Mediterranean restaurant Dough House opens in Spring Valley - Eater Vegas

"Carla Pellegrino, a Vegas dining scene fixture and former Top Chef contestant, fires up the burners today at Dough House (5875 South Rainbow Boulevard), the new Italian-inspired eatery from sisters Marina and Axenia Cobzac in Spring Valley. It’s the first restaurant for the Moldavian siblings, with two more in the works. Italian classics such as a fritto misto di mare, minestrone, Italian meatballs, and various pasta dishes anchor the tidy menu, while some savory Moldavian dishes add a twist. Look for the Dough House vegetable placinte, a Moldavian pastry with fresh cabbage and roasted onion, or the Dough House feta cheese placinte. Desserts include Sicilian cannoli, ricotta cheesecake, and more. The airy interior is flooded in warm cream and white tones, with a black grand piano dressing the space. There’s an indoor garden as well. Live music, including DJs on the weekends, will join the mix in the coming weeks." - Stephanie Carter

Chef Carla Pellegrino returns to Las Vegas with Dough House Restaurant & Bar - Eater Vegas

"In a surprise move, former Las Vegas dining-scene fixture Carla Pellegrino is very close to a debut for her latest chef venture, bringing the Dough House Restaurant & Bar to Spring Valley. Pellegrino handles the menu of Italian cuisine with French flair at this restaurant run entirely by women. Her menus are still fondly remembered at Bratalian Neapolitan Cantina, their Henderson Italian restaurant that closed in 2018." - Bradley Martin

Google
Great food, excellent service. They also had live piano music. For some reason it was very empty on a Sunday night. The food was very filling - they don’t skimp on portion sizes.

Google
I absolutely enjoyed my time here! The service was incredible and the food was delicious. Our waiter Dago was really attentive and provided great service. He recommended the “Penne Alla Vodka” and I’m so glad I tried a new dish. I also had the expresso martini it was phenomenal.

Google
What a GEM!!! Stopped by on a Friday night and the restaurant is pretty good in size. There is also an outside latio that is beautiful. Good for large groups. They offer entertainment and it so happened to be Mark G. Nice mellow songs and not so loud. Our server was Dago. Very funny man and it was to know a little connection with living in Hawaii. He had a response and comment about everything. I love his interaction with everyone and he was the only server on the floor in addition to the ones serving the food. Food: Complimentary Bread Crab Cakes Bruschetta Meat Lasagna The bread has got to be one of the best I've had in years. It's thin and served hot. The crab cakes were delicious. I had to add a little bit of lemon and the sauce tasted good too. The Lasagna was HUGE and tasty. We had to end up taking more than half home. Now the highlight was the Bruschetta. The tomatoes were not huge. It was cur perfectly and seasoned so well. The bread was thin which made it easier to eat. Tomatoes and Mozarella were in tack and it didn't spill all over. Overall, a great spot for a date Night. Great service all around.

Google
I was brought here by my partner for a date and is was absolutely incredible! They have live music every night, and the jazz musician the night I went was great. I had the lobster ravioli and it was the best lobster and ravioli I've ever had at any restaurant. My partner had one of the daily specials which was a papardelle bolognese and that was incredible as well. The garlic bread they served is the best bread I've had at an Italian Restaurant. Dago was our server and he was personable, funny, and overall wonderful. Service was quick and enjoyable.

Google
I don’t even know where to start. From the appetizers, (we ordered calamari, crab cakes and caprese salad to start) maine course (Penne Alla Vodka with chicken to share) to deserts (we had limoncello and affogato) everything was delicious! And Dago, our server was very attentive and friendly! Ohh and if you’re an old soul like me, you’ll fall in love even more with this place because of their LIVE music 💕 Good Italian food and good energy ✨

Yelp
The atmosphere was great. Old Italian feel. The food was amazing. Portions were large and everything was fresh. One of the best beet salads I've had. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We came here on a pretty quiet evening, but everything was very nice. Our food was delicious, and we received plenty of it. The service was excellent, and the restaurant is new and clean. My wife instantly adored this place; we're coming back for Valentine's Day. It's a sorely needed top-notch Italian option for southwest locals.

Yelp
The ambiance, the bar, service and food were excellent. Great selection. Will be back!

Sandra L.

Yelp
We went here on a whim... How lucky are we?! The food was amazing...the portions were generous and fixed to perfection and the presentation was beautiful. I love eating with my eyes before taking my first bite. Howie was playing piano in the background and asked for requests. I love the classics that he chose. The interior is beautiful. A touch of understated elegance without being stuffy. Very well done. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Such delicious food!! The waiter was attentive and funny - we enjoyed everything- including dessert!! The music was great and even did some singalongs - a perfect night out !!

Yelp
I came in for a glass of wine with friends after dance class and stayed for the live music. The restaurant has a gorgeous Grand piano and a roster of incredible musicians and singers so settling in at the bar soon turned to ordering food just to keep the night going. The Shrimp Scampi, Arugula salad and Eggplant Parmesan- all chef's kiss. The sisters who run Le Sorelle, a la The Sisters, are treasures who made me feel right at home. If it's a toss up for this introvert between staying home to unwind or coming to Le Sorelle, I'm coming to Le Sorelle.

Geri M.

Yelp
We truly enjoyed Le Sorelle. The staff, food, and entertainment are wonderful! We have a special needs adult son, and the waiter immediately picked up on it and was so accommodating. It has a good vibe to it, and everyone is very friendly. We'll be bringing friends for Valentine's Day! And with the 7 log-in links Yelp sent me to be able to post this review, I must really like the place!

Barb W.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! I usually don't leave reviews, but this place was worthy of a 5 star rating! I loved the server, he was authentic Italian, very attentive! The food was amazing, portions were huge. The food was so good, I couldn't stop eating! Next time I am in Vegas I will definitely make a point to return!

Yelp
This place is so tasty. We were nervous because it's so old school and not very crowded. But we tried the salad, the mozzarella stick and lasagna. They all just top notch yummy Not to salty, too oily and well balanced sauce

Yelp
FOOD Eggplant Parmigiana paired with pasta and red sauce**** pretty crispy eggplant layered with marinara sauce and gooey cheese. My Italian hubby said almost as good as his mom's do that's a plus. Garlic bread***** nice save crunchy but not hard. Calamari *** just ok. SERVICE***** attentive servers AMBIANCE ***** cute sexy place inside. Wasn't as busy when we arrived. Inside doesn't match exterior. Much classier inside. The effects have an outdoor covered garden for parties and entertaining. Would like to visit again. 22/25 = 88%

Yelp
I was there for happy hour, Very nice restaurant, owner, everything. i had so much fun with my friends with live music. must go place to check out. Best experience I ever had.

Yelp
We were in town for the weekend and I was in the mood for Italian, but did not wish to deal with crowds, so I asked the girlfriend to find a nice quiet restaurant with live low-key music off the Strip. Alas, she found this delightful gem with good food, personable service, reasonable prices and quiet charm. We had a little finicky eater with us that typically do not do well in sit-down restaurants, but he enjoyed the meatball appetizer and arugula salad, a pleasant surprise to us, and especially to his hopelessly permissive father. I credit the soft live piano music and the personable attention the boy got from our ever-friendly server for his good behavior. I bookmarked this restaurant for our future trips to Las Vegas.

Yelp
Lovely space with ample parking. Live music began at 6pm. Not too loud so we enjoyed talking with our hosts. Shrimp & clam appetizer was very good. My husband really enjoyed his pappadelle with meatballs. Very nice portion size too. An overall great night!

Yelp
Intimate venue, open dining room, live pianist who will take requests. Plenty of parking A small double date night with great food and friendly service. The only side note that I have is it was definitely a long dinner service. So maybe think euro style I guess haha because there were pauses in between courses. We enjoyed the white wine mussels. Their garlic bread is amazing and I sopped all the good stuff with my bread. Their beat soup of the day was a beet one very European. Must love beet and a very simple soup. Then the gnocchi which my husband enjoyed with the creamier white sauce. I enjoyed my salmon and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It had mashed potatoes and asparagus. Funny enough I usually love mash but I liked their asparagus more and would have liked a little more of that but no complaints on presentation. We ended with the crème brûlée and Tiramisu. Both were pretty traditional but I liked the little berry sauce on the tiramisu. Overall a nice local spot. Plan on no rush and simple classic ambiance.

The atmospheres is delightful We love the piano player that we saw when we went on a Thursday The service is fantastic The food was good The wine was amazing

Yelp
I'm writing this review now while waiting for my husband to finish his huge Chicken Milanese and while the experience is still fresh in my head. Eating here is definitely-superb! I had the softest steak in Vegas ever! If you love steaks like myself, and don't wanna pay horrendous prices, Le Sorelle is the perfect place. The caprese salad and meatballs tasted fresh and really tasty. Even their water has a good, refreshing taste. Everything we had is delicious and yet not as pricey as the ones at or close to the strip. The place is clean and no unpleasant smells. There's relaxing music playing in the background. There's also a piano in the middle of the room but we can't wait for the musician unfortunately. They have interesting decorations and artwork on the walls, and there's even a fountain in the second room. The sofas are comfortable and they have plenty of tables for hungry folks. I don't see parking as an issue as there's plenty of space in front, at the back and even at the side of the building where the restaurant is located. They're so sweet for giving me a birthday treat! Thank you so much Le Sorelle. I'll definitely come back and will tell friends and family about your amazing staff, great food, and overall wonderful restaurant!

Yelp
Just yum! First, I have to give Dago, our server props. Never have I laughed throughout the ordering process. He has personally plus. We started with a Caprese salad that was lovely. My husband ordered Pasta Primavera which had a bright & delicious red sauce, he practically licked the plate. My friend & I split the Seafood Pasta which was loaded with mussels, baby clam, calamari, octopus & shrimp. So good, but so big...we were stuffed! Somehow we managed to still order and eat dessert and split the Lava Cake. I had an espresso martini. All around great food & fantastic service. We WILL be back.

Yelp
5 Everything here was good or great we got the gnocchi as an appetizer and it was the best gnocchi I've had. For entrees we ordered the chicken parm and chicken pesto both were excellent, tender chicken and the pastas were very flavorful. The service was on point and they had a man playing the piano who was really quite good. The only thing this place should upgrade is the bread aside from that everything was excellent. I think if this restaurant were somewhere else it would be packed all of the time.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Drinks are 14.00 dollars and you did not get a whole drink, the glass was less than half. He said because the glass was elegant that's why it wasn't full . Whatever that means. He has some nerve posting that drink. The food was a horrible. Everything we received was disgusting.... We were not the only table complaining. When we said something he was very nasty. If I could give a 0 I would.
google avatar

Jade B.

Yelp
The pianist is the cutest!! He asked us for requests and for my dad we requested the Beatles and he played like 5 Beatles songs for us! Made our hearts happy! Food was good too, the garlic bread was addicting, and the steak cooked perfectly

Zach H.

Yelp
Such a wonderful hidden gemt. It is very delicious. It has wonderful atmosphere and has had live music both times we have came. The food is very delicious, we tried some new items this time and everything was very good. The recipes are tasty, the red sauce is great. Definitely would recommend for some great Italian food!
google avatar

Julianne S.

Yelp
Service here is amazing. I had a passion fruit mojito, and it was good! For food, I had a medium ribeye steak, which was cooked perfect. And it's a nice place. It wasn't loud or crowded, I loved it.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was on point food was delicious ambiance was pleasant & inviting love music was perfect

Kathy M.

Yelp
The only thing good about this Rest, was the ambiance. we were a party of 4 asked the waiter for separate checks and we were told no they don't do that. we paid $14.00 a piece for drinks that were less than half full. Are you kidding me we don't mind the price but less than half a drink. When we asked were the rest of the drink was. He continues with this is an exquisite glass. OK but were is the rest of the drink. The check said his name was Nico he was the rudest most obnoxious individual we have ever encountered. I asked for my pasta to please be Al dente and it was served mushy. Mr. nasty said it is Al dente. We wanted nothing else but to get out of there. our experience was horrible. Good luck with staying in business.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place but with limited menu options with items missing from the advertised menu online it was the start of the disappointment. Service was slow. Waited for water, for our order to be taken.. it eventually got better towards the end. Food: Calamari 4/5 : was yummy, we should have asked for it to be fried a bit harder but overall a nice fresh dish, would reccomend. Onion Soup. 0/5 had to send back. Was on the sweeter side and did not look appetizing at all. Looked like soup that would be on a movie... Truffle Fries :3/5 I guess we were expecting fresh cut potatoes. They were just frozen but still decent Chicken Milanese 3/5 it was good with the salad on top. Would not get again Potatoes 5/5: Delish, super creamy Asparagus 3/5: Grilled bo additional seasonings great compliment to the pork chop

Jackie B.

Yelp
My second visit and it's better than the first! Food was so good!! Salmon this time around, dinner partners had the veal and one had mushroom ravioli. Cream brûlée for dessert, and lava cake. And the duo singing - From Frank, the Beatles, to Dusty Springfield, Nat King Cole and Dean Martin. A perfect evening. Service was right on - not bothersome but aware! Love this place. Need to go more often
google avatar

lee j.

Yelp
Amazing dinner. Do I want more people to eat here? Yes and no. Yes so they succeed. No because it's my little secret. Tip the piano player well.. he's also amazing!
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! The entrees were full of flavor and cooked perfectly and the desserts were next level. The tiramisu tasted like it was prepared just before serving and the pistachio gelato was outstanding. Live piano while you're dining is an added bonus and he can play just about everything. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Laney C.

Yelp
I didn't have high hopes when I walked in due to a few oddities (the overwhelming chlorine smell from the fountain next door, the song about a promise being played over and over on a loop from the speakers for an hour) but, boy! I forgot all about those things when the food was served. I had eggplant parm and my friend had chicken and penne with vodka sauce and they were both delicious. The service was attentive but not obsequious; the piano player's talent and choice of songs quickly put Le Sorelle on my short list of favorite restaurants.
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
I have had Italian all over the world and this is as good as anything I've ever had! We had a Caesar salad that was big enough to share. I had the cheese ravioli and my husband had the chicken Parmesan. Generous portions and so delicious! Highly recommend. The piano player was a nice touch. Service was excellent. Will be back our next visit to Vegas.
google avatar

Daniela C.

Yelp
Went for my anniversary and was pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of the food. Very reasonably priced for the portion sizes. We enjoyed live piano and it was overall a great experience. Will definitely return and recommend.

Yelp
What a wonderful hidden gem this restaurant is! I met up with 9 other friends, separate checks were handled professionally and with no attitude. We shared some Fried Calamari to start, it was served with 2 different sauces, which was not expected. All my friends ordered something different, and while it was not delivered at the same time, everyone raved about the taste of their choices! I'm confident I had the very best Mushroom Ravioli I've ever had. The server checked on us often, without being overly intrusive, and he was humorous as well. We all shared Creme Boulle and Tiramisu for dessert, just as delicious as anything you'd find on the Strip. The wine list and menu may seem minimal compared to larger restaurants, but the casual, warm ambience, and quality of food and beverages made for a most entertaining evening. You don't need a huge choice of Italian fare to leave full and fulfilled! I hope this place succeeds, but not to the point where I have trouble getting in! If you dine here, don't eat all day, sample all you can from the menu. You will not be disappointed. I'm looking forward to returning here. I avoid the Strip because I'm a local, this spot is the bomb.

Eloina E.

Yelp
Marvelous piano player Ryan; incredible foods! The customer service is superb, this place is a gem!!! Pricing is reasonable, normal. We definitely will come back, with friends and family. Highly recommended !

Yelp
My wife and I decided to try Le Sorelle based on the few reviews online. The pictures looked good, so we wanted to check it out for happy hour. The space is beautiful inside and the staff was very welcoming. We sat at the bar and had a sangria and mojito. We thought that both drinks were about the best we ever had--so, really good! We followed the drinks with coconut shrimp appetizer, which was excellent. Everything was going well, so we decided to order dinner off of the regular menu. We had sole piccata and the eggplant parmesan. Both were well presented and delicious, but we couldn't finish it all so we took some to go. Finally, on the weekends they have a piano player. He is an older guy that comes around and asks you if you want him to play a song. We had him play a few, and he know the songs and could play them without any sheet music. Amazing! It made for a fun night. Of course, don't forget to tip the Piano Man! We would recommend trying this hidden gem. The owner is very nice and we had a wonderful experience.

Tom M.

Yelp
Entering the restaurant we were immediately impressed with the decor of the place, a gentleman was playing piano on a small stage. That was pretty much where the excitement ended. The pre-dinner cocktails served in a rock glasses with such a small amount of liquor did not even cover the olives. Our server not a pleasant individual became a little belligerent when we offered negative comments about our drinks & meal. While leaving I spoke with a young lady who claimed to be a manager & voiced my opinion relative to our experience. She had the deer in the head lights look & was only able to say she was sorry. When we departed there were 12 people left, one table of 8, one booth of 4, not very impressive for a Saturday evening. If one is looking for a nice quiet dinner away from the LV madness, there are much better options.

Yelp
I had never heard of this restaurant until I found them on Groupon. They appeared to have good reviews and decided to give them a try. We checked out the menu that was linked to the Groupon offer and I was excited to try the restaurant. We had reservations and when we arrived they asked if we were using a Groupon. Then the man standing next to the hostess asked her if we were using a Groupon. I found this very uncomfortable. Then when we sat down our waiter again asked if we were using a Groupon. The restaurant was pretty empty at dinner time and there were guests at only two other tables. The decor was dated but everything was clean and appeared to be in good condition. We ordered drinks and I placed an order for my daughter as she was very hungry. We then placed our order for the filet and lamb chops. While we were waiting the waiter brought over the garlic bread and I asked him why they kept asking if we were using a Groupon. At that time the man who has been standing next to the hostess came by and explained that the Groupon menu was different than their standard menu. I explained to him that when I ordered the Groupon the link brought me to the standard menu which had beef options. He told me the Groupon menu only offered chicken and pork. This was not specified when I purchased the Groupon. The Groupon is no longer offered for sale. I think they regretted the offer they were promoting and we're back peddling. Their solution was to offer a menu that would be more profitable for them. Switch and bait ?? These are very deceptive business practices and I would never support a business that would do this.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere and good service. The foodwas delicious and didn't break the bank!! Our waiter was so entertaining. A definite neighborhood gem.

Yelp
I had the grilled octopus, my daughter had the seafood pasta, my friends had mushroom risotto and the eggplant Parmesan. Every one was very happy with our food, the octopus was very tender, and oooh the sautéed vegetables with the crispy potatoes, soooo good. I did not waste it, including what was left and took it home. Yummy! Place was cozy and enjoyed our conversation while the guy was playing piano. It was very loud to us, but he was very nice. Staff were friendly, will look forward to returning for the daily happy hour!

Christine P.

Yelp
We went here for my wedding Anniversary and had a terrific meal !! The place is beautiful and the piano player is super !! I had a delicious Ceaser Salad and the Seafood Risotto Both were delicious !! My husband had the Gnocchi , which he loved ! Very filling The entire staff was friendly and we will definitely come back to this cozy little hidden gem

Sharon L.

Yelp
What a find! This place is a real treasure! Entered to an elegant space with live piano! Arugula salad was huge with a perfectly seasoned dressing. Normally I get dressings on the side bc restaurants frequently over-do dressings or they're bitter but forgot to ask - no worries here - the greens were garden-fresh crisp. Also had the Sole Piccata - huge filet, delicious sides. Others had Lasagna but the star was the Eggplant Parmesan - featherlite coating on the eggplant that remained crisp with a light coating of a seriously flavorful sauce! Service was impeccable! We'll absolutely return!

Yelp
I have eaten here a couple of times. The service is very prompt and precise and they go out of their way to please. Food is plentiful and tasty. The piano player can play anything and it's overall a great experience

Yelp
Decided we wanted good Italian food. Opened the Open Table App and La Sorelle was one of the closest to show up. So glad it did! Amazing service from our hostess/waitress, delicious food and drinks and the piano player was awesome too. Overall wonderful experience!

Yelp
By far the best Italian restaurant I have been to. The Alfredo is amazing as well as the chicken Marsala. It quiet, intimate, and the service is fantastic!

Doreen C.

Yelp
The food was great we had mussels and clams as an appetizer Paella and pasta with Vodka sauce . We loved that the servers were friendly and we did not feel rushed . We enjoyed or dinner with a piano player very enjoyable. We cannot wait to go back

Yelp
Valentine's Day dinner ruined. We decided to try a new restaurant for our special day and it was regrettably the wrong decision. This restaurant doesn't have their stuff together. We were immediately seated and it took 20 minutes for them to bring us water. The couple next to us had their food delivered but had to wait several minutes to get utensils. After waiting 45 minutes with no food, no drinks and not even a refill of our water, we walked out. Terrible experience, untrained staff, poor ambience is the reason we will never return.
google avatar

Linda B.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem. We split a Caesar salad. The Parmesan cheese made it- great flavor! We ordered meatballs, and fish (sole). The wine selection was perfect for the food. There was a piano player who was amazing (and he took requests). I loved the ambiance. And the service was attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely be making this a regular spot.

Yelp
This is a great Italian restaurant. Friendly bartender make great cocktails and an Italian chef makes great Italian food. I highly recommend the Arancini as an appetizer. We had a group here for dinner with 27 people and the service was excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely be back again.

Karryn S.

Yelp
Fantastic food, surperb entertainment... the grand piano in the middle of the room is an elegamt touch and the piano player, Bob Sherman, is the best I've heard, he is truly gifted
