Le Vintage - The Old Town Wine Shop

Best wine shop in Old Town, hands down! Ben, the owner, is always so welcoming even when I have my little ones in tow. The shop consistently features an excellent variety of wines, and the tastings are a must! I love that there are so many great options available at every price point. Highly recommended!

This charming wine shop is an amazing addition to this section of Old Town that’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the waterfront and surrounded by some of my favorite food establishments. Ben, the owner, is down to earth, genuinely friendly, and kind, which is just a plus because he’s also incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. Popping in and asking for a recommendation is like always having a sommelier at your fingertips, and without the restaurant price markup. There’s an “under $20” section that will still blow out of the water any grocery store selection for a comparable price. They offer free tastings twice a week that also give you a nice discount for anything at the tasting and each one is expertly and thoughtfully put together. I love frequenting this family-owned rockstar establishment (literally, there are guitars hanging up 😏) whenever I’m in the neighborhood. Or maybe it’s why I go to the neighborhood in the first place? In any case, it’s FANTASTIC.

Felt unwelcome. I was looking for a wine but felt like i received a level of service worse than other customers. I asked for recommendation and was given a flippant and unthoughtful response by the person working there. Customers should be treated with respect, consideration, and attentiveness in general rather than selectively. If you see other negative reviews, there’s a clear pattern evident in how they treat customers and responses from the business regarding these concerns berate and belittle people’s experiences griping about how damaging it is for small bussiness etc - i can now attest to the fact that they do in fact offer terrible and unwelcoming customer service selectively and its noted by multiple customers. Edit: the store’s response below is disgusting, aggressive, and false. I spent over 15 minutes in the store (I went inside around 740pm so not particularly late) and witnessed another customer being served for 10 minutes. I was met with rudeness and discourtesy and felt unwelcome and ignored as have other customers in the past. The nasty and aggressive responses to customer’s concerns and experiences are telling. Customers have a right to express their frustrations on this platform rather than risking a conflict in a place where they feel unwelcome and treated badly. I left the place quickly without a purchase and believe it was right to do in that circumstance than to engage an obviously hostile person. There is a clear pattern of discriminatory behavior/ and customer service in this establishment.

Love this neighborhood wine shop! Great selection at affordable prices. I also really appreciate the wine tastings offered on Thursday and Saturday.

Such a beautiful place with POC friendly staffs. The most welcoming winery ever even provided 10 of us free tasting. Can’t wait till we visit there next in town. Highly recommended.

Ben and the Old Town Wine store are the best. Ben is super knowledgeable, extremely friendly and accommodating! He is super helpful with wine selections. I run with a group and he has wine tastings on the same night we run. Most of the runners head over to the wine tasting! He never complains about the number of people or that we are all in running clothes post run. The store and been cannot be more open and friendly!
