Jurassic World Rebirth Takes the Dinos to Thailand | Condé Nast Traveler

"Built for the London Olympics with a series of kayak rapids, this training course substituted for a fast-moving jungle river; despite the all-concrete setting that looked nothing like Thailand, we placed proxy rocks with the raft and relied on VFX to transform everything else." - Emily Zemler

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ locations: the remote real-life settings behind the dino adventure

Originally built to host the canoe slalom at the London 2012 Olympics, this white water course is repurposed in the film as the setting for a nerve-shredding T-rex rapids sequence in which the Delgado family attempt to escape one of Ile Saint-Hubert’s apex predators. Footage of its powerful rapids was later blended with shots from a flooded Thai quarry to create one of the movie’s standout action set pieces, and the centre is now promoted as a place fans can visit themselves. - Phil de Semlyen

This sports venue is truly delightful. It’s such a pleasure to watch the determination of those battling the powerful water and waves, whether in team boats or individual kayaks. I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere here, and I try to visit once or twice a week. The café adds to the charm—coffee on cold days and beer on warm ones. Altogether, it’s an outstanding place with an incredible vibe

Google
Fantastic place to practice your open water and white water rafting skills there is an equipment hire area on site so you dont need to bring your own gear, ample parking the largest car park is just 100 yards from the entrance. Staff are super friendly, there is a cafe on site too with inside or outside (on balcony) seating. The road leading to the place is only a normal 30 mph road and it gets busy quickly so try and give yourself plenty of time to get there.

Fantastic facility, make time for coffee or food on the terrace because it's lovely. As described on the website, great fun white water rafting. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a thrill!

Jordan was great. Parking easy. Open gendered changing rooms with showers. Also had a mirror and hairdryer which was nice. Lockers were easy to use. Had a group of 9 for the whole raft, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you see it, one person at the helm doesn’t paddle. This position can rotate between within your group, which might be a good thing, so you can take a break because this was a tiring activity for sure. Great fun though!

Lee Valley White Water Centre is an absolutely fantastic destination for water adventure lovers! We went for white water rafting, and the experience was thrilling from start to finish. The staff are well-trained, friendly, and make sure everyone stays safe while having fun. They also offer great membership options for regular users – perfect if you’re planning to go often. We noticed some excellent offers for families and friends, making it more affordable to enjoy as a group. It’s also a brilliant place to celebrate birthday parties, especially for teens or adults who love an adrenaline rush. The facilities are clean, well-organised, and there’s even a nice café on-site for relaxing after your adventure. Highly recommended for a fun-filled and energetic day out! 💦🚣‍♂️

White Water Rafting Rodeo Wow, when they say it’s intense they really mean it. You need to be a strong swimmer to manage in the currents. It’s rough and you WILL fall in, so be prepared. Our instructor was strict and gave clear instructions which is needed because you could get seriously hurt if you don’t listen. A brilliant day and it was fun. You need to bring a swimming costume and they provide you with a wet suit and shoes. Parking is was free for our booking, which gave us 8 hours. The grounds are really lovely and had we known, would have packed a picnic or eat lunch in the cafe. Be prepared to do a swim test at the start, which if you fail you will not be able to take part in the activity. The negatives were that our session was cancelled multiple times due to not having enough people to fill a boat which is very inconvenient, especially when trying to find a mutual date for 3 busy adults.

Yelp
We flew into London a day early prior to joining a guided tour and my sons wanted to do something active. My wife found this facility where the kayak competition was held for the London Olympics. We pre-booked which I think is required. You have to be above the age of 14 to white water raft. It was an awesome experience. You go through a loop and we were on the water for an hour or so. We went around 6 or 7 times. Tom was our guide and you could tell he was very experienced. The facility serves lunch and beers for after your adventure. It is approximately an hour outside of town and I recommend as a must do for anyone to take a break from the sightseeing. They also have kayaks and tubes.

Yelp
I visited this place four months ago and I would therefore like to thank the instructors and the whole team for making the day special for us all. We were a big group of around 60 people and we all managed to have fun. Although it can be seen as quite daunting at the beginning my instructor Tony made sure that we were all constantly happy and safe. Tony helped me overcome my fears and made sure I was smiling and was happy for being there! His words of encouragement made us all think clear, stay focused and enjoy our day out at the same time. Even now, four months later, we all look at the pictures and think of what a wonderful time we had!! I would highly recommend it to people that want to spend the day in the water with there friends and families. The activities will keep everyone busy for a long time and you can also enjoy a nice coffee and croissant at their lovely coffee shop based on the first floor! Tip: Safety comes first so make sure you always keep the safety equipment with you whilst in water!!

Yelp
We went white water rafting for a friends birthday and it was the best! The instructor was hilarious and still managed to reassure me we weren't going to drown. And at the end we received a cd of approx 70 photos as a memento for just a tenner. Over all great day!

Yelp
Poorly managed and not recommend for families in the late afternoon. If you like stale food and uncontrollable Staff outings / corporate days then this is the place for you! We have visited this site a few times over the years but just recently, the standards of Lee Valley White Water Centre have fallen tremendously. On the last few visits for breakfast, We have been served stale food that even been left over from the previous day or not cooked probably .And being charged a high price for the privilege along with being made to sit on the cheap plastic seats. It seems the fancy seating shown on their website is mainly reserved for corporate events and unusable for the general public even at 10 o'clock in the morning when the site empty! That brings me on to the late afternoon. Where I witness on more than one occasion this site being overrun with drunken corporate day's staff acting very badly along with swearing and being very loud spoiling the enjoyment of others. It seems no one in control over their behaviour and lewd remarks and questionable very bad behaviour of these events! And for this case I would not recommended Lee Valley White Water Centre for a family day Shame on Lee Valley Park To Allow This Site To Operate Like This!

Yelp
Excellent fun of a competition prize I won from Brent Council's magazine The Brent Magazine. Not for the faint-hearted and pretty heavy-duty for a competition prize. First one has to put on wetsuits and lifejackets. Then jump in near the end of the course, float down and swim to the banks when instructed. Excellent fun on the rafts riding the olympic rapids. Richard fell over the sides and had to be dragged back on board where he rested like a beached whale for a few minutes before being told to sit up. We had about an hour and a half of going round the course many times. At one point the whole raft capsized and we all went under and find our way to the banks. Difficult to describe but fantastic and good wholesome old-fashioned fun not far from London!
