The food here is delicious! Even the bread was amazing! I probably will skip the Escargot next time best it was just okay here.. but I would recommend their other dishes. They also have pretty decent wine offerings. I loved their desserts although the portions were miniscule.

I just came back from a delicious meal there. I had the Monkfish special. It was amazing! Escargot was the perfect appetizer. The dessert menu had incredible options. I had the bread pudding and I loved it. Incredible service, great atmosphere. I can't wait to go back.

Ordered a steak, it was a piece of leather. Told the waitress, they offered nothing. French onion soup, and the beef bourguignon had a strange bite, like they were old. Definitely not going back

I was happy but not in love with the escargot, lacked flavor and was too greasy. The pork shank was amazing. lite and flavorful, works rich gravy. I will order it again and again, so worth it. This is an excellent restaurant.. the lavender martini was a bit sloppy but all and all an excellent dining experience.

**Disclaimer ** Usually I'm not a fan of take out because often times food gets too soft and you can't enjoy the same way as if you're in the restaurant.. With that in mind...I wish I had lunch here. However, I placed a large lunch order for my team at work. When I brought the food to the office, I was extremely surprised how well everything was packed. I was even more surprised how tasty and fresh the food was. No saggy or soft food. Everything was delicious! But the star of the day was the Foie Grass.. What a sublime experience! Thanks Mikkie, Next time we'll come in.

In a time when so many restaurants provide seemingly the same, merely acceptable, fare, la Provencal stands out. Its offerings are not so different as to be unfamiliar, but their flavorings offer an interesting change to the standard tastes I've come to expect when dining out.

Tom our server and the rest of the staff were professional, knowledgeable, and wonderful. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Restaurant Week is a perfect time to find a great restaurant. It's easy to take a chance on a $$$ restaurant when you're not paying full price. Le Provencal Bistro is a warm inviting place where the service is exceptional, and the French food is delectable. We started with the Avocado Smoked Salmon, and French meatballs with polenta. Both were very flavorful. For entrees we chose Beef Bourguignon, Coq Au Vin, and John Dory Filet. Each dish was thoroughly enjoyed. Chocolate Mousse topped this luscious lunch off. Le Provencal is definitely on the special occasion list. Next celebration is National Licorice Day . Making my reservation now.

We dined here last week for our anniversary, and while we had a good time overall, the experience was underwhelming. Service started off confusing, with two different people trying to wait on us, though it was eventually sorted out and service was fine after that. The food, however, was disappointing. The foie gras was nearly tasteless, and my husband's onion tart and Crab Louis were nothing special--just a small pie shell with caramelized onions and a plate of crab meat covered in way too much dressing that tasted like bottled French dressing. The beet salad, on the other hand, was very good and well-balanced. I also had the onion soup, which was served with a single crouton that had cheese on it--an odd presentation choice. This was our second visit, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to our first experience. Not terrible, but definitely not memorable.

What a different dining experience on a street filled with amazing eating experiences. The exterior and interior will transport you to a more serene place. Great for brunch or just a good meal. Good food. Great coffee and desserts. The steak, the liver, the pomme frites weee great. Bread pudding dessert was light and fresh. Service is friendly and fast. The ambience is best described as elegant / casual. Come. Sit. Relax. Enjoy.

This spot is a cozy spot for dinner! It's very clean and the servers are very kind and welcoming. I didn't get the name of my server but he was very funny and was very helpful in deciding dishes. I got the Beef Bourguignonne, Lobster Bisque, French Onion Soup, Seafood Risotto, Crème Brûlée and the Bread Pudding. I can't quite remember which cocktail I ordered but it was light and refreshing. It was my first time having Beef Bourguignonne and I enjoyed it very much. The meat was tender and pulled apart so easily and the green beans were nice and crunchy. This would be the dish I'd come back for! The seafood risotto was a generous portion and equally delicious. There were many bits of seafood which I appreciated and the creaminess of the risotto made me want to eat more and more of it. I loved the plating of it as well! The only dish I wasn't the biggest fan of was the lobster bisque. I was expecting it to be creamy but it was very watery. I ended the night with 2 desserts which were the crème brûlée and bread pudding with ice cream. My favorite was the bread pudding. It tasted like a warm cake and pairing it with the ice cream made it all that much tastier. It was the perfect dessert to end the meal. This is a great spot for a romantic date night! Highly recommend you check it out and make your reservations!

Food never disappoints. Service was attentive. we had the duck, mussels and a steak sandwich. All Were good. Onion soup was ok. Drinks at bar ridiculously priced.

Delicious brunch with excellent service and comfortable ambiance. The bloody mary's were also outstanding. Spicey and fresh olives. Not a cheap brunch but the presentation and taste were worth the price of admission.

Had a really enjoyable experience here during restaurant week. We got the escargot, meatballs, and crab cake for appetizers. The garlic butter with the escargot was perfect to dip bread into. The meatballs were probably my least favorite - tasted kind of like meatloaf, but the polenta was nice and everyone else enjoyed the meatball. The crab cake wasn't overly breaded which is really nice. The steak was soooo good. Had that nice char on it, was cooked well, and I had leftovers! I would definitely come back again and recommend to someone else for an enjoyable French restaurant and experience.

I found Le Provencal Bistro adequate. What excited me the most was the interior design of the restaurant. Service was on the slower side but our waiter did apologize for the delay. Our dishes were good, nothing extraordinary or memorable.

Recently I enjoyed the absolutely best Beef Bourguignon at Le Provençal - the best in my entire life. Great service by Ingrid too.

Very good French Bistro. Excellent service and the Mussels, the fish, the duck , and the steak was excellent. A standout: the liver. Reservations are a must for weekends. Maybe skip the escargot, though.

Le Provençal serves up French classics and other fare with the kind of love and balance of flavor that you hope to find at a bistro. Dinner for two and we split an appetizer (the beet salad on special) and each got an entree (beef bourguignonne and the Milanese chicken special) and a extra side of pommes frites (note: these took shoestring fries to a whole other level, they were yummy but not very potato-ey, see photo.) While the beet salad was unremarkable and somewhat small for the $17 price tag, the entrees were absolutely delicious. I was glad to have ordered the extra side, as the entree portions were also on the smaller side, though the food was so rich you wouldn't really want more. We finished the meal with two scoops of sorbet -- one lemon which was average, and one mango which was exceptional -- which came with some fresh strawberries and was the perfect way to finish off the meal. The service was excellent and the experience overall was really enjoyable and makes any occasion feel special. I hope to repeat this experience and hopefully give them a fifth star, but for now, I had to knock it a for a few little reasons. First: while the portion size and prices are not totally unreasonable given the high quality and richness of the food, you do have to order a lot of dishes and therefore spend a lot of money to really enjoy a meal here -- one entree per person is not going to cut it without extra sides and appetizers. Second: the atmosphere, which seems to be striving for intimate and upscale, could have been greatly improved if the lights were on a little less bright. It seemed odd that they had been barely dimmed at 8pm on a Saturday night, but it may have something to do with the mature clientele they seem to be primarily serving here. Third: while I really appreciated the variety of non-alcoholic drink options, I was surprised that my mocktail was tiny, tasted like a melted jolly rancher, and cost about as much as other cocktails with top shelf booze in them. That said, Le Provençal is a really excellent restaurant overall, and I look forward to dining here on future special occasions, hopefully when the weather is a little warmer and the outdoor seating is available!

had two standard menu items beef bourguignon and coq au vin both of which were served luke warm and dry not impressed

This restaurant is unwelcoming and unprofessional. No greeting!! You don't point to a table and say "that is your table." We sat -- finally someone came over to take our drink order. He was not our waiter, but he stepped up. We ordered everything for fear we would have to wait. The food was flavorful / beef bourguignon / not a huge portion. Desserts excellent. Apple tart and crème brûlée. Very dark!! We asked for more candles - the server said, "no!" Just "no." The staff needs training and they need some warmth!

One of our favorite French restaurants. My daughter request to go here for the Foie Gras and chicken breast with goat cheese. I always get the steak frites. Everything is always well prepared and the servers are super friendly and always make us feel welcome. Can be loud and hard to hear so not for important business meetings.

We had dinner here one weekend recently. We were both a bit disappointed in the ordinariness of the food. The Onion Soup was mediocre, the main course was good, but nothing special. Even the dessert - crème boule - disappointed.

A fancy French restaurant in a cozy setting complete with white linens. I didn't expect fine dining of this caliber in a small town such as Mamaroneck. It is walkable through town or about 5 minutes from the train station. Very classic dishes and done to perfection. But on the contrary, their onion soup is somewhat different and it has a lemon scent/taste which completely masks any onion flavor to my liking. I will not order again or recommend. Service is very good and it was pretty busy for lunch. We will repeat when in the area. Enjoy.

Fabulous! Love this place! Adorable place in the very restaurant crowded town of Mamaroneck. Service was spot on and the food was delicious! We had the John Dory which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The Moules "Poulette" Steamed Mussels with pommes frites was nothing short of spectacular and make sure you get some extra bread to soak up that delicious broth. Great desserts and just an overall wonderful experience at this French Mediterranean gem.

Came here for restaurant week. Portions are small. Misleading because the picture on Google from another customer only a week ago had more food on the plate. Feel robbed. Dessert was 3 bites but very good. If you eat a lot, definitely avoid. I'm disappointed because the food was good but not worth it. Service was good.

Had a terrific lunch there. Was there for the first time, and sat outside. It was a sunny day. The tables were set beautifully. To start, I ordered grilled asparagus with the truffle Fried egg on top. My friend had the mesclun salad. The asparagus was perfect, very tender, with a perfectly soft fried egg on top and a hint of truffle and Parmesan. Absolutely delicious. The salad was cold, crisp and delicious with a nice mustard vinaigrette. Very refreshing. For entrées, we got the mussels with the french fries, and the pork shank Provençal. The mussels were incredible with a wonderful broth of leeks and tarragon. I absolutely loved my pork shank, which was in a great red sauce served with a risotto of spring vegetables. It was a masterpiece! For dessert, we both ordered the lemon tart. What can I say! It was superior to any lemon dessert I've ever had! The crust was so buttery and graham crackery and delicious. The lemon curd was tart and perfect. The service was excellent, the employees were extremely polite and nice. Everyone was masked. It was a wonderful lunch experience! I will be back!

Always a good meal, but Christmas Eve dinner really was perfect, mostly due to the impeccable service of our server, Joaquin. My lobster bisque was delicious (and actually lobster bisque, which is hard to find these days), my mussels were great. Joaquin was so kind, and went above and beyond to make us comfortable with small kids, all while while keeping our food and drinks flowing. Thank you for a great Christmas Eve!

Mom and daughter birthday loved the the appetizers today. Delicious as usual. Parking was a little confusing with the parade traffic detours!

For Valentine's day, I arrived with my wife and was stared up and down by the maitre d'. He sat us by the bathroom. I had been to this restaurant several times before with better experiences, but I guess I wore the wrong shoes this time. We waited quite awhile for a food after ordering, to the point that the table behind us who sat down well after us got their food first. Food in general was not satisfying, although it could have been the wait. I have been too turned off since then and haven't gone back.

We tried this restaurant during Hudson Valley restaurant week and we surely enjoyed it. They had ample seating indoor and outdoor as well. You might need to look for street parking ahead of time. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the food. I will surely go back here.

Westchestr's best French restaurant! Delicious and high quality food and a very nice wine selection by the glass and by the bottle. Excellent service. Gets very busy on weekends so better maje a reservation.

Great little French bistro right on the always-bustling Mamaroneck Ave. The $17.95 Two Course Prix-Fixe lunch menu has several options from which to choose (although it should be noted that many of them cost a few dollars extra). My dining companion is gluten-averse and Le Provencal offers many options for those with such restriction. Our server was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. The interior is classic French and very inviting. The back window offers plenty of light. My order from the Prix-Fixe menu was Lobster Bisque with Fresh Basil and Lobster (+ $2) and Organic Chicken Breast au Jus with Goat Cheese, Asparagus, Apple, Walnuts, Mesclun (+ $4). The bisque was a flavorful and had wonderful chunks of lobster. My only complaint would have been that it could stand to have a little more lobster chunks but it was tasty nonetheless. My chicken entree was also tasty and the chicken was remarkably moist. It all felt light yet satisfying. All in all, a great dining experience and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying out other things.

To be clear this is closer to a 4 star restaurant, but a few quirks knocked it down. We have been here a few items in the past, although not for a while and it changed owners since. We read the reviews and while some were off in our opinion, some we agree with. So here is our take: First the atmosphere is very warm and classic French Bistro. our server was a young woman who was very pleasant and overall very knowledgeable of the menu. There were quite a few specials and she rattled them off with ease and was able to answer questions. So service really wasn't an issue at all. Wine List: Here's where I was a bit disappointed. I own a wine shop so when going to a restaurant that specializes in foods of a specific region I like to see a selection of wines that represent the food being served. The list was somewhat limited, with French wines very underrepresented. There were only 2 or 3 Bordeaux, and a few from other regions. The rest of the list was American and Italian. Prices were fair, but a few higher end French options would have been nice. We chose a Margaux that cost around $75 and was good. I would have paid a little more for something a little more special as it was our anniversary, but the wine was enjoyable, even if not a stand out. Food: Another place where I felt they were trying to be French, but went a little askew with some odd items. Such as a Kobe Beef Burger for a Dinner entree (a sandwich just seems out of place at a white tablecloth restaurant IMHO) and a Lobster Pasta dish on the menu. But I guess they want to offer some more options. To start we got warm bread and olive oil. My wife ordered the Onion Soup which was on special. She was a little disappointed as it was extremely thick with onions but not enough soup to balance it. Also it was served in a bowl with some bread in it and a little cheese melted on the bread, as opposed to a crock crusted with cheese. I ordered the Foie Gras. It was a cold Foie Gras. It was delicious. two large slabs Served on french bread with orange marmalade on the side. It was like butter. So I recommend the dish, but just know it is not a cooked Foie Gras. For the mains my wife ordered the Sea Scallops. She enjoyed them, but they were on the small side for Sea Scallops. I ordered the Duck Confit. From the description and a previous reviewer that complained it was not truly a confit, I have to agree. Don't get me wrong, the dish was very good but was more like a braised duck leg in port wine sauce that a true confit. It had their wonderful matchstick fires on the side. Not true Pomme Frites as on the menu but better in my opinion, and worth a side order if not included with the meal. For dessert we had profiteroles and a poached pear. The profiteroles were classically prepared and seemed homemade. Very good! The Poached pear was served with pistachio Sorbet and a chocolate sauce -- similar to the profiteroles. I felt the Chocolate sauce was unnecessary and an odd choice to match with pistachio Sorbet and pear. I would just leave it off as it overpowered the delicate pear. Otherwise it was good. We had Cappuccinos and they were good, but not very hot. So overall we will definitely come back again. We enjoyed the meal. I just feel the menu needs to rework some of the descriptions and perhaps rethink a few ingredients. Also an expanded wine list with more French options would be great.

dinner as always delicious except for one dish...we were served an Onion tart which was not very good.It was a glob of cooked onions served in a pre made sweet shell more suited to a dessert.I have had onion tarts and this one was not up to par. My problem is when I mentioned it to the manager he said they have always served it that way,I doubt it..usually they are a small flat pie with a plain crust..this one had to be broken apart as neither knife nor fork could cut it!The shell was a cookie all and all this is a lovely restaurant which has never failed before on a dish..

I thought French food had to be expensive. Was I ever wrong! The beef stew was marvelous, I cleaned the plate with the best tasting bread ever. Deserts were out of this world. The service was better than in France. Very specious place, feels warm inside like an old glove. Don't miss this place. Frank G

Just took my mom there for her birthday. Some of the best food I've had in a while, but the worse serve I've had in years. We sit down and there is a bottle of vinegar sitting on the table. No butter no olive oil. Wine arrived still no butter or olive oil. I ask for butter and olive oil 7 min later butter arrives no oil. I let it go. Waitress presents the menu and specials. We eat the butter and bread. Appetizers are placed on the table and the bud guy runs away. Need more bread. 7 min later I stand up and flag down the bus guy. Waitress can't be found. 4 min later bread comes. We eat dinner. Delicious. We are obviously down. 11 min after we are done. The waiter comes and clears the plates. At this point we just mad. No one should go to a French restaurant and have bad service. I've work in restaurants for years. No excuse. Great food can't cover up bad service

Well, it didn't remind me of any meal I ever had in France. Chicken was bland, scallops were fishy and cheese selection was poor. The whole place felt very tired. For what it cost, I'll just go to Manhattan next time.

We had dinner here recently, and I was struck at how consistent this restaurant is over the 15? or so years we have been dining here. Even though there have been several ownership changes over the years, we have always been greeted warmly and have never had a bad meal! Cannot say that for many restaurants...Thoughtful wine offerings and tasty desserts!

Came here for a Mother's Day weekend date night, and so glad that we did. The food was exceptional. I had the quinoa appetizer which was a perfect sampling of different vegetarian options, and then I had the salmon for dinner. It was perfectly cooked and the lentils were just so perfectly drenched in the beurre blanc sauce. I had a pot de creme for dessert which was also out of this world.

AMAZING SERVICE! EXCELLENT FOOD! KILLER COCKTAILS! And FANTASTIC AMBIENCE! My friend and I had a great experience from the start- our server greeted us with a warm smile and made the perfect recommendation for my glass of wine and mocktail for my friend who is 8months pregnant..The food from appetizers to dessert were plated elegantly and beautifully paired with balanced flavors..we had the Endive salad with Gorgonzola and walnuts, crab cake with the most delicious beurre blanc sauce, and the steak at poire which was prepared perfectly medium rare:). The ambiance was upscale yet cozy and they did a great job accommodating all Covid safety guidelines...we will DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK SOON!

Like all the French energy Le Provençal brings to Mamaroneck. It's cozy with an almost cool French Bistro flair. Design says French from top to bottom: yellow walls, French doors and windows with that extra country French oomph all over. For a quick second, almost makes you feel like you're in the countryside. Absolutely liked the flowing energy here. Tom, received us warmly and made sure we had a pleasant dinner. Appetizers and main courses were fabulous and cooked to perfection. For me, dinner has to be great, but what rings my bell is a real good Chocolate Dessert. Service was great. However, the table next to ours continuously asked the servers (not once or twice) about whether certain items were "gluten free". To add on to that, the whole dialogue was within earshot- so we heard everything. Call ahead- why don't you and ask all your 50+ necessary dietary questions- especially since tables are at close proximity of each other. I thought it was annoying and disruptive. Please don't think I'm insensitive to anyone's dietary needs, because I'm not, but do call in advance to address your concerns before dinner. Altogether, we will return.

TLDR: Modern twist on French bistro food. I wasn't a fan sadly and don't plan to return. Overall rating: B- Easy last minute OpenTable reservation for Saturday at 7:45pm for 4 people. However, when we got there there were plenty of empty tables. Not sure why OpenTable wasn't showing available tables for earlier timeslots. We were seated quickly. The service was pretty good. I liked that they didn't rush us out when we finished eating. It wasn't super loud or dark. Their decor was standard but cozy. Be aware their entrees seem to stray into modernized and remade version of the classics. My duck confit was definitely NOT that! We received complementary French bread with good olive oil at the beginning. Not the freshest but it was toasted at least. Onto the rest of the food: APPETIZERS: -Escargots Bourguignonne, Garlic, Parsley, Shallot $15: Served out of the shell. So good! It's VERY hot temperature-wise. The butter was practically boiling. Be careful to not burn your tongue. Save some bread to dip into the melted garlicky butter sauce! A+ -Beet salad special: Not sure what the price or exact ingredients are but from what sampled it was delicious. I remember it had roasted beets, goat cheese, walnuts?, orange wedges, greens of some sort, and a balsamic vinaigrette. A -Avocado, Smoked Salmon, Toasted Pistachios, Pistachio Oil, Sea Salt, on Grilled Bread $17: I didn't taste this myself but the person who ordered it enjoyed it. N/A -Country Paté, Niçoise Olives, Cornichons, Mustard, Toasted Country Bread $14: I didn't taste this myself but the person who ordered it enjoyed it. N/A ENTREES: -Duck Confit, Shiitake Mushrooms, French Beans, Port Wine Sauce, Pommes Frites $28: So it's my fault for not reading the description closer, but authentic duck confit does NOT have a port wine sauce! It's basically duck leg/thigh slow roasted in its own fat. If done correctly crispy on the outside with the fat rendered out. I would say this version is closer to a braised duck. The skin was disappointingly not crispy and still quite fatty. I've been to Paris. I know what duck confit is and this was not it! The meat was moist and tasty but definitely nothing like I expected. The French beans were overcooked to me and mushy. The pommes frites were basically very thin crunchy potato matchsticks (even thinner than shoestring potatoes)! Good but again not pomme frites. B+ -Moules "Poulette," Steamed Mussels with Fine Herbs, Pommes Frites $26: Bug portion. I'm not a huge fan of mussels. I tried one and it was very oceanic tasting. I don't think mussels are for me. My friend who ordered it said it was good though! They give you a big bowl for the shells. You'll need to ask for bread if you want to dip it into the sauce. B- -Hanger Steak, Garlic, Rosemary & Thyme, served with Pommes Frites $31: A tad overcooked than medium rare/rare as requested. Good flavor though. Not a huge portion but filling. A- -Kobe Burger, Gruyère Cheese, Brioche Roll, Mesclun, Pommes Allumettes $19: I didn't taste this but the person who ordered it liked it. The Aperol spritz cocktail ($13) was standard. I got the Apple Blossom cocktail ($13) which included vodka, creme de cassis, apple juice, and orange juice. It was definitely on the sweeter side. It was ok but I wouldn't get the Apple Blossom cocktail again. Everyone received pommes allumettes (matchstick potatoes), NOT pommes frites. Everyone (except the burger recipient) received overcooked French Beans. The burger came with a mixed green salad with dressing on the side. The appetizers were good. The entrees and drinks were generally just ok. If you're in the mood for TRADITIONAL French cuisine this is not the place for you. If you like your French food modernized with a twist you'll like this place. I had a decent meal here but I don't see me coming back any time soon.

Last night was actually my second time eating here. First time was for lunch with my mother. This time I came here with my husband for the first night out together since having our first child (1 month old) to celebrate our anniversary. Food is excellent. Atmosphere is cute and charming. I had the arugula salad to start and bronzino special. So delicious. Still thinking about it. My husband had the veal chop. He raved over how tender it was almost like a fillet mignon tender. I tasted it, i can agree and I usually would never touch veal. We will definitely go back. Everyone is super friendly. It was a very good night after being stuck in the house for several weeks.

Came for dinner with friends and was pleasantly surprised! Plenty of seating inside with plenty of interesting menu options. We tried the escargot and lobster salad, which were both different and delicious. I had the Kobe beef burger and friends had scallops and seafood stew special. We all agreed the food was good. Service was friendly and not overbearing. Water was refilled as needed. The food seemed to take a while to come out, but it gave us time to chat and relax. Final bill was about $200 for 3 people so a little on the pricier side but it is a more upscale dining option on Mamaroneck avenue. Would recommend​ for a fancier dinner or if you just want to try something new.

This is a Mamaroneck gem. With the outdoor sitting and the delicious food and wine... feels very European. Service is very good, and attentive. Food is superb and their Malbec is yum!!! You cannot go wrong with anything

Thought the food was good. But very simple for the price . Roasted chicken was simply average . Normal French appetizers. Nice wine list . Nothing knocked me out . Needs more seafood. Courteous staff. Woukd I return . Not really sure I would. If you want to spend about $150 go ahead .

I love coming here. The service is always great the food is fresh and delicious. The peach bellini is a real compliment to their yummy weekend brunch!

This was the best French restaurant I have been to other than two in France...the food was outstanding and so was the service. The veal was to die for. I will definitely come back. Thank you for making my dinner so special. Went back after 1 year away. Pre-ordered veal dish when made reservations. The waitress had it and placed the order. When the chef went to prepare the meal he noticed that the veal did not look good and recommended another dish. We had escargot for an appetizer and duck, shrimp and chicken dinners for entrees. They were all delicious. I still strongly recommend this restaurant. One recommendation for the restaurant would be to add valet parking especially on weekends.
