As usual, my dining partner ordered steak frite with a pepper sauce, which I liked a whole lot more than my honey sauced duck plate. The sauce was so sweet, I felt like I was eating a a meat-flavored dessert. I ate about half before I gave up.
My dish, however, didn't prevent me from getting la gourmand (mousse, creme brulee, almond sponge cake, espresso). None of those really stood out, but it was a nice way to finish lunch and lounge around before going back out in the rain.
Even though I'm giving Le Soufflet three stars, I want to make a note about how much I enjoyed being here for lunch. Lots of people were having drama the day I went; a college-aged girl was crying and was being comforted by people who looked like a mom and a brother, an old woman gave the dirtiest side eyes to an even younger girl who spent half an hour putting on makeup while her boy-friend stared at her chest, etc. There was one small table that was used by three different white-bearded men, each wearing herringbone blazers and reading newspapers, over a period of 2.5 hours. I'd come back with a notebook and a sweet tooth any day!
