Le Violon d'Ingres

"At this luxury neo-brasserie, the duo of Alain Solivérès (the highly experienced former chef of Le Taillevent) and Jimmy Tsaramanana celebrate the South-West of France with impressive technical skill and high-quality ingredients. The sautéed sweetbreads served with a vin jaune sauce and the millefeuille with its light vanilla cream remain two great classics of the house. As for the feel of the place, authenticity and conviviality reign supreme, thanks to a highly professional team. This is a restaurant frequented by bon vivants, and reservations are essential, as tables get snapped up fast." - Michelin Inspector

We had a very enjoyable experience last Saturday. As it was our first Michelin meal in Paris, we came in with high expectations—and they were mostly met. We chose the signature menu. The red mullet and the spelt risotto with lobster were real highlights—both full of flavor and very well prepared. The desserts were also excellent. It was our first time trying millefeuille, which was beautifully done. One of the staff recommended combining the madeleine with caramel sauce, which was a great touch. Service was friendly, professional, and attentive, creating a relaxed but refined atmosphere. A few small points: the first appetizer (gazpacho with a breadstick) was a bit underwhelming, and the dining room was quite warm. On a hot day, better air conditioning would really have improved the experience. Overall, some memorable meals with excellent service—definitely worthy of its Michelin star.

Google
It’s a good experience. All the foods is delicious, langoustine very good, skate wing perfect cooking, pigeon excellent. The only thing needs to improve is the air-condition, it’s a bit hot inside the restaurant. Its a value for money and we will recommend to our friends to come :)

**🌟🇫🇷 A Memorable Parisian Experience! 🌟** Our evening at this charming French restaurant was nothing short of delightful! The service was **impeccable**—attentive, warm, and truly elevated the entire dining experience. Every dish was artfully presented and bursting with flavor, though we found the seasoning *a touch too salty for our personal taste* (a minor note in an otherwise stellar meal!). From the ambiance to the wine pairings, everything felt thoughtfully curated. Highly recommend for anyone seeking authenticity with a touch of elegance. **A must-visit in Paris!** 🥂✨

Google
It was the first trip to France for my wife and me, and also our first visit to a Michelin Guide restaurant. We had made a reservation, and from the very first greeting to the moment we finished our meal and left, we were treated with exceptional service. The food was, of course, excellent, and the wines recommended to pair with each dish were so good that we even asked for name of wines.😁 We are truly grateful to the restaurant and staff for providing such a wonderful experience.👍👍👍

Google
The ambiance was elegant yet cozy, the service attentive without being intrusive, and every dish was a masterpiece. From the delicate starters to the rich, perfectly balanced mains, and a divine dessert to finish — it was French cuisine at its finest. A truly memorable meal.

I have been to this restaurant many years ago when I first came to Paris. I wanted my friends to experience this place and am very happy to report that we’d had a fabulous lunch. The wines recommended, the food served and the wonderfully warm service made this occasion truly special. Thank you. Highly recommend.

Google
I treated myself to dinner here during a solo trip to Paris and it did not disappoint! The staff was so kind and attentive (and yes they can accommodate english) and the food was every bit as delicious as it was beautiful. I got the signature tasting menu with wine pairing. It's impossible to say which item was my favorite, so many wonderful flavors and textures. Dress code is smart casual. *I took a bite out of the second dish before I remembered to take a photo! Presentation was impeccable

Google
Second visit here after a year and still, every dish is just excellent. Love the wellington pigeon and grand marnier soufflé. Cooked to perfection. Excellent service and very friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
We had a great time in this restaurant. Disclaimer, please make sure that you do read the menu especially for dinner. We came in expecting that the five course tasting menu was €80 when the truth was it's actually just for the wine pairing. The 5 course dinner menu which is really €160 per person. Am I mad? Not really because from where we are from , you would really pay almost 1000 per person for a Michelin star experience like this one. However, it would've helped if they had a clearer explanation of the menu. I had a menu restriction where I don't eat meat, and the chef was graceful enough to substitute my entrée for the turbot instead. I heard the angel singing as I was eating my turbot dinner. I really don't eat that much so I probably would've gone better off ordering from just the à la cart menu. Unfortunately, I am deducting one star for this restaurant because they aren't allowing the flexibility for one party to order the five course while the other order the à la cart. For me, this is really a lot of food and wine.

Yelp
Absolutely not a place for tourists. We stayed in Paris for a week and this was worse than anything we could imagine. Over priced, horrible food, horrible service. We went there in hopes of having a nice dinner and souffle. The souffle had a sunny side egg in it. The table next to us that we're locals got a sauce with it. When I asked where our sauce was, the reply was, we don't have a sauce. When I confronted them about the egg, the answer was, yes it's supposed to be like that. Little did they know my wife has been making souffle at home for years.

Yelp
Michelin one star in the 7th. Very good, ticked all the boxes. I had an innovative dish of spelt cooked as a risotto with lobster (yum!) and a really nice riz de veau paired with a young white from Marsannay. Dessert was a strawberry coulis. The only negative (if really a negative) was that the clientele was close to 100% American. It was like I was surrounded by the Real Housewives of New Jersey and their families. So if you're looking for something Parisians are actually going to you might want to look elsewhere, but as far as great food you won't go wrong here. The maitre d' is also an author who wrote a short novel on immigration in France - his concept is very interesting, worth asking about. Very nice service team. Restaurant has no view of the Eiffel Tower (and don't ask them! Though their response is pretty funny) but very nice, prim and proper dining room.

Yelp
The wait staff was great, really made us feel welcome. The ambiance added to the experience and when coupled with the food; it was incredible

Yelp
Rounded off our Euro Michelin meals here. We started in Amsterdam, next up was Berlin then ended at my favorite city in the whole world - Paris. You know how I know my French isn't as good as I thought it was all week? We walked in slightly early for our reservation and the woman who seated us asked if we wanted the menu in french or English and I had not a clue what she said. We laughed when it all clicked in. I am so glad this is the spot I picked when I was going through a list of places to eat at in the city as I have a tradition of having a big meal on the last night. The ambiance here was so chill. We didn't even bother looking at the menu since we already knew we were doing the menu tasting. 7 courses, but no alcohol. I find when I do the wine pairing I end up being full quicker so I've decided to just focus on the food. Being the Americans that we are, I'm fairly certain our meal went a little quicker than normal. The table next to us started before us, but we finished before them. They ate ate. We stopped when the dish wasn't to our liking. There was only one course we didn't care for - the pigeon. That taste did not spark joy in my mouth. I took a couple of bites and tapped out. Overall, out of the 3 Michelin meals we had - this place hands down wins as the best bang for your buck. The Amsterdam tasting was the most expensive, but did come with the most food, some I couldn't finish. The Berlin tasting, while completely vegetarian, was probably the most satisfying. This tasting was the perfect portion and most cost effective. It's7 courses with an amuse bouche and an extra serving of dessert so it felt more like 9 courses really. At the end of the night, we were full and satisfied. If you're here for a late dinner, I highly suggest walking two blocks over to the Eiffel tower and wait for the lights that come on for 5 minutes that starts at the top of the hour. We found the perfect spot and watched it twinkle like we were on top of it. It was a magical moment. Thank you for a great meal!

Yelp
The waitress dropped my hasselblad camera on ground while moved the table didn't even notice Waitress didn't apologize till I asked !Very rude! Through translator still can't settle this issue ask for boss just say free drinks? We refused that, we only cared about the attitude. French service like this very unprofessional. It's a joke! How much is my camera?! Afterwards manager attitude better. It's not done!

Yelp
What a great great experience! We walked by this restaurant by coincidence and we were looking for a dinner spot for the night so we decided to go in. We asked if they take walk in and they did. I highly recommend reservations as the place gets busy and I think everyone else had a reservation. Staffs are super nice and prompt, Juliana helped us a lot on wine recommendations and even gave us tips on where to get good wines on our own. After some warm greetings, we were served with some free appetizers from the restaurant. The green mouse thing (I forgot the name) was so delicious. It's some type of purée with caviar and cream on top. I was snacking on it and know that we made a great choice. Everything we had was delicious, I mean it, everything. From the crab cakes with dill, lobster salad, mushroom risotto (omg, why so delicious, what's the magic ingredient?!) to tuna fish, pigeon Wellington style. Desert is also fantastic, cream Mille is so perfect we were full and still managed to ate them all. Then again, they gave us more free desert at the end and we managed to finish those too! I'm definitely recommending this place to my friends who will travel to Paris later. I really wish I would've dressed up a little for this nice occasion.

Yelp
This was our first Michelin experience during our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! The entire dinner ensemble was curated with such delicious intention and detail. The crab remoulade and duck foie gras was a great start for our palate. We enjoyed the sea bass more than the Wellington style pigeon personally as it was a little more gamey for our preference. But we absolutely melted in to dessert with the Ossau-lraty raw sheep's milk cheese and then the Profiteroles with bourbon vanilla. The staff was excellent and made our experience personalized for our honeymoon and also seated us somewhere a little more private!

Yelp
Fancy enough to offer great food and deserve a Michelin star. Casual enough for a family lunch and good conversation.

Yelp
The food was delicious. In particular the lobster ravioli/ bisque, the veal and the pigeon. The service was exceptional. And there was a good choice of various wines. Our red wine was really good. Unfortunately in terms of ambiance, they badly need to dim the lights. Other than that, our thoughts were very positive. .

Yelp
my first michelin dining experience was enlightening! we came in for the 2-course lunch meal €58/person. excellent, attentive service. they accommodated to our tourist needs (like needing an outlet and wifi). the food presentation was exquisite and you could tell each dish was prepared with care. I personally really loved both the starters--the truffle ravioli in broth and the scallops. the portion size for the beef was much larger than the fish but both were rich in flavor. left very very full and they gave a surprise little treat!

Yelp
This restaurant was simply lovely! The staff are exceptional and extremely friendly. I made a reservation (highly recommended), but for the wrong day, but they were able to still get us in. The quality of the dishes was high and portions were perfect. The only issue I had was with the soufflé; they poured in way too much Grand Marnier which overpowered the flavor of the soufflé itself. I ordered the pigeon and it will be a dish I dream about until I go back!

Yelp
Agréable salle au décor chic et raffiné. Nous avons aimé nos plats et desserts. Avons apprécié les amuse bouches et mignardises offertes par la maison. Dommage, le pain était un peu caoutchouc. Pleasant and refined décor in the dining room. We both liked our main course and desserts. We appreciated the "amuse-bouche" (small appetizers) a mignardises (mini cakes) which were complimentary. Unfortunately, the bread was not crunchy enough.

Yelp
Amazingly delicious. Attentive and kind. Wine pairing was exceptional and highly recommended with their tasting menu! Nothing bad to say, just go hungry and enjoy!

Yelp
I came here during my honeymoon. Need I say more. We also visited Robuchon and other high power establishments. This wins on charm, and value for euro. Location could not be better.

A Michelin restaurant with exceptional service. Wonderful pairings one of which made me revert to a better time and brought a tear of happiness. Excellent set menu

Yelp
If you walk too fast, you'll miss this gem and possibly some of the greatest cuisine in the area. We chose to visit this restaurant at the last minute - the best decision of our trip to Paris! An absolute must if you're in the area and looking for a dinner spot. Did I mention Michelin Star worthy???

Yelp
Simply amazing! Enjoyed our meal and service was great. Veal sweetbread was so well prepared and you forget what you are eating. Pigeon and foie gras were also well prepared. Loved the asparagus appetizer.

Yelp
My dad and I were planning on eating at Chez L'Ami Jean, but when we arrived at opening, we found out that they were fully booked. We weren't that hungry, however, so we started walking to the Eiffel Tower. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. When we got there, we found out that it is one Michelin starred, so we thought we would've be seated due to our casual attire and no reservation. To our surprise, the host was super friendly and welcoming, and squeezed us in at the one open table until 9pm. Everyone spoke English really well, and each waiter explained the dishes of the menu to us clearly. My dad and I got the beef consommé with foie gras and the spider crab jelly appetizers. Both amazing! We ordered the pigeon and the lamb for our main dishes. Incredible! The pigeon and lamb were both cooked so well and super tender. I got the pear dessert with caramel ice cream. I usually don't enjoy desserts with warm fruit, but I thought I'd give it a try because it seemed to be the most popular item. My dad and I trusted the waiter on each dish, and we're glad we did! This is my third time in Paris, and even with two more days left of my stay, I think I can safely say that this was the best meal I've had in Paris.

Yelp
A fantastic first Michelin experience at a Christian Constant resto. First thing that's noticeable is the warm service even though we showed up dripping from the rain and carrying a most unfashionable backpack. The place feels classy without being uptight. Opted for the 3-course lunch menu, very reasonably priced at 55 euros. I had an egg-based starter with very creamy consistency (the French name fails me now). My partner's tartare was the best we had in Paris (ok we just had two, but still). We both opted for the veal main which was a pretty large portion with a nice fatty layer which I also ate without shame. The Hot Grand Marnier soufflé made me wish for a second stomach. Again a huge serving and warm and jiggly. The server pours the Grand Marnier at the table and it was just the best. Hostess also willingly offered to take our picture. Bonus points for friendliness

Yelp
Gah! Don't do it. I wasted my big fancy dinner in Paris on this place because I was fooled by the Michelin star and the TripAdvisor reviews. The house manger messed with us because my husband didn't speak French and was doing the ordering (I do, so I know that he did). We ended up getting charged €50 for four soft boiled eggs! He also upsold us to a really expensive bottle of wine, which the busboy tried to take off of the serving table in the back when it was half full. I saw it and called him on it, in French, and he put it back. The food had issues too. I ordered the veal medium, it was very rare. My husband ordered the veal special medium, it was over cooked. The desserts were the only really good part, but nothing was worth the price.

Yelp
Since we were going to check out the Eiffel, a good friend recommended we dine here at Le Violin d'Ingres. We made reservations online at thefork which was super easy. Walked in to find out we were a bit underdressed but service was outstanding. As we browsed the menu, the waiter brought out warm baguette and butter along with some salami and fresh radish, all of which were amazing! They did have a lunch set menu which seemed like a bargain at €45 but the appetizer didn't seem as appealing as the soft boiled egg rolled in bread crumbs that I ended up ordering. The soft boiled egg was simply amazing! Two perfectly soft boiled eggs rolled in some tasty bread crumbs served with some greens and some sliced bread. A definite must order and am thankful the waiter recommended this over the foie gras. For my entree, I was torn between the veal and the beef my way. I ended up ordering the veal and though it was tasty and perfectly cooked, the sauce did get a bit old towards the end. Their take on mac n cheese was awesome as well. What was weird was that they served a small piece of romaine lettuce which I didn't even try. I was stuffed beyond belief with both the app and entree that we couldn't even order the soufflé as we had planned. They did bring out fresh madeleines and pecan brittle which were amazing but we just couldn't put them down. Would definitely come back to dine here again.

Yelp
Bonjour a warm greeting at the door as it's being open for you to enter by the hostess. All the staff members are very friendly and wait patiently as I was very indecisive on what to order for our last meal before we leave to fly back home. Each entrees was described and explained in details. Everything that was served to us was just superb. If have time I could stay there all day to try each and every entree on their menu. But unfortunately we had to leave. As our bill (linen type up receipt) being process, the hostess came by to give us a freshly baked Madeline cookies. I almost ask for the whole basket. It was warm, crispy, lemony and ooh so moist. It's that simple touch that makes you want to go back. And that what makes them a Michelin star restaurant

Yelp
The staff was exquisite. Especially the manager, Bruno. Attentive, responsive, accommodating and sincere. We recommend this place highly.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and had a wonderful time. We had the tasting menu plus one additional appetizer that was the special of the day. The food was really good and the atmosphere even better. Even though it was fine dining, it didn't feel stuffy and we were OK dressed in jeans and a button down shirt. Majority of the patrons were tourists and the staff was fluent in English so it made it very easy. My server moved me to a larger table because I had a knee injury and he wanted to ensure I had enough space to stretch out. So nice! The food was as good as it looked. The desserts I tried were good but not great. They had soufflé on the menu but it wasn't part of the tasting menu so I didn't try it but it looked really good. They had a extensive wine list. We stated our price range and qualities we like in wine and our server selected us a bottle from the Bordeaux region that we liked. I had a wonderful dining experience and would recommend this place.

Yelp
2nd time there and never disappointed. Amazing service, one of the most approachable Michelin star restaurants in the city. A real people pleaser, a lot of options in terms of price point and flavors on the menu. Perfect if you are going to be near les invalides.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here the night I got engaged, while on vacation in Paris and it was certainly worth the treat! We got the tasting menu, which included food I had never eaten before (like uni, foie gras, and pigeons! Yes pigeon) yet everything was just so superb. This is what a true Michelin restaurant looks like- and deserves to be! Bravo and thanks for making my experience so memorable.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service and food tonight. Great wine by the sommelier and the food we ate, from the small starters and bread were just amazing. Entrees were great and the dessert... soufflé was insanely good. We added both the grand marnier and the salted caramel.
google avatar

EJ T.

Yelp
Warm welcome immediately on entering. Promptly seated even though we were ten minutes early. Quaint coat storage over your table. Not stuffy, friendly staff. Knowledgeable of wines, made then accessible to us even though we are not familiar with wines. Clean, quiet, comfortable space. Food was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and left us wanting more. This was our first time at a restaurant with a Michelin Star. If you haven't been to one, my girlfriend and I highly recommend trying this one out. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is welcoming.
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Amazing! The best service we've had yet in Paris, and the food was equally as amazing. We had the lobester app, I had the turbot, my husband the pigeon and we ended with the soufflé, which was outstanding. We highly recommend if you're in Paris.

Yelp
We had weekday lunch special (~48 euros for 2 courses, ~55 euros for 3) and it was amazing! I got oyster and salmon tartare, duck fillet and cream brûlée, my dad, foie gras and duck fillet, my mom, pumpkin soup and duck, and everything we had was sooooo good. Tartare wasn't fishy but super fresh, soft and refreshing. I once had gamey foie gras so I didn't even want to try when my dad offered me a bit but once I tried, it had this nice balance with the rest of the dish and my mind was blown. I heard beef stew isnt so hot here but everything we tried here was just awesome. We paid about 163 euros with 10% tip included for three people and the service was also very good. We were actually in line for a cheaper restaurant by this place so when we decided to just go in here, I got a little worried cuz we weren't dressed up AT ALL and my parents were just sent here so they don't really speak french. Nevertheless we felt very welcomed by the lady at the desk, she was soooo nice and respectful, and I could tell that a lot of the staffs work really hard and have passion for what they do and I felt this nice energy in the restaurant thanks to them. :)))) I would def go again and bring my friends here

Yelp
The jewel of the three Christian Constant restaurants in a row along Rue Saint Dominique in the 7th in Paris. More formal than the other two, this one promises an exquisite experience. It delivers. We booked a day before and were willing to eat early in Paris, at 1900. We were the first diners there, and were welcomed and seated. The wine list is of course comprehensive and we started with a champagne. The meal and the service were exemplary. Attentive service respectful of the rhythm of our evening together. Her scallops and pasta were simple and elegant, my pigeon a lesson in the best way to prepare fowl. The Chassagne- Montrachet that accompanied it all was a revelation... fresh and a bit of flint. The setting was crisp linen and bright light in tones of cream and gold. Service a combination that embodies "French service", formal and professional with a touch of intimacy. A highlight of our week in this amazing city.

Yelp
It's really good food... so why the 3-star... dunno... just not my thing I guess... started with lobster rav - yummy... sweetbreads for entree - yes indeed and finished with grand marnier suffle (with caramel - yuk).. Service was attentive and our waiter/manager was on top of things... but in all honesty he was much less than he thought he was... we saw on 2 occasions over the course of the night, him berate servers/buss staff... in other words, he's a bully.. Tried to be funny but it was arrogance that showed not humor... oh well, forget about him, let's focus on the restaurant, It was blasé with interior of any modern simple american set-up... nothing fancy, nothing elegant... I realize minimalistic can at times be elegant but not in this case... Seriously the food was good... just not going to drive across town for this place... meric avou.

Yelp
We made a reservation at this restaurant (a few months ago) after reading all the positive reviews. And also, we wanted to try a Michelin restaurant in France to see how the quality of food differed from the US. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation time, but we were able to be seated quickly by the host. In the beginning, the waitress was very attentive. However, as the restaurant became more crowded, she was less attentive. It looked like she was the only waitress working that night because I saw no other person. Every person had their own job function. Our waitress not only took our order but when it was served, she also explained every dish to us. And she did this to every table. So it was understandable that she, alone, could not give every table the same attention. In the beginning, we were given parmesan bread sticks, bread and butter. Then, we were also given bread puffs with a whipped fish and potato dipping sauce. Even though it was tasty, I'm not a fan of fish in my spread. For starters, we had the tuna tartar. My mom and I shared that dish. We were expecting to share a plate but instead they divided the tuna in half and served it on separate plates. It was so flavorful and delicious. My brother and my dad did not order a started but they were given a complimentary dish. For the main course, I had almond crusted sea bass. It was soft and flaky and the crust had a nice crunch. And it was a decent size too for a Michelin restaurant. My parents got the lobster and my brother got the veal. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dish. For the dessert, we had the souffle and chocolate cake. As with the tuna tartar, the chocolate cake was divided into 2 plates. For the soufflé, the waitress added extra Grand Marnier and caramel sauce. Both dishes were decadent and great way to end the meal.

Yelp
I tried to like it. I really did. Okay, okay. So my boyfriend and I went to visit Paris (it was my first time in Europe), but we procrastinated and held off finding a place for dinner until the literal morning of in which we began clicking on spots through Google Maps. We stumbled upon this place, a restaurant with a Michelin Star and a 7-course tasting menu for 130€ each (which, for a college student and a fresh-out-of-college person, is a lot but not impossible). So I thought, what the hell? It's my first time in Europe. Let's do it. We get to the place. Expectations are reasonably high. ... And they came crashing down. We were given these little cracker sticks when we were seated. They were incredibly stale, and I didn't even finish one. Of course, I looked past this, as I'm sure the star wasn't for some top-quality cracker sticks. When the first two courses came out, my boyfriend made small remarks the food was good. I agreed. The food was good. But it was just... good. Like, the 5€ salmon baguette I had that morning was great. This was just... good. Then the third course came out (this is how mediocre it was. I can't even remember any detail of what I ate). By the time I was finished with it, I looked at my boyfriend and I asked him "do you think it's possible that because we're so young, they're skimping out on real ingredients because they think that we can't possibly know any better?" Somewhere during the 5th course, my boyfriend stopped eating his plate. There was some ravioli-like item, and he said: "this isn't worth getting full over." That's right, folks. 130€ for food not even getting full over. TL;DR: the food was mediocre at best. Maybe it /was/ because we were young and they skimped out on ingredients, convinced that we couldn't tell. But I sure as hell know good food when I've had it, and this was not it. Oh, also, they charged me 16€ for water.

Yelp
Unpretentious (you can come in with jeans and a polo), every dish we had was good and some were amazing. Their team was attentive and intuitively knew when to check on us and when to leave us to simply enjoy. Thank you :)

Yelp
Fantastic, Amazing, Delicious. What else can I say. I love this restaurant. This may be one of the best places to eat in Paris. Make sure you get reservations a long time in advance since this is a very small venue and it fills up fast. I had a chef's choice dinner and let him decide what to bring me. I definitely wasn't disappointed. From soup with truffles, to foie gras and beef tongue, I was in heaven (take a look at some of my pictures from here). The waiter paired my wines with the various courses and was spot on. I highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys a magical dining experience. BTW, bring a little extra money with you...this place tends to be expensive.

Food - the food is great. My husband and I both ordered the prix fixe dinner and a couple glasses of wine each. The server recommended wines that were both delicious and affordable, which I really appreciated. The shellfish soup was beyond amazing. Creamy and velvety and smooth yet light. The egg with truffle and bread was surprisingly delicious. I really liked the scallops with endive and orange juice reduction. The combination of sweet scallops and the bitterness of the endives were amazing. I really liked the duck confit with fois gras and lentils. The fois was to die for and the lentils were beyond flavorful. The cheese was good and the dessert was as well. Service - the service is excellent. They were attentive, funny, professional and fast. Wow. Final thoughts - although this restaurant is pricier, if you're looking to splurge, I highly recommend it. Great experience. Great food. Great service.

Yelp
I chose this place as a recommendation on the online reservation system The Fork/LaFourchette. Cannot recommend this highly enough. Had the tasting menu and was alone for the afternoon lunch, but it was enjoyable all the same. The wait staff was friendly and abundant, and for an American woman who speaks VERY basic French, this made my experience all the better. The maître d, sommelier, and waiters were all fantastic! The restaurant itself is very modern and clean and the intimacy of it all, despite how fancy it was, was EXTREMELY comfortable and I found myself relaxed throughout the meal. The food itself was excellent, I myself, having never tried things like pigeon or foie gras, found it to be enjoyable but this place probably isn't suited for Americans willing to go out of their comfort zones and try such delicacies. However, I think the real stand out here was the dessert and as much as the hype the famous "chocolate tart", I think the real standout was the strawberries with fresh cream before it - simple, yet elegant and delicious beyond words. On a side note - a lovely French couple sat next to me and just RAVED about the food and even stopped me on my way out to compliment me on choosing "the best restaurant in Paris". Well, in my short time there, I couldn't agree more. It was fabulous and I hope to return there one day.

Yelp
The food was amazing and service was great for the most part. The only thing is once we were finished with our meal, our server stopped paying attention to us and stopped refilling our water so it made it hard to flag down our server for the check and also when i'm paying 8 euros per person, I'd like to keep getting my water refilled even if my meal's finished! That being said, the service from when we walked in to right about the end of our meal was impeccable. The food was great as well. Came with a complimentary appetizer of foie gras and beef (?) tongue which had amazing flavor! My friend who has never had anything like this in her life agreed it was very tasty but she had to bring herself to stop thinking of what she was actually eating! Was also given fresh warm bread for the table. and we also ordered an appetizer of asparagus to share. I had the sweetbreads for an entree at the recommendation of our server. It had great flavor and just melted in my mouth. it came with a side of asparagus that were super tender. My friend got the lamb and I had a few bites of it. It was super tasty as well and very tender. Lamb can get super tough when cooked too long but they cooked the lamb perfectly. Ended the meal with the grand marnier souffle which was so good! Great way to end the meal. They also provided some complimentary chocolate things and thin peanut brittle at the end.

Yelp
Several months ago, I received an email signaling that the restaurant would go through an ownership change. The objective of thE new owners was to continue the traditions of Christian Constant, build on them and develop some new, exciting directions. I was anxious to see how well the changeover was working, so I went last night. I believe the new team is on track to achieve their objective. I had a new appetizer, what was called Water Chestnuts. It consisted of sea urchin, eel roe and caviar in urchin shells. It was beautiful and delicious. I also had a new main dish -- turbot with mussels, beets and glassworts. It too was deelicious and beautiful. I had a traditional dessert -- a millefeuille. It was as good as ever. I will keep returning to this restaurant.

Yelp
Came here for lunch because a friend in the states highly recommended it. Cute little place near the Eiffel Tower. I stepped in and noticed how well dressed everyone was for lunch. All the men were either in suits or jackets. They do a lunch special, 45 euros for three items. We ended up doing a la carte because the medallions lobster with risotto caught my eye. For starts I had the cesar salad and my husband had the soft boiled eggs rolled in breadcrumbs with toast. For my main dish I got the lobster with risotto and my husband got the veal cutlet. In the states cesar salad usually does not come with chicken unless you ask for it to be added. This one includes chicken. The flavor was amazing. My husband's eggs were perfectly cooked. The yolk oozed out once he cut the egg. Tasty!!! I loved my lobster risotto. Very rich in flavor and huge lobster pieces. I am not a fan of veal so I did not try but my husband said delicious!!! We did not have room to order dessert. They did bring us each a madeleine, a chocolate covered rice krispy and a toffee crispy. My husband ordered coffee to go with his treats. I took a bite of each just to sample and my husband ate the rest. Delicious meal. After lunch we walked to the Eiffel Tower. Perfect way to end lunch. The staff is professional and sweet. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Party of 8 lunch. We ordered 8 sets to try everything. Appetizers: the sea urchin appetizer edged out the pate in toast. It comes in black shells with such amazing goodness. Mains: i loved the black pudding with hare. So rich and tender, bursting with umami and cholesterol filled goodness. May be too gamey for some. Scallops were most ordered, very fresh but tiny portions. Duck was good but not great, have had better. Codfish was good, can't remember much. Desserts: both excellent and refined. Can't go wrong here.

Yelp
Two words: foie gras! I had it procured from 16 regions, I had it hand cured, slow heated, I had it poured, pureed: devoured in every fashion one can think of. There is NOTHING like the ginger crusted seared foie gras Christian Constant makes. Perfect bite, balance, it elevates your sensory signals straight to heaven. One word: Bravo! The new, available from tomorrow pre fix menu, which has the aforementioned pan seared foie gras, is nearly divine! Off the menu slices bites of herring on crusted bread went well with the a glass of brut rose. The baby peas soup over with a cucumber slice peel over what tasted like the vinegar treated mozzarella di buffalo (but in fact was a sheep's cream cheese) was nothing short of a 3 star Michelin experience. The soft boiled egg made washed with a glass of rose. How one can make a soft boiled eff a masterpiece? Simpler than your finest tamago, it's an art that truly differentiates if not defines a master chef from an amateur. The precise timing, the gentle touch, the dash of truffles make it simply perfect. Cabbage stuffed with lobster and scallops. Perhaps my least enjoyed dish. While the cabbage had been treated with the softness of the royalty treatment, the dish was a surprising lack of texture that I personally so much appreciate in both the sea creatures that should have been celebrated more in the dish. But then, monsieur Constant seem to be more interested in poultry and creatures you find in the farm, not sea. Pigeon roasted with shallots French style: another HUGE win. Definitely the best pigeon I've tried in my life. The thigh was nothing short of divine. Fantastic dish, and I am happy that it took a well deserved spot in the pre fix menu vs. the lamb which used to be there. Not that the lamb is a bad choice, but there are other masters that know well how to make lamb dishes vs. not so many that can concoct a perfect pigeon. I had it paired with Medoc, though, on a hindsight, should have selected a lighter red. The mascarpone with rasberries and honey was also very balanced and lightweight. Then came the Chocolate Tart. OH MY! For the 110 ex drinks it was definitely the best value I've experienced! The service was very good. AND very English friendly. Funny, attentive without being overly uptight. Finally, the selection of Isley bruisers won't leave any chance of finishing the dinner without a dash of peaty smoke-infused to solidify this night in your memory as nothing short of fabulous! Bravo!

Yelp
Food was "ok"... not 1 star worthy... Service though was an entirely different story. I don't think I've EVER had service that BAD! Mostly all of us had to dodge the server while he replaced our silverware per dish. He probably also accidentally kicked the legs of my chair (without any apology) 20 times during the 2 hours we were there. Kitchen was so loud, glasses breaking, silverware clanking, etc. My fish was raw, had to send it back. Plates weren't warm enough. A party of 10 being served by 1 person for a tasting menu was just not a good idea. By the time everyone had their food the first ones served had a cold plate. Sad sad sad. Won't be surprised if they lose their Michelin star.

Yelp
Le Violon d'Ingres is probably one of my favorite restaurants in Paris! The atmosphere, food, and service make it a prime place to eat. Everything from the bread and butter, to the main entree, to the dessert is sublime. All in all, the restaurant is worthy of its Michelin. P.S. Please do yourself a favor and order their Baked Alaska...it is, without a doubt, one of my favorite desserts in the world.

Yelp
10 stars!!!! Our favorite meal in Paris. Love the romantic and incredibly classy vibe in this restaurant. The service was absolutely incredible. No need to speak or know any French here. They have an English menu and everyone can speak English. We had the following: Pan seared foie gras - literally melts in your mouth. First time enjoying foie gras and it was delectable. Langostino ravioli - thick, creamy and delicious. Cassoulet - not my favorite part of meal but still very good. Huge servicing. Veal - my fiancé loved this! Had amazing side of pasta and cheese. Best ever. Chocolate tart - so so good. The vanilla bean cream is just yum. Grand mariner soufflé - can't even deal it was so good. The baguettes were amazing too. Please go here ! Oh and it is definitely a hot spot for Parisians. Didn't see many tourists here. Just fancy French People. ;)

Yelp
If you're looking for amazing food, this is the place. Le Violon did not disappoint. I was slightly worried going in because I had high expectations. I was not remiss on choosing this restaurant. Service was impeccable. It was a scrumptious and indulgent meal. I would definitely go back when I visit Paris again.
