Taste Tahitian Cuisine in the Capital of French Polynesia

"Run by chef Tereva Galopin, this breakfast-and-cooking experience begins at dawn with market shopping for fresh fish and ingredients like pua'a roti (sweetened roast pork) to recreate a Sunday family feast; the morning is convivial and unpretentious—guests are sometimes offered a glass of wine at 7 a.m.—and emphasizes local rhythms and flavors." - Alexandra Owens

I have made a very nice experience here. Our food and wine was delicious. Our server was very patient with my french and accommodating with our little „accident“ of ordering intestines. A very french restaurant! The ambience is really cozy. 🇫🇷 If you are nice, you might get a shot after payment ;)

Excellent service in both French and English when required (we slipped back and forth if the subject matter was complex but our server always returned to French when we did). That’s one of the things we look for since we try to speak the language of our host country as much as possible. Filet de hareng was very tasty and the pommmes vapeur perfect. Magret de canard equally delicious with helping side helping of pommes de terre puréed avec lashings of beurre. Tarte tatin came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We had a lovely experience and a relaxing lunch.

We were out for a stroll and came upon this lovely brasserie. It was after 2:00 pm, but we were enthusiastically welcomed in for lunch. Our server, Romy, was absolutely delightful! He spoke perfect English to my husband, and he was extremely kind and patient with my French (which I know is filled with errors). We had a delightful and relaxed lunch with lots of good conversation. My smoked salmon was fresh and wonderful. My husband ordered le boeuf special, which he said was delicious. Our lunch was a fantastic experience of fine food, excellent service, and a nice respite from city bustle. Hope to see you again, Romy! Highly recommend Le Sully!

Fantastic! Our family enjoyed everything from starters to dessert, absolutely delicious. At all times, the service from everyone there was incredibly friendly and attentive. A short walk from the river, the atmosphere both inside where we ate and outside on the terrace was a perfect french vibe. Stop in to eat or drink, you will not be disappointed.

Le Sully, a charming Parisian brasserie located at 6 Boulevard Henri IV, 75004 Paris, is a delightful spot for lunch, especially given its proximity to Notre-Dame. My recent visit left a strong impression, with the food being both delicious and reasonably priced for the area. The menu features classic French dishes, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, reflecting the restaurant’s status as a Maître Restaurateur since 2013. I opted for a hearty main course, which was generously portioned and bursting with authentic flavors, complemented by a well-paired glass of wine from their thoughtfully curated selection. The ambiance is quintessentially Parisian, with a cozy, vintage decor that blends 1920s charm with modern comfort. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience despite the bustling lunchtime crowd. Prices, averaging €15-€25 per person, feel fair for the quality and location, making it an excellent choice for those seeking affordable yet satisfying meals near Notre-Dame. The outdoor terrace is a bonus for people-watching. Overall, Le Sully offers great value, tasty cuisine, and a warm atmosphere, making it a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. I’ll definitely return!

Food was very tasty and the staff was friendly. The canard with peppercorn sauce was wonderful.

The service and food are both fantastic. This restaurant is outside of the main attractions of Paris, so it feels more authentic to visit here and it's not as busy. You can get local cuisine and very friendly service in both French or English. I have an allergy as well and I was happy to eat there.

Google
We visited Le Sully randomly on monday 29th of april, for a late lunch and we loved it! I had the menu with three courses and yes, the charcuterie plate could endure some cheese as well, but everything was delicious, the staff was funny and nice, and we liked the chill atmosphere. Can recommend this place!

Yelp
There is a soft charm to this place, a story yet to be discovered, the decor hints of the golden age, with brass, glass, and wood around adding to its warmth and story. At first, I asked, why did the hotel hostess recommend this place? It felt something close to a cafeteria for the elderly. But the wood and brass said give me a chance. It was 1pm and I had yet to have a proper breakfast, so I said. Ok. I'll order and write and catch up with myself here. It's time, so much has happened. I ordered the duck, I love duck!! Haha, this duck is not on my love list, it made the eat it and move on list. Here, "we don't heat up bread in France" was the tag line, but they did reheat my duck and mash potatoes when they got cold. The music is nice, chill pop jazz of sorts. They brought a carafe of water when I didn't order a drink, and went to the bathroom. The bathroom feels like you enter a cellar, they need a makeover here for sure! I don't like when people spray to clean the table when people are eating nearby, the aerosols cover my tongue and nose and impacts my joy and taste of the food. Spraying into the cloth contains the aerosols, and using vinegar and essential oils is much more healthy and pleasurable. The waiter was nice, even though he didn't warm my bread, and we did ok between our mutual language gap. So 3 stars it is

Yelp
Paris restaurants stand at a crossroads on the tipping issue. Service , by French law, is included in your tab. Driven by American tipping culture, and aided by those POS credit card machines that offer you a "choice" of tipping at varying percentages, Paris restaurants face the dilemma of following tradition of many years (relying on the built-in service charge) or trying to beguile the unsuspecting into adding "tips" IN ADDITION TO service. Often, American tourists, not knowing that service is included in France (by law) succumb and add an additional "tip." (By my own observation, French customers are spared this insult, presumably because they know better.) Le Sully has fallen victim to this sleight-of-hand, telling English-speaking customers: "Service is included but tips are NOT included." Technically, what they say is accurate. But the understandable confusion in the minds of tourists is designed to procure tips when tips were never warranted in the past, and are not suggested to their French customers today. Shame on you Le Sully!

Yelp

Yelp
Its May, its 28 degrees, you have just arrived in Paris and finally escaped the very warm metro!! Across the road you see an oasis of chairs and the promise of beer!! Thats what brought me to this little establishment and well it was ok. Beer and some complimentary pretzels made for a good rest point before we marched on to the aprtment. Friendly waitress and a good spot to people watch on what is a very busy junction!

Yelp
The girl took our order and brought us... well brought me... my drink. My friend got water, which she never brought. We waited an hour for the waitress to come back to help us and order food and she never did, nor would bring us the check for my drink. Worst restaurant in Paris by far!!! Only reason I gave it one star was because I had to give some kind of star rating.

Yelp
French bread with butter and preserves, and American coffee with warm cream. Excellent, very friendly, and speaks English well enough to joke around. Sit at the seats inside by the window and people watch at this busy intersection. A real pleasure. Start here to walk toward Notre Dame via Ile St Louis.

Yelp
I entered the cafe earlier this afternoon at 4.30 pm and asked the waiter very politely and in French whether I could possibly use their bathroom. His smile vanished immediately and he told me it was only for customers. He didn't even apologize or offered me to pay for the usage, he just turned me away with a cold face. Who would turn away a visibly pregnant woman like that? Also, I might have actually had a look at the menu as I had deliberately looked for a place that looked inviting, but a restaurant that employs people cruel enough to refuse a visibly pregnant woman entry to the bathroom doesn't deserve any customers. This man should not be employed in a cafe, or anywhere where he comes into contact with people. Be careful where you take your money.
