Le Restaurant du Château

A work colleague arranged our night here, and we are so glad he did. The outside looks like an old French Château, while the inside is a bit small they were able to cater for 25 of us with room to spare. The wine list is extensive if a little pricy they do offer a beer, when we visited it was affligem. We had arranged a 3 course meal with two choices per course and everyone enjoyed what they received. They even provide an aperitif drink and selection of small nibbles, after our desert we had coffee or tea and again another selection of small sweet deserts. There was only 3 people and 1 of them was the chef who got a good round of applause, but service was quick and effective. One thing I have never had or seen anywhere before, was the offer of a small sweet lollypop to help cleanse your pallet at the end of the evening. If I knew how and was able to I would certainly go back.

We had such a lovely dinner here with the degustation menu. The cheese buffet was outstanding and we were explained the origin of each cheese which was so lovely. The food was great and so was the choice of wine. The staff was very kind and we will definetly be coming again. Best desserts of our trip!

Very good dining experience and good food.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a meal this amazing. The manager (owner?) spoke English and German in addition to French, and was entertaining, helpful and generally fun. He pulled out a cart of cheese that was the size of a single bed and described in great detail the differences. A tremendous evening!

Food is fantastic, perfect portions and immense difference in tastes. Establishment is in a nice setting. Just a shame that you never know what mood the lady will be in!! Would be 5 stars if we were served with a smile and felt welcome.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch here on Monday en route to Autun. The tables were well spaced. The staff scrupulously followed all the safety protocol but were still very friendly and welcoming.

Excellent meal and service overall, everything perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Nice atmosphere as well, with modern decor against the old stone walls of the castle.
