"In Saint-Grégoire, Ronan Kervarrec adds a second Star to his restaurant, Maison Ronan Kervarrec, where he celebrates in a very personal way the essential aspects of Armorican culinary identity." - Le Guide MICHELIN

"A vibrant, indulgent homage to the Brittany he knows and loves! Thriving in his native region, Ronan Kervarrec eschews trends in a bid to tell his personal and professional story through food. The culinary tale he conjures up here features buckwheat, buttermilk, fish, shellfish, butter, seaweed, gavotte (a thin, crispy pancake), chouchen (a local form of mead) and sablé breton. In tribute to his father, who was a saucier at the George V, the chef expertly executes a range of jus and sauces, which vary from intense to subtly flavoured. Floor to ceiling windows give onto a terrace overlooking the pretty garden. Very professional welcome and service from the chef's wife and her team. Guestrooms for overnight stays and a small delicatessen where you can purchase gourmet souvenirs." - Michelin Inspector

We had a wonderful evening at Le Saison restaurant. What a way to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Everyone who greeted and looked after us were lovely. It was a relaxed atmosphere with a warm ambience but with a precise attention to detail to enhance this exceptional dining experience. This was our first visit to the restaurant but we were welcomed as if we were good friends. Ronan your presentation of the authentic tastes of Bretagne are perfection. Thank you. Also a great big thank you to Els and all of the team with a special thank you to Mairie.. Best wishes James and Dee Bailey

Very modern rooms with everything one could want for, in the suburbs of Rennes called St-Gregoire. One gets a quiet welcome to rooms which are spotless and very contemporary. The restaurant is also very modern with formal waiting staff but very relaxed i.e. no need to dress up! All of the staff are extremely helpful and the food is exceptionally well cooked and presented as one would expect from a Michelin one star establishment. The breakfast selection is full of fresh local produce accompanied by that wonderful smell of straight from the bakers oven! Madame Christine and David Etcheverry run a very professional establishment where one can feel relaxed and be confident that the best will be served in all aspects. ||The property is tucked away in the suburbs in a very quiet location but be in no doubt well worth the find, for here attention to detail is King.

We stayed at the Saison last weekend and totally enjoyed it. The décor was very modern and of very high quality. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom had a real wow factor with a fabulous shower. Our bedroom had its own little garden. The welcome was very friendly and professional and the breakfast, which is included, was lovely. We loved the fact that a lot of thought had gone not only on the interior but also on the outside views. All windows seem to give onto manicured gardens which is extremely pleasant and relaxing. We did not get the opportunity to sample dinner, but would love to come back.

We loved the super stylish bedrooms in this top class restaurant with rooms. Comfortable bed with free standing bath and our own little garden. Every detail from the design of the sink to the lighting has been executed brilliantly. Even the teabags are a work of art. Add a lovely lap pool (the weather was v hot when we were there) and you can’t go wrong. Had delicious dinner in restaurant and looked after by helpful and professional staff. Highly recommended.

We used Les Patios as a stop-off on our way back from the Vendee before catching the ferry home the following day. We have two small children, and despite arriving with a car loaded to the roof with bags with a grumpy toddler, the staff were incredibly welcoming. Our room was very comfortable, with an extra bed for our four year old. We loved the little garden although because of the pond and delicate planting, we didn't wander around in it. However, there is a field with horses nearby where children can play/ wander, so we made use of that instead. The floor to ceiling window made the outdoor patio a beautiful living painting though! ||We ate in the restaurant (although the baby monitor app didn't work due to the restaurant being on a different wifi loop to the rooms), so we used our mobile phones as a monitor instead. The food was incredible. Beautifully balanced, great presentation, delicious and original flavour combinations and not overly rich or cloying. Service was impeccable. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and delish. If we were to come back again, we'd probably do it without the children, but will be recommending to everyone.

Very belated review of our five-day stop at Les Patios in July. I suspect most people only stop a night or two, but it ticked all the boxes we wanted for a relaxing break and so easy to get into the centre of Rennes on the bus. David and Christine are marvellous (and very down-to-earth) hosts and this bijou hotel in the fringes of suburbia is a dream. ||||We had the pool pretty much to ourselves for most of our stay (the few other guests tended to arrive late in the afternoon and leave soon after breakfast), though it was sufficiently hot that we frequently retired to our cleverly designed air-conditioned room (right next to the pool area) to read and laze. Christine made sure there was always a wonderful spread for breakfast, even if we seemed to be the only ones there, and even gave us a bag of pastries for the trip home on our last morning.||||Wouldn't hesitate to come here again if in the area, especially as the lunches and dinners (reviewed separately) are so good.

This is a great accommodation with modern facilities - spacious, comfortable, clean, quiet room with rain shower and private garden. There is a bigger garden in the back with a lap pool. Dog friendly and parking on site. We ate at the delicious Michelin starred restaurant and stayed overnight, which was ideal. It was a lovely experience.

It was our good fortune to find Les Patios. We stayed at Les Patios for three nights, and used it as the base for traveling around Brittany. Located just outside of Rennes it was a very comfortable location. The Les Patios rooms are adjacent to the fabulous Les Saison restaurant - a double pleasure. Both the restaurant and the rooms are impeccable, in design, quality, attention to detail and service. All in all a most pleasurable stay.

Yelp
We went to Le Saison recently to celebrate a friend's birthday. It is a wonderful restaurant and the food was excellent. The service was also attentive. It has both an old style and a modern feel at the same time. They still have the tradition that they give your guests menu cards with no prices. There was a good range of different price menus and number of courses. The portions are small and the creativity in the dishes is impressive. We really enjoyed the unusual take on the local cuisine. It was fun to see many local dishes reimagined in interesting ways. It is a great place to go to celebrate a special occasion. We dressed nice but not formal and it was not a problem. The decor inside the restaurant is a bit stark but interesting. The patio looks much more inviting but it was too cold to sit outside the day we visited. I look forward to returning some time soon to see what other creations the chef has in mind. We left full and happy. It is clear the menu changes often and, I assume with the season, so each visit is a new experience. This is really one of the top restaurants in the area.
