I come here most of the time while working, but the quantity is getting worse and worse. I ordered the Mediterranean with Tofu and Paid $17 for this tiny amount! It’s an extreme rip off!

Just wanted to give great Kudos to your Awesome delivery man, Mr. Ezekiel today! At my request he helped me arrange the food so beautifully on the lunch table - actually he did it while I scurried back and forth to my floor and kitchen gathering items for the luncheon. He was such a joy to work with and took his time making sure everything was beautifully arranged and to my liking!!!! I'll never forget his hard work and prizing winning "smile" all whilst working so diligently. Thanks Leaf & Grain for hiring such awesome and hard-working, professional employees! I hope I get Ezekiel the next time we cater an event! Wishing you all a great afternoon and thanks again for making my luncheon a Success! Btw, the food was (AMAZING)!! :)

Google
Simply AMAZING! Now I know that sounds too hyperbolic when it comes to rating a "salad place", but you have to eat here to understand. I was amazed at what they can do with a salad and a salad bowl. You can taste the freshness and you can hear the enthusiasm in the voices of the employees here. The McKinney location is a very short 1 minute walk from my office downtown and I cant get enough of these salads, bowls and breakfasts. It doesnt matter which one you get either, you can bet your you know what that it will be fresh and delicious. This is one of the best habits I have developed. Stop reading this review and get over there and eat, already. The Oasis, the Herb Your Enthusiasm, The Alamo, The Immunity...so so so good. (I'm typing this after having just finished off an Oasis at my desk.) Just do it!

Google
I love this place so much! I eat here for their delicious salad options. I am totally in love with the Maize Runner since it came out in the Fall. I love that they use roasted veggies for extra flavor and looks gorgeous. I highly recommend trying any of their grain bowls. I also love the common table, the Alamo and the Seoul one.

Awesome lunch stop on our road trip! Love supporting locally owned businesses that provide gluten free options! I have a service animal and the staff gave us no issues nor did they interfere with his job. 100% would recommend!

I came to Leaf & Grain for lunch with a colleague during the afternoon lunch hour. The line was out the door so, I took that as a good indicator of what to expect. I waited in line for no more five minutes until I was asked politely what I would like to order. I'm a big "red meat" guy and when I saw that they offered a 44Farms Steak Salad with meat sourced from 44Farms (duh), I knew that that was going to be the meal for me. The steak salad is comprised of steak chunks (obviously) which were perfectly prepared (not too rare, not too well done), blue cheese, bacon bits, tomatoes, pickled red onions with a horseradish vinaigrette. I also opted for the additional avocado because PROTEIN. Before adding the vinaigrette, I was asked if I would like a small, medium or heavy dose (a nice touch especially with salads). I opted for a medium dose and was not let down. The salad was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture of it! As mentioned above, the steak was perfectly prepared, the blue cheese added the right amount of *zing*, the bacon was crispy, the pickled onion added a perfect counter balance to the horseradish vinaigrette. If you are looking for a healthy and tasty lunch, check this place out!

Amazing customer service and delicious healthy food! Be sure to add Totopos (tortilla chips) to your bowl if you want to spice it up!

Google
I frequently grab leaf & grain for my lunch. They offer drop off services to my work building, or I go to the location near my home. What made write a review was my experience yesterday. I ordered to the lunch drop off of my building, but when I went to pick up it was not there. Despite it most likely being stolen or accidently picked up by someone with a similar name they responded to my email within the hour and refunded me. I will keep ordering and appreciate the service!

Yelp
I feel healthier just walking in the place. Fresh, scratch food. Accommodating service.

Yelp
I really like Leaf & Grain, but our office ordered their sandwich box lunches and their Turkey sandwich literally had one slice of Turkey. Come on, L & G...I'm sure at $15 per box, you can afford to put in another slice. 5x more bread than meat. Disappointed.

Yelp
Located on 3rd floor of the Shops at Houston Center, this place is my go to healthy option for work day lunches. Their ingredients are fresh and the flavor combinations are great. There are no bad choices on the menu, but my personal favorite is the Alamo. Their service is pretty quick, but there is normally a line during lunch hour. You can order ahead on their website to save you some time.

Yelp
This restaurant has become an almost daily staple of our diet. The food is incredibly fresh, healthy and delicious. The teams who work here give every effort to make your experience a positive one. We love coming here and also taking the food to go for dining at home. Thank you Leaf and Grain! We love coming to you for some of our most frequent dining experiences.

Yelp
My favorite spot for a salad bowl! It is located downtown in The Park Shops, so it's easily accessible from the tunnel. What makes Leaf & Grain stand out is the consistent quality - it is delicious every time. My usual order is the MFH Veggie Boost, which comes with shredded kale, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted broccoli, parmesan, roasted pepitas, and dried cranberries, and it's served with the citrus vinaigrette. The only modification I typically make is adding chicken, but other than that it's perfect exactly as it comes. I have also tried adding the falafel which is good as well. They do a great job at giving a good amount of toppings vs. just filling the bowl with kale/the base and having a few things sprinkled on top. If you're making your own, the roasted sweet potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, and dried cranberries are especially good. I highly recommend coming by the next time you're looking for a high quality salad!

Yelp
Fabulous, delicious, fresh. I LOVE L&G. Wonderful service, great ambiance, and best of all is the FOOD. My favorite place in Houston.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch during a conference. I had the Alamo Bowl, with avocado dressing. I have craved this lunch ever since eating it. It was light, refreshing, yet filling. I don't live in Houston, and am sad I don't have a Leaf and Grain near home. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Fresh salads and seem to have plenty of options. You can build your own or order a pre picked salad to be made. I went here twice and both times they had ran out of something. I would leave and come back.
google avatar

Yelp
I had THE BEST SALAD EVER here. And then I had another the next day, and the next. It's that good. Place order online and just pick it up. They should give me a job as a spokesperson. Leaf and Grain is INSANE.

Yelp
You can't compare this joint to a Salata and avoid insulting Salata - the food quality and customer service experience here beats every Salata ever from every single location they ever have had and ever will have. That's why there is such a line here! Nobody goes to Salata on the third floor of the Park Shops with this as an option on the fourth floor. The 44 Farms Steak Salad caught my eye on the menu long ago (Eric C.'s four star review mentions steak added to a bowl which made me look further into the menu) but the line shooting out the door into the Park Shops scared me off, until finally the one day a week I get to have lunch away from my desk coincided with a day it was pouring outside so I was limited to tunnel or skybridge accessibles - and this fit the bill with a salad type experience, since my suit was starting to feel a bit tight around the tequila protector regions, but I still wanted steak flavours to season and moisten the rabbit food part of the salad. I had a long time wait in line since the line had wrapped along the wall and out the front of the store when I briskly sashayed over and joined it. So with my time in line I thought about other options on the menu besides the 44 Farms Steak Salad. Charging 75 cents extra for blue cheese as an add on to a Cobb salad that is already $10.25 sans blue cheese? Thank u, next. The steak salad meanwhile came with blue cheese, one of the many fine cheeses the gentlesir favours in his soyboy salads apart from the Armenian string cheese only available at the Phoenicia salad bar. Elisa was sweet once it was finally my time to shine/order. I had been there at the head of the line for a few minutes already while everyone else was busy making other bowls or whatev. She changed her gloves and swooped in to make the magick happen. Sweet and polite always goes a long way in lunch counter service, especially determining which ones you would visit again like this one, and which one you still have a grudge against twelve years on like Doozo. While you can customize salad/bowls as you see fit, they also have the pre-set ones like the Cobb and the steak salad. They also recommend the light or the medium portion of salad dressing you can request, and they only break down calorie count on the pre-set menu items with either light or medium dose of sauce. I went with the medium dose of the horseradish vinaigrette because most of the fellas in front of me had gone for medium, so they must have known something I did not. The medium saucing turned out to be just right to coat the salad but not leaving behind a ton of residue once you completed the salad. Pros: large helping of steak in the 44 Farms steak salad, the steak is beautiful, quality ingredients, and made with love when Elisa makes your salad. Cons: line out the door, line moves slow, why are we still waiting for a salad when I could be eating a quickly obtained fast food hamberder whilst watching Rick & Morty already??? Salads can be nice, right? A nice salad like this used to be $15 at Georgia's before that turned into the Local Foods, but the line was much less at Georgia's (and hence probably why it turned into the Local Foods) but I am not a patient person and I notoriously do not wait very well. Some reviews say the line moves quick and that is a matter of opinion, from the part of the line starting INSIDE the store it was round 15 minutes left until leaving time with the salad tucked into the tender crook of your elbow - or 0.3 as lawyers and Thai ladyboys in motels out by the airport who both bill in six minute increments are more familiar with in timekeeping. For an $11+ salad with tax this still merits repeat visits on days when (a) the line is not as #extra as it can be sometimes dramatically spilling out the storefront onto the fourth floor of the Park Shops and (b) the weather vs suede shoes conundrum has limited you to skybridge/tunnel accessibles.

Yelp
Love the salads and the SERVICE here at Leaf and Grain. Today I ordered the Common Table bowl and it is just the best combination of flavor and freshness. The other salads they have are also outstanding, and the people who work here always seem so friendly, kind and happy.

Yelp
Much better than Salata. Prob, the best salad place bowl place ever. I usually don't get salad but out of all the healthy salad places, this place is my favorite. Also, it gets you to be really full. I loved both of items that I got. Get the one with hummus, I think it just makes the salad way more enjoyable. I think this is the only time I couldn't finish a salad and was able to save it for later. Follow me on Instagram @willeatfood

Yelp
I work nearby and eat here twice a week. It's healthy and delicious, and online ordering is fast and easy! I particularly love the Immunity and Alamo grain bowls. And you can add or subtract ingredients you like/don't like!

Yelp
Leaf & Grain has been the ideal place for me to grab lunch during the work week for a few reasons: 1 - After eating, you're that perfect level of full to feel satisfied, but light on your feet, allowing you to attack the rest of your day. 2 - It tastes really freaking good. They made high-quality proteins a top priority and let's just say these taste buds have taken notice. Also, I don't know who is coming up with their pre-made recipes, but he/she knows what they are doing. (my favorites are the Oasis and the Modified Greek) 3 - It's local. Every time I have visited, I have been greeted with a smile by one of the three Houstonians who owns it. The pandemic has put a lot of financial pressure on small, local businesses, so it's important for us to use our buying power to support local restaurants like Leaf & Grain. In summary - Leaf and Grain = 5 stars

Yelp
This place has THE BEST salads and bowls. Their ingredients are fresh and flavorful. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. There's also a lot of variety. I like their attention to detail bc they even roast their own croutons! It's not like croutons from a grocery store. My fav dish is the Greek bowl. You can also order and pay online, and then pick up from their shelf. It's easy and contactless. Highly recommend. Admittedly, I eat here a few times a week.

Yelp
If you want a quick, healthy meal with delicious, high-quality ingredients-this is the place to go. Every item on the menu is phenomenal. They have a great variety of salads and grain bowls with options for people with dietary restrictions. I always like to make my own custom bowl though, and pick out my ingredients. The service is super fast, and the employees are always friendly and kind. Everyone should check this place out!

Yelp
Leaf and Grain blew my mind. Their salads are clearly made from the freshest ingredients and their staff is out of this world. You'd be remiss to not check this place out if you like quality, healthy food on the go. Side note: they always play some pretty awesome Talking Heads tracks. That fires me up before I dig into my favorite meal of the day.

Yelp
So so so fresh and delicious! Love this place and I am glad I can support a LOCAL business!

Yelp
Ordered catering for the first championship - impeccable service and food- and on time! A real delight!

Yelp
I recently moved to Houston and found Leaf and Grain to be my new go to spot. You will leave this place feeling full but also ready to take on the rest of the day. I am a big fan of their Modified Greek - locally sourced chicken, delicious feta, fresh greens, and an amazing salad dressing on there. I have also tried the Alamo bowl, which was a 5/5 for its chipotle lime dressing and fresh taste. I was surprised to find how versatile they were at making both Mediterranean and Tex-Mex style bowls. I am not normally a big vegetarian guy, but the third time I went there I decided to try their tofu and Brussels sprouts for a bit of a change-up. Wow. I could be a veggie-boi if I could eat that everyday. As soon as I get back to working in downtown I will be sure to go back to Leaf and Grain. I am hoping they open some new locations outside of downtown soon as well. 5/5

Yelp
Just tried L&G's seasonal Hill Country Summer salad - gotta say its my new favorite. I don't normally associate peaches with salad, but would highly recommend. Heard they also import the peaches from a farm just North of the Hill Country - which I thought was super cool.

Yelp
Finally, a healthy option in The Park Shops. Again, proof positive, if you build it, they will come. Besides Salata and Snap Kitchen (which does not offer any vegan options), there really are no decent options for people that are interested in eating semi - healthy. Thankfully, now there is! There are two options for vegans. I had the Happy Thai-ger which included brown rice, roasted tofu, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, daikon, and cilantro. I was a very happy camper. Still have yet to try their vegan grain bowl but I plan on it. Judging from the lines out the door, I'm not the only one that's been waiting for a place like this to open.

Yelp
If you've ever been to True Food Kitchen in Houston, this place is a Chipotle style version of it at a great price. My first time coming here, I got greeted by who I assume to either be the manager or the owner and he happily explained everything on the menu to me. I'm a meat eater, but there are a lot of vegetarian options on the menu. Everything is locally sourced and high attention to ingredient quality. My first time I tried the Common Table: brown rice, kale, brussel sprouts, almonds, apples, goat cheese with a very light honey white balsamic vinaigrette. I was recommended this since it was their most sold item, and I can see why. Great balance of flavors and very light but filling lunch. You can ask for light, medium, or heavy dressing. I chose light with some on the side, which was perfect to add more as I saw fit. Second time around I tried their Blue Sky: arugula, brown rice, avocado, bean sprouts, carrots, cucumber, and chicken. This one was definitely lighter than the common table, but just as filling. The green goddess dressing was a creamy green sauce that paired well with the rest of the ingredients. For people watching macros, this place is terrific. You're able to hit your macros (proteins/carbs/fat) if you're on a cut or maintaining. Also, they load it the bowls with a lot of veggies to hit micros as well as capitalizing on volume. Volume is what fills you up without indulging in too many heavy carbs or proteins and this place nailed it. Their options of how much dressing is also a terrific way to limit fat content in the meal as well. I recommend getting light dressing with extra on the side to add more as you like.
google avatar

Jackie K.

Yelp
Leaf & Grain is a Chipotle-style salad joint where you go through the line and build your own salad, in the Houston Center Shops. It took me a second to find, but it's on the fourth floor across from Starbucks (which isn't the only Starbucks in the Houston Center Shops!). Service was nice, quick and friendly. While the salads were good, I didn't love them--I feel like Salata is a little fresher, but I did like how Leaf & Grain offers roasted veggies (cauliflower, sweet potatoes and broccoli) and also offers rice (hence, the "grain" in the title). I tried the Common Table salad, and it was good.
google avatar

Francine W.

Yelp
Ooo believe the hype. Best salad bowl place. Way better than sweetgreen and the likes. I got the oasis bowl and it was delicious. Staff is friendly and I like that they ask you the level of dressing.
google avatar

Joy K.

Yelp
My sister and I are in town for the day so we decided to come here for lunch based on the photos we saw and reviews we read on here. As a big sucker for presentation, I was very disappointed in how sloppy both my Happy Thaiger bowl and my sister's Common Table bowl came out compared to how they looked in the photos. Also, the woman making my bowl was scraping the bottom of the brown rice dish so I got rice that was cold and you could tell had been sitting out for a while. On top of that, the employees were sort of shoving each other to make multiple dishes at once. AND they were out of romaine and avocado, and had no water cups out. I just felt like things could've been a little bit more organized. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my bowl (especially the dressing), but this isn't exactly a place I'd go out of my way for if I'm in the Houston area again.

Cristina S.

Yelp
I am a committed L&G customer since the beginning. Not only is it healthy, but delicious every single time. There are so many salad & grain bowls I would recommend because they are all great! I was a loyal Salata customer until L&G came along. The chicken thighs are always warm in my bowls. I really wish new locations would pop up (Galleria, City West Place). Thank you for keeping me healthy and getting me into eating salads every day.
google avatar

Lisa A.

Yelp
Great place for vegetarian, vegan and healthier alternatives! Also! I'm a very picky eater and leaf and grain offer customization to any of their pre menu! Thanks leaf and grain!
google avatar

JadyMarie D.

Yelp
We visit Leaf & Grain when dining with our vegetarian friends. The line is always long, but moves pretty quickly. The staff here is very friendly and conscientious about how to best serve their customers. We typically customize our bowls, and everything is always delicious. The food is very tasty and photogenic. I recommend that you give them a try, even if you opt for meaty selections.

Yelp
Leaf and Grain is awesome. Knocking down one star because it's like a hidden gem = try to find it? Try to call it? Nothing. It's mysteriously hidden in a mall in Downtown and if you don't know where, you can get lost for 45 minutes walking around trying to figure out where it is. Plus, minus one start the first time there, they didn't even have my call-ahead order - it was lost...BUT they were apologetic and made it very quickly so plus one star back. Both options we had were good (wife and me). Everything was fresh and ready to eat. Love that this is in Downtown. Hate that it's hard to get to and only open for lunch. IF it was open for Dinner = love it even more. But Lunch Only makes it feel...exclusive. Plus the hidden location...in a tired mall....also exclusive. I wish the interior of the restaurant had a bit more flavor. If I close my eyes, I can picture a farm and a fresh field and the sunshine, but everything in there feels a bit Taco Bell. Service is great. Food is great. If you are in DT HTX for lunch, do it. No better option.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Leaf and Grain has exactly what I'm looking for when I want a wholesome, quick weekday lunch. Great variety of ingredients and customizable bowls! Th dressings are really yummy and light. For a custom bowl, you pick your base (greens and/or grain) and 4 toppings and 1 dressing. Protein is extra. My go-to is the roasted tofu! The chicken is a little bland and dry for my taste. The line can get really long, so order ahead online and pick up next to the register! It's a super easy process and it's easier to customize your bowl this way.
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
Enjoying my salad bowl Thai-Ger. The line was long but the crew moved fast and efficiently. Small place packing a lot of punch. My salad bowl was so filling with the brown rice and veggies. I switched out tofu for chicken. Yum! Love how these make your own salad places are popping up everywhere.
google avatar

Kate D.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Fresh ingredients and homemade dressings. It's inexpensive too. My bowl: build my own, brown rice, kale, beets, roasted broccoli/sweet potato, olives, cucumbers, egg, pumpkin seeds, cashews topped with citrus dressing. The people who work here are nice and will give you a suggestion for a dressing.
google avatar

Nga T.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out today and it was delicious!! You really get your money's worth here and everything is fresh! Not to mention, their selection of homemade dressings all sounded really tasty! Will definitely come back here to try other things on the menu as well as building my own bowl

Chellie P.

Yelp
fresh salad options, the service was a little slow. The inside was clean. It was pretty good overall.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place! We were lucky to show up on their second birthday. We were offered donuts by one of the handsome creator/owner and he gave us the best advice of what to order. My Cluck Berry was the bestest ever salad that I have had!! My beautiful daughter ordered the Loredo which was equally delicious!!! We will definitely be back . Sorry to have missed the party and Rose.

Jen R.

Yelp
Great lunch place located on the mall downtown. The best cheap salad spot for work lunch. The kale here is baby soft hearty kale- not the tough giant kind cut into bits. Multiple add in options. All ingredients taste fresh. Got the MFH Veggie Boost with steak. I love how the dressing was light, tangy, and flavorful. Quality packed bowl of salad. There's seating outside in the mall or you can take to go. Can be packed during lunch hour but line goes fast.
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! I eat here whenever I am in the vicinity. This place has the most fresh ingredients and great combinations of menu items. The line is long, but moves fast. With the volume they do, I still get individual treatment and I do not feel rushed. I hope they open a second location and start selling their Beyoncé shirt.
google avatar

Crash D.

Yelp
Becks Prime used to run an add campaign saying "the finer side of fast." This is a term I think should equally apply to leaf and grain. It is a salad you think should come from the Coronado Club in three minutes in an eco friendly disposable container. I recommend the common table. Their dressing selections allow you to mix it up and have fun.

Michael F.

Yelp
Limited protein options. Nice salad and I live nearby. If they added a grilled steak option, they would see me 3 times as often. Why the red meat discrimination?? Guess I am still looking for that 'great" salad place. I thought I had found it. :-(
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
This group clearly cares and thinks a lot about how each ingredient will effect the final dish. I had the 44 Farms Steak Salad which was refreshingly balanced with sweet pickled onions cutting through the heavier avocado (that I added) and blue cheese. The bacon added a nice crunch alongside the romaine and the steak was truly delicious and well cooked! I had high expectations for this new restaurant and it exceeded on every level. A side note on the horseradish vinaigrette which I was unsure about having (who puts horseradish in a vinaigrette?) and was planning to substitute out with the lemon shallot vinaigrette. The staff surprised me by suggesting I sample their dressings like you do at a bar trying new craft beers. Turns out the horseradish vinaigrette dressing was awesome! I thought it was cool they are proud to be providing fresh and novel flavors for their customers and eager to help you try them. Looking forward to more locations!

Yelp
Just opened on Weslayan in the Specs/Berings shopping center. Outstanding salads and great service (food made in a salad line while you wait). Not your typical afterthought salads but a great variety of complex & healthy ones. Fresh and bright decor and easy take out if you prefer. Beer and wine license soon to come.

Yelp
Delicious healthy eating. In town for business and walked here from my hotel. Quick & friendly service. I got 'The Sonny' with the citrus vinaigrette on the side.

Yelp
OMG I found vegan food in a mall! This place is literally a hidden gem. I was attending a conference at the convention center and needed a nearby vegan friendly options. I was pleasantly surprised by Leaf & Grain. It is located on the third floor of the mall. The space is small but has modern decor. I decided to order the vegan grain bowl, which was amazing. It comes with tofu and you can add avocado (extra fee). Unfortunately they were out of avocado when I was there but the manager/owner explained the situation. Also the manager/owner questioned why I was taking photos, which I explained. Afterwards he provided me some information about the bowl. The food was great (not your typical mall food) and the price was on point.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the best place downtown when you're craving a delicious lunch you can feel good about! Leaf & Grain uses high quality ingredients, delicious homemade dressings and they keep their menu fresh by adding new seasonal combinations. It's obvious they spend a good amount of time creating and taste testing their menu so I always order from the board but you always have the option to customize your own bowl. The hardest thing about this pandemic has been missing my L&G fix!
google avatar

Anamarie T.

Yelp
I use to work here, so I know for a fact that the owners work their asses off to produce and develop the highest quality food. Now that I have a big girl job, I went back incognito and got the Veggie Boost which was wonderful (*insert pretends to be shocked meme*). This is a great place to eat especially if you have food sensitivities, like me. My only qualm with this place is that the owners are SUPER intense so it may not be a great place to look for employment if you are a zen or mellow individual.
google avatar

Tammy F.

Yelp
When I'm in town, I love eating at Leaf & Grain! So sad they had to be closed this week. I was looking forward to another yummy MFH bowl. Other salads I've had there... All SO good! And the salad dressings--amazing and homemade! I'm definitely going back when they are able to open back up. Please open a location in Fort Worth some day!

Yelp
Best salads ever best customer service ever im recommending all my friends please keep up the good work
