Organic beer that leaves you wanting nothing. This is extremely rare to experience when you are gluten-free. They have delicious beers for regular beer drinkers who can handle gluten. Either way, it will be a more conscious and healthful choice. Regular live music. My only disappointment is only being able to utilize the free ‘member’s drink’ on one day/time of the month.

I hosted my welcome party for my wedding here on 6/27/25 and all I can say is that I was EXTREMELY impressed with them and will sing their praises to anyone willing to listen! I emailed a few weeks prior due to our previous venue falling through and they got back to me within 30 mins of inquiring. They had been extremely communicative throughout the weeks leading up to the day and followed up with me multiple times with confirmations and it made everything stress free during a stressful time <3 We ended up renting the tower room for two hours, and they let us extend that until closing which was amazing. They also went out of their way to get a band for the night and also a Taco truck! I wasn't able to hear or eat the food but all of our guests (60ish people) said the food was amazing and that the band was fantastic and even shouted our wedding out! They went above and beyond for us in this event, they even let my Father-in-law use their microphone in the tower room to give a speech towards the end of the night and they didn't have to do that! All and all - Joe and the team were amazing. I would 10/10 recommend them for any event where you want a chill vibe with great food and beer and even greater service!

🍻🍺🍻😋🌮🌮🌮🥑🥗 Tasty/unique beers Paired with Gio's delicious Birria Love their Cheater 5 light beer and mango coconut hazy. The service matches their high quality beer selection, along with the delicious food. Even when fully packed, operationally, you'll get the service you need. Highly recommend the birria tacos/fries from GIOs food truck. I had their chicken, and wasn't a big fan due to the meat quality. But their birria is tasty, unique, and fulfilling - try it out!

The best beer, the best drinks, the best owners, and the best music ever! It’s a must go! I feel fortunate to have this neighborhood brewery in my backyard!

I couldn’t ask for more! This place is awesome!!!🤩 We sit with our dog Bruno to watch NBA Finals Dever vs. Miami while eating a good sushi from Kibo sushi is only 5mins from the Leashless Brewing. Ventura is now one of our favorite place in the US. Nice crews and customers are very friendly specially to the dogs. 🍻

You want to have a place to relax and drink some good beer? This is the place. They treat you like friend and are always smiling. And if you hit it right, you get to hear some great live music.

Google
Good place, very good beer, we are local so we don't worry about parking, friendly staff, and good to suggest a good beer on what your taste is, some what good raggae music ( I like rock better) but for more diverse people set a good ambient, taco truck on the premises so you won't go hungry. This a good popular place, highly recommend to stop by and have few beers.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Leashless for years. I was first introduced to the brand a few years back with their gluten reduced brews. I recently made the drive (nearly 2 and a half hours FOR ME) to their physical location. I was surprised to see how friendly the staff was. The food menu was explained to me, and it was awesome to hear that nearly everything on the menu can be prepped gluten-free. They explained what beverages were on tap and were gluten-reduced. I asked the awkward question of if they had four-packs of cans I could just buy. She smiled and said, "Of course." She then took my order, grabbed empty cans with no tops, and filled them to order! After sealing them and getting me checked out, I was told of some stores that carried their brand to save me the drive next time. The laid-back and helpful atmosphere was a great change of pace compared to some other bars/restaurants I've been to. I will make the drive earlier so that I have a chance to try the food next time. Oh, and the beer was delicious! (The C'est La Vie Quad was really good, and it's STRONG, so be careful!) They made a Coconuts (a coconut Hazy IPA) years ago that was my favorite brew, but it doesn't seem to be on their regular menu anymore...bummer. The owner back then had sent me a personal letter and apology (even though it wasn't his fault) after my brother-in-law was given wrong information at a store that one of their brews was gluten-reduced when I later found out it wasn't after becoming ill. This personal touch was amazing and made me a fan of Leashless for life! I wish I could order regularly online because no stores near me stock their brews.

Yelp
My husband and I had been wanting to visit Leashless Brewery for a while, and we finally made it this past weekend. I'm not a big beer drinker, especially since I'm gluten-sensitive. Beer, in general, isn't gluten-free, so I was thrilled to find that Leashless offers three gluten-free beer options! It's located in downtown Ventura and is walking distance to the beach. The entrance is stunning, reminiscent of the buildings in Santa Barbara. They have both outdoor and indoor seating, and we chose to sit inside. The decor is charming, beachy, and rustic. Our server, Lila, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were excited to learn that all their beer is organic, which is a huge plus for me. I decided to order a flight of beer and one cider. The difference in taste and quality was remarkable. My favorite beer was their Vtown. We had an amazing time at Leashless Brewery and will definitely be returning.

Yelp
First of all I want to start by saying this place needs major improvement with staff. Im outside the brewery having a bite from a food truck that's standing on their lot meanwhile waiting for friends to arrive so we can have a drink at leashless brewing. Needed to wash my hands so as I'm walking towards the restroom I immediately get stopped by a guy named Erick. He gives me a death stare with the most unwelcoming tone asking me " are you buying something " I responded back saying " sure I'll buy a water" he then said "we don't sell water" I just walked away had to meet my friends at a different brewing location. It honestly blew my mind never had an experience like this before. It shows how judgmental this guy Erick is.

Yelp
service rude for 0 reason on two occasions. Never again. Endured it once prior for the live music outside. But this time was more of the same. I was not surprised to see many other 1 star reviews here. Hope you go out of business. Sour beer and sour employees make for a sour taste in everyone's mouths. In case you missed that--they aren't making decent beer here either. Just another popup hipsterish effort.

Yelp
We were a large group and Joe and his staff accommodated us well. They could have been a little less snarky with those who were visiting from out of state or out of the country, but we all get overwhelmed. Sure, we know "it's a brewery", but maybe suggest cider as an alternative to wine? We appreciated the band and the food truck.

Yelp
I reviewed this wonderful place before but we just had the amazing coconut IPA and we all loved it! I love the way this brewery comes up with new seasonal beers so it keeps you coming back. They always have top notch entertainment and my friends requested Johnny Cash and the band did a great job. As always the servers are wonderful and the place is very dog friendly inside and out! A win win!

Yelp
Leashless Brewing in Downtown Ventura is definitely a nice spot to grab a cold one! I've been here twice in the 9+ years that I have been living in Ventura and I kind of feel sad about it, because their beer is great! Also I just discovered this past weekend that one of our neighbors actually works there. They have a very nice selection of beers and some ciders (some of which are gluten free). In addition to this, all their drinks are organic, so that makes it feel like they are better for you than others. I like to have their beer flights to try their rotating beers. This last time I had: Sunrise Blond, Tri-Fin Triple, Foamball Hazy, Coconutz Hazy, and Soul Slide Pale Ale. They were all good, but I had a pint of their Sunrise Blond, it was great. They also had a food truck outside with some righteous tacos!! The asada tacos are very tasty. Their servers are very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you are in the area pay them a visit and enjoy the Leashless life!

Yelp
I have wanted to try this brewing for a long time but I have just now had a chance. Leashless Brewing serves Organic beers, that are rooted in Environmentally-conscious and sustainably-minded business practices. I could taste the difference between organic beers and regular beers. The ambiance has surfer vibes, a big screen to show surf videos, a surfboard, and a picture of Venture Pier on the wall. The business owner, John was nice. I tried a flight of 4 beers. I picked Sunrise, May Grey, V Town, and Mocktail. All beers were good but my favorite was Sunrise. It has nice fruity flavors and a taste of good hop. The music made me relaxed (they have Music on every Thursday and Sunday) Tuesday is Pint Night, $2 off all pints all day. Friday is Foamball Friday, $7 pints of Foamball all day. They have patio seating and are dog-friendly. There is a parking in front of the brewing but also you can park on the street.

Yelp
One of the best in Ventura!!! I love that they are eco focused but it doesn't compromise flavor of beer. I tried the trifin, cest lavie, coconutz and brown beers. Loved them all! Coconutz is my favorite. It's very fruity but also your typical IPA (which I love). They have a wonderful outdoor/indoor space and their staff are so sweet. Pro tip: Thursdays they have live music! Already ready to come back.

Yelp
Ambiance: Leashless exudes a cool surfer vibe. Surfing without a leash is great exercise. Come to Leashless for "Apres Surf". A big screen streams surf videos. The surfers are all wearing leashes. Haha. Photos on the wall depict real underwater scenes from the Channel Islands. Beer: The beer choices are plentiful. My favorites are IPAs. The Belgians actually were my favorites! Hazys, Double IPAs, and everything in between include award winners. Staff: John introduced his passion for organic sustainable everything. Leashless believes in saving the planet. John has surfed Ventura for 25 years. He loves Ventura and our beach environment. Service: The service included iles, patience, and efficiency. My server took as long as I needed to explain my flight choices. She actually stacked several flights simultaneously. There is no substitute for experience. Conclusion: I had a fun evening at Leashless Brewing.

Yelp
Leashless Brewery! Always got the goods, music, vibe. The beer is wonderful and the service is great. Love Mosa and Tri-Fin. Always have a great time when we come to Ventura. We can't NOT stop and get fills. Always worth the drive.

Yelp
I love the outside seating. Had my furry friend with me. Stop by had a beer or 2 or 5 great place service was good. The ambiance was awesome. We be back .....

Yelp
So it's my first time , there is no food available, but I know you can bring your own food , I did have the flight with great options . Server was nice helpful when deciding wich beers to choose , they recommend great flavors ! Place has live music , really nice ! I will definitely return !
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Great organic beers here, hard to find an organic brewery! Vibe can be hit or miss and I always feel a little uncomfortable sitting outside near the intersection, scared of an accident into the parking lot! But the drinks are good and there some pretty good food trucks on weekends! Worth a visit for sure

Rosa Dominguez D.

Yelp
I stopped in for the promotion of music (by Rosa Carbajal). The service I received gets a 5-star. My server was welcoming, showed attention to my beverage needs, and was down to earth. This made my time there worth it.

Emmie E.

Yelp
Their bar staff was rude, to the point that we left. We called up first to ask if there was music. They said yes. We then asked if there was a cover or charge. They said no. We came by to check out the music. We were still deciding to stay or go and, and within five mistes we were pressured in a rude way to buy a drink. Most likely if we would have stayed we would have bought some drinks and, had fun, but the waitress was just rude about the whole thing. Maybe they have problems with people not buying drinks and just listen to music, but they should have made clear upfront that there's a cover or a charge that's on them, and it's not okay to treat people rudely, and we were treated rudely: not okay, uncool, not likely to go back.

Yelp
As far as dog-friendly bars go in Ventura (or in America for that matter) Leashless is the best of the best of the best. Service is above and beyond. I've started going here once a week with my small dog. There's always other dogs here (their humans too) and everybody is incredibly friendly. There's an inside and outside seating area. QR codes on the tables let you order food from neighboring restaurant. Very chill spot. I have only tried their beer called "Cheater 5" and it's great. I believe it's low-gluten as well but I enjoy gluten in general so that wasn't necessarily a selling point- I just like lighter blonde Belgian style beers. I'm always there at night and so haven't gotten any really good pictures. But just trust me when I say this place is the definition of dog-friendly. It's literally in their name.

Yelp
It all starts with good beer and Leashless delivers in Spades. They have a good open floor plan with a great ocean breeze. Parking isn't great but when has a 5 minute walk killed you? The Tri-Fin Belgium Tripel is such a well done beer. Starts off so smooth and crisp that you forget you're drinking a 9% beer. The subtle lingering aftertaste is perfect while you sit and contemplate your next beer. All their IPAs finish so clean with very little bitterness. I honestly don't know how they managed to perform this feat with the large variety of IPAs they offer. Must be those organic ingredients. Foamball is a delicious well balance HAZY. V-town is a classic west coast IPA and it will not disappoint. The Coconutz Hazy IPA is 5 star. You get the toasted coconut taste right at the beginning, little bite from the hops then just a smooth taper off with no lingering finish. It's honestly in the top 5 of best beers I have ever had. The staff is cool and very informative. Give them a try!

Yelp
They Have Multiple Delicious Options, My Personal Favorite Is The Earth Day Double Hazy IPA. Great Environment, Pets Are Allowed! The Service Is Great And Fast. Will Definitely Come Back!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice outdoor, dog-friendly space. The Sunday afternoon we came there were a couple of musicians at the outdoor area. Plenty of tables, some with shade, the customers were groups of families and friends. We picked up dinner from Tacos El Diablo and it went well with the flight of Belgians we ordered. The beertender was very helpful.
google avatar

Michael V.

Yelp
This review is just for the beer, service and ambiance. Loved the beer lineup. Very impressed that it is an organic brewery as well. There is a great patio area with table as well as solo sitting. Inside is open and clean, with plenty of sitting. The service was great, very engaging and friendly. The ipa lineup is the best in the area. Great merch area with a great logo design as well. Definitely worth your time!
google avatar

Lola N.

Yelp
We enjoyed the organic brews and live music at Leashless until one drunk patron tried and grabbed my dog. Just regular scene at the brewery no biggie. I'm all for organic brews in house. Local brewery like this needs all the support they need. No wine or regular beers. Only in-house brews allowed. No non-alcoholic beers yet but they offer ginger beer as substitute. Works fine with me. There is a taco truck in the lot if you want some food (not sure if they are there all the time). The live music is great. I see people really enjoy it and so do we. Dog friendly on the patio. Parking could be of issue since the outdoor seatings took over parking spaces. I see many people bike there or walk like us. Definitely recommend Leashless brewery.
google avatar

Jennifer E.

Yelp
The beer here is good, but also pretty expensive. $10 for a pint! Yikes! They do use all organic ingredients, but I personally don't think their beers taste any better than the other breweries in town. If you want to try anything you have to purchase a flight or a half pour. They do not allow you to try a splash of any of their beers, which was surprising, as most breweries offer this when you're trying to decide on a full pour. The inside area is pretty small, but there is plenty of seating outside. Only downside to the outdoor seating is it takes up the entire parking lot. There is usually parking available on the street though. On weekends there is a food truck outside and dogs are always welcome here. We enjoyed the beer we tried, but we probably won't be back because of the price.

James S.

Yelp
Rude pourers. I understand that some idiots will take advantage of free "splashes" to determine if they like the beer or not, but they ruin it for the rest of us, who can actually afford an $8-$9 beer. So I ordered a beer that was possibly the worst that I've ever had. Would've been nice to taste test it. That was on top of the rude beer pourers. We are not going back anytime soon. I'll be at TT on Thompson.
google avatar

Freddie D.

Yelp
Best organic brewery in Ventura, Santa Barbara and SLO. Dare I say in CALIFORNIA. This is an epic brewery that occasionally has food trucks, live music and always a great vibe. Just across the street from Plaza Park, about three hundred and seventy eight yards from the pacific ocean you'll find the Foamball Hazy IPA, Cheater 5 Belgin-Pils to name a few. Beer for here and beer to-go, A must try brewery.

Squangle K.

Yelp
Nice spot, walking distance to the pier for good beer, catering truck food and cool music (Boom Duo!, Sunday afternoons). Damn lucky to live in Ventura where this stuff is easily accessible, but if you're driving up the coast, get of at California Street and park in the free parking structure on Santa Clara or just find street parking by the park next door.
google avatar

Corey B.

Yelp
Great beer and great environment. Sassy bartender made for an awkward first impression of the establishment. Cheers!
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
Great beers, great vibes, with perfect live music and a great food truck. If you like Belgians or interesting IPA's this is your place. It's 2 blocks from the Main Street Zoo, but is laid back and well worth a short walk.
google avatar

Samah Y.

Yelp
Robust and diverse beer selection Outrageously clean place Friendly, outgoing, and attractive staff Elliot and Abi were bartending and both were gems! I was thrilled with their service and beer recommendations! They both seem so enthused to be there and this always makes for a great experience. The owner John, left no stone unturned. The entire place has incredible attention to detail and overall has a conscious and welcoming vibe. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Very cool place!!! All the employees were very nice. Beer was fantastic! Food truck outside was great. Relaxed vibe with down to earth people. Street parking available. Metered parking available as you walk towards Main St. Freeway close. Clean and casual. I'll be back for sure! Try this spot out...
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Great brewery in Downtown Ventura. Great drinks! All organic which is almost unheard of. For being organic prices are more than fair. My favorite is the cheater 5 and my wifes favorite is the mosa!! Service is also great and they have a lot of great reggae style bands on the weekends!!
google avatar

Frank C.

Yelp
Good beer, grat services, the lunch truck has very good food. Good location, fast service.

Lisa C.

Yelp
I stopped in to Leashless on Mother's Day to try the Mosa, a fruited seltzer with mangoes...WOW! I loved it so much that I then tried the mixture of the Mosa and the G-Land smoothie seltzer (called Rainbow Sherbet!) and I'm hooked. Both of them beat a traditional mimosa any day!

Kylie W.

Yelp
The people were very rude and very pushy on trying to make me get more. Good music but rude service
google avatar

Yelp
Fabulous Organic Locally Brewed Beer Really clean, refreshing and tasty beer. Wonderful family owned establishment in beautiful Ventura. Always something new and delicious.

Yelp
Great Service, Great Drinks, & very chill and cool place to drink a brew or house made seltzers and enjoying a live show.

Yelp
This place was so cute! Loved the building and the beer. If you're looking for organic & gluten friendly beers... this is your place!
google avatar

Yelp
Fabulous beverages, ambiance and service. We accidentally stumbled upon this brewery and there was live music, which was amazing. The beverage menu was also fantastic. My dogs enjoyed the outdoor patio and loved the dog meal menu provided along with our meal. We will return.
google avatar

Yelp
Leashless is by far one of the best places to get a beer in Ventura County. The taproom is beautiful, clean, with friendly rad staff! They have a great outdoor space with lots of live music. They always have a great selection of beers! We love their IPA's - they do different flavors- really well! Coconut IPA's, mango milkshake ipas! We are a huge fan. We highly reccomend! They also do a great job of having different food trucks and cuisine there for us - you can also order from any down town restaurant! Go try out these beachy Ventura Style brews!
google avatar

Baylee Z.

Yelp
Great beers & friendly staff. One of the bartenders gave my dog a treat. Bathrooms are clean, the Mexican food truck is SO good. Sometimes they have live music
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
I read some of their bogus 1 star reviews. My girlfriend and I have been competing here almost every time we stop by Ventura. The owners, Leila and John (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong) are absolutely incredible. They always make you feel like you're at home. The actual establishment used to be a mechanic shop back in the day and they made it perfect. Lots of outside seating and a good room on the inside to escape the heat or rain. By far one of our favorite breweries. Will always be back!
google avatar

Bob D.

Yelp
Great service and laughter! You must try the Mosa, I'll be back for more! John and staff deliver great beverages with a dose of fun
google avatar

Cyndi S.

Yelp
So much fun! Dog friendly brewery. Open space with organic beers. Gluten reduced beer. Very earth friendly. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Erick H.

Yelp
I've frequented Leashless nearly since it opened and the beers have never disappointed. When I learned I have celiac disease, Leashless became the only local brewery offering beers I can enjoy (and only one of two in all of Southern California that offer celiac-friendly brews!). Luckily for me, it was already one of my favorite local breweries. The V-Town IPA is my go-to and it only gets better each time John tinkers with the recipe. The Cheater 5 is wonderfully refreshing when I'm in the mood for something other than an IPA. With the introduction of hard seltzers, they've truly set a new standard and I've not found any other that comes close to comparing to the flavors John comes up with.
google avatar

Justin R.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, great beer especially their Hazy IPA's, great location in downtown Ventura. I highly recommend a visit at this brewery if you're in Ventura or grab some beers to-go.
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
Great little spot, been here a couple times and the owner, John, really cares about the beer he makes but also your experience. It's a surfy little spot with a patio and is a converted old mechanics shop. As for the beer, it's good. He has some solid IPA and Belgium beers. Just understand that a Belgium beer is going to have more gusto with alchohol (higher IBU and ABV) so don't let that catch you off guard. His specialty with this spot is the Belgium style of beer. So swing by and check it out, if that's not your style then go with a couple of his IPA and if you that's not your bag either, he has an amazing ginger soda! He has good trucks pretty consistently there, I beleieve it's a rolling option on which one it is, there s a handful in the area that dip from place to place specializing in different types and styles of food. And note, the place is about two years old and is alive and well. Swing by and say hi...preferably with a beer in hand!
