"If you aren’t really in the mood to drink IPAs all night at the Brewpub, there is another option downtown: Idyll Awhile Wine Shop. The little wine bar seems pretty quiet on the outside, but don’t be fooled. It turns into a party quickly. You can order any wine you want by the glass, but you’re going to want the wine tasting flight, which gets you four very full glasses of wine for $12 total. They have live music five nights a week, and if you get hungry, their charcuterie board is big enough to feed three adults." - Brant Cox

Great food, wine and service. Great sitting on patio listing to 🎶 music. Best tomato soup, but small portion for the cost

Swung by after a weekend of camping in Idyllwild with a group of 9 people. Beautiful day, seated outside listening to some good local live tunes. The server was incredibly nice and friendly. However, the food - not considering the cost - was something to be desired. Now take into account the cost and we have 3/5 stars. Outside - 4/5 You really can't complain with how close the wilderness is. Air was fresh, sun was bright, and air quality was great. Plenty of seating, of which the server accommodated such a large group with 3 small patio tables. My only gripe was while the red umbrellas looked good on the outside, the material was incredibly bright underneath, almost as if we were under a red light filter. Food - 2/5 This day we got a charcuterie board, a handful of sandwiches, couple salads, and sangria. IF the food was about half the price, then maybe I'd give the food 4/5. The mediocrity and portion sizes combined with the price was rather disappointing. So much so I forget exactly which dishes we got. TL;DR Overall - 3/5 - Outside: great patio seating; under the umbrellas felt like being under a red filter. The live music made up for my uncomfortable vision - Food: not memorable, small portions and overpriced *copied from my Yelp review

This place is amazing! Amazing food and drinks!!! You must have the Steak Au Poivre and Lobster!!!! Crazy Good!!!! Not just wine, they have great European beers and craft taps too!!! This will always be our first stop from now on when we visit Idlewild!!!

Google
Good food but overpriced. Was mislead as the entrance stated steak and seafood but it was not the menu. Got a good sandwhich, salad, appetizer & water. I spent over 80 for 2 . Not once did she come and check on us. Might be good for wines and beer but overall it was ok.

We were drawn here because of the music and beautiful outdoor seating. The service and the food was exceptional!

We ordered a salmon flat bread, two mulch wines and an italian wedding soup with two teeny tiny meatballs. Paid over $70 for the whole meal! 😠 The soup was so peppery I couldn’t even eat it, but she did not take it off the check. The mulch wine was $17 a glass !!!! not even in a 5 star hotel. This place is Overpriced, (with a capital O) super cocky waitress, ugh! do not recommend unless you want to feel ripped off when you leave.

Google
Ordered the Avocado Toast. Like a third grader made it. $18 for a piece of grocery store bread(not toasted), part of an avocado, a sprinkle of common grated cheese, diced tomatoes, and an old fridge burned piece of watermelon. Ridiculous. Awful. Never again.

The food and service was great, tasted fresh, but I could not believe how much two sandwiches and two drinks cost us and we left hungry. We paid $19 a sandwich holy moly that is way too much!

Yelp
Staff is friendly and considerate to let dogs inside during a crappy weather day. I appreciate that. Wine and food are fine but nothing impressive. Price is ripped off... I wasn't sure what was so special for the high price.. don't think I'd come back but it's a nice restaurant for people to hang out.. just not for me..

Valerie H.

Yelp
Server had alot of restrictions to dine which was a bit unconfortable and sangria tasted watered down couldnt taste the wine and we had to order food not just have a glass of wine

Hanna O.

Yelp
This place was ridiculously overpriced for such low quality and meager food. I ordered the La Bistro flatbread and was incredibly disappointed. The flatbread was cold, one piece was missing, and it looked like the kitchen had run out of ingredients and hodge podged my meal in a microwave. I would never pay $16 for a take out container of disappointment and would've ask for a refund had that been an option. For folks considering coming here, I suggest heading down to the grocery store, picking up some ingredients, and making dinner yourself. You'll get the most bang for your buck AND have a hot, delicious meal. Good food is not hard to make if you put intention and care into it. I will not be returning to this restaurant, as their food is supremely underwhelming and overpriced. The only great thing about this bistro was that the staff was friendly.

Annie T.

Yelp
Not impressed. While the seating on the patio is nice, the avocado toast came straight out of the fridge. Food was mediocre. Lady was nice.

Yelp
We had a fantastic evening in Idyllwild, CA! The charming ambiance and cozy setting made it a perfect spot for a relaxing night out. The owner personally served us, adding a delightful personal touch to our experience. The live music was wonderful, setting a great vibe for the evening. The food was absolutely delicious, and every bite was a treat. The friendly and attentive service made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for a lovely night of wine, food, and great company!

Ian F.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Delicious pairings and astounding service. The perfect place to grab a drink and relax.

Erica Z.

Yelp
Best food, desserts and drinks! The owner is a gem and makes most everything fresh. Relaxed and amazing ambiance! An Idyllwild staple that never disappoints!

Britt D.

Yelp
Kinda pricey tourist trap, unfortunately can't watch music on the patio without ordering food which makes for an empty patio much of time

Natalya S.

Yelp
well this was pretty bad experience. I get it, Thanksgiving weekend, everyone is busy, the town is crowded with non locals, restaurants are overwelled. Still bars are open for bissness and if you choose to open at least provide decent service and quality food. Waited 30 minutes to get a cold glass of "hot wine" aka gluhwein and 3 soggy cheese slices of microwaved margarita flatbread ($16). Stay away from this joint.

Kevin M.

Yelp
My wife and I were only able to stop in twice during our annual Thanksgiving sojourn to Idyllwild this as their hours have shifted somewhat. On both visits we opted to purchase a bottle of wine while sampling the fare. Leanna has done a terrific job expanding her business. We appreciated having the musicians outside and not overwhelming the people choosing to sit indoors. You really need to be patient as there never seems to be enough staff or POSs during Thanksgiving week. We were fairly amazed how few businesses shifted their schedules to accommodate the holiday crowd, but that is how it goes. We really appreciated the efforts the Leanna puts into Idyll A While and wish her success!

Kathleen M.

Yelp
SOOO DISAPPOINTING. Lulled in by mulled wine which was horrible. Overpriced refrigerated food that was meant to be warm. Unmelted cheese on $18 bruschetta & $29.00 wimpy La Bistro board. I noticed that 3 items were missing off this plate. Raisins substituted for figs. No pistachios. No arugula. Cheese not melted. When I mentioned this to the owner, she then tells me they had a snowstorm a few nights ago and they didn't have all the ingredients. So the truth was not forthcoming unless you were attentive. She could have easily mentioned this to us and we could've chosen different menu items. The $13. soup was a tiny cup of something with tiny meatballs and rice which should NOT have been in the soup. Oh, but we got $5.00 off for the bill for noticing we got ripped off. MARCH 26, 2024

Yelp
This was our first time here visiting from out of town wanted to stop and try their sangria when we walked in to ask the owner if animals were allowed in the courtyard, she said with an attitude as long as we were going to buy something off the menu, but she said it with such an ugliness and an attitude we almost turned away. However, once we sat down, I brought in a coffee from another place here in town, another rude ugly attitude was given to us by the same owner telling us we weren't allowed to bring food in the problem is there was no trash cans that I could see that I could dump the coffee into there was establishment didn't look like it offered a trashcan so how could I have emptied it? You know gotten rid of whatever I got from previous sit down we ordered sangrias and we were told we weren't allowed to leave unless we ordered a food item so I got the bruschetta it was Texas toast with cheese for $18. I've had better elsewhere sorry but you're not getting my business ever again.

Candice M.

Yelp
The ambiance was great. We sat outside on the patio. There was an umbrella and a great breeze. We had the focaccia sandwich special and it was delicious. The portions are a little small but the food was excellent. We had a strawberry sangria that was refreshing and not too sweet like most sangrias. The flan was tasty but watery. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food came out quickly. The owner is great. It is a bit pricey for what you get but it is a tourist town and the overall experience was worth it. There is live music in that added to the great experience.

Alexis S.

Yelp
Was open for early lunch. The owner was really nice, she really has great customer service skills. But honestly the food was just mediocre especially for the price. Good wine and beer selections but no typical selections, you won't find a Modelo or a Budweiser. Which is fine. But the price was outrageous. We had 3 drinks, two lower end priced lunches and it was well over $100. The thing is, I'll happily drop that money on good food. But this just wasn't it. Creative dishes that just weren't executed well. The restaurant itself is nothing special. For the prices you'd expect more than patio chairs from home Depot.

Peter H.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. The food was fresh, creative and delicious. The wine selection is phenomenal and the prices are more than fair. Live music on the little stage out front was an excellent addition. Great little spot in Idyllwild! Go see Leanna, she is offering great service!

Maya J.

Yelp
If I could give a place one star I would. I'm not convinced anyone at this establishment knows what good food tastes like. The owner, Leann I believe her name was, was nice and all, but that woman knows what she's serving. Me and a girlfriend came to idylwild for the day, and we chose the place that said seafood, nice selection of wine, and delicious food. Everything was cold, just FYI, We ordered the pastrami sandwich, which was maybe an inch tall, served with a safe slice of melon. The Italian wedding soup was salt with a side of mystery meatballs. And we ordered the "chicken bowl" for our dogs, she said "we have a nice warm chicken bowl for the dogs it's cute"....this woman brought out canned chicken that smelled like tuna on a paper plate. You can see the paper plate in the background of the photo. My dog wouldn't even eat it lol and he eats everything. We were so hungry from hiking we had to eat the food we ordered. I respectfully told the OWNER we did not enjoy our meal, the "bread bowl" of 2 pieces of rock hard bread was unsatisfactory. The meal was 90 DOLLARS. she also doesn't say that tip is already included. If the meal was free, I would've believed her because of what she served. She said "aw I had 200 customers yesterday and not a single complaint. Next time a drink on me." We checked yelp reviews, oh she received many complaints lol. Don't go here, don't spend your money on somewhere that openly wants to swindle you. If you want overpriced sandwiches and food that was sent from a 7-11 prepackaged, this is your place. Although 7-11 will be incredible cheaper. We went to fratellos next door and spent another 80$ on pizza, wings, and cheesecake. Go there instead.

Sandy K.

Yelp
Food is awful. Soup was literally inedible. Baked brie was microwaved and gross. Best to stick to the wine and beer.

Mel M.

Yelp
Been coming to Idyllwild for years and try to stop by the wine shop every chance I get. What a great spot! You can tell this place is family owned, and it has plenty of outdoor dining space, which is great these days. Their charcuterie board, which costs $26 is very tasty. Today's visit was extra special as one of the folks working there came out to me and my kids and gave us a homemade rocky road chocolate bar as a Christmas gift- what a wonderful gesture! Can't wait to come back!!

Natalie N.

Yelp
I really don't like to leave bad reviews but unfortunately I do not recommend this place. The owner is really nice. But the prices are insane! And the portion for what you're paying is so small! First there was no complimentary bread and butter, no water offered. Our shrimp cocktail was $19 and all we received were 4 small shrimps that still had the shell on them and it was not very good. A glass of Mulled wine $20 another small pour and just average tasting. Our sandwiches were good but not amazing for what we paid $20 each. It came with a tiny-tiny table spoon of potato salad that was good but again tiny portion. We also brought our dog , no water bowl was offered for him, I ordered Turkey on the side for Him thinking it was real turkey breast... and instead it was 4 thin slices or processed turkey sandwich meat cost $6... I do like the ambience of the wine bar and the music. We were excited to finally try this place for the food and wine and turned out to be very disappointed. We left feeling very ripped off :/

Autumn H.

Yelp
While the atmosphere was nice, unfortunately, the bistro fell short on quality and honesty. Things first went wrong when I was not permitted to bring in a water bottle. This venue does not charge for water. However, the owner insisted that my water bottle be stored behind the bar so that I could be served tap water instead. Following the water situation, my family and I ordered avocado toast and a charcuterie board as appetizers. The quality was disappointing at best, especially considering the expectations set by the high prices for these appetizers. we were served small amounts of low-quality cheese and crackers and a low-effort attempt at the avocado toast. The wine was okay, but not for the prices requested. The real issue arose when it came time to pay the bill. They included a 23% tip that was not visible until a receipt was printed after payment and requested another tip on top of that. We were also double charged for one charcuterie board. The owner then tried to explain that the 23% automatic tip was set by the payment processor, and that she would need to use a computer to change it, implying that the task was a bridge too far to correct her thinly veiled attempt to take advantage of customers who don't check their receipts. We had the second tip and the double charge corrected after some back and forth, but the experience left such a bad impression that I will not return. If you dine here, prepare to check your receipts! I understand that running a restaurant and bar in an expensive tourist location is difficult and sometimes thin on profits. However, that does not excuse the deceptive tip scheme employed by this venue.

Yelp
Sigh. We really love small shops but this one fell flat. We ordered a flat bread that was soft and soggy. It was a premade bread that you pull out of a bag and prob don't need to cook - just warm the toppings on top. There was barely any toppings on it. It wasn't hot. It was just all around not very tasty. We also ordered the charcuterie board which wasn't very special. The quality of cheeses and meats felt like your run of the mill mass produced meat and cheeses. Give me a cheddar block and some hormel pepperoni and that would have competed with their board. On top of that, nothing was paired well. The cheeses came in little condiment containers all packaged in a styrofoam container. The wine flight was a generous pour but 1 of the 4 wines we tried wasn't very good. It was a bit vinegary and maybe not stored well or open too long. The service was fine. They seemed short staff but still checked on us a couple of times. There are much better options around town.

Denise B.

Yelp
Hey, if u like paying double the amt for a glass of wine n having an order of over priced 3 lil pieces of stale tasteless bruschette served out of a STYROFOAM 2 GO BOX, "which I noticed all meals were served that way" then that's the place 2b..ENJOY

Marisol A.

Yelp
This place isn't worth the price. The specials aren't really specials. The posted their sangria (they spelled it sangeria lol) and hot mulled wine. Their charcuterie board was $28 which I thought was a bit much but we were hungry. For that amount of money we were expecting high quality European meat and cheeses which was most definitely not the case. When the bill was presented to us the bill was $65! So the drinks were around $17 plus tax EACH. To add insult to injury they use the "Toast" register system and bring up the machine to you to pay. They only had three options to tip: 23%, 20% or 18% without an option to adjust it. We didn't ask for mixed drinks and even in Los Angeles I pay half for those drinks. We ended up feeling ripped off at $75 and change. We visit Idyllwild yearly and we're SORELY disappointed at this place. We have come in the past and we're just floored at their insane price points. Go to another wine bar in town. You can most definitely do better.

Jeff E.

Yelp
While the manager did try to recover from the experience, it was literally the worst BLT ever had in my life. And mistakes were made on drink orders as well. Our party agreed there was nothing redeeming here except the live music. I hope they figure it out.

Tess C.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for lunch. We got wine, and as soon as my friend took her first sip, there was a hair tie in it. Then our food came out, and there was a long black hair melted into my sandwich. When I showed the waitress, she didn't say sorry or accept any responsibility, but instead pointed to the dog across the patio and said it must've been the dog (mind you, the hair was melted INTO the food.) we got the bill and they didn't comp anything or at least bring out a complimentary beverage. As a business owner, this service and experience was highly disappointing. (Updating this the next day: two people got food poisoning from the turkey sandwich here. )

Magdalena M.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to sit in the sun and have a one drink and left with a $60 bill. Without our waitress ever letting us know that it was mandatory to order food, only I ordered a salad and not my boyfriend. Not only was the salad I ordered the most pathetic 4 pieces of lettuce for $15, she brought my boyfriend a salad as well and then charged for it. Instead of informing us of this mandatory food policy and letting him pick something, our waitress slyly brought a second salad and charged double. Cherry on top, I got my card out to pay and she disrespectfully turned to by boyfriend and asked him to pay. Rude waitress. Terrible food. Unfortunately will never be returning. This business won't last long

Karen L.

Yelp
Great little spot in the center of Idyllwild for a glass or flight of wine, appetizers, and live music. They've set up a large outdoor area with tables and chairs, and a bandstand for their live music. It was cool in the afternoon when we went and the sun hits the outdoor area making it glow and providing warmth. You can choose any 4 of the white or the red wines from their wine list and make up your own flight. We chose one flight of each. I particularly liked their pinot noir. We also order the hummus plate which was phenomenal. It was homemade and was served with a variety of veggies, nuts and crackers. The menu is varied enough that you could make a dinner of it. We thoroughly enjoyed our "wine hour" at Idyll Awhile!

Paula D.

Yelp
We walked in for some wine tasting. Was going to sit at bar. We were the only customers in the place! We had our REAL service dog and was directed to sit outside only. The lame excuse for not allowing us to sit inside at bar is because someone may trip over dog!! Maybe business is so good they didn't need our money.

Chris H.

Yelp
Excellent ambiance, service, drinks and food. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Very dog friendly on their lovely patio. If I had to knock for anything, the flatbreads could have been cooked a bit more so they were crispy, but that's just personal preference.

Peter P.

Yelp
Second time trying and extremely overpriced for offerings. Don't waste your money here as there's so many better quality places in Idyllwild to support.

Kristina W.

Yelp
Really disappointed with portion size. Tiny salad and really small sandwiches. 1 tiny spoonful of potato salad. Sangria was $17 each. Didn't taste much alcohol. Sadly boyfriend and I still had to buy food after we spent $80 here and I'm not even a big eater. Don't go here. Also asked for cheese on side and they didn't honor it

Pam K.

Yelp
Terrible food Hardly any meat in the sandwiches 1 bite of potato salad Ridiculous for what they are charging Eat anywhere else but here Cheap & nasty

Taylor G.

Yelp
The portion sizes are ridiculous for the price. For about a 4th of what I'd consider a normal sized sandwich, I paid $25. And a side of potato salad was served in a small condiment dish. There was also was an over 20% large group fee that wasn't disclosed beforehand. For the amount of food we got, a single meal at any other restaurant would've been equivalent in portion size at a significantly cheaper price. Would not recommend.

Eva B.

Yelp
very expensive for extremely small portions and did not mention a $30+ large party fee

Louise C.

Yelp
Me and my partner were up in Idyllwild for the weekend for our 11 year Anniversary, 22 Oct 2022. We stopped by here for a drink only. I would definitely give this place a ZERO if I could. For a hot mulled wine and a glass of 805 beer cost $28.00. I couldn't believe the price. So I give the lady with short grayish hair behind the bar a $50 bill. She gave me $21 and some change back. I got distracted and left my $21 dollars on the counter when she asked about my dogs I had in a stroller. I picked up our baby dog and showed the lady behind the counter. When I turned around to put my dog back in the stroller my money was still on the counter. As I was turning and faced the bar I saw the lady pick up my money and walk to the other corner of the bar folding my money. I then asked about my change from the $50. She said she already gave it to me. She placed it on the counter and she picked it back up. I told her I never picked up the dollars. I only picked up the change, which I think was 30 cents. I told her I did not take the money I left it on the counter. I even checked through my wallet. No money was there. I didn't want to make a scene so I let it alone. If she thinks it was her tip she's got to be insane because I would not have left $21.00 for a damn tip. I felt very sad this occurred. We will never go into this Establishment ever again!!!!! I normally do not make bad reviews but this really bothers me.

Em Y.

Yelp
Wouldn't go again. Rude service. Being told after ordering a drink that it is also mandatory to order food is wrong, especially on an empty patio in the afternoon. No signs anywhere about mandatory food. Service was nonexistent. Zero personality or a single smile from the face of the "bistro". On to food, I had better food for half the price at an airport 2 days ago. The hummus came with one stale piece of Italian bread that my dog would not have eaten. Nothing was fresh. $21.50 sandwich was similar to something you'd find in a school cafeteria and then came with an appealing ramekin of potato salad (insert sarcasm). We ordered 2 plates for the two of us and because we split both of them, received a "split charge" although also not on the menu. Lastly, when asked for the tab to pay, owner asked for credit card without providing printed tab of what we were paying for and then stood over us while we paid on tablet and tipped. Super uncomfortable experience. At least the live music was good but we could have just watched from outside the fence for free and then had a real meal. Idyllwild brew pub, cafe aroma, frattelos, Tommy's, or literally anywhere else is better in town. Save yourself the annoyance and spend your money somewhere worth it.

Ashley C.

Yelp
2 friends got food poisoning. Food is gross, owners don't seem to want to even be in the business.

Luke Z.

Yelp
Location great. Service and food ok/good. Portion size very very small and overpriced. Flatbread not great. Feels like they don't expect you back. Everything served in styrofoam to go containers on patio.

Eve H.

Yelp
This was an utterly disappointing experience! Based on the atmosphere and the menu we expected a very relaxed dining experience as well as reasonable prices. But instead we got bamboozled with counterfeit food for fine dining prices. LET ME EXPLAIN. To start, I was up sold a peach sangria which was 90% ice and water for a whopping $15! Then we decided to order (based on the description) mouthwatering flat breads, which if you ever go to any restaurant, you know it's pizza dough prepared as a crispy thin dough. But instead my kids received 3 (1 1/2") strips of very soft and mushy PITTA bread! Which was so soft that it fell apart unless you folded into itself to eat it like a quesadilla. And to add insult to injury, what I received left me speechless....a tortilla with cheese pesto and a few pieces of chicken....WHAT?! Still dumbfounded I asked the server if it was a tortilla? Just to make sure I had not misread the description on the menu! To my surprise, she admitted it was a tortilla and that it should have been the regular "flat" bread. Then, who I assume was the owner and the person who greeted, and sat us down, came to explain that they had run out of the bread and had to run to the local store to get some tortillas!...Again...WHAT?! So, I'm thinking to myself...let me get this straight...you ran out of the "pitta" bread you tell people it's "flat bread" and tried to sneak it in hoping I wouldn't notice and charge me $16 for three mushy strips of pitta bread..and didn't have the courtesy...dare I say...integrity, to let me know they were really trying to get rid of the left over tortillas they bought so they wouldn't go to waste, and tried to charge me full price????!!! How insulting! It was evident that they did have the pitta bread available when they made mine, because my kids got the regular pitta bread, but they tried to sneak mine in with a tortilla! The manager (I'm assuming) had mine redone with the regular "bread"... which by now we know it's nothing more than pitta bread. So rather than do what most managers would do and remove it off our ticket, we got the full $92 DOLLAR BILL. None of what we experienced was fine dining...and I call it fine dining price, because as a restauranteur I spend $70 for all four of us on a REALLY good restaurant on a regular day!! From the (surprisingly) "relaxed"attire the manager greeted us with (I first thought she was a regular patron who had just left her house for a bite) to put it politely....to the watered down sangria, to the counterfeit "flat bread". Even after I brought the price to her attention, to my amazement she proceeded to justify the price of the bill. Sadly, we will not be returning!

Lyk A.

Yelp
Would not recommend! Overpriced, bland food and water down drinks. Flat bread compares to 25 cent frozen pizza from the grocery store. But the one you get a the grocery store actually has more flavor. The dough was pale and soggy.. and you only get 3 thin slices for $16. The sandwich we got was also bland and the bread was so hard it cut through my friend's mouth. What's worst is when the bill came, there was mandatory tip of 23%. The service was not horrible, but it wasn't great either. Long wait time, dirty plastic cups.. definitely would not come back.

Yelp
Don't go. Avoid. Ridiculously overpriced and not good drinks. Just don't go. Sad cause I like trying places out but places like this make me stick to my trusted restaurants.

Yelp
I REALLY WISH I HAD READ THE REVIEWS FIRST! The location of this restaurant has great potential, with outdoor seating and live music. But the food was sooo disappointing. When I asked about the flatbread she said it was 'personal size' At $16 dollars I expected something that would constitute a meal. It was 3 small slices on flatbread from the store, 1/4 of a canned pear, maybe the equivalent of one slice of prosciutto and a light smear of cheese. This would not count as an appetizer or kid's meal. Looking at the previous reviews I'm surprised they haven't done something to remedy this. Pull another piece of bread out of the bag and try to make it worth the price. My friend ordered the sandwich the waitress recommended and it was more substantial. My friend said the amount of turkey and avocado on it was nice. It came with potato salad (definitely store bought) and one small slice of watermelon. This place will not last with the high priced and poor quality food. I hope that whatever restaurant takes it's place will do better with the great potential of the location.

Yelp
Great spot! They often have live music. To sit at the tables out front, per their current permit you need to purchase a food item. Totally understandable & not in their control. We were stopping by on our way to dinner, so luckily they still had a spot available on the side patio where you don't need to order food. We got one wine & one beer flight & could still hear the live music really well. Such a nice place to hang out for a bit, especially when the weather's nice! If you are in the mood for a snack, get the cheese/charcuterie board! I saw multiple people get them and they looked amazing!!

Yelp
I would never come here again. As another reviewer said: Run, don't walk, away from this restaurant. The food was absolutely disgusting and overpriced. We had the spicy chicken appetizer and the pear flatbread. The chicken was slimy, undercooked, small with only 6 pieces of 'popcorn' chicken for $16. The pieces of chicken looked like they had already been eaten. The flatbread was only three small slices for like $18; the bread undercooked, and just a nasty taste. The sangria was watered down and loaded with ice. The beer my husband got was also not good, almost like the owner doesn't drink or eat in their own restaurant to know what they are serving is crap. The server on staff was the cook, the server and the bar tender during lunch hour. I suspect she is the owner. She didn't express any concern for how the meal was. But from the minute we walked in, she was clearly in no mood to care about her customers. We eventually just left the money on the table and left. We will never return. It felt like a business in which no body gave a crap about it, but the customers were paying steep prices for the product and service.

Yelp
So Sunday afternoon, popped in at 2:30ish with friends for a couple of beers for the boys and wine for the girls. We ordered and everything is fine. Then at 3pm we're told they are closing last call. Okay so 4pm we get it - we order 1 more round. Then ... at 3:15 we're told err we're closing: I say no errr your posted sign says 4pm. Waitress say "well we worked hard this week so we need you to check out and go now". Needle scratching across a record on a turntable -WTF I'm gunning a $16 glass of Conundrum because you worked really hard this week?!?! Rude, unprofessional, unnecessary and as locals were not going back. Four 60ish year olds kicked out of a bar 30 minutes before their posted closing time and gunning expensive glasses of adult beverages because "they worked hard this week" is unequivocally unacceptable. Seriously?!?! Our bill was $160! If I could give a negative star I would.

Yelp
This was my first trip to Idyllwild and I didn't read reviews before choosing a lunch spot - we just happened on this place and the host was really nice and friendly, so we sat down. We had seen the prices of the food before we ordered ($17 sandwiches) but were expecting more value than what we actually got. The sandwiches are simple and small - not hoagies or anything close. The bill came to $64 for 2 sandwiches and drinks which was shocking even for someone coming from LA! Still giving 3 stars for location and service and the food being tasty even if modest, but if you are watching your budget, this is not the place.

Yelp
Amazing wine and great service. The live music was really cool, but the way the owners make everyone feel at home was truly special

Yelp
Stopped in here with a group of six ladies to enjoy some outdoor time and wine the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We ordered a nice bottle of Chardonnay and the bacon wrapped dates. Live, acoustic music was also a nice touch and wasn't disturbing to our chit chat. The owner was polite and friendly. Would definitely stop back in next time we're up the mountain.
