Le Tripostal

We loved our visit to Pom Pom Pidou at Le Tripostal in Lille. The exhibition over 3 floors was a well thought out journey through the development of modern art. We spent 1.5 hours enjoying the exhibits and thought it wax 12 € well spent.

The Pom Pom Pompidou exhibition at Le Tripostal (until Nov 9th, 2025) is a fabulous journey through modern art. Including Man Ray, Dechamps, Eliasson and movements like Dada and Fluxus.

Contemporary art gallery but not a huge collection, for the ticket price at 18EURO pp, there are better options IMHO. There are 3 floors but the current exhibits are mediocre, nothing stands out and you can breeze through it in 30-45 minutes. Only visit if you are running out of things to do in Lille, otherwise I would pass.

Friendly staff, the gallery was beautiful. Worth it. Written explanation was available in french, english and dutch. Lockers available for storage of your things, for free. Recommend!

Every year Tripostale organized an exhibition around a topic. This year is the Vanhaerents Art Collection "Au bout de mes reves". Last year was Utopy, and so on. So every year is different, what is constant is the good taste of the curators who have an eye for interesting and thought-provoking exhibitions of contemporary art. I am not a big fan of contemporary art, but for the case of Tripostale, this place is the big exception, since the curators somehow always manage to prove me wrong that all contemporary art is rubish. Even if you do not like contemporary art, you should give this place a chance.

Wonderful arts venue. Highly recommended, particularly the Pom Pom Pidou exhibition at the moment.

Cheap entrance and very beautiful expositions. I would recommend!

Excellent gallery space with bar, restaurant, gift shop, rentable special event space, and coat check. Several stories high, vast rooms with clean lines and very high ceilings. Seeing the Saatchi Gallery's Silk Road exhibit there was a sublime and moving experience.
