Le Rhin Bleu

Great place with a beautiful view of the Rhin. I was there for a drink and then dinner, the service was great and the food was very good. You can sit on the terrace and enjoy the sun and the beautiful Rhin, but you could also relax and take a swim on the river since the terrace offers direct access to it through stairs. Very nice!

The restaurant had a nice ambience and was very family-friendly. Although the menu was limited, it offered options to suit different preferences. The food was okay, but nothing particularly special. The asparagus was a bit soggy, and the pasta lacked flavor. However, the calamari was excellent. Crispy, tender, and well-seasoned!

had a decent early dinner at this restaurant. We ordered these, and they were good. Honestly, there was nothing special about our food, but what I loved the most were the location, ambiance, and view of the Rhine River. Even Basel unlike other cities is not that much oriented towards the river it defines, there are some nice spots along the rather unwelcoming riverside. Especially recommendable is the Rhin Bleu. Not only is staff talking to you mostly in betraying french (and can switch to German or English immediately if you struggle), but the spot opposite the Roche towers with a view up the Rhein that is presenting here already as a majestic river, you can spend here a wonderful evening either with some drinks in cosy pool chairs or at the bar or have a nice meal at a tables which seem to float on the water. As the starter and the desert were really delightful, I was a little disappointed by the Burger I choose as main course. But the very friendly and attentive service are what made it a special evening. Even after it started to poor and the scenery was regularly enriched by lightening and thunder.

Terrific Rhine-side restaurant with laid-back atmosphere. Nice views of the Rhine. Service is exceptional. I have always enjoyed our experiences. We always bring visitors for a lovely lunch or dinner. Never disappointed. Thanks to the staff!

We were dining there (5 pax) - it was very delicious - also the first course and the sweet dishes were a delight. Good service, good wine, very nice view.

Location, location, location? That would be way to short sighted, with this wonderful restaurant. The location, hovering over the father Rhine (Vater Rhein), including the rather unique possibility to swim in a major river, is by fahr not the only highlight, here on this wooden theater stage. The well orchestrated service, which is charming mix of different nationalities, and a lot of humor. The excellent food, a choice of good wines, matching the Spanish and Portuguese influenced kitchen offerings, makes it a well deserved treat for a unimaginable sun-set dinner. If your mood is more for lounging, bar style of hanging out, you guessed it, there is this choice as well. Don’t forget to reserve in advance, although the service tries to accommodate everyone, but there are limits to the seating.

Great place for nice drinks jn a sunny day. Loved to swim from there to the Rhine.
