This is an excellent restaurant in the heart of beautiful Granville. There were several tasty little amuses bouches before the main meal arrived: one was smoked herring caviar, another was an oyster with a fruity base, the third was salmon on a little toast and lastly there was a savory soup. The appetizer was beautifully presented scallops with a Jerusalem artichoke custard and pea fronds for added freshness. A very light vinaigrette decorated the scallops. The main was a perfectly done piece of veal with handmade gnocchi. For dessert I had a crêpe suzette with heavy cream inside garnished with citrus fruit and what looked to be an extremely delicate maple leaf cookie for crunch. Just when I thought I couldn't take any more, out came two little mignardises to finish the meal, a macaroon and a fabulous little cream puff with quite a lot of puff!
The service was excellent, the wine was good, the ambiance was classy and the food was exceptional. The chef would be a very good reason to visit Granville again.
