"This De Pijp restaurant by chef and restaurateur Jan de Wit somehow manages to feel fancy yet cozy at the same time. Diners can watch as the energetic staff prepares the multi-course, French-inspired menus (with a few global influences) from within the open kitchen. Prepare to be wowed by dishes like mackerel with dashi, asparagus, and scallops St. Jacques or spring vegetable bisque with mussels." - Meredith Bethune

Absolute must visit spot. The two gentlemen running the front of house had perfectly complimenting personalities and are priceless. Cool that many of the chefs also visited with dishes. And the dishes themselves were spectacular in flavor and also works of art. See the photos for yourself. Can't wait to return...

Delicious Michelin star French cuisine presented in a very relaxed atmosphere. Small room means you get lots of attention from the extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fresh ingredients plated well, nice combinations of textures and flavors in each course. The six course menu is not overwhelming or exhausting as some 6/9/12 course Star dinners can be, you get enough to feel satiated but not anywhere near stuffed. Great neighborhood spot.

Super satisfied with this restaurant on so many aspects. I went for a vegetarian menu and the food was delicious. I'm often skeptical of vegetarian menus, but this restaurant definitely broke through that skepticism. Service was great as well in terms of pace and friendliness. Not to forget, the atmosphere is also very cosy, perfect for catching up with someone. Recommended!

A multi-course exercise in flavors and textures. A nicely presented set of mouthwatering morsels of beef, fish, pork, root vegetables, and complemented by a well rounded wine selection. There was a lot of attention to detail with the ingredients, preparation, and plating. Every dish comes with an explanation worth listening to. Highly recommended experience.

In this small restaurant, the very friendly owners are the server and sommelier and in the kitchen there are only three cooks. The food is wonderful and well deserving of the Michelin star, and the wine excellent as well.

Most amazing food. Course after course after course Don’t scrip, choose the 6 course menu. Stunning and not bad value for an exceptional experience. Too good to get the camera out ! Learned a new Dutch word. “Biological” Or in English “Organic” Made me laugh!

We had such a marvelous experience. The food was superb and the staff were charming, warm and passionate. The atmosphere was relaxing. The chef has a love affair with vegetables and I will never look at a beet or a parsnip the same way again. If you want a elegant and artistic meal in a laid back atmosphere this is the place for you.

Yelp
I've been meaning to visit this little restaurant for ages. And was it ever worth the wait (and weight, because oh god, so much foooooooood)! The menu is set before you arrive and for under €80, they advise you via email that it'll be a 2-3 hour eating experience. The meal comes without any wine but the staff here were super helpful and even though it wasn't listed, we were able to get wine by the glass to accompany the meal. Now service was incredible, every single dish came out at exactly the right time. Some were served to us by the wait staff and some were served by the chefs themselves! With 12 dishes in total and a bonus one (the little madeleine which I should have just said no to because I was bursting), the entire meal was a beautiful performance that stunned with every dish. The amount of flavours they managed to squeeze into every dish, was incredible! But the highlight for me was the rhubarb and ice cream. Wafer thin candied rhubarb, poached rhubarb and rhubarb compote with a sprinkling of cucumber relish, artfully plated with a delicate curl of buttercream ice cream; this was a perfect balance of tart and sweet. It was lightly dusted with something that I can't quite remember but honestly, the entire dish was just magic in my mouth! If you're looking for a way to spoil yourself in Amsterdam, this is it! I would advise reservations, stretchy pants and an appetite! 5 stars!

Yelp
We came across Le Restaurant by chance. It is now our favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is excellent and atmosphere is lovely. Most importantly let the owners pair your wine with dinner. As an extra benefit the chairs are very comfortable and the coffee is excellent. If you are in Amsterdam you need to make sure Le Restaurant is where you have one of your dinners.

Yelp
What a place, one of Amsterdam's finest. The food is just perfect with every course just as delicious. From start to finish a great place to have dinner. Personnel is very sophisticated and nice. The interior is very classical which is maybe something you need to be 'okay' with. Would really recommend Le Restaurant. Absolutely worth your money!

Yelp
Good wine, good food, no question.. So, if you're healthy with deep pockets then by all means go and enjoy. If, however, you have a food intolerance that you tell them about during the reservation and in the restaurant and during the conversation with the staff and chefs then better stay away. They'll poison you and charge you a full 300 for two for the privilege... Not a birthday dinner you'll forget.

Yelp
I was traveling on Business from NYC and wanted a good meal and figured id try Le Restaurant. It was 8:30pm when i stopped in. They were busy. In a manner i felt was quite rude, they simply refused to seat me or even look me in the face... They also refused to provide a time when a table would become available. Ouch!! So anyway i left feeling rather humiliated and wandered.... after 10 Minutes i stumbled across THE WHITE ELEPHANT THAI restaurant and had one of the best meals of my TRIP. 5 Stars for the White Elephant!!

Yelp
Absurd. What more can I say, but Le Restaurant Amsterdam delivers, and literally, the chefs deliver the plates to your table. The wine selection is amazing and the 15 bites keeps you guessing and incredibly satisfied. Le Restaurant brings the creativity of a team of food experts to your plate from the food prep, delivery and accompaniment. Go.
