A west‑side institution for decades, known for Cantonese‑leaning comfort plates, hot braised wings, and reliable lunch specials. Cited by the Wichita Eagle among the city’s enduring Chinese “throwbacks,” and still very much in action.

The food wasn't bad just tasted pretty average to us. Nothing really stood out as being the best. Ordered the shrimp fried rice and the shrimp tasted like it had some sort of film or breading on it. It was definitely not appealing. The older lady was very nice but our waitress was not. She seemed annoyed that we were there and that she had to do her job. Now the atmosphere was very dark and extremely uninviting.

First time ever going I had the general chicken and white rice little spicy, but pretty good actually. But I asked him if they crab red goose were sweet and they told me yes but there wasn’t sweet. Like traditional crab dragons so I have to dock some points for that and also my lemonade had seeds in it, which was pretty weird for me that had a pretty good time

Google
A really great Chinese restaurant! Our favorite Chinese restaurant closed down so we thought we’d give lee’s a try for the first time. Food came out very fast and the servers were very nice and attentive! The food was also amazing! We now have our new favorite Chinese restaurant! And prices are also cheap!

Google
The food is very bland and expensive. Dillons is better and that is not a compliment to Dillons.

Google
Insanely overpriced low quality food. Wont be coming back. $8 for large 32oz egg drop soup is insane along with adding $2.50 upgrade for "fried rice" to each combo. Was literally white rice with soy sauce and burnt bits inside. Would not recommend don't waste your money. Spent $55 on two entrees with fried rice, large egg drop soup, and an order or Crab Rangoon. The beef they use is mushy and weird almost tastes like it's on the verge of spoiling. Idk how anyone actually likes to eat here let alone afford it??

I absolutely love this place for chinese. They treated my hubby and I so well. Great customer service a bit pricey but worth it for the experience of dining with your significant other. Will definately be coming back here. Make sure you leave a tip for the waitresses. They filled my cup without me asking.

Google
I was disappointed. I expected more for my order of $12.75 + tax + tip. This Sunday last, my chicken fried rice order was warmed over and served to me dry and looking like minute rice. It tasted recycled with sparse curled up chicken pieces too. Uhg...No big deal. I won't be back...your mileage may differ. My buyer's made to order beef and broccolli with white rice was tasty as she said...but still...

We were in town for shopping and wanted to try a place we have never been. We came across this place and I’m so glad we did! The food was very good and the staff was friendly. There were a few other groups while we were there but we saw several getting to-go orders so you can do that as well. We will definitely come here more often when we come to town now that we know about it! We are always in search of good Chinese food and this place has it.

Yelp
If you're looking for real Cantonese Chinese food, this is the place! I grew up in southern California, and am half Chinese, so I grew up eating Chinese food and crave it often for comfort. I moved to Wichita for medical school. They have two menus: a Chinese menu and the regular menu. The regular menu has the run of the mill chinese food: orange chicken, kung pao chicken, chow mein, beef and broccoli, etc. While these are good, I crave the more hard to find Chinese food items just because I grew up with them (Hong Kong style chow mein, Beef Chow fun) and they aren't always made completely correctly here due to factors like lack of ingredients. But, to my surprise Lee's did! I asked for the separate Chinese menu, and I ordered the Cantonese Pan Fried Noodle. It was great! It did contain some veggies that I'm not used to, but it still hit the spot! It did take a little longer to make as it was the from smaller menu, but 100% worth the wait! The owner (or I'm assuming he was the owner) as well as the wait staff was very kind and checked on me often. I highly recommend and am planning on coming back soon to try their other dishes!

Yelp
Still the best Chinese in town, so avoid anywhere else. Food seems to be heated in a microwave or some other way the last few times I've visited. I rarely hear fryers or the woks going, which I used to when eating here. The last two times I've received food that, while warm had sections which were cold. It all seemed fully cooked so I'm guessing it was batch cooked and reheated. With prices as they are, I would like to receive freshly made food. Service is always fine, it's always clean, and the owners are wonderful. I just wish they still made the food fresh like it used to be.

Yelp
Disappointed in the quality of the chicken fried rice but appreciated the carrots as peas in the rice. The soup was very good tho!

Todd H.

Yelp
Has been a few years since I've been here. This used to be a good place with a nice lunch buffet but now it's gone. Ordered the kung pow chicken. There was a little chicken in what I was served but the whole thing was buried in sauce. Crab puffs appear to be pre made from some food service. Service was good but based on the quality of the food I was disappointed.

Yelp
If you are gluten-free, this is the spot for a wide variety of fresh and delicious Chinese cuisine. We are both pretty sensitive to gluten and we have never had a reaction after eating here a dozen times or more. If you're not sensitive to gluten, try Lee's if you're looking for a consistently fresh and wonderfully prepared Chinese restaurant classics. We love the Hunan Shrimp and the Sweet and Sour chicken. Lemon chicken lovers will delight in Lee's tart and refreshing recipe. Prices are reasonable and service is always friendly, too. If you dine in, you can settle into a comfy booth and you might feel a touch of nostalgia if you're an 80's kid like me.

Yelp
Long time favorite for Wichita Chinese. Started going to this place in 2012 and have tried to go every time we are in Kansas. The food is top notch, the service is always fast, and it has a very classic feel to it. Be careful when asking for HOT HOT spice level because they will serve you LAVA. I always do it and always wish that I hadn't. 100% going to do it again. The egg rolls are somewhat of a local legend and the specials will put you in a food coma. The Duck is amazing. This place is also open on Christmas Eve which originally drew us in.

Yelp
Chicken overcooked and so dry that it drained my mouth of all moisture. The Orange sauce tasted like yesterday's brown sauce microwaved for today and I don't think the sauce was ever even in the same room as an orange. One of the worst meals I've ever had. It felt like I was digesting thumb tacks
google avatar

Gaylien Q.

Yelp
Food was quite tasty, although for the price they charged I believe the servings could have been a bit larger. Was glad that there wasn't an additional cost for the rice. I highly recommend the Happy Family dish. It came with many different types of protein and a great variety of veggies. Service was prompt and friendly. Cost wise, I might consider some other restaurant. But if I'm craving Chinese, I'll be back.

Yelp
Average Chinese buffet at best. Selections are VERY limited and not worth the price. Visited a couple of times and just not a good experience either time.

Yelp
Ordered this to have delivered and the food was just not great. Really bland, fried rice tasted like plain rice....just overall not a wonderful meal. Probably won't order again.
google avatar

Nakisha M.

Yelp
Love their food. Always warm & welcoming, great atmosphere, quality, &we never feel rushed when we are there. Their delivery food is always good too. Never soggy or over cooked.

Yelp
We stopped by here in the evening and ordered the Braised Duck with Vegetables to-go. We waited about 10 minutes for the food to be ready. The Duck wasn't too salty and it was packed with flavor. Most importantly, the Duck wasn't dry, unlike some restaurants that serves Duck. I also like how the sauce wasn't too heavy. Portions were reasonable for $18.50. Overall, one of the better Braised Ducks I had. I would gladly come back to eat here. 4/5

Yelp
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Wichita & they offer great authentic dishes - make sure to get the Chinese menu!! For an appetizer, tried the crab rangoons that were yummy. Then ordered their General Tso's chicken, Hot and Sour Chicken Wings & Szechuan Ma Po Tofu medium spicy. Everything was so good but those wings.... Amazing, delicious, a MUST-HAVE! The portions are fair & so are the prices. The employees were so nice as well!
google avatar

Mandi S.

Yelp
They have some pretty decent Chinese food. The fried rice is kind of bland however... the meat and veggies are really flavorful with the spices and they really bring out the dish. Typically I will get medium or hot because I like my food spicy. I do have to say that it is much hotter than you would expect so if you'd like really hot foods you might like the medium just fine if you don't then I would definitely ask for mild. The crab Rangoon was tasty. There is no crab nor imitation crab in them, only cream cheese. The sweet-and-sour tasted more like a bland duck sauce. The egg drop soup is low on egg but has corn and peas in it. It made it taste way too sweet and it needed a lot of salt and pepper. I don't really use salt when eating out as things are usually over-salted but this needed it.

Bill S.

Yelp
Went around lunch time. Had the sweet-and-sour chicken lunch special it was very reasonable. Also food was very good. Service was great. Will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Lee's has been around a very long time in Wichita. Eating here is like stepping back in time about 40 years and in a good way. The food is what I call American Chinese style, easy to eat and pleasing to the palate. You can tell the regulars are well known by the owner's because they are welcomed accordingly. I didn't feel that way, but I might if I had been going 30 years or more.
google avatar

M Y.

Yelp
Plentiful proportions, Flavors right on. I ordered the Mu Shu pork- the pork was delicate and buttery, veggies plentiful and fresh. The Cantonese Mapo Tofu De'lish- ordered medium heat, it was more mild to med for me. Overall happy with my order from Lee's. I did do the add on with 2 egg rolls AND smoothie option, smoothie didn't make it, idk if it was the restaurant or the DD driver. Little note: the "service " fee was i believe $1.99 and the delivery fee was 5.99, with an option for tip. They do reroute this thru Doordash, the driver made $4.00 from that charge, so unfortunately you may want to add a little extra for the driver.

Dominic D.

Yelp
Salt and pepper chicken is phenomenal. Service is always quick and friendly. Best Chinese food in Wichita!

Derrick G.

Yelp
I was in the mood for Chinese food so I decide to order Lee's Chinese Restaurant via DoorDash. I was not very impressed with the flavor or portion side of food I received. I usually usually China King for takeout but decided to try something different. The General Tso Chicken was pretty good but the remainder of my meals lacked flavor.

Morgan C.

Yelp
Food was not very good and inside of restaurant was not pleasing. Better food from chain

Eric S.

Yelp
Clean and peaceful, great food friendly staff reasonable prices. Will definitely go back and try more dishes.

Gregg F.

Yelp
They set the bar high for egg rolls. Clean, relaxing environment. Never been disappointed

Yelp
The food was not good at all. I got the orange chicken and the food had no flavor at all. I felt the the chicken was over cooked and the rice was just bland. My son got the chow mein and it was undercooked and also no flavor. I would not recommend this place. Oh and also it's not the cheapest place. Don't like that I spent $30 on horrible food.

Yelp
It has been two years since I last stayed a couple nights in Wichita Kansas. As I review YELP for dinner plans, it occurred to me that I have been here in this neighborhood before, in fact, I've enjoyed a dinner at this restaurant before. Unfortunately, I apparently didn't write a review last time. Well, lets remedy that right here and now. I walked over from my hotel...across the parking lot. They appear fairly busy today, but I was greeted and shown to my table (booth). I ordered a hot tea and a water. There are two menus available. The standard americanized menu which has all the familiar, usual choices that you can have at any chinese restaurant...and I'm sure they are yummy. Then there is the authentic chinese menu. You might recognize some of the dishes presented, and a whole lot of dishes who's names the common westerner will struggle attempting to pronounce. Try something new tonight...you just may surprise yourself and find new wonderful creations. Tonight I ordered pot stickers...I don't think there are any pot stickers anywhere in this world that aren't absolutely delicious. And these tonight were that and then some. I really like adding crushed red chili and oil...as a side to dip. Remarkable. Following, I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp. This dish also has onions, a little jalapeno...and the shrimp have their tails and shell. You could remove both tails and shell's but that also removes the great flavors. I eat them whole...tails and shell's...it is quite yummy, plus I figured there is more calcium and other minerals beneficial to eat. The last dish ordered tonight was Szechwan MaPo Tofu. If you like tofu then this might be the ultimate tofu dish. It looks spicy...yes, it was spicy...but this was remarkable, so tasty. It was tough to finish all my dinner tonight, I most certainly ordered way more food then one person should eat...but I managed. I cleaned my plates...all of them. Tonight, dinner was a real treat. Tomorrow, I may have to come back and order this all over again...or maybe try some other culinary masterpiece.

Yelp
Amazing service they didn't mind me waiting inside the lobby while I waited for my food as I didn't have a car since I was staying at a hotel nearby and food came out hot fresh and even when I took a good 10 minute 15 minute walk home it still remains it to be hot I would go back again but I'm usually only here a few times out of the year for work

Nicholas G.

Yelp
I got 2 orders of fried rice and orange chicken. Orange chicken tasted bland and not like orange more like sugar. Rice had no egg in it, and look/tasted like brown food colored rice. I've had better tasting food at Panda Express at a 1/4th of the price and twice the portion sizing. Do your self a favor and skip this place, you're better off a Panda Express or Great Wall. And yikes.

Kelly C.

Yelp
Very good food and great service at an affordable price. Just moved to Kansas and this is our favorite go to for good Chinese food!

Yelp
This was close by on a trip thru Wichita. I should have listened to the most recent reviews. Food quality was not great. My husband had the sweet and sour pork chop which wasn't too bad but the chicken sha cha was terrible. Mushy, breaded texture with some Undefinable, grainy feeling. I included extra veggies to my dish, thankfully, so there was something to eat, but they were barely cooked. Egg roll was good, and won ton soup was too. Very few condiments provided. I would not recommend. It seems something has happened to them in the last year or so based on other reviews.

Diane E.

Yelp
We were camping and ordered Lees for delivery. What a great decision. Happy Family and house fried rice were great. Deliver was quick and courteous.
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
Cindy Lee was right- the vegetarian egg rolls were great! This was a perfect spot for a quiet Thursday night dinner with some hot green tea, veggie egg roll and the Buddha noodles. This was a short walk from my hotel near the airport and I was grateful to find it. Plus, my fortune was spot on.

Dan D.

Yelp
It's getting harder and harder to find a good old-school Chinese restaurant like this. Great food, good service. I'm already making excuses to come back to Wichita to eat here again. I loved it!
google avatar

Carrie L.

Yelp
I honestly try to only write reviews giving establishments praise. Too often all you ever read about is the bad stuff. In this case, I was so disappointed that I felt the need to share. It has been many years since we dined at Lee's Chinese Restaurant and were really looking forward to some old memories. I am sad to say that the food was so bad that this was probably our last. We ordered the Chicken Chow mein, an order of egg rolls, and an order of crab Rangoon. The chow mein was watery (no gravy type sauce), vegetables were under cooked and giving the benefit of generosity there was no more than about 2oz. of chicken. Of those 2oz. There was bone in the meat... The "crunch" of chicken bone in your mouth is just disgusting. The crab rangoon had potential because it didn't seem to be the run of the mill rangoon preparation. Again, unfortunately it was grease soaked. The egg rolls were the best of the three but that's not saying much. With as many choices that Wichita has to offer for Chinese food, I'm really not sure how Lee's has stayed in business all these years. They will have to do it without my business.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Lees Chinese is great. I've been here at least 6-7 times over the last couple few years. This place is definitely worth visiting while in Wichita. What to get: - The crab Rangoon is something they are somewhat known for and is excellent. If you only get one thing here get the crab Rangoon appetizer. Don't forget the small sauce try they bring you to eat it with. It's soooo much better with the hot mustard and ?duck? sauce that is on it. Sometimes they don't bring it so ASK it's a good flavor. - The Above and beyond: The two Chinese ladies that seem to be always there are either the owner or in the family somehow. They know a lot about how things taste and go together
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
I am at a loss as to why this place has five stars? Come on Wichita, have you lost your sense of taste? I ordered sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and crab rangoons. The fried rice is advertised as having, eggs, yellow onion, green onions, pea (only one, see photo) and carrots. As hard as I tried I couldn't find the pea, not to mention the onions or carrots, basically just fried rice. I did however find a very small piece of egg! The sweet and sour chicken was horrible. I've had better Chinese food at a supermarket deli. It was uneatable. Hoping for something to save me from a trip to the Wendys down the street I looked at the crab rangoon with excitement. Oh, how things got worse. This was just a waste fo $16.00, threw the whole mess away and off to Wendys I went.

Justin H.

Yelp
Absolutely the most unprofessional owners I've ever seen in Wichita. They messed our order up saying we ordered something that we did not. So instead of putting the customers who without us wouldn't have a business first they charged my card $36.00 for two combos, which is absolutely unreal. The owners are beyond rude. I don't make reviews and I never have but this was absolutely pitiful. I don't recommend supporting a business who treats the customers the way they do. And to top it off she made us pay for the extra combo and didn't even give it us.
google avatar

Tom I.

Yelp
Authentic legit Chinese joint right off the airport, located in rows of airport motels. The lady who took my order asked if I wanted buffet or from menu (I was sober enough to know buffet was no-go for me), and then she asked if I wanted authentic Chinese menu or Americanized menu. I ended up ordering my favorite Mapo Tofu in Sichuan style - to my surprise they could also make it in Cantonese or Japanese style!! Wow. Food was very spicy but flavorful. Portion was perfect for lunch. I honestly wanted to come back again for dinner if I didn't have other commitment. This place seems to be managed and run by typical first generation immigrant family - dedicated hard working folks. A place like this makes America great - tailored to meet locals demand yet also keeping authentic enough to meet travelers demand.

Yelp
Was craving Chinese and there's barely any authentic restaurants in ict after the Peking Palace shut down and the Dragon Express changed their ownership. Went to this place since it was in business for a while. Got their House Fried Rice with Fried Shrimp appetizer. My bill was almost $20. 5 frozen battered Fried Shrimp were over 7 bucks. Fried rice potion size was for little kid and it was bland tasting. For $20 bucks I could have got a better tasting rice may be from China Go or something. Nothing special here that blows your mind to pay this much for less food. It did have a slight fried taste so the rice may be frozen and recooked. Horrible!! I would just wait for a new joint to open up which has Authentic Chinese Food! Anybody has any other suggestions for good Chinese??????

Yelp
WHAT AN AMAZING GEM OF A PLACE!!! HOLY COW!!! You locals are SO LUCKY!!! We walked here from our hotel. From other Yelp reviews, we heard about the "secret menu of authentic Chinese dishes" so that is where we turned to first. I ordered a small wonton soup from the "regular" menu, and the 5-spiced duck. Hubster ordered the hot braised calamari and pork lo mein. I also ordered hot tea. The wonton soup smelled wonderful and the wontons are overstuffed and amazing! The broth is delicately flavored and we are going to have to get some of this amazing goodness to go. The tea is a beautiful and delicate oolong. I wonder if they will give me a bag or two for later.... My five-spice duck was incredible! I think I got the whole duck! Carefully sliced, easy to pick the bones out, not at all gamey...easily the best duck ever! Hubster's calamari was crunchy (in a good way) and easily the best calamari either of us have ever had! The lo mein was silky and flavorful. Good thing we are here for a few more nights! I can't wait to try more dishes! ************************************************ We are back! Turns out they make their own barbecue pork on site! I had Roast Pork with Rice noodles. Not on the menu, but they made it special for me. They are willing to customize dishes if you ask! We also ordered the pot stickers. You can have them steamed, fried, or, as is traditional, steamed then fried on the bottom. Hubster had the calamari again and roast pork but with wide noodles, not lo mein. We ordered some wonton soup and more pot stickers to go for breakfast.

Yelp
Tasty food. Both garlic chicken and Szechwan chicken was great. Good food portions. The lady at the counter was nice.
google avatar

Raven M.

Yelp
Always worth the ordering. It's good food and I love their noodles! My husband is obsessed with their chicken seasame. They give out generous portions and the prices are ok! Worth ordering.
google avatar

Brandon G.

Yelp
I was craving Chinese food during my lunch break so I decided to come into Lee's. I was seated quickly and was served fast as well. I ordered the chicken sesame along with the General Tso Chicken. Both entrees were tasty and flavorful; my Chinese food craving was satisfied!
google avatar

Nikki M.

Yelp
Delicious chinese food. Delivery was quick, food was tasty, better than most, and the price was right. Now I have found "my place" for Chinese food!
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Not good for delivery. The delivery time was okay, the delivery person was very friendly. 45 minutes for the delivery but the dood was terrible. I had just finished a 13 hour drive so anything should have been good. The General Tso's chicken was mushy and not flavorful. With their current rating people seem to like them bit you might stay away from delivery.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
I'm so happy to have found Lee's. It's not the best Chinese food I've had, but it's the best in Wichita. I always stick with the pot stickers and mapo tofu or szechuan fish. The portions are plentiful, and the service is friendly. Don't be scared if it's not busy, because you will leave satisfied! My coworker also approved of the hot and sour soup (and he claims to be an expert).

Alexanndra A.

Yelp
Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Went about 6 months and they charged me for Lo mein that I didn't order. Refused a refund then my husband and I decided to give it a try today and they gave us two soy sauce packets for three combos I went in to ask for more and the owner gave me one!!! I asked if I could pls have more she charged us $1.10 for 4!!!!! The owners are very rude and we will not be returning.

Yelp
In Wichita just staying the night after driving from Dallas. Craving fried rice, I found the closest Chinese place nearby. Wow! This place was beautiful on the inside, cloth napkins, fancy menu, and a lovely hostess. Even though I was wearing sweatpants and a t shirt she treated me so kindly and asked if I was from here or traveling. I asked if I could get three crab Rangoon instead of six and she said "anything is possible" with a smile. Let me tell you--this fried rice and crab Rangoon is amazing! So pleasantly surprised by a little google search of local places. Will definitely come back when we're in Wichita again!
google avatar

Hong K.

Yelp
One of Wichita's best hidden place for good homemade Chinese food! We try to eat here at least every 3 months or so and it's always been great- great service, great food and very flavorful hot mustard sauce for the adventurous people! Order off the small Chinese menu for authentic dishes!
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
Ordered two dishes with rice (one steamed and one "fried") for delivery. Items were delivered timely and still hot. The beef dish (garlic beef) was gelatinous, overly sweet and overly filled with cornstarch. Flavor was OK but beef was sparse and not of high quality. Very greasy. Steamed rice was just that. Fried rice was bland with no vegetables or meat, only one tiny piece of egg. The vegetable dish had a very odd flavor. Vegetables were just ok. Sauce had a strange funky flavor, also overly sweet and gelatinous with excessive cornstarch. For $30 (including $6 delivery fee) I would not eat here again.
google avatar

Yelp
The service is good, timely. Don't know his name as he wasn't our server but he was Chinese and had other tables laughing and enjoying themselves (younger guy). The Hot and Sour soup is very good. My wife is from Beijing area and thought it was the best part of the meal. Food isnt spicy enough even though we asked for more spice but I understand that. One person complains of too spicy and ruins it. Mongoliannbeef and kung pao shrimp was average but not bad.
