Le Trou du Diable - Brewpub & Restaurant

We had the most wonderful experience here! Our server (I’m so sorry I didn’t catch his name but he was serving the patio tonight and had blonde hair in a bun) was so kind and attentive. He let us practice our French and was so accommodating, patient, and welcoming. The food was absolutely perfect and my husband couldn’t stop saying how good the beer was. This was our first night in town and we are so happy we got to experience such a wonderful atmosphere and beyond exceptional service - thank you for the amazing experience! :)

Each dishes is amazing! Never thought the days can be delicious with fettuccine. The shrimp taco is fresh and friendly to a people want to get something healthy. The most important is the dessert, please try it and it won’t disappointed you!!

Le Trou du Diable inis a great spot to unwind and enjoy good beer 🍻 Their menu offers good food options, their staff is super kind and I highly recommend trying their beer samplers to explore their diverse brews. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a perfect place to hang out with friends.It's definitely worth a visit for a casual and enjoyable experience.

You haven't really visited Shawinigan if you haven't been to the famous award-winning BrewPub Brasserie Artisanale: Trou du Diable. Great ambiance, wonderful staff, and (no exaggeration) hands down they have the best beers in Canada! What more can you ask for?! For beers, my husband and I both love stouts, so we had to have "Le Sang d'Encre." In all honesty, we love it!!! C'était incroyable!!! We loved it so much that we wished we could buy some and bring it home. But unfortunately, they didn't have it ready in bottles there. We'd have to go and purchase it at their micro-brasserie/boutique next time. It is located not far from the BrewPub. Moreover, we even tried the food while we're there. My husband had the Sauté de cerf (sauteed deer meat), and I had the Bucatini avec crevettes d'Argentine (Bucatini pasta with Argentinian prawns). My husband absolutely loved his sauté de cerf. He said that the deer meat was excellent, tender, and not at all gamy. It had a unique combination of Korean flavors that was well executed. 👍👍 However, I wish I could say the same for my Bucatini. I am usually a huge fan of pasta, and this is my first time trying out this dish. Personally, I thought the capers were overbearing, and there was too much olive oil in the dish. Now, on the contrary, I don't know the rule of thumb for the number of serving prawns on a plate, but it definitely was not enough. 😅 Would I order this dish again? Perhaps not. But, I will try something different next time when we come and visit them again. Overall, we still had a great experience at the Trou du Diable. We will come back for more and also recommend it to our family and friends. Amazing selection of beers and kind staff to help you navigate through it. We loved what we got, highly satisfied of our recommendations based on our discussion with the server. They know their stuff. Sunny terrasse with a nice shade option, you can sit a a table or enjoy your beer on long chairs. The section to eat while you drink was slightly different and looked more crowded.

Very good craft beers, we loved their pale ale McTamish. Lots of choices for beers and the food was tasty too although less options for food. Decoration was funny with 👹 arts. The service was good but as this is not a touristic area, everything was in french. (Of course, no complains about that, we just needed to practice our french so it was good!)

Amazing Microbrewery, I had the beer "la palette" discovery and all beer were good!! Also we had the smoked fish "omble chevalier" with quinoa and it was tasteful and delicious. Service was good. I recomend this place.

Beer tasting, food pub with a twist of gastronomy. Swift service in a lovely location by the water. Very charming place. They won many awards and it showed. I wish i was more hungry to order more!

Amazing Food, Amazing Beer, Amazing Service. But it's not the easiest place to get to......you really gotta wanna get here, but trust me, it's well worth the trip. I've been coming here for 6 years, twice a year, whether I need to or not. This is one of those places that is a "MUST VISIT". If you are traveling here, there's a Hotel right across the street for convenient stumbling. I'm just sayin'.........

Good assortment of home brews and creative beer menu. Service ok, food is good, a little more expensive than most pubs and good atmosphere. Can't wait to try the other brews here.

Great beers and very friendly staff, food a little expensive but not overly so. Overall probably one of the best places to pass an evening in Shawinigan!!
