Slowly trying all the Uyghur spots. Tried Le Taklamakan for a Sunday dinner. Service was friendly. If you want to try the pyramid or quail kebab, call 24 hours in advance to pre-order. - Beef tripe salat ($9.00) - mostly onion, red pepper and jalapeno peppers (slight kick) - Cucumber salat ($8.00) - cucumbers had a pleasant crunch, but too much sauce - Bean jelly salat ($8.00) - plain, skippable - Lamb kawap ($15.00 for 3) - standard skewers - Uyghur pilaf ($20.00) - rice was flavourful, came with a decently sized lamb shank - Big chicken plate ($55.00 large) - massive. Noodles were good, plenty of chicken/potato - Uyghur steamed dumpling ($20.00) - lamb filling was gamey. Never received the nan Another solid place to eat Uyghur food.

I had a very good experience the first time but the second time that I went there last week was a mess. It was quite busy that night and we waited 20min to finally get a menu to read. I asked them several times to help us clean the table, which was never done and the waiter at the cashier was very rude to me. When we received the pitcher for the water on our table, it was so dirty the outside. I can tell that thing was not washed before getting into our table. We ordered the naan at the same time with other food but we only received them until we were more than half way done with the rest of food. The naan was definitely not made fresh, because the bottom turned a bit wet and the inside was so dry. I asked the waitress to return it and cancel it because this was so not edible. She told back and few minutes later take the same thing back to us. I was explaining to her again that we wanted to cancel this because it was not done properly. And a few moments later she get back with another one , it’s like she couldn’t understand our request. We ended up paying that but didn’t eat it at all. We took it back home because we didn’t want to waste it. Nonetheless, we throw them away cuz it was still very hard to chew. Considering the service, food and entertainment, Not recommended at all.

The best Xinjiang cuisine I’ve ever found in Montreal! Tasty and the portions are enormous! We used to go to Tarim near Concordia but sadly it was closed a while ago.

This place is AMAZING. A HIDDEN GEM The lamb is super tender and filled with flavor. The cumin compliments lamb perfectly. The fried noodles are to die for. I love spicy so it was amazing. You can request to make it less spicy if you prefer. The steam dumplings (manti) are filled with onion and are suuper juicy. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. Feels super welcoming and kind of feels like home

Authentic and delicious Uyghur dishes! Good price and large portions. Hidden gem. Definitely would come back. Highly recommend!

Nice ambience and dishes focused on western Chinese cuisines, which is a mix of Arab and chineses dishes. Surprising and tasteful, I think this is a very interesting fusion of so different cultures. Price and portion sizes are pretty good too.

The first experience here was more than awesome. We were amazed by their portion sizes. We'd ordered Lamb Kebab, Cumin Lamb, Special Leghman (Lamb), Chicken Plate, Dry Fried Noodles (Beef) & their special Naan. Each and every item tasted individually different and great. The spice level was to our satisfaction and everything was prepared fresh. The owner informed us that this is their first day of re-opening after COVID-19 close down since March 2020 and so we had the honor to be one of their first customers today. We were also presented with their traditional tea after food, to make the experience wholesome. Would definitely recommend this place and return again if visit back Montreal. Two thumbs up ! 👍🏼👍🏼

First time having Uyghur food, and man it was not a disappointment.... delicious and definitely one of my favorites so far in MTL. This place is much nicer than you'd expect given the limited online presence and strip mall location. To be clear, this restaurant is not in Super C, it is down the road from Super C and shares a large parking lot with the shopping center. The owner of the place recommended the Big Chicken Plate and the Lamb Qordak. The chicken plate had bone-in tender chicken pieces with wide noodles and a really flavorful brown/red sauce and veggies, generously portioned. The Lamb Qordak had a little bit fattier cuts of meat, still bone in, with root vegetables, another savory sauce, and most interesting of all, it was served on top of a large piece of like deep-dish flat bread that didn't get overly soggy despite being submerged under a ton of sauce, again generous portions. The flavor combinations were new to me and very comforting, like some good soul food to warm your bones on a cold winter day. Also got the Dry Fried Noodles, which were mildly spicy but probably the biggest crowd pleaser. I bet they'd be even better if you ordered the chopped version. And finally, we also got some lamb samsas, which were a little light on meat for some, but I thought the balance was pretty good, and I loved the flavor of the lamb and overall texture. It was good to mop up some sauce with these. Service was friendly and unhurried, it took about 30 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. We got it take-out, so that is definitely an option. We'll be coming back! One final note: not everything on the menu is always available. Apparently there are special dishes served on the weekends.

Not a deep menu but the noodles are great and so is the big chicken dish. Authentic Uighur food is pretty hard to find in Montreal and this is probably the best.
