We love Le Reve for dessert. Finally we tried the dinner on NYE. Excellent service. Hope someone came and refilled our water since our bottle was empty. I agreed with another review that the food doesn’t reflect the price point, both quality and arrangement. My steak was so chewy I had to split them out 6-7 times before I gave up. We paid $300 (2pp) for the meal minus dessert. Quick recommendation: upgrade the silverware, change fries to a steakhouse cut, messed up the service? Comp a drink at least.

Le Rêve is a French bistro and bakery located in the heart of Wauwatosa Village. They serve a range of fairly traditional French dishes such as bouillabaisse, steak au poivre, and branzino, along with classic hors d’oeuvres like escargot, confit canard, and savory crêpes. The appetizers were very good, especially the escargot, which was served in what appeared to be a Provençal or southern French–inspired preparation, with dried tomatoes adding depth of flavor. The puff pastries accompanying the escargot were light and fluffy. For entrées, my wife ordered the steak au poivre with a rich red wine peppercorn sauce, which was quite good and tasted authentic. I had the bouillabaisse, which used salmon and mussels primarily, along with a few shrimp and a piece of scallop. The tomato-based broth was tasty and the overall flavor profile worked, though the individual ingredients were more fine than standout. Desserts were decent as well, though we took them to go. That said, the pricing and overall positioning felt somewhat mismatched. While the ambiance is perfectly acceptable for a neighborhood bistro, it does not quite feel upscale enough to justify menu prices that are comparable to, and in some cases higher than, several James Beard award–winning or nominated restaurants I have visited in Milwaukee and elsewhere, where the overall dining experience is vastly superior. One additional point: although we took our desserts to go, they were added to the final bill and subjected to the automatic 20% gratuity (we were a group of six). I would have preferred the option to close out the meal first and then order dessert separately, but we felt somewhat pressured by our waitress to order desserts before receiving the bill. Overall, it’s a solid place to stop by for drinks and perhaps hors d’oeuvres and/or crêpes, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a full dinner. I’d give it a 3.25 rating, which I’m rounding down to 3.

Take a trip to a Parisian bistro in ‘Tosa! Gorgeous setting in what used to be a bank. Ultra high ceilings (?20 feet?), bustling, bursting with character. Bar seating, tables along wall or second floor tables. If you are really lucky, you will score the front window four top. Delicious food and super cafe au lait (see my picture). I highly recommend the lamb sandwich (seasonal- spring and summer) and the duck confit sandwich (alternates seasons with lamb- fall and winter). Mussels in Pernod also super, accompanied by French bread for dipping. The broth is so flavorful. Desserts are are work of art and taste as good as they look. Paris Brest reliable favorite. Service flawless. Most highly recommend.

I love Le Reve! Incredibly food, quaint atmosphere, and beautiful, delectable desserts! My favorite appetizer is the Brie with honey and soup. I enjoy their cappuccinos and other coffee drinks and for a main entree I like their steak sandwich and the Niçoise salad with salmon. My favorite dessert is the chocolate mousse but no matter which dessert you choose, you and go wrong.

Le Reve is the typical place where you go for good food and pastry, but the staff consistently ruins it for you. We went for lunch. Waited for 10 minutes for the seating hostess to show up, walking nonchalantly, looking bored. She did not bother to greet us. Not a promising start! We asked for a table for two. She took us to the upper level and wanted to get us seated at a table all the way in the back. There were three other tables of the same size open in the front by the staircase, so I asked her if we could get one instead. She was annoyed but agreed to it. The server came. We ordered the salmon sandwich and the chicken sandwich. The font on the menu was too small and I did not have my vision glasses, so I asked about the ingredients. She made a weird face and responded abruptly "well, all the ingredients are listed in the menu". My son ended up reading them for me. We specifically asked for no bacon on the salmon sandwich and no olive tapernade on the chicken sandwich. The order came the complete opposite. I called for an employee who was visible on the floor and explained what happened, asked to take my salmon plate but that my son would be fine with the chicken sandwich. Our initial server stormed to our table a few seconds later and said abruptly "they gave you the wrong order" and placed the so-called my correct order. I checked the sandwich and it was clearly the same one they had initially brought, they only removed the bacon. I could still smell it. I did not want to make a fuss about it. They simply ruined the experience and I did not want to have any further interaction with such unprofessional and frankly miserable staff. I waited for my son to finish his sandwich and we left.

Wow! So worth the price and experience. Came here for my birthday celebration with friends, and it was a great first time experience. Our server was so nice, friendly and explained items on the menu for us clearly. The food was super delicious, seasoned nicely and tasted fresh. The dessert was the highlight. I tried a lemon tart and it was perfectly balanced with the sourness and sweetness. Definitely would recommend this place.

one of the best restaurants I have been to so far in the Milwaukee area if not the best. The server I wish I had her name was fantastic, smiling and so sweet. We had the french onion soup and it was amazing. One of the best I have had. We also had the Salade Au Prosciutto. it was so good. I had the croque-monsieur was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The bread the cheese the ham I could eat that every day. He had the filet de bouef so good and cooked perfect. My son had the grilled cheese on the kids menu and I had to have a taste. The bread was perfection and the cheese was good and so much I could have that with tomato soup. We will be back again and again and again.

By far one of my favorite brunch, lunch and dinner spots in MKE area. The staff is always so knowledgeable and professional. The food is incredible no matter what you have. The bakery section is so fresh and the perfect end to your meal. Love the atmosphere! They are always busy so I would recommend a reservation!

Very cute and elegant French restaurant with cafe! Came here on a Friday evening while visiting friends. Make a reservation! They had quite the wait time (we were seated by the door so we heard a lot of conversations). Seating is a bit limited throughout, even with the upstairs dining area. Felt a little cramped I also suggest brushing up on your French before you arrive (the names of the dishes are in French on the menu). We got a salad as our starter to split between 4 people and it was perfect. Highly recommend the salmon and treating yourself to a tasty dessert. TIP: snag your dessert before you dine! Many people don't dine & just come in to order the pastries. Dress code: business casual + date night attire Parking: Street (there was a festival downtown so we got dropped off)

Here's what went well: pasta dishes, service, location and the desserts are absolutely a 10/10. Not so well: We have had to send proteins (lamb and steak) back TWO times when visiting, and the steak we sent back, the manager unfortunately actually argued with my husband about the cook of the steak, claiming they couldn't achieve the cook he desired because they sous vide their steaks... Because of this I would still eat here again, just order accordingly.

Le Reve is one of the best brunch/lunch spots in Wauwatosa. Everything is of extremely high quality and the portions are perfect. They have a great outdoor patio and the drinks are top notch. Definitely recommend this spot!!!

Date of visit: April 29, 2024 When your boss suggests a celebratory lunch on the clock in the Tosa area, of course you choose Le Reve! I had not been here in years but had been thinking about that brie for far longer than I would frankly care to admit... Thankfully it was just as good as I remembered--if a touch smaller and more expensive than the last time. Service was very good and even included some wet towels for sticky fingers from the brie! My Croque Madame was very good and while the fries were not my favorite, the aioli that came with them really went a long way towards me scarfing them all down! I also had a mocha that was quite tasty and really perked me up. Of course I snagged a couple sweet treats on the way out for the road, too!

We had a really nice evening at Le Reve. We sat outside and it was absolutely lovely. I started with the escargot that had fire-roasted cherry tomatoes in it, which I was not expecting but were tasty. My husband had the traditional French onion soup. There is a smaller kids' menu with the basics and you can switch out the fries for green beans or fruit for a small upcharge. For dinner I had the duck confit crepe with the red wine Demi glaze and all I can say is YUM! Stuffed with perfectly seasoned duck, cheese, and caramelized shallots. The sauce was so good I asked for more. My husband got the short rib special. It was a pretty large dish with soft mashed potatoes, leaks, and peas. They also have a case filled with traditional French desserts that you won't want to miss out on. The restaurant was busy so service was a little slow, but nothing to complain about because the weather was so nice... no need to rush.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday. It's very cute and quaint inside. We sat upstairs. We started out with some drinks before the food. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory dishes and all of them were great! Our server was very helpful and friendly. It's located in a fun area to explore when you're done. Want to come back to check out the bakery items!

Came here for a nice dinner, and I left excited to come back for their lunch! Dying to try some of their sandwiches and the French onion soup. As far as the dinner goes, we had a nice experience. Small but cute restaurant and excellent service. My only complaint is that I felt like our table was on top of the one next to us. The food was very good though! Tried the charcuterie and the paella. I have had better charcuterie boards, but it was tasty nonetheless. I've never had salmon on a paella before- it was unique and delicious!

Came down to visit a friend and she brought me here for brunch. DELICIOUS!!!! I left so full and satisfied! The food was absolutely amazing with the best service. Everything sounded so delicious on the menu it was hard to choose what to order. In the end I got the Jambon, such a yummy choice. The building was spectacular. I fell in love with the beautiful building. You won't regret coming here!

Last night we had dinner at le Reve last night. Once again, our dinner did not disappoint. Seated upstairs in a cozy corner booth, we started our evening with the LeReve martini for me, and bourbon for my husband. Starters included their mussels in wine sauce with a baguette on the side. If you order nothing else from this menu, take my word for it, I promise you they will be the best mussels you've ever had in your life. I was order an extra baguette on the side. To soak up all the lovely wine sauce. We both also had their French onion soup. Which is heaven in a crock. For our main dinner item, I chose the gnocchi, and my husband chose the sweet potato ravioli. They were both simply amazing. We also ordered dessert to go. One of the best French restaurants in Milwaukee. You will not be disappointed. Our server, I wish I could remember her name, was exceptional. She was joyful, helpful, and just perfection. It is always wonderful to spend an evening here.

I would leave them a lower rating but their patisserie is really good. Service is inconsistent at best. Food is ok but but not great. It took almost 45 minutes to get food and I was in when they first opened. Other tables got food and drinks before my table. Do not go here if you have other plans as you may need to change them. The patissierie is great. The case is lovely and inspired by Paris. The atmosphere is nice if you want to just lounge and people watch.

This place is a gem of long standing& the quality was exactly the same 5 stars!! Everything was very good& we chose four different things!! Will definitely return

I have not been to Le Reve since I was living in Wauwatosa but I'm glad to say this is still a solid spot for all occasions! Me and my mom stopped for some quick drinks and appetizers. We weren't too hungry so we opted for our favorite appetizer of all time- escargot I think they must have changed the recipe since I have been here but I love the idea of a pastry crust! The execution was a little off though. I think the pastry crust was almost too overpowering for the dish and totally covered up the delicious escargot and mushrooms hidden underneath. The garlic butter was lacking a bit as well (I'm a garlic girl so maybe I'm exaggerating). Still a solid dish though! One thing I love about le reve is their pastries! I forget the name but our dessert was a Carmel mousse bar with gold dust and chocolate crunch. INSANE! It wasn't too sweet and the Carmel has the perfect hint of salty that made this the perfect bite. Not pictured were some of their raspberry macaroons as well and those were also to die for! I love that their pastries and desserts are fresh and homemade and you can't definitely tell. Our service was amazing though for a late night, just wish the appetizer stood out more.

Le Reve in Wauwatosa is just awesome. Seriously, from the moment you walk in, you know you're in for a treat. The vibe is cozy and welcoming, and the service is top-notch. Now, onto the food. The Coquille Saint-Jacques is a must-try. The scallops are cooked to perfection, and the sauce is so good you'll want to lick the plate clean. And don't even get me started on the Salade Au Prosciutto--it's fresh, flavorful, and hits the spot every time. But it's not just about the food here; it's the whole experience. They pay attention to the little things, like making sure your wine pairs perfectly with your meal and making every dish look like a work of art. Long story short, if you're in Wauwatosa and you want an excellent meal, Le Reve is the place to go. You won't be disappointed.

The experience of having dinner here was enjoyable, overall. The staff is friendly and I did not wait long for my order. I have been here a few times now. This restaurant features French cuisine with upstairs seating and a selection of desserts in the downstairs area. The only thing to be weary of is the limited space in the building. The upstairs seating is very close together, so you may have to sometimes squeeze between some chairs to get to and from your table. The close-quarters also means the ambiance includes all the customers talking loudly to hear over one another. The food is very good and I had no problem with being in close-quarters for it!

Ambience and decor wise, I loved this little cafe. Truly very cozy and is bustling on the weekends, so it may be challenging to find a table if you have a larger group. I was mildly disappointed with my order. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich. The croissant was wonderfully made and I really enjoyed how fluffy and buttery it was. The rest of the sandwich itself was also good. Unfortunately, the side of potatoes was cold and hard. I had also ordered tea, which came with lukewarm water. Granted, we came toward the end of the brunch service, so this may have contributed, but still disappointing I couldn't enjoy the food more. I think this cafe offers beautiful French pastries and desserts though and I would go back for those!

Enjoy the lovely outdoor patio in the shades, friendly and cozy ambiance, great service and delicious food here. Highly recommend the warm brie on baguette with honey and black pepper and the French onion soup for appetizers. Classic and just good. In our Saturday evening visit, we also got very refreshing soup of the day (a veggie cold soup with crispy golden garlic bread), flavorful mushroom ravioli with juicy grilled shrimp, and yummy and soft scallop crepe. Nothing disappointed us. Our server took good care of us. Then in our Monday lunch visit, we had the roasted lamb sandwich with side salad, chicken cordon bleu with side fries, hot cocoa, mulberry sparkling gin and the best napoleon cake in town. Especially if you are not sure about which cake to get when you look at their fabulous dessert display, get the napoleon! You won't disappoint - the different textures, elegant sweet and sour flavors, and beautiful look - all in one cake. Everything in our lunch was great at a very reasonable price. We had a good time again. Will be back often for sure.

As always the food here is top notch. We had the French onion soup, steak au poivre and fletan (halibut), all were excellent. No room for dessert this time but the pastry case looks incredible. Great service as well. Seated immediately with reservations, a good crowd the night we were there.

If you're well traveled and have experience with French pastry, you may find the pastries here quite average. I got the almond croissant and fruit tart to go. The fruit tart fell apart when I bit it - the crust felt underbaked. The creme patisserie filling also wasn't very smooth. The fruits on top were wilted and not fresh. The almond croissant was dry and didn't have much almond paste inside. The layers were quite tight. This place was just OK to me. Perhaps their savory foods are better as it looked like a popular spot!

Delightful little French place. Good food, and an amazing assortment of French desserts. Love their Coquille St. Jacques and Mussels. Despite having dined there dozens of times pre-pandemic, and having always enjoyed the experiences; I haven't returned since arriving to dine there only to be lambasted by large BLM signs in the front window a few years ago. They have soured my appetite for further supporting an establishment that feels so compelled to thrust such a disgustingly corrupt and disingenuous agenda in patrons faces.

Le Reve is still a favorite of ours. The food is wonderful and there are multiple vegetarian options. Saving room for dessert is a must! Though it gets quite busy, wait staff is always wonderful and kind. I recommend a reservation or preparing for a wait if you come during a busy time. It's a nice area for a walk around town or up toward the park, since they take your number and hold the table for ten minutes after texting you. If you haven't been, Le Reve is always a delight!

I was taken here for my birthday and it was wonderful. The restaurant itself is beautiful and clean; depending where you sit, one might think it's a bit loud but I expect some extra level of noise at a restaurant. Our waitress was perfectly attentive and assessed our needs appropriately; she also gave personal yet objective recommendations when we wondered about the menu. My Italian soda was perfectly sweet, the French onion soup is consistent (so good!), the chicken thigh sandwich we shared was juicy and hot, and the salad we shared was fresh and crisp. The desserts were beautiful and rich. No matter the date or time, make sure you have a reservation. Enjoy!

This place is spectacular! We stopped by La Reve for a late lunch this past Friday. We sat at the bar. I can't remember the bartender's name. But he was super nice and made some great recommendations. We had the prosciutto salad with mixed greens, fennel, figs, orange segments and sliced pears with a lovely vinaigrette dressing. Also, had the tenderloin sandwich with cambozola cheese, caramelized onions with pepper aioli on a fresh crunchy baguette. Definitely a must try dining experience when in the Wauwatosa area. They also have a beautiful selection of pastries.

We had brunch outside. It was lovely. The food, drinks, and service were fantastic. Make sure to get the Crostini de Brie!

A few years ago I came here for breakfast and ate some sort of mushroom/cheese/egg frittata. It was divine. I think about this frittata often. Sometimes I make something similar at home with a yearning for the one at Le Reve because I am too much of a sleeper that I always miss the breakfast hours at Le Reve. I think that the craziest part about me going to feral over a mushroom frittata from Le Reve is the fact that Le Reve is supposed to be known for their pasties not their eggs! I do also think they have a nice small quaint feel to the business. I remember my server being dressed well and very polite to me and my date.

Stopped by Le Reve a few weeks back while wandering downtown tosa. The place was packed but the bar was empty so I grabbed a seat. The bartender was nice but was pretty preoccupied with folks coming in to order pastries to go. The pastry line made things quite tight at times, esp sitting at the bar but this came in waves. Overall the food was good, as was the croissant and cookie. The macadamia cookie was by far my favorite.

Haven't been here for decades and decided to give it another whirl. Reservations recommended so I was lucky to score a spot at lunchtime. Plenty of tables upstairs which was nice and spacious. Smaller Menu so maybe dinner time is different? Scalloped crepes were pretty tasty and savory with a side salad that hit the spot with lots of creamy goodness. Salad was pretty much lettuce with 2 slices of radishes, but the dressing was flavorful. Service was attentive, but could have felt more welcoming. Nice atmosphere. Parking a bit of a hassle in that area as it was raining and it's on a hill. Breakfast entree was plentiful with a delicious choose of croissant and I opted for chocolate which was on point. 2 sausages which were tender, sizable and flavorful. Eggs cooked to perfection and the fruit was so fresh and delicious. Coffee also hit the spot with fresh and robust flavor. Great variety of desserts on the pricey side but they are quite special and delicious.

This is one of our favorite lunch spots near work (fabulous for dinner too). We love the savory crepes, seasonal specials and the delightful dessert options. Service is friendly and efficient. Upstairs is a little loud, but it's still a great place. We will certainly be back!

Le Reve Patisserie and Cafe offers a chic and classic European-style ambiance, creating a delightful dining atmosphere. The French 75 and French Quarter drinks were not only delicious but also beautifully crafted. While the escargot was flavorful, a preference for the pastry to be embedded in the dish was noted, though the overall presentation was impressive. Both the prosciutto and salmon salads were delicious and fresh, and the dessert provided a flavorful finale, leaving a positive impression for a planned return soon.

The food was all delicious and tasty, I just wished the foie gras a thicker slab and the escargot serve in its shell. My entree was the lamb shank which was fall of the bone sumptuous. Service was good. Ambiance cozy and lively.

Reliably delicious and authentically French lunch and dinner menus. The pastries are not my favorite; the tart crusts are rock hard and the fillings are overly sugary. But the cookies, breads and macarons are outstanding.

I have been here before a few years ago and enjoyed it. The food tastes good. I would have given this a higher rating but for several issues I experienced while taking my friend out to lunch for her birthday. 1. I told the hostess my friend had to get back to work but there was a considerable delay. 2. I am allergic (really allergic) to anything with cow's milk but asked if the baguette was safe since I had had it before and was impressed. Much later I was informed it had (cow's) milk and was surprised since this is not a usual ingredient in a French baguette. So, I did not get it. 3. When we ordered I checked to see if I could get a petit (small) saumon (salmon) salad and was told I could. I was served with a regulaire (large) and charged for it. I ate it but it was not what I wanted since I am trying to lose weight. I was surprised at its size and asked. I do not understand why I had to pay for something I really did not want. 4. My friend was never wished happy birthday or treated as special. I would not recommend this restaurant.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in or around Wauwatosa. Let me start with the best part, desserts! Their desserts are amazing. Not only in taste, but in presentation. My favorites include the opera torte and the chocolate caramel tart. I will stop in a couple times a year just to have a cup of coffee and one of my favorite desserts at the bar counter. Their lunch and dinner menu is always good but I wish they had a little more variety sometimes. I highly recommend any of their fish specials as well as the moules frites au pernod!

Sadly, we have always LOVED Le Rêve but something has changed and it's not for the better. The escargot were teeny tiny and came in pesto like sauce with tomatoes???? The special chicken sandwich of the day was also far more Italian than French and the ingredient quality was sub-par. It was little more than a restaurant roll with a hunk of cheese and some wet grocery store mushrooms. Some of the old standbys on the menu were also just...not as good in quality like was previously sourced. I'm not sure what happened but please bring back whatever chef and whomever was in charge of the ingredient sourcing!

From past dining experiences, I know their dinner and pastries are amazing but this was my first brunch here. I was all set to get their jambon eggs Benedict, ham & brie on a croissant with hollandaise sauce sounded so good. Then the server told us the specials and I had to pivot. They had a breakfast sandwich on focaccia with ham, goat cheese and garlic aioli. I chose breakfast potatoes. The sandwich was delicious and I loved the little potatoes. The coffee was also very good. They serve Anondyne coffee. Our server was so friendly, genuinely seemed to enjoy her job, and offered to split checks. Definitely adding them to our breakfast rotation, bonus they take reservations!

A great place for some authentic French dining experience! We went for lunch and desserts. Pastries get 5 starts, and the food gets 4. I only got to taste the macaroons and the French baguette, but I'm going off a friend's review that all the pastry/dessert items are top notch. She lived in France for years and took home some $50 of desserts after lunch. That says it all. So I trust her and give them 5 stars on the desserts. The baguette was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with warm puffs of air with every bite. The macaroons were amazing, but to be honest, they were not better than the ones from Shorewood's North Shore Boulangerie... On to the food. Oh, and I didn't quite realize from looking up the pictures on yelp before we arrived, but they have a bigger dining area upstairs, so what you see when you enter is not all. Plenty of room for a nice dinner. Confit de canard crepe The crepe was delicious, but personally, I wasn't wowed by the duck confit. It might be just me - I've not had it much to begin with, so I may just not like duck confit in general. I like duck - but more the Peking style. Filet de Boeuf with fries Both the fries and the sandwich was great. If you're into large portions, don't think you'll get it here. But again, the bread was flawless, but the beef itself was a bit lacking in taste. Crostini de Brie Basically baguettes topped with brie and toasted. Ooh, they had some good brie and I've already raved about their baguette. Moules marniere Mussels in sauce - true French style and quite amazing. Overall, the breads and the appetizers were top notch, but the entrees themselves were somewhat lacking personally. I would like to try their dinner menu before giving up on the dining experience though.

I know what you're thinking regarding the one star review for a restaurant that serves excellent food and fabulous bakery. So what gives? A friend treated me for my birthday and made reservations for the table on the main floor by the window. It happens to be the only one at the window. She arrived before me and expected that table. She was told that a man called sometime after her, and insisted that he wanted that table even though my friend had reserved it earlier. So what did Le Reve do? They cancelled her reservation and gave in to a bully. I'll bet he's pulled that forever, probably starting at 3 years old so he could get what he wanted. As for Le Reve, they gave in to an obnoxious person. Is that okay? No, I don't think so. She was then led to a table in the middle of the upper room. It was very noisy up there and so our conversations were deeply affected as we could barely hear the wait staff. What happened is just plain bad business.

Enjoyed dinner at Le Reve! We came in on a very busy Saturday night with a reservation. The interior was cute and we were taken to the upstairs seating area. There were multiple large groups dining and tight seating so it was pretty loud. I ordered the French onion soup and the ravioli with the duck confit. There was a bit of a wait for our food to come but they eventually came and were delicious with lots of flavor. The French onion soup was cheesy and salty. The ravioli was sweet with a savory creamy sauce. The pecans and figs were a nice touch for texture and flavor. The service was good as well and our waitress informed us that the desserts get sold out quickly so she could put any orders aside for us which was helpful. I had the Napolean dessert to go and it was on the sweeter side but very tasty. Will definitely go back to try the other dishes!

I'm not sure what I can say that every glowing review hasn't already said and it's all true. I've been coming here for years and nothing in the food, atmosphere or service has ever disappointed. Today was the first time I didn't dive into a crock of the always phenomenal Baked French Onion soup but opted for the Clam Chowder instead. I'm so glad I did- it was outstanding. It was light, creamy but not thick, with meaty clams, celery, potatoes and seasoned perfectly. My friend and I both order the same thing: Coquilles Saint-Jacques otherwise known as crepes with day boat scallops, braised leeks, and a citrus brown butter sauce served along side a mixed greens salad that was tossed in a light Dijon based dressing. Both were outstanding on their own but put them together for a perfectly composed bite. Wow! For dessert we treated ourselves to a cappuccino and macarons- although each of them were glorious in their own right- it was the hazelnut that stole my heart. Le Reve and everything they have to offer, never disappoint. I can't wait to come back.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and finally made it in for lunch. I had the French onion soup which was the best I've had. I was sad to finish it and will be thinking about it until I can make it back for more. I also split the Brie and fig sandwich with pommes frites. The sandwich and frites were delicious. For dessert I had a caramel/chocolate/mousse dessert. Very good, light and tasty. Service was great as was the atmosphere. Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee!

What a gem! I had been here a few years ago for brunch and remember thinking that the restaurant was a great atmosphere, but going for dinner this past weekend really cemented that thought and so much more. My wife and I sat outside and although the weather was a little rainy, we still enjoyed our meal (under large umbrella so we were dry). I had one of the best fillet mignon I've had in recent memory and my wife's salmon was cooked perfectly. Honestly my mouth is watering just thinking about both items, especially my steak. The staff was friendly and helpful, both with serving us as well as helping us stay dry. I am looking forward to finding a reason to go back soon, I think I may try something else but very likely I'll just order the steak again!

I moved to Tosa right as the pandemic struck, but Le Reve has been on my MUST TRY list for the entire time. Why did it take me so long to get there? I wish there were better reasons, because this place is great. I finally got there for brunch with my BF. Bruch is on Saturdays. If it was also on Sunday, I'd be here a lot. We were seated upstairs against the kitchen area. Not the best seats in the house, but the whole space is charming. Service was attentive and professional. We split the mushroom crepe, which was excellent. It was mushroom forward with enough cheese and a thin base, served open faced. We also split a salmon spread toast special. Also extremely tasty and fresh with good flavor and no fishiness. The orange juice was fresh and felt like a treat. I'll be back to try that pastry case, which looks exquisite, and to try more meal for sure.

One of my favorite restaurants in Wauwatosa! Delicious and authentic french food, amazing cocktail/wine selection and attentive service. We come for date night often and always leave happy!

From the charming interior to the amazing pastries to the delicious entrees and cocktails--Le Reve has it all. I've been to Le Reve on a few occasions now and have had a superlative experience each and every time. Most recently we came for a post holiday dinner in a group of five. We made reservations (highly recommended) and were seated in their upstairs seating area. The dining room is all exposed brick, low lit coziness. From several dining experiences here, for me, the standout menu items are their filet mignon (melt in your mouth tender) as well as their gnocchi (so flavorful!). We enjoyed a cheese plate to start things off and found that to be outstanding as well. While their wine list is notable, I also have to mention their cocktails. I love their barrel aged Manhattan. Manhattans are one of my favorite cocktails and there's is so well done. That said, the cocktail that I simply can't get enough of is their Vieux Carrè. Made with Whistlepig rye and top notch cognac, this is a cocktail to linger over and enjoy. Of course, you'd be missing the whole dang point if you didn't leave room for dessert. Order literally anything from their pastry case. It's all impeccably done and pure deliciousness. In my recent visit, I particularly enjoyed their gingerbread macaron. The prices are reasonable for a fine dining experience. This is a wonderful spot for a date, dinner with a friend, or with a group. In the warmer months, they have sidewalk seating outdoors. Get to it!
