Quebec Is Lifting Its Ban on Karaoke and Dancing in Bars Later This Month | Eater Montreal

"I noted Le Salon Daomé was part of a collective of nightlife establishments that organized a protest on Avenue du Parc where thousands in Montreal gathered to oppose the province’s ban on dancing in bars." - Valerie Silva

Montreal Clubs Plan Protest to Lift Dance Ban | Eater Montreal

"One of several popular nightlife spots affected by Quebec's ban on dancing, Le Salon Daomé joined other clubs to create a Facebook event for a parade of floats, performers, loud music, and lights on October 23 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., starting on Avenue du Parc and Duluth; the event had about 1.7 thousand people marked as attending." - Valerie Silva

Beautiful ambience they played blue Monday! And they have free pads for female presenting people in the bathroom four stars!

A fun place with good music, the only problem I had is them not taking American cards at the bar. They do have an ATM there, but I would recommend brining American or Canadian cash.

Amazing music. Always a good crowd. The bouncers are fair and friendly. Bartenders are top! The staff is on point. This is the place to go if you enjoy electronic music and good drinks for decent prices. Highly recommend!

Really nice club, a landmark in Montreal nightlife. They play mostly underground Minimal, Tech, Deep House which I like a lot, but the generally younger crowd sometimes gets confused about this music haha. Still fun to see people dance. Great line-array sound system. DJ booth has 1200s and 4x CDJ-3000s. Friendly staff, bouncer, bartenders, coatcheck (free, tip-based). They take Interac debit and cash. Cozy, all-inclusive vibe.

Nice upscale nightclub. The staff was friendly and well responsive. The only issue for us was the music - though we like EDM, it feels like the same repetitive track going on and on... at least till 1:30 am (on a weekend). The music only gets better after 1:30.... so either come late or be prepared to get a little bored until this time.

Always a great time here, even at this new location! The bartenders are super nice and the girl at the door on Friday nights; is amazing!!!!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night during a snowstorm. After making it past security, I was told to go upstairs. I was greeted with a $9 cover. Normally, the cover wouldn't have been an issue on a Saturday night but this place was empty. I was hesitant to pay for cover when the entire place was empty but I decided to take a chance. Once I made it inside, I went to get my coat checked. It's based on tips and not a fee. Ordered a Long Island iced tea. The cup was small and I think the drink was made of the wrong ingredients but it was decently strong. At about 1:00 am, an hour after entering, the place began to get crowded. The music was great. Really enjoyed the DJ and so did the crowd. Overall, the place originally was empty but ended up filling up. Drinks are on the smaller side. May be a hit or miss, but I had a great time.

Yelp
It's a house club, and a respected one at that. If you don't like house music, deep house, electro house, chicago house, you probably won't find what you are looking for here. Daome used to be an actual apartment, and it's been refurbished a bit since then but is still small with comfy couches, old lamps and tiki art. It's chill to lounge in when it's quiet (ie; before 1am-ish.) You can hear each other talk, djs start around 10pm, well drinks are $6 for basic booze - you could do a lot worse. The sound quality is warm and well-suited to house, and the mirror above the dj booth gives a nice view on the good work going down. Fun, not fancy, shared bathrooms, a place to check out if you're looking to cut a rug around Mount Royal.

Yelp
Not even worth the review: grungy, punk club with a $8 cover charge, boring trance music, bad drinks, and a questionable crowd. I'm only giving 2 stars because my wife is awesome and she made it fun. Would not go back.

Yelp
This place works for a few reasons. First and foremost - the music. Everyone knows that Montreal has an incredible electronic and house scene ... well, this is where the people in the know go. All it is is a door from the street - no sign at all. Even in the local papers and free rags, this is one of the only places that simply doesn't even list their address. Gotta love it. Either you know it or you don't. The crowd is pretty serious club type peeps ... but very very friendly and open to anyone who is there to boogie on down with them. It is a small place, with totally ratty shitty furniture ... but it just doesn't matter ... the music, dancing and ppl give it a unique vibe that is a must see when in Montreal. Even on non weekend nights. Doink!

Yelp
Went here on a recent trip to Montreal. It was on. A Sunday night and did not know what to expect . It's located pretty close to all other clubs . Small door leading upstairs to the lounge . The coat was $4 but entry was free. Drinks were moderately priced( shots for $3 and mixed for $7 wierd) . It had a very good vibe and ambience. The music was electro , house trance but do not expect top 40 or even close to it.we had an amazing time and the DJ booth was pretty cool. There are couches and lot of seating area for people to take a break. Washrooms are unisex. Pretty good night.

Yelp
Dance music but not progressive house. This cannot be stressed enough. French house, tech house, and all sorts of experimental. Worth the visit of youre looking for something less than common place on Montreal. Good drink prices and a crowd thats over 21. Highly recommended for a run of funky house of all stripes.

Yelp
Looking at the review we thought it will be a blast but it turn out boring. We love house music but the DJ was crap. I guess it was a bad night because of the DJ. The place is unique and people are friendly. The drink wasn't bad and average in price. I wouldn't mind giving a try with a better DJ.

Yelp
Then we were off to Salon Daome, an above ground underground club. No signs, just a bouncer, before you walk into a large, dark, wide open dance floor. It looked like a really large living room and was decorated à la safari africain. A very no frills place with the DJ booth at the front center of the dance floor playing electronic dance beats - no top 40 here, or even anything I've ever heard before. The bartender is known for his Russian Roulette shots that he sets on fire so Amir suggested we get some of those. Impressive presentation but not a really strong shot by any means.

Yelp
An acquaintance of mine convinced me to have a drink here. When I got to the top of the stairs I wish I had refused. This wasn't the worst the bar I've ever been to, but one that I will never return to again! This just isn't my crowd, and if this is your crowd, you need a new crowd.

Geneviève T.

Yelp
Very bad customer service - would not recommend. They made us wait in line for no reason outside, then we paid for our entry and we were told very rudely and multiple times that we had to tip the guy at coat check - which isn't true, especially when they are not treating you properly. The guys at the bar were also very rude and serving customers in the order they wanted without trying to respect the order in which people had arrived. When we politely tried to get their attention they rudely told us to wait our turn and then proceeded to serve everyone except us. They refused to serve water to people who needed it or just wanted a refresher. Overall very bad experience and I regret giving them any of my money. Also they only take cash as payement....

Yelp
The place to be on a Wednesday night. Best soulful Afro Latin Deep house with a twist at the end of the night. Oasis Wednesdays it is!

Yelp
This place was really funky and had a great vibe. Any night that ends with hugs with strangers is delightful and this was one of those kinds of places where that can happen.

Yelp
Love it. This place is so fun and the music is great. Perfect size. Good people good fun.

Yelp
Underground-ish place with GREAT music (depends on the night) but electro deep house gendra. If you want to have a few drinks and dance your pants off, it's the place to go. DONT expect to have a martini there, nor be impressed by the cutting edge lighting LOL. I was reading reviews about how people didn't enjoy themselves there, which is virtually impossible if you like to dance!
