"Quenelles of pike that melt in the mouth coated in a rich velvety lobster sauce that exalts the fish’s delicate flavour… The house speciality is often indicative of a restaurant’s mindset and philosophy and such is the case of this endearing, homespun, vintage bistro in the heart of La Roche-en-Ardenne. The menu keeps pace with the seasons at bargain prices. The chef, who knows all the ins and outs of traditional French cuisine, rustles up his own generous, gutsy version of Gallic fare here. A feast for connoisseurs of fine French nosh!" - Michelin Inspector
We managed to reserve the last table for two shortly before dinner service, we ordered starter and main and found all dishes to be extraordinary, deliciously prepared honest food.

Fantastic food, wine and service. Our French isn’t very good but we were made very welcome by the very friendly (and patient) owner. After our taxi didn’t show up the staff even got us safely back to our campsite themselves. Would absolutely recommend!

Very nice food although no sufficient vegetarian options. Service was lacking, the man couldn’t handle the whole restaurant on his own; had to ask for our drinks many times. Also; if you bring food to children don’t serve it on scorching hot plates; plain dangerous.

Phenomenal French cuisine and service. The owner went above and beyond with the service and the food was outstanding.

Food very good. Service for a group with children very bad.

We dined here twice in early May. It is a quiet and charming spot in the heart of town with great service. And the food was exceptional, over the two meals we had the escargot, scallops, sea bream, cod and the steak and all were delicious. There are some issues with chipped credit cards. We paid cash for two of about 130 including cocktails and a bottle of wine. A bargain relative to the quality of the food.

Took the family here on boxing day! Great meal, starters were delicious; scallops cooked perfectly, quenelles were meaty and wonderfully plump. Mains had a gamey slant, my pheasant was tasty, the doe came in an apple and cinnamon glaze, the hare was a delight. Less adventurous son had steak which was very good. Service was excellent.

Small restaurant, intimate atmosphere, very personal service. Great local dishes, excellent quality for a fair price. Heartily recommended!
