Had dinner here and it was a wonderful experience. We had a reservation for a large group and although we were not seated until 1 hour past our reservation, the staff made sure to take our order before we were seated so that we weren’t waiting too long for our food. Every dish was beautifully made, colourful and delicious! We shared everything and it was a pleasurable dining experience.

Google
You win so many Michelin recommendations, but you can't control the hair, the plastic wrappers on the plate, and the big flies around the table! I don’t understand why there are 3 unusual points happened on my table. The staff has replaced a new one for me with apologies, nothing else. Overall, the taste is good, price is a little bit over as such a restaurant.

Lela

Google
Wholeheartedly recommended! Every piece of food was a delight, and the waiter's suggestions were worth the trust. Overall amazing food and attention to detail in every bite, flavour, and texture.

Google
Best dining experience in Nice. All sides good, welcoming staff, fresh ingredients, gorgeous cooking and comfortable vibe. Worthy the money and beyond the expectation. Highly recommended.

Google
Food was very good, service was very accommodating, and was a cool spot to have dinner at slightly off the main strip. Was definitely one of the more expensive meals we've had in France but high quality and worth the $.

Google
All the food were very nice and we especially loved the lobster pasta! It is a Michelin recommended restaurant which is well justified and deserved.

Google
Must order their lobster signature main! Gamberoni is also so fresh and creamy. Friendly services from the waitress and the lady manager 👍

Google
Walking distance from my hotel Best Western if you dont want to go to busy old Nice I suggest giving this gem a try. Tranquil, calm romantic (even if you are solo) the staff was wonderful and the food superb!

Yelp
Sooo fantastic! Not only do they speak great English but they were so kind and helpful! I mentioned my gluten allergy and they not only made recommendations, but they also offered to make modifications to other items on their menu to accommodate my needs. And did I mention the food is OUTSTANDING?!?! Seriously mind blowing! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The owner of this place is the friendliest sweetest lady. We were going to the restaurant next door one night when we stumbled into her and she was kind enough to tell us we were at the wrong place and direct us to our reservation. We joked around with her and said we will see her tomorrow and she let us know they are packed the next day but if we come right when they open she will get us a table. And so we did. The food was spectacular. The service was on point. The wine recommendations she made worked very well with the food . They have a covered patio outside and very chill vibes. We had fish Moroccan style in a tagine - so moist so delish , scallops with seaweed butter and foie gra. Each better than the other . The chef did a wonderful job. All said and done , I will def visit back just based on how warm the owner was . She made us feel at home and was full of zest and life. The food bangs which made it even better. Highly recommended 10/10

Yelp
The service and food was amazing! Found this cute restaurant from Michelin Star restaurant search near our hotel. It was barely 2 minutes walk and became our favorite during trip to Nice. I ordered lobster risotto and my sister ordered porcini risotto on the first day. The lobster was cooked to perfection. It was so fresh that it tasted sweet. The porcini was so savory. They were both so good. My sister wanted to go back next day to eat the lobster risotto again. They were simply delicious. When they were fully booked on our last night, they informed us their new location. So we were able to try new dishes.

Yelp
I'm giving this place 4 stars for service. I tried to convince myself that I liked food here, but I had quite a few criticisms. The foie gras was a standard foie nothing to write home about. The sardines were fresh but way too salty for my liking. The polenta with mushrooms, in my humble opinion, was not a restaurant quality dish. There was one highlight of my meal, and that was the cod. It was simply prepared, fresh, firm, and flaky. For dessert, I had the grand mariner souffle that I thought tasted like it had too many eggs in it. The service, however, was impeccable.

Yelp
We were lucky to get seating for lunch. Of course, it helped to get there before they opened. We had the foie gras, crab soup, lobster tail pasta, confit de canard and grand marnier soufflé for dessert. The owner and owner's mom were super nice. The owner's mom, who lives just upstairs, above the restaurant, took the time to translate the menu to English for us while we were trying to figure out the menu posted outside before they opened. Everything dish was fantastic. Soufflé was nice & warm...perfect to end of meal with an expresso. It was an expensive lunch but totally worth it.

Yelp
We've been coming to Nice for over ten years, yet just discovered this gem! Shame on us... Our last dinner before reluctantly heading home was one of the best we've ever had. As others have noted, it was warm and inviting, and the staff was attentive and willing to translate a few words that we didn't recognize. Every one of our selections was perfect...no other way to describe it! We look forward to our next visit, and a chance to dine here again, as well as its sister restaurant next door, Bistrot Marin.

Elena R.

Yelp
Great place for a casual dinner in Nice. Very friendly staff who speaks perfect English. Cute interior as well as outdoor seating. Nice drinks and good food. Menu changes every day so it's written on a chalk board. Our favorites were millefleurs with cherries, octopus risotto and cucumber gazpacho. They have the most extensive dessert menu we've seen during this trip to France, so save room for it.

Katie R.

Yelp
I had an amazing evening in this intimate restaurant. I walked in early and was warmly welcomed. They squeezed me in between reservations and made me feel so welcomed. I had oysters, lobster risotto and finished with a fruit dessert. The host was lovely and recommended wine and food. It was an outstanding experience and would highly recommend to friends and family.

Yelp
How have I not reviewed this place yet?! This is our favorite restaurant in Nice and has been for years. We visited last night for the third time and once again had a wonderful time! The food is amazing, but in addition to that the restaurant is very warm and welcoming, you almost feel as if you're having dinner in a friend's home. The owner is often there and she's so kind and inviting. Last night was our first time visiting during covid and things weren't that much different aside from the tables being arranged differently inside and separated with plexiglass, the interior is still beautiful and just as warm and inviting as before. However, we opted to dine outside as the weather was perfect! Our waiter was wonderful per usual and greeted us right away to tell give us the wine menu and go over the specials of the day. We started with rosé and two starters: this amazing crab with avocado dish and shrimp with fennel, both were incredibly delicious. We were also given an amuse-bouche which was a pea gazpacho, it was incredibly good! For our plates, I chose the ahi with a pepper sauce and my partner ordered the dorade with vegetables. We also shared a 50cl of red wine, it was excellent as were our dishes. We try to have dinner here every time we're in Nice and I can't wait to go back! I highly, highly recommend booking a table here, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Impeccable service, médiocre food. After reading all of the rave reviews and seeing the Michelin star, we were so excited to try this restaurant while in Nice. However, though the servers were friendly and knowledgeable--the food was underwhelming. The appetizers had an overwhelming amount of cream--almost covering the natural flavors of the other ingredients. The others were a bit bland and lacked an "edge" in the flavor. I hoped that the entrees would be better but one of the fish dishes was overcooked and another covered in a sweet, creamy sauce, the combination of flavors were a bit muddy. The tastiest one was the shrimp risotto. We also had to wait about an hour to get our entrees. By that time we couldn't wait longer and had to skip dessert. It's possible we came on a mn off night but found this place so disappointing.

Yelp
Cute little French restaurant in nice. Five stars for the food, service and atmosphere. I came after being recommended by both my uber driver and hotel front desk. The location of this restaurant is great - right next to the shopping centers. The menu here is written on a blackboard and changes every day. The server patiently described every dish for us in English. We shared foie gras as entree, had lobster risotto and fish as main dish and soufflé as dessert. Everything tastes so great! Foie gras is creamy and flavorful; fish is flavorful. Lobster risotto is the most popular dish in the restaurant, and is the best lobster dish I have ever tasted. My favorite, however, is the soufflé. It is so fluffy outside, and soft like an egg tart inside. It is not too sweet and has a lemony taste to it. I finished it in a matter of minutes. In all, we finished the dinner so satisfying and full. Would recommend sejour to anyone in nice for vocation!

Joseph L.

Yelp
The food here is outstanding. I have eaten at many Michelin-starred places in the Bay Area, but I'd say the food here beats many of the 2-star places. (And Le Séjour has zero star) We were mind-blown by how such a small cafe on the street could be so good...so we kept on coming back to make sure it wasn't just one lucky meal. We literally came here THREE times during our short 4-day stay in Nice. (And yes the waitstaff recognized us...) And we were blown away every single time, except the third time...we stopped eating half way because we were too full...our own fault for committing gluttony by over-ordering... And a last note for folks coming from SF, NYC, London, or Singapore...the price here is amazing compared to our cities. ~$120 USD for two all-in (apps, entrees, wine, desserts) at this caliber...I would literally visit Nice again just to eat here again.

Yelp
This is a place you must make a reservation . The food was soooooo fresh and unique flavors. Fabulous service and great ambiance.

Reena H.

Yelp
Incredible service. Incredible food. Book through calling or just showing up at least one day prior. Family owned. Everything is made with particular attention to the details, fresh ingredients, and reasonably priced for the incredible meal you're about to have.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST French restaurant we dined at in Nice. Trip advisor has this as the #3 restaurant and it lives up to its rating. The ambiance is perfect for small groups, the service spoke English and French and was very attentive, and the food was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the Lobster Risotto and their desserts. The risotto was so flavorful and creamy that it left my tastebuds tingling. The dessert was the perfect end to a great dinner. The pistachio mousse was very light and tasty. Bottom line: Definitely worth the wait! Service is fantastic and the food will leave your tastebuds in joy!

Mark S.

Yelp
I don't know if there are any reviews on this restaurant that aren't five stars.... and I am going to join the consensus! Given the price, this restaurant can't be beat. OK, the snails salad was just ok. But the squash soup was excellent. The risotto was fantastic. And don't leave without having the lava cake. The 19 euro house 50 cl pitcher of St Emilion wine can't be beat. If your in Nice, go to this restaurant! The service was great... Even if a bit too fast for my taste!

Yelp
What can I say that hasn't been stated before? After traveling through Provence for the the past two weeks, this was easily our best meal. After spending a couple days in Nice, we were beginning to lose hope in finding anything remotely comparable to the food we found in the French countryside. On our last night, we decided to do dinner nearby our hotel and wow were we happy we did. In fact, we regretted not having come the previous night, because there were so many other dishes we wanted to try. The service was courteous, friendly and even humorous. The kitchen was run like a machine. Most importantly, the food was flavorful and incredibly delicious. The icing on the cake was that the prices were much more reasonable than the typical tourist traps you see around Nice. You must visit this place at least once, if not twice.

Veronica A.

Yelp
One of the best French dinner we had (how authentic can it be!) Love the service, the food, the ambience. This place is truly a gem! Highly recommended.

Jessica J.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. The staff were extremely friendly (and spoke great English) and were attentive. We had: frog legs, foie gras and lentil soup for appetizers. The duck, cod and beef tartare for mains. Almond cake and meringue for dessert. DEFINITELY get the frog legs and cod - if you've never had frog legs, this is the time. For a Michelin recommended restaurant, it was also very reasonably priced for the quality of food and service we got - we paid about $125 for 3 appetizers, 3 mains and 2 desserts (no drinks). The ambience was also quaint and warm. We went without a reservation right when it opened for dinner at 7:30 and got lucky as it was one of the two open spots they had, otherwise it was fully booked. Would recommend reservations.

K L.

Yelp
Service is exemplary! Wine glasses filled, unobtrusive service and with an ever so engaging smile! The appetizers were so flavorful! The entrees are perfect. Dessert is divine! For a restaurant receiving so many 5 star recommendations, it is heartwarming to get consistency and

Chris D.

Yelp
We have had our fair share of nice meals, but this is by far one of the best. The service here is incredible and the food is even better. They change their menu weekly and have a small cook staff that delicately prepares each course. The waiter personally made us one of the best Irish coffees we've ever had as well

L H.

Yelp
FIVE STARS. Was I not clear? I'll say it again. FIVE STARS!!!!!! The service, the food, the ambiance... just phenomenal. My waiter was patient with explaining the menu, he was attentive and the food was just incredible. I got the foie gras, lobster risotto, and gingerbread with figs for dessert. If you're in Nice I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation. You won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Thank to Yelp that we discovered this little gem during our Nice vacation. At the first sight the place seems very modest and therefore I didnot pay any attention to it although it is located very close to our hotel. But after searching a nice restaurant on Yelp... Bingo ! ...Cafe Sejour was at the first place. So we stepped in the restaurant without having a reservation on a friday night. The lady (I think she was the manager or the owner of the place) was so nice and managed a place for us. First impression was super and it continued with a very friendly and nice service. The energy of the place was so high that even the lady put the customers in a very friendly situation such as she kindly asked the couple beside our table to translate the French menu to me. She really knows the customer relations and interested in every detail. She explained each dish very good. I ordered risotto with scallops which was awesome. The lamb that my husband ordered was delicious also. I was very much impressed with the ambiance and I forgot to take any pictures of the main dishes and the appetizer. The appetizer was sardine tartines which was yummy. The wine (it was a Malbec) was very good also. We were very contend with every bite that we had and decided to finalize the feast with a desert since I saw the deserts of other customers and all seemed fantastic.. I had a desert with lemon cream and my husband had chocolate cake filled warm chocolate. The decorations of the deserts were super however both of them were too sweet for me. While we were leaving we saw the lady and the chef resting on outside sitting area after a long night. We had a very nice conversation. I had the impression that they are a very good team and I wanted to try different tastes since I learned that they change the menu every week. The conclusion of this review is that the place got 5 sparkling stars from me...

Conner S.

Yelp
Don't normally leave reviews but this exceptional meal deserves one. Each portion of the meal was delicious and meticulously prepared - a real treat. Having had the lobster risotto I can highly recommend it. The wine was also great. I also have to acknowledge a perfect creme brulee ("Le vraie creme brulee" and they weren't lying). The prices were very reasonable as well.

Cecilia C.

Yelp
AMAZING food. AMAZING service. Get the lobster risotto or literally anything on the menu and you'll have a great time.

Diana P.

Yelp
Absolutely great! I give this restaurant 5 stars because in my mind it covers the definition of: Fantastic service! Food creativeness! Beautiful plating! Delicious tasting fresh ingredients! And LOVE. This restaurant is a small very intimate setting but it's what makes it special. The service is excellent, great servers, extremely friendly, translated their entire menu to us in English and what I adored the most was that before and between food dishes they brought small tastings of food items such as toast with mushroom spread, and white bean gazpacho. Do your self a favor and go, and if you do and you are into citrusy, refreshing deserts- definitely have the citron desert.

Michael C.

Yelp
The staff spoke english and were not rude, infect they were very kind. The food was fantastic. The potatoes boggle the imagination. In addition We had two types of fish, both were excellent. Ask for butter for the bread, it was like a dream that melts your soul. Also don't miss the lava cake, it's absolutely lovely.

Shriya K.

Yelp
Cozy atmosphere for a special birthday dinner. Also accommodated for a vegetarian diet with specially prepared vegetable risotto. The chocolate lava cake was awesome!

Eugenia J.

Yelp
My friend and I ate at Le Sejour our first night in Nice. I had the gazpacho and lobster risotto, and he had the octopus and pork. The food was delicious, and the staff was great. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the gazpacho. The flavors - green tomatoes, mint and sorbet - did not go well together (at least for me). My companion, however, would like give his meal 5 stars.

Lotus R.

Yelp
Excellent fine food. Went there for dinner twice. Friendly service. Nice amuse bouche (asparagus purée one night and tomato purée on smother) and bread. Appetizers - Warm Spanish style gaspacho, asparagus, mini pizza with caramelized onions & red snapper. All were great. They know how to cook fish. Main dish - risotto with small scallops, red snapper with mashed potatoes, turbot, courgine (?) with white beans in tomato based sauce. All were deliciously prepared. Dessert - coconut mousse with caramelized pineapple, tiramisu, chocolate lava cake were all excellent. Chocolate lava cake could be better. Make reservations. Will come again.

Yelp
This was booked for us by our hotel concierge, and a very impressive choice. One of the best restaurants for the price. Cool, modern décor. Food was plated nicely, and taste met expectations. I loved our foie gras appetizer, the lamb and beef entrees were delicious, and the gnocchi was really smooth. We also had frog legs that were fabulous, and hey, we are in France, right? Why not? A nice French restaurant in San Francisco may have cost us double for what we ordered. All around superb food, sauce pairings, digestif, dessert. They even give you a little bowl of lemon water to clean your fingers! That is a wonderful service i wish more restaurants partake in. Cozy atmosphere, great for a romantic evening.

Kamala B.

Yelp
The food was pure perfection. We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The owner was very welcoming and the staff was attentive. You know you are in the right place when the restaurant is filled with locals.

Amjad S.

Yelp
Frog legs were awesome. Salmon tartar was so so. Lobster risotto was awesome Lamb roast was good. Not amazing. We sat outside on the deck, and the service and ambiance was great.

Jon A.

Yelp
A fantastic restaurant with 5 star food and 5 star service, without the 5 star price. Fresh and creative menu. Watching the kitchen and head chef was very impressive. Nice is a tricky town to find great food but this place will please anyone. English well spoken there too.

Jade M.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant! Service was good and the food was amazing. The inside decor was very simple yet pretty! Would definitely go back again.

Mark H.

Yelp
Needed a good meal after a long day which is exactly what I got. Tasty, great service. Couldn't fit in desert but will be going back to try that out.

Katie E.

Yelp
Excellent food and excellent friendly service. Couldn't ask for any better. Cozy place, not too big and not too loud.

Richard H.

Yelp
The food was excellent! I started off with grilled scallops as a starter, and moved on to the seared tuna. Tuna was served in a light broth with vegetables. Presentation, quality and service was fantastic. Decor in the restaurant was warm and inviting as well, almost feels like someone opened their house to you and served dinner. Finished with the chocolate cake(molton) w/ a mango sherbet which was wonderful!

Eris B.

Yelp
We had our farewell dinner to Nice here. The menu was varied without being overwhelming, and the selection was seasonal and fresh. Each of us in our group of four was happy with what we ordered, and the service was attentive and friendly. Had a great table on the small patio, and we felt more comfortable out there in our more casual clothes than inside.

Dunia V.

Yelp
What a shame... We saw the reviews about this place and figured it would be great for dinner. My husband and I got there and asked for a table for 2. The 2 people (French speakers) in front of us were seated immediately but we were told there were no more tables available. As we walked away without giving it a second thought we looked through the window and saw that MOST tables were open. Furthermore, 3 other people who passed us on the sidewalk also French speakers were allowed inside the restaurant and seated without hesitation. This was by far the most rude encounter we've had here . I am not sure if it was because we're American and do no speak french or if it was how we were dressed (we had raincoats on as it was raining outside). Either way, we were perfectly kind in speaking with the waiter and for them to tell us there were no tables available when 5 people were allowed in before and after us in total and most tables were still open is absolutely unacceptable. We happily took our business elsewhere.
