I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Le Rossignol in Lausanne, Switzerland.
A charming, cosy restaurant just south east of the Federal Court district.
The interior is intimate, with only a few tables, nicely decorated and featuring some tasteful artwork. The owner is genuinely warm and welcoming, which immediately sets a positive tone.
I tried a game-themed menu, starting with ravioli filled with game meat, served with a sauce full of depth and character. For the main course, the venison was beautifully prepared, accompanied by refined, melt-in-the-mouth sides. I finished with a pear and chocolate dessert, a perfect ending to an excellent meal.
The atmosphere was lively and memorable. A group was celebrating a birthday, which brought a festive touch — at one point, music filled the room and some guests even started dancing. It added an unexpected but delightful charm to the evening.
Overall, a cosy spot with excellent food, warm service, and a great ambiance. Highly recommended.
