Le Rose-Marie

I was at Le Rose-Marie for my friend's 40th birthday that his wife organized. We had a group menu since we were a group of about 20 people. The group menu was a 3 course meal. For Entrée, I chose the beef carpaccio, parmesan, lemon. The size of the Entrée was good and it was very tasty. My Main meal was red wine sauce braised beef cheeks with potato puree and parsnip. The portion was a little bit small but it's to be expected when you have a group set up menu but the flavors and the taste were on point. The meat was tender and the potato puree was well seasoned. For dessert I had the olive oil lemon cake with fruit coulis. It looked very ordinary, nothing fancy but it was one of the best lemon cakes that I had. It was very fluffy and tasty. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. We had to let my friend know our food choices days before the diner. She also made custom little signs with our names. Which helps the waiters a lot when came time to serve the food. I was there earlier to help set up the decorations for the surprise diner. Since the moment I got there until the end, the employees were very friendly. The service was well synchronized between the waiters and the kitchen. Everybody had their plates at almost the same time. The flow of bringing the 3 course meals was perfect. Enough time between plates to have conversations and eating at the same time. Nothing felt rushed which a lot of us noticed. Usually with large groups, it feels rushed or some tables don't receive their food on time but not at Le Rose-Marie. Our experience was extremely positive. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you have a large group! Give this comment a thumbs up, if my review helped you!

Delicious!!! Do yourself a favor and take your sweetheart here for dinner and drinks. The fresh pasta was perfect, the pate was divine. All we tried, we loved. Literally had to ask for a second course of bread for sopping, so that none of the leftover sauces were wasted on the plates. Loved the decor, which created an intimate atmosphere for our small group. Honestly, it was one of the best meals I've had in ages. Support Le Rose-Marie. You don't want to lose this gem.

We had a large group (18 people) and had arranged a set menu ahead of our experience. While the food was well prepared and delicious - service was abysmal. We had one waiter assigned to our group - who was also working a few other tables and behind the bar. It took 45 minutes to get our first drink order in… let that sink in, for over an hour half our group sat with just a glass of water. The abysmal service didn’t stop there, after multiple attempts of bringing up the delays to the staff, absolutely zero attempts were made to remediate the situation. We arrived promptly to our reservation at 8pm, our first course didn’t come out until 930. The icing on the cake, the server got quite upset when I told him that i wasn’t going to tip him 20% (2k + bill). I gave him 10% for his hard work (he was trying his best) but I would fully expect a group of our size who had prearranged an event like this would have more than 1 server… stay far away for large groups

Innovative turn on traditional dishes, desserts excluded. The Parmesan “crème brûlée” was exquisite. Very good execution with fresh produce. Excellent service and such a warm atmosphere. Good choice of wines.

Cannot speak highly enough of this place. Definitely our new favourite place in Montreal. The food was exquisite, interesting flavours, unique combinations, hand made ingredients, and reasonably generous proportions for cost. Food is plated in traditional Italian style meaning you should order both a secondi and primari in order to have a filling meal but prices make this a reasonable expectation. Despite being overwhelmed with a large group staff was exceptionally responsive and dedicated ensuring we were looked after and had a lovely time. Special shout out to Gabrielle for doing such a great job. Heavily recommend this place if you have the time

The food was good. Some creative dishes. You could enjoy food there without spending a lot of you want, or put together a 5 course meal. The flexibility was nice.

Had a very nice time at le Rose-Marie ! First of all the place is beautiful, such a cute terasse in a quiet setting. Second the staff is super nice and friendly from the moment you step in til when you leave. The food was delicious and the wine selection super interesting. I was happy to thank the team verbally for the great service in addition to the well deserved gratuity!

The drinks were well made and very tasty. The food was fresh, the bread was good and the ambiance was nice. The waiter was very receptive and accommodating. It is an Instagram-able place in my opinion, very Parisian type of aesthetic. I’m taking one star off because I left with an empty stomach and wallet. I’m just sad that I still had to go home and eat a bit when I spent so much money. The dishes didn’t come as we expected them to, they were exactly as it described on the menu but we expected a bit more substance for the price they were asking. But I wouldn’t go back, my wallet can not support another visit. I may just be a poor student but if you have the money then go for it!
