So many food stalls and many halal options of different cuisines. You could try katsu curry with rice so close to jollof rice with jerk chicken. I tried Dorothy’s Deli and portion size was okay - could’ve had an extra plantain piece or more jerk chicken and rice but it tasted phenomenal. One of the best jollofs I’ve tried of my very few. 12.50 for the following meal.

Definitely a go to place for lunch if you’re close. The food is fresh with a lot of variety to choose from. I had the Japanese chicken with teriyaki sauce and also the Italian pasta stall which was not that nice. Updated review - 13th March; pictures to go with the market. This day didn’t have all the stalls there but it gives you a good idea on the amount of food there is and different varieties.

This is one of Londons hidden street food markets. Lots of stalls selling many international foods and snacks. There are plenty of opportunities to taste and try the different flavours, and most meals are at a reasonable price.

Loads of Food choices. I ended up going to the Turkish food stand and had lamb wrap. They were very generous with the lamb and it was at a goid price too.

Leather Lane Market near Farringdon Station is one of those hidden gems in central London that bursts to life during lunchtime. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with a fantastic mix of global street food that makes every visit feel like a mini culinary adventure. Among the many stalls, I’ve often gravitated toward the Ethiopian vendor — their 'beef combo' is rich in flavour, beautifully spiced, and consistently delicious. However, I’ve noticed on a few occasions that the food wasn’t served hot enough. While the taste never disappoints, the temperature should match the quality — especially for meat-based dishes. That said, the market remains a go-to spot for a quick, satisfying lunch with character. Just a little more attention to serving temperature would make the experience flawless.

Leathen Lane market close to Chancery Lane Station is a great little market mainly street food,but also stalls selling clothes, houseware... It's open only during the week . I opted for a dak galbi ( spicy chicken) at Yog!Yo Korean food , delicious rich in flavor. They are at the top of the street in a beautiful caravan, and I bought a bibimbap at Gangnam ( korean ) ... Delicious! After you can have wonderful coffee at Prufrock or at Department of Coffee and Social Affairsv. In two words: Amazing Leather Lane !

Relative to its nearest neighbours that I've frequented, Whitecross and Chapel Markets, Leather Lane market offers a roughly similar variety with a significantly reduced quantity and quality. Whereas Chapel Market plays host to an assortment of food ingredient stalls and housewares hawkers, Leather Lane's offers books and cut-rate DVDs and random unlabelled apparel. Whitecross Market offers mouthwatering ethnic bites, whilst Leather Lane's has mediocre burritos, Indian, and Thai. If not for its convenience to both my flat and our former office, I'd probably never visit. Especially with the spurt of new eateries that have opened (and continue to open) in the Farringdon/Clerkenwell area, there's really no reason to have 'just okay' takeaway when you can have 'quite nice' grub instead.

The Leather Lane Market is where I go everyday during lunch. You find everything there: shoes for £5, tops and trousers from Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Moto (...) for £10 or even less. There is also a stand held by a French lady where you can find fancy necklaces, earings or other accessories for less than £7. It is my favourite stand. Every colour, every style. If she does not have what you want, you just ask and she gets it for you! There is also one guy who sells Estee Lauder make-up for £5-7 and branded perfumes for £15. As Christmas is approaching, they will display nice evening dresses very soon! (Just a tip for you girls ;-)) The stand at the end of the market is where you can buy Gucci, Chanel or Guess bags and wallets. so, shop till you drop without making a huge dent in the bank.

If you work around Farringdon/Chancery Lane, Leather Lane is a blessing. It's a blessing because of the variety of the food: fancy Japanse, Korean, gluten-free, cakes? You have it, you have it ALL. The number of stands varies a lot from a day to another, and depending on the weather. It's a blessing because it can also save you a whole load of money! I have NEVER spent more than £6 on a meal. Okay, maybe, but that's just when I pig out on sushi. Why would anyone working around there even consider Pret or EAT? It boggles my mind. Quick tip: Don't dismiss the shops behind the stalls either. There are some magical Fallafel and asian places to eat there too. Om nom nom!

Tucked between Greville Street and Clerkenwell Road, this market in the heart of the city is almost unknown to tourists. It's an outpost of real London where office workers go to graze at lunch time in the numerous sandwich bars. And lunch times is when to see this market at its most frenetically busy. As well as having a good feed, you can also buy shoes, clothes, handbags, potted plants, jewellery, fruit and veg and electrical goods, all at extremely keen prices. There's been a market here for over 300 years. If you think you can guess the origin of the street name, think again - it's got nothing to do with an ancient leather trade. In the 13th century the street was called Le Vrunelane, possibly the name of a local merchant. In the 14th century this became corrupted to Loverone Lane, subsequently to Liver and finally to the Leather we know today. But it's got nothing to do with leather, despite the confusing fact that you can buy leather shoes and handbags there. Honest. The market is open from 10.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Working from the London office for a change I was in dire need of an alternative lunch from the M&S and EAT options. Hearing about Leather Lane Market, a colleague and I wandered down to check out what was on offer. The whole street was packed full of various street food traders, stalls selling mobile phone accessories and bags, with bricks-and-mortar food businesses down both sides as well. The sheer number of food options will mean making a decision will be very hard indeed - I'd suggest wandering down both sides first before you do. It's extremely popular with office workers given its location so expect the crowds. I ended up ordering a box of vegetarian food from Quiche & Roast and it was all delicious for only a fiver. It's really a shame that our office will be moving soon so I won't get to try here again! Tip: The market runs every weekday from around 10:00 to mid-afternoon.

Like fooding options? Don't mind paying £3 for a donut? Fancy a set of knives? Leather Lane can be a hot, stanky mess on weekdays. Thousands of office gophers pour into this narrow stretch to pick up grub, clutching their lamb wraps and mediterranean salads scurrying back to whence they came. On one fine freezing afternoon, yours truly opted for a set of fine steak knives in lieu of a salt beef sandwich. T'was no easy decision. And it looks like there are new additions at the Lane: I spy an Indonesian, Vietnamese and a taquito-inside-a-burrito stall. Gonna give those a go this week, will report on results.

Mmmmm... burritos! Yuck. Make-up? Mmmmm... Indian food! Yuck. Pillows? Mmmmm... Sushi! Yuck. Cell phone accessories? This is my constant battle with Leather Lane. Don't get me wrong, the mmms always outweigh the yucks, but just when I'm getting excited about the delicious falafel or coffee or pad thai I'm about to tuck into, I see that the next stall down is selling 'high street' clothing and ugg boots. The street food? Delicious. The other stalls just confuse me.

A real local-flavour kind of market, Leather Lane is filled with miscellaneous bits of tat, reject high-street clothes, an array of foodstuff items that may or may not be at the end of their shelf-life, leather gloves, hats, jumble-sale-esque high-end makeup, 'memory foam' pillows, burritos, falafels, etc, etc, etc. The brick-and-mortar businesses that line the street vary from greasy cafs to designer-like shoe stores (Kate Kanzier) to artisanal coffee shops to authentic sushi bars. It's the sort of market that you'd thought had been turfed out of Central London. But you'd thought wrongly. Leather Lane Market remains - a great all-rounder market with everything you don't really need but kind of want since it's pretty cheap. I bought a pillow at one end for £10. I stayed away from the gefilte fish in a jar at the other end. I was considering the packet of Hob Nobs for 15p, though.

Leather Lane market is a hidden gem two hops away from Chancery Lane tube station. Like most markets in London there's a wealth of product for consumers to choose from. Whether you need olives, nuts, clothes or cell phone accessories chances are you will be able to find whatever you're looking for here. I bought a respectable black blouse and an adorable Topshop dress from here for £20 total. They have yet to fall apart due to poor stitching, so I believe I made a really good purchase. This place is a bargainer's paradise. You will be able to find good quality stuff if you're prepared to dig through all of the stock these stalls have on offer.

Hear a lot of recent hype about Leather Lane Market so decided to stroll there again. Firstly I found a very trendy Burrito place in the name of Chilango which is the focal point at the start of the road then it gets a bit drabby as yu walk further with stall selling leather hats and gloves to electrical goods. However looking in between what I had found was a long market full of nice smelling food stalls, including burritos, falafels, baked goods whichi is a treat for nearby office workers. There a few hidden trendy coffee places here like Prufock Coffee and Department of Social Affairs which is worth a visit!

'Real shops' are greatbut there is something about a market. Leather Lane market is, as you might expect, on Leather Lane. It is an outdoor market running on weekdays until around 4.00pm. It is not a posh arty market. It is a typical London street market. You can buy bags (and, in fact, I replaced my stolen rucksack at Leather Lane - a decent quality rucksack for £15 - result), clothes, mobile phone accessories, computers and computer gear and food there, all at reasonable prices. There are some excellent food stalls, including a burrito stall where you can get burritos the size of a baby - I've bought from there once. They are excellent, but just way, way too big. There are also whole foods and drinks, thai and curry. Leather Lane is a fun market where you can get some good bargains. As a working stiff, it is small enough that you can have a proper browse in the one hour we get for lunch.

Not the biggest market around, and not the most convenient timings for a market (work calls unfortunately), but if you ever get the opportunity to, come check out this small market full of bric a brac of all manner, from fruits to street food to vintage clothing, and even flowers. It spans the whole leather lane, and as you walk down it, you'll be greeted with the lovely smells of food wafting down the entire lane. If you ever get tired, stop by shops and cafes along the lane, from daddy donkey to prufrock coffee and take a break before finishing, but chances are, you'll be able to cover the whole market within 30minutes. Some great bargains here though, especially for fresh produce (I got 5 avocadoes for £1!) if you're in the area and itching for some retail therapy, look no further

Leather Lane is a strange place. Hidden away from the main high street in Holborn it is located just next the large financial firms, and also Hatton Gardens (the heart of the diamond shops in London). I often head down there during lunch time as apart from the many random stalls (panama hats, batteries, discount biscuits, fruit smoothies!) it also has a great range of places to eat. They have fantastic salad stalls, a great thai curry van and possibly my favourite 'Daddy Donkey'. This huge van serves up great burritos and there are always long queues for this one. A burrito is a large tortilla stuffed full of rice, beans, chicken or beef, and topped with sour cream and guacamole. The street really is a hidden gem and as well as the good food there is always some random thing you will pick up from a stall at some point.

Leather Lane Market is a great weekday market that is very popular with nearby workers. I used to work on Vine HIll and I would regualrly have lunch in one of the cafes in the market. There are lots of places to eat that are great value- the salad buffet bar in the middle of the market is really good. Many of the cafes also do HUGE jacket potatoes for around £3. As far as market clothes go- the stalls are quite good selling knock off gear including Topshop, Oasis and Monsoon. most of teh clothes are very up to date and one jeans stall even sells Topshop's bestselling Baxter skinny jeans for only £20. Bargain! I also love the make up and skincare stall which has great brands including Elizabeth Arden, Clinique and Dior at discounted prices. The market is only open from 10- 2.30 Monday to Friday- so if you don't work nearby it's worth droppping by when you're free.

I wandered into Leather Lane market the other day and thought it was a great little market. Nestled in the heart of Holborn, and hemmed in with lots of local businesses, there was something about it, that was very charming. There aren't very many places in London with local flavour, so to find this little pocket of charm, was very welcome indeed. I like that it lives up to its name and sells lots of leather goods. It reminds me a lot of Columbia Road Flower Market, which delights me because I think it is these wonderful markets that bring colour to a city like London.

Not a bad market, lots and lots of interesting tasty food options, along with some really rubbish home and clothing stands. Great place to come if you are in the area and hungry, not worth trekking all the across town for though.

Leather Lane market is one of those places that has astoundingly managed to withstand the corporate erosion that has been happening in London for the past couple of decades. There was a time when central London was filled with these beautiful buzzing street markets (from Cheapside to Covent Garden, London was a market town first and foremost!), nowadays you'd be lucky to get one every couple of miles. But this one has survived, albeit also lost some of it's allure down the years. Originally a hustle and bustle food market complementing the nearby jewelries, nowadays you can find anything from niche falafel joints to alternative coffee shops such as the 'Department of Coffee and Social Affairs'. The place has its ups and downs and really feeds off the massive lunch hour footfall from nearby workers who flood the place in search of quality street food and a quality moment away from sad desks. It also serves the local residents well. Ups: street foods, you can never discover enough awesome places. You can get it all here and its very cheap. I once found an open buffet place that had an all you can eat for 3 pounds (with drinks), let's just say I stacked up for days! There are places with quite a cult following here. Tip: Try the Turkish lamb sandwich tent. This guy opens for a very short period of time, has a small amount of incredible meat and wants to sell it all and move on with his day. The meat is to die for and you can add some lovely feta cheese to cap off a brilliant sandwich. A little on the pricey side, but you'll be lucky to even get a sandwich, a minute after 1.30 and the place will be all but out of stock! (Possible?) Downs: Rows and rows of stalls selling stuff like bootleg DVDs and laser pens. I guess its not really a down as much as it is strange to see considering how hard corporations in London have been trying to gentrify the city and cleanse it of character, so its always refreshing to see these things, but they clearly don't fit in well with the food culture the market is trying to go for. But I'd argue that the place just wouldn't be the same without them!

Love this market. If you look closely you may find some hidden gems which are well worth the money!!

Leather lane market is I think the oldest market in London and is probably the only true Londoners market left. It is quite a small market frequented by office workers and a few locals located alone leather lane in the heart of central London. Many different things are sold on here such as the usual cheap food products and dvds as well as designer cloths (although I couldn't vouch for there authenticity ) and there is a great maezine stall at the top which sells them for 75p each or £1 for the posh ones which I believe are last months issues but are all the normal mags you get in the shops.

Traditional London street market off Clerkenwell Road at the Grays Inn end. Low on fruit and vegetables (though a few stalls at the beginning sell them), but high on cheap market fashion, nuts and teas, cloths, cheap toothpastes, and smoothies. The atmosphere is wonderful, bustling but not too big. The street is full of cafes to sit in after shopping too, and the area full of London history, with wonky old townhouses and Hatton Gardens nearby.

This is a really standard London street market with stalls selling anything from clothers, bags, jewellry to phones and food. Really good buritto stall about half way along the market. Well worth a stroll during the day.

Sometimes, when I am in the region I buy things from there and they appeared to be on a high quality. I am glad and happy because of this. In addition I would say that there you can find a tasty food, that is really cheap according to me. If you are there, spare some time to have a closer look at the goods and products

Great local market with real character. Frequented by both local office workers and visitors. Wide range of items on offer. Great for interesting jewelry. Large number of clothing stalls offering branded items at good prices. Also flowers, books, varied food stalls and toiletries. Enjoy an hour strolling through the stalls and grab a bite to eat. Some nice pubs and bars in the vacinity for afterwards.

Great atmosphere and great variety

I just love Leather Lane Market, in the middle of the city it's a joy having such a beautiful place. There's loads of options for food, my favorite one is All about coffee, they make the perfect cappucino and yummy pastas, specially the lasagna.

I eat on leather lane almost everyday that I can break away from my desk for a nice bite. Almost any food you want can be found here from Reubens to Falafel. A Gregs and Subway are there, but no idea why, because the choices are really extensive. I wouldn't say that Leather Lane gives off that sexy market-vibe, the architecture stinks. But if you're not a snob, and you like good food situated by Chancery Lane station, you're in luck. Daddies Burritos have their own cult following, there is a great Middle Eastern wrap place down on the other end which always has a line out the door, and I promise to write a review for them. And there is a vegetarian salad place, which is surprisingly flavorful, always has a line, and given the large portion size for 4.30 pounds, I'd say is the best bargain. There is a decent, but overpriced pizza place, and a whole lot of cafes. All of this makes going to leather lane and excellent choice for lunch or weekday shopping. I get my hair cut for 5 quid every few weeks, massive find! And I'm not in the market for funny hats, mobile phones or jeans from a stall. But if you're in the mood for a purchase, you can probably find things here a great deal cheaper than elsewhere. If you work close by, you probably already come here for lunch, if you don't, then you should. Top notch lunch grub.
