"The lively, vibrant Matongé district is home to an equally buzzy neighbourhood eatery: Le Tournant. People drop in to sample a glass of “natural” wine (trust the sommelier – he knows his job!) and dig into unfussy, nostalgic dishes reminiscent of grandma’s cooking, together with a few more modern bistro recipes. Examples include gutsy beef cheeks braised in Orval beer or lamb in dried figs. Every dish is an authentic festival of flavour!" - Michelin Inspector

The restaurant was very cosy and had tasteful interior, which pleases an aesthetic eye like mine. The food and the wine were excellent and the waiter Kevin was super friendly with us and professional offering the best wine pairings - Merci Kevin! 🍷

A lovely restaurant interior with nice welcome. Wine is well priced and the food was decent. There is a 3-course menu offered for 45 euros but if you only want to pay 45 then it is fairly limited because there are supplements on many of the dishes. First time and will certainly go back.

Lovely bistro style restaurant, the food was amazing and we felt really welcome and well taken care of. Their wine is something special! It's a place to sit down, relax and enjoy your meal, I wouldn't recommend it if you are in a rush. The service is super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the boar stew and the fruit crumble.

A very nice restaurant, superb service from such a small kitchen and few staff. We were a large group that occupied half of the restaurant, but we were very well served. The staff were very efficient and extremely knowledgeable regarding the paired wines. 3 course meal with a different wine at each course. Very reasonably priced, and excellent food and wine. The staff have a great sense of humour, and spoke English well.

Admittedly, I couldn't resist the tantalizing descriptions of food in the Michelin guide, so I felt compelled to experience it firsthand. Opting for the €45 three-course menu, I indulged in a sinful pleasure as my first choice – the Homemade semi-cooked Foie Gras from La Sauvenière farm, and it was nothing short of exquisite. The Beef Tartare that followed was even better, with a unique addition of Trumpets of Death mushrooms that with their meaty texture and nutty flavor, created a harmonious combination. However, the experience took a turn for the worse thereafter. Waiting an extended period for the dessert, Light Mousse with Bitter Valrhona Guanaja Chocolate and Roasted Sesame, which sounded promising, turned out to be a letdown. It fell short of the high expectations set by the previous dishes, tasting more like a generic chocolate mousse you'd find in any store. The €25 wine pairing also left me also pondering why is called wine pairing. Substituting the dessert wine with an unexpectedly sweet Kystin Kalysie cider was a surprise. The taste was pleasant, boasting flavors of pear with hints of ginger and citrus. Nonetheless, for a wine pairing, I had anticipated a beverage with a higher alcohol content than the 2% found in the cider. To add to the disappointing experience, there was a final letdown of waiting for more than 20 minutes to settle the bill in a not overly crowded establishment. In summary, the dinner stretched out to an hour and a half. The first half-hour was delightful, with two outstanding dishes that lived up to the enticing descriptions in the Michelin guide that initially drew me in. However, the following hour was marred by two prolonged waiting periods and a forgettable dessert combination that dampened my enthusiasm for the exceptional first courses. If this were my local neighborhood restaurant, I might be more forgiving. However, considering it is not, the overall experience left much to be desired.

Horrible experience, after having to throw up in their toilet my girlfriend told them I was not feeling well and would like to go. They added a dessert and wine charge to our receipt which we did not order. After visiting the doctor it was made clear I got food poisoning and the only things I ate were here but I am guessing their steak tartare was the culprit. Horrible experience. Getting sick by one’s food is one thing but overcharging is a step I wont tolerate. Highly avoid coming here. Edit: Food poisoning can start after 30 minutes, I did not fall asleep I had huge migraines but thank you for trying to shift the blame on me.

Went for dinner during a short trip to Brussels. Found this restaurant via the Michelin guide, and went because it had received a Michelin Bib. The €45 3 course dinner was fantastic. We added the wine pairing for €25 which was also excellent and I thought it was a decent value.

Excellent evening with great food and wine, but most importantly, personable, friendly and attentive service. I would highly recommend and look forward to my next visit!

Yelp
We stumbled upon this gem when visiting the Matonge neighborhood (it's right outside of it) and ended up eating the best meal we've had in Brussels. Wonderful happenstance. The attention to detail and menu choices blew us away. We came in for lunch and had the second formule--either entree or dessert, substantial main dish, and coffee for 19 euros. Everything was utterly delicious. For starters we had the duck rillettes (like a country pate) and it came with a grapefruit caramel, pickled daikon, and something that resembled a matcha powder. We were four so for the main dishes we had the lamb and prune stew, the duck with confit lemon and fennel, the fish of the day, and the rabbit. Everything also came with rice and lovely cooked vegetables. The braised leek in particular was delectable. To end the mea, we hadl a healthy serving of lemon curd tart (with a thin layer of dark chocolate hidden below) and something that resembled a brownie but was denser and had a richer, more nuanced taste. It came with creme chantilly. We were served by Kevin, who was excellent. He was attentive, but did not hurry us, explained all of the dishes well, was funny and had perfect timing. We were impressed that the chef came out to check on how we liked the food midway and then also stopped by to chat near the end of the meal. We will return!

Yelp
I was in town for a conference and decided to try this place out since it was within very short walking distance of my hotel. The wait staff were very attentive and offered to translate the menu for me since the online menu didn't have any daily specials on it. I settled on the Tartare de boeuf and a glass of wine. Mousse au chocolat was the finisher. The meal and atmosphere were very relaxing. I really like the place and I could tell that the locals were really enjoying it as well. If you're visiting it is worth your time for a small, cozy, and relaxed venue.

Yelp
After reading all the wonderful reviews I rushed here for a dinner after long day of work. I had jumbo spicy shrimps for appetizer and beef tartare for entry. Appetizer was overly salty, although the Sauce was complex and complemented dish well. BTartare was fine, mushrooms added to the interesting taste. However the meat was so chewy that I had to take out the ligaments all the time. Overall - OK experience. Won't come back. PS: everyone in the restaurant are super nice!'

Yelp
After reading some reviews by my fellow yelpers, I decided this place was a must try. Admittedly, I wasn't charmed. -Service is very friendly, but getting someone's attention is quite challenging at times. -My meat (Antilles style) was fatty and chewy (I can tolerate maybe one of the two... but both?). -The wine that was proposed wasn't what I expected. If you're going to offer several options by the glass (from Titulus -the wine bar across the street), you might have people try them first? Overall quite a disappointment, thus.

Yelp
So far I can just say this is one of my favourite restaurants, French cuisine with an exotic touch of the islands. 2amazing cooks Denis and Laurent always eager to see if customers are happy with their meal. They have a nice wine selection from Titulus Quality of food is just perfect and well balanced. I had a few dishes and they are all exquisite. And desserts.. Well.. It goes without saying.. They are superbe. Try the steak
