasting menu with the lobster added on as a 6th course and the wine accompanies. In reality we had about 10 courses if you count the amuse-bouches, cheese course and pallet cleansers. Absolutely amazing, lived up to all the hype. Food and drinks where incredible, easily the best meal I have had! But what really made it special was the service- the staff where all so attentive. They even carried our drinks out to the smoking area on a silver tray. This restaurant has really considered every part of the dining experience and we will be back to try more of their amazing food when we visit Bordeaux again!

I would definitely dine here again, but might stick to the regular menu without wine pairings. While the food was amazing and the service exceptional, I was a little disappointed in the promises made for the Anniversary Dinner (behind the scenes kitchen tour, tasty treat to take home and signed keepsake menu). There was nothing offered at the dinner and when I asked, they said they weren't didn't the tours everyday and did offer me the other two items, which was a paper printed signed menu and spices in a jar. Honestly, I'm not even sure I'm allowed to take the spices home on the plane but we'll see. But I would not call spices a "tasty treat to take home." It also wasn't clear that the wine pairing wasn't part of the cost for the dinner. But that's no big deal, except the $300 dinner turned into a $500 dinner pp. We still very much enjoyed every one of the 7 food courses and wines, plus there were several surprise courses. The bread and butter was delicious too.

Gordon Ramsay did not disappoint! 2 Michelin Stars is definitely well deserved! Impeccable service, amazing presentation, great food. The cheese cart with the amazing array of yummy cheeses to choose, yes please. Their namesake is one of only a few in existence and very rare lobster press that squirts out all the juices that is used to make the sauce in the lobby dish. It was excellent. The cheese dessert was awesome! Definite worth the trip to Bordeaux!

Food was really good (as should be expected from a 2 star Michelin rated restaurant). Deducted one star because they coyly offered a $45/person cheese plate (not included in the prix fix menu) and the wine pairing. Should either include with the already expensive price or be upfront about the extra cost of the cheese plate (which wasn't worth the thin slices of cheese they gave us). Otherwise, service was amazing and worth the trip for our special anniversary dinner.

Probably the best restaurant out of ALL 100+ or so restaurants we visited during our France vacation (including 8+ other Michelin starred establishments). Well really a tie- but Paul Bucose, while excellent, has nostalgia going for it... Neither of us like Gordon Ramsey- not even a little bit. I mean, since when do Brits make great food anyway, ya know? But, alas, every single aspect of this restaurant was Perfect, and that's "Perfect" with a big 'ol capital "P". We were the first to arrive. The dining room... grand and formal and wonderful. It's modern elegance personified- not stuffy or old fashioned at all. Even better, the tables are so far apart it's like dining in your own mansion's dining room. And the service- it's like watching the ballet. Coordinated and responsive, without being overly formal or overtly casual. Your food appears and then the servers fade into the background. Then they suddenly appear again when you need them, only to disapparate once again when you don't. And finally the food... as I'm sure you know the menu changes with the season. But we almost- almost- ordered a second foie gras. If you're lucky this app will still be available when you're there. The other dishes were also executed perfectly- even if they were not overwhelmingly creative. I never say this (because it's stupid) but if I could give this restaurant another star I surely would... Be sure to go (and don't forget your wallet- perfection comes at a cost :)...

The wife and I had occasion to have dinner here during a recent visit to Bordeaux. Given that this is a Michelin two star restaurant, we expected an above average dining experience, and Gordon Ramsay didn't disappoint. Food and service were top notch, and the ambiance was first rate. Dinner here is not an inexpensive occasion, but given the quality of our meal, I have no complaints about the price tag for our dinner out. Next time we're back in Bordeaux, we will likely try to visit again.

This is the best restaurant service I have ever received. Put it on your bucket list! Someone said it was like dining at a mansion and I agree. Dining time was 3+ hrs and the food was above average. I went with the a la carte option and chose the lobster for my entree, it was was underwhelming. But keep in mind that my standard for lobsters is up there . The foie gras albeit a small portion was very tasty. Overall, it was worth the experience. Set me back a few hundred euros tho haha.

At first, I was a little skeptical because I wasn't quite sure what Gordon Ramsay was doing with a restaurant in Bordeaux, but I guess he helped design the menu. In addition, he's the source of this famous silver lobster press that the restaurant is named after (only 6 exist in the world). Normally, I would do the tasting menu, but the signature lobster dish using the pressoir de argent was a la carte, so we ordered a la carte. They had a good number of wines by the glass, which was a little more unusual than at some of the other higher end places, so we took advantage of this to try more by the glass. They ranged from €18-160, but most were in the €20-50 range. Wines we tried - - NV Bereche et Fils Brut reserve to start - 2000 Saint Julien from Sarget de Gruaud Larose - 2011 Volnay from Domaine Jean Marc Boillot - our favorite from the night - 2014 St. Joseph Amuses: - Salmon and caviar - Lobster and apple tart (because I don't like foie gras) - Foie gras tart - the standard one - Warm pata negra wrapped around cream cheese Bread service: 4 to choose from. I went with the baguette (my favorite), the focaccia (not like a traditional Ligurian focaccia), and one made with beer. Next amuse: Fresh goat cheese with organic vegetables and croutons - this was basically a salad course. The vegetables were super fresh/ Starters: - Confit organic egg: a soft cooked runny egg with cep, ham, pork belly, smoked chestnuts, and an onion velouté. This was great for dipping using the baguette - Saint-Jean-de-Luz spider crab: with avocado, pomelo, coriander, radishes and citrus dressing. The avocado slices were arranged really beautifully and required some major knife skills. This was a much lighter starter Mains: - Lobster: from the 'press' cooked with lemon grass, sweetcorn, zucchini. It's wheeled over on a cart, and the lobster is in a stone pot still steaming. The shells, lemongrass, and some other herbs get pressed to create the lobster jus for the sauce. Then they reduce the sauce tableside, and it has really intense lobster flavor. The lobster tail and claw are then taken out of the shell and plated for you, with the sauce poured on top. After, they also bring a lobster consommé with verbena. As it infused more, it had almost a bit of Tom yum flavor. This was a nice clean broth to offset the richness of the lobster dish - Roasted veal, cep filled macaronis, artichoke, garlic and parsley. This is your more traditional dish with an intense meat jus reduction. We then shared 1 portion of cheese from the cart, though the portion was very generous. We recognized many of the cheeses and actually had a good discussion with our server about the cheeses. There were maybe 20-25 cheeses to choose from. At the end, they brought us a special dessert since we were celebrating our honeymoon. Mignardaises - the presentation of these tied in with the amuses, which was a nice way to round out the service - Coffee ice cream in white chocolate on a lollipop stick - Tarte Tatin - Mango tart with passion fruit When we left, they also gave us a box of madelines to take home, which was a nice final touch. Though the prices on the a la carte menu are on the higher side, you get so much other stuff that comes with the meal and experience. And remember that prices include tax and gratuity (though we added some additional gratuity for the generous cheese course). It's a more traditional old school feel with jackets required and a more formal dining room, but we found the staff to be unpretentious. It's definitely different from the places we typically dine at, but it was a great dining experience and is worth trying if you're looking for a nice dinner in Bordeaux.

This place is truly amazing and worth every penny. You will spend around 500 pp if you take advantage of the tasting menu and wine pairing (highly recommend both!) The only thing to consider if you do the tasting menu- in between entrees and dessert they will bring over cheeses to try that are not included. You will get 6 decent sized hunks of cheeses that are all incredible! However, if you do not finish the cheeses, you cannot taken them with you. My husband and I ate half the plate and would have loved to take home the remainder to finish in the morning but were not permitted. If you are only a couple, I may reconsider the cheese course. It was the only thing about the evening that felt off. Other than that, I would recommend this restaurant highly! The attention to detail, service, and experience were top not

Well what do you expect excellent food, great service well that's what you will get. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. This is a restaurant you go to if you want a once in a lifetime eating experience. You can't fault a thing. The setting was beautiful each plate was presented superbly. Just check out the photos and you decide if it's right for you.

Eating at Le Pressor D'Argent was the culinary highlight for my sister and I. My sister and I decided to be surprised by the tasting menu which includes a variety of dishes from cheese and tomatoes to pigeon, oysters and duck ending with a pre-dessert and dessert followed by a final surprise. We also decided to allow the sommelier to pair the wines with all the dishes - Champagne, Chinon Blanc, 20 year old Tawny Port, gewurztraminer, etc. My sister is vegetarian - the chef catered the menu to her needs. It was just an extraordinary and heavenly experience.

My friend and I had dinner here while staying at the Intercontinental. Service was truy out of this world... every single person was incredibly friendly and helpful. They even modified the amuse bouche for us (my friend is meat eater and I'm a "pescatarian") and made sure we enjoyed everything. The maitre'd was had true old world charm and our main waiter looked like a prince straight out of a fairy tale. We were truly smitten over the service, the presentation (you must, MUST see the presentation for and try the pressed lobster) and every single dish that we had. We left so happy over the entire experience (with a really sweet parting gift - freshly baked Madeleines in a beautiful black box and bag in hand). Definitely will return next time in Bordeaux.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu at this marvelous restaurant. The experience is true French haute cuisine. The menu was an adventure. There were no lulls. The team covered all the bases. The host was kind enough to invite us to the kitchen where we watched the team masterfully orchestrate the meals for the evening. Everyone was very generous and the entire experience was memorable. merci beaucoup!
