I have not experienced better service anywhere else. The service was wonderful, the concierge team was absolutely first rate. We are already planning our next trip. Our two bedroom room was very clean and had amazing views of the mountains. 10/10 would stay here again.

Winter review: Wonderful hotel in the heart of the Val d'Isère ski area. You get first access to the ski slopes since the hotel is situated up in the mountains, not in the town area—perfect for those seeking a quiet and peaceful vacation. Shoutout to all the wonderful and helpful staff, especially the team in the ski/snowboard rental and equipment room. Highly recommended! Important note that the hotel is only accessible via Gondola during its operating hours.

Le Refuge is truly magical. For anyone who loves nature/mountains at their best, for anyone who loves skiing or just one of the best hospitality experiences in the world - Le Refuge is for you. They have managed to create a haven of luxury and comforts - a spectacular spa, dining experience and rooms with massive windows, insane views and the best modern amenities in a place that can’t even be reached by foot or vehicles. Truly a refuge from ordinary life. This is not even mentioning that Val d’isere is by far one of the best places to ski as some of the most passionate skiers would agree. Unlike Courchevel or other tourist heavy destinations -30,000 skiers hit the slopes in this town of 900 to seriously ski the incredible slopes. The culture is not pretentious and showing off but down to earth, serious skiing and love for nature. I want to make a special mention of the staff who are all extremely passionate about you having a great experience, I don’t know how Le Refuge finds these amazing folks. From Eliot and Jade the butlers, to Leo and Gabriel (? / the Canadian boy)at the ski room who are full of advice and support to ensure you get the best equipment and ski experience, to Xavier at the restaurant and many others whose names I am missing - it’s an incredible family like team. Le Refuge is now a necessary part of my life - I will keep returning.

Just an amazing place, the staff, the location, the view, the restaurant, all performed over my expectations. I do recommend their rose Sangria while enjoying the view over Val-d'Isère 🤩

This place thrives solely on its prime location—like a life support machine for the most miserable, entitled staff who’d never survive in any slightly less spectacular place. If arrogance were a skill, they would be undisputed world champions. Go here if you feel charitable.

If you're enjoying a leisurely lunch on the terrace or a cozy fireside dinner, the flavors and ambiance make every bite a memorable one. One of the standout features of Le Refuge de Solaise is the ski team in the boot room. They are some of the most helpful and knowledgeable professionals in the Alps, ensuring that your gear is always ready and your skiing experience is seamless. Their warm, welcoming approach and genuine enthusiasm make every morning on the slopes effortless and enjoyable. The rooms was nothing short of spectacular. Overall verdict: The hotel is very well-equipped for a relaxing stay, even for the pickiest travelers. + The entire hotel staff is very professional, polite, and always available to answer inquiries at any time of day. Upon arrival, the reception gives you a small tour of the hotel, the spa, and other facilities, offering you (in our case) a small welcome drink to kick off your stay. + The rooms are quite spacious for two people, well-equipped, and noise-insulated. Overall, they are very private. The bathroom has heated floors, and the shower offers enough space to be comfortable without being squeezed in, as is sometimes the case in similar hotels. + The indoor spa (pool, jacuzzi, and steam sauna) is open 24/7. The gym, while good for cardio, could use some free weights. Yoga and Pilates classes are also available for hotel guests. + Given the position and capacity of the hotel, the restaurant offers a good variety of breakfast pastries, fruit, warm dishes, and beverages. + The common areas are regularly cleaned and well-organized.

*Drinks only review* - fantastic spot accessible by the magic carpet. Real sun trap that definitely has a view that encourages a stop. Didn’t eat here but had a drinks - stunned that for the price there wasn’t service out to the chairs. Coffee was average and champagne servings (by the glass) were meagre at best. Couple this with sliding across the deck in ski boots with the above on a tray means we unfortunately won’t be back.
