L'Ecusson

It was a pleasure dining here. The ingredients were fresh and expertly prepared, with well-balanced flavors. The staff was kind and very welcoming, and the atmosphere was both refined and romantic.

L’Ecusson was best restaurant we went to during our short trip to Beaune. We had Menu Decouverte and, between the two of us, experienced all options on the menu. The service was very special and felt almost like we were alone in the whole place despite numerous other diners present. Overall, highly recommended for a delicious meal and exquisite presentation of the dishes.

Excellent restaurant in Beaune, probably one of the best that we went to over the years of passing by Beaune each year. Very fine food, too choices of wines, excellent service and location. We will certainly come back. Top chef. Michelin star level.

Decent food but nothing spectacular. The cheese platter was okay, wife’s beef starter was a weird mish-mash of ingredients that did not click . The chicken thigh mains was good enough and the dessert was the best dish of the night. Overall the dining experience was good no doubt, but the finesse was lacking in both the food and the presentation.

Been here for a quick lunch. Service was very good and fast. Knowledgable staffs with proper table service. We went with a 3 course lunch menu, each dish were of top quality and extraordinary flavours in the cuisine. They also offer a wide selections of Burgundy wines to pair with different dishes. Highly recommended and definitely need to reserve in advance!

Delicious food very well presented by this talented chef. Great service and wine. The restaurant is contemporary and spotlessly clean. Overall, I would award it four and a half stars. Only deduction of half a star is nothing about the food, it’s for the artificial flower arrangements, which detract from the excellent standard of everything else about this restaurant.

Just a short walk from the town center, the restaurant has a beautiful patio outside and an elegant interior. Each dish was well presented and executed and very balanced in flavor and texture. I am usually not one to rave about the dessert but I had their ice cream made from Epoisses, a local pungent soft cheese, and really enjoyed it. Both gentlemen serving us were very attentive and one of them spent some time chatting with us about travels to Japan. Overall we really enjoyed the experience and would recommend them if you are in the Beaune area.

We had lunch at L'Ecusson and were delighted to find a restaurant that we will return to again and again. My starter of coco bean velouté with pine nuts and cucumber was stunning--beautiful, flavorful, and with good texture contrasts. Perfect for a very hot Beaune day. And every other dish was wonderful. Uses first-rate ingredients, finely prepared and beautifully presented. And the price is correct. The wine list is well-chosen and fairly priced.

What an absolutely fantastic place to eat. Every item of the menu I ordered was simply outstanding. The dishes are not only beautifully presented, but there is such care for a balance in flavors that each bite is just great. Highly recommended, and the price is worth every cent and more. The only thing I have to add about it is that the gap between courses could have been just a bit more rapid. Not too much as to feel like we are wanted out of the place, but I do feel that there was just a bit too much waiting time in the pauses from dish to dish. This barely takes anything away from the place, however, and so it keeps its five stars.
