Not to be confused with the famous San Jose vietnamese cuisine version. This Lee's serves made to order sandwiches, dim sum & by the pound Chinese Buffett to the hungry downtown breakfast & lunch crowds. I personally like that their dim sum while a little pricey, has never tasted stale & that the Buffett goes on happy hour after 3ish pm making it a steal for late lunch or early dinner. Noted for good, fast and affordable Chinese food on market street. Humble but friendly Chinese ladies run this place so if you can, please tip kindly!

This is a place where you can get Chinese food sold by the pound. It’s a good place to get a quick lunch downtown. This location still exists. Many other Lee’s Deli locations are not open right now.

Noodle soup & assortment of hot options! I walked hear during lunch because my coworker comes here often. I ordered the noodle soup and some various side options. I really liked how the noodle soup was boiling hot! I love it super super hot but it did slightly over cook the noodle but that might be because I waited a while to eat it. The flavor was okay (have had better) but wasn't bad. The assortment definitely looked better than it tasted. I would come back again to satisfy my chinese food cravings but maybe not all the time. There is many many options so stop by to try something else!

Convenient location near my office. Decided to check it out after I overheard someone mention it. Standard Chinese hot bar buffet lunch! No frills, but I would say looks better than it tastes. It is very affordable though. I tried a couple items and recommend the eggplant, mapo tofu, and sweet and sour chicken. I would skip the fried rice as it was dry.

Lee's is permanently closed. The owner blames the usual complaints about the post-covid financial district. The mediocre food at high prices didn't help.

Use to love Lee's. I went in today and customer service was very poor & the ladies are very rude. They will take food for themselves before closing and act like it is for an order. When I reached to the fish the EMPLOYEE rushed to grab the spoon before I could. Food is already average. That was mad insane

In all honesty, this place is not too bad. It's cheap, it's quick. I discovered this place through the too good to go app. They gave me a decent amount of food, for only $5.99. The staff was nice and they prepared my food quickly.

Used to be the affordable alternative for lunch in FiDi. But not so much anymore. Understandably, prices have risen but you can get a better sandwich for around the same price and that doesn't skimp on ingredients. Hot food bar is just so so

This deli offers so much! In addition to sandwiches, soups, burgers and hot dogs--there is also a self-serve, pay-by-weight, hot food and salad bar for $8.68/LB The hot food bar contains Chinese food, chicken, beef & pork dishes, various veggie & tofu dishes, dim sum, stir-fried noodles & rice and various fried appetizers. The Salad Bar contains a wide variety of ingredients to make your own salad, including many types of greens, salad dressings, pre-mixed salads, premium salads, along with fresh sliced fruit, and sushi. Meat/sushi only is $9.38/lb. Dim Sum only is priced per piece. I liked the layout. Everything was presented well and looked fresh. The food was ok. As someone else wrote, "It did the job!" We've all had better Dim Sum but this was quick and easy. Lunch time was filled with Fi-Di workers and tables were scarce. This only lasted for about an hour. Their Chinese buffet offerings are extensive!

I found this place off Too Good To Go. For $5.99, it is a box of mixed hot food. The food is average what you would get in a Chinese restaurant or cafeteria, nothing fancy. The staff are polite and nice though.

MY to-go place for breakfast almost every morning to the point the staff recognizes me. Super fast and easy place, they have a wide selection of food. For breakfast, they have breakfast sandwiches that can be made and a buffet of Chinese food, salad bar, dim sum and breakfast items. Quality of food is not bad, I think it is pretty good for a to-go place. Prices are by weight, not pricey at all. My favorite is their chive dumpling and for lunch their green curry chicken is pretty good! If you are finding somewhere quick and easy, Lee's is your togo.

The health department needs to review this place again because I just paid $14 for the buffet food that tastes truly "off". The orzo salad def tasted like it went bad as did the cauliflower salad. The shrimp dim sum tasted very "fishy". The spicy tofu also tasted a bit "off" The other fried chicken chinese dishes were dry. I just checked the yelp health score of this place and it seems they were sited for some pretty gross things that were "supposedly" fixed last October but I wouldn't hold my breath. NEVER COMING BACK HERE.

Haven't been here for many years, this place use to make decent delicious sandwiches but I guess it was then not now anymore! Today, I was excited to come back to the financial district and decide to order Lee's sandwiches. I ordered a turkey sandwich (around $8) and vietnamese chicken sandwich $5.75 plus tax. Both are not good! The Turkey sandwich meat is taste old, I ate half and give half to my husband and he was complaining why gives him day old sandwich. Then I try the vietnamese chicken is little bit tastier than the turkey but the roll is soft, not crunchy at all even though is toasted. Overall is disappointed!

They say this is the land of plenty and this place sure has lots of it at a very reasonable price. I stopped by for breakfast one morning and was pleasantly surprised to see a breakfast bar with an abundance of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, tator tots. The other side of this food bar offers dim sum and they also have a salad bar. Breakfast is offered only during morning hours and you can mix and match all items from the food bar for $6.95 a pound. Around lunch time, they switch out breakfast and offer Chinese food, and other hot items as well as the salad bar with some pre-made salads. In addition to this, they have a full deli, customizable Asian soups (ramen or regular noodles, dumplings and fixings), standard soups, pastries, cakes, cookies, candy, and non-alcoholic drinks. The service is efficient and the place is clean, well lit, and has a nice set up. One of my new favorite spots to pick up an inexpensive meal. $7.55/lb for the hot foods/salad. Dim sum and sushi comes at a different price. What I like about this Lee's is that it has a lot of variety compared to the other Lee's in the area. Food is just OK, nothing to rave about. If you need something quick, I think this Lee's is the better one to go to.

Let me offer you a cheap-o tip! Don't even think about getting that bagel with cream cheese and lox at Noah's bagels, which will cost you 7-9 bucks. Keep walking up the street to Lee's, and get their bagel with lox cream cheese. Even though you don't get the big slabs of lox, the lox cream cheese that Lee's uses is plenty tasty. The BEST part is, it's ONE THIRD of the price you pay to get the bagel/cream cheese/lox at Noah's down the street!! I'm sold!!

I mean....it gets the job done. It's not a place where you drag your friends to per se, but for an A-OK lunch, you could go here. I would steer you with other options if I could. Everything sitting out is just lukewarm. Who knows what kinds of germs float in since the doors are open all the time. What I'm not okay with is the pricing. I paid 11 bucks for a measly couple of siu mai and a scoop of rice. No, thanks.

A spanking new Lee's! It seems I'm surrounded by Lee's! Anyway, I ordered the won ton noodle soup w/ a side of bok choy. This came in a big bowl for $5.45. Shrimp won ton isn't exactly what you find in chinese restaurants (it's actually just shrimp wrapped in won ton wrapper. Not the usual minced shrimp with chives). Noodles are surprisingly soft. Bok choy is fresh. No MSG because I'm not thirsty. This is cheap and filling. Everything in the hot buffet looks like it was doused in oil. Skip the buffet and order some won ton!

I'm not recommend this restaurant if you order by mealpal. They said I scan to get the food and after I scan they didn't agree to give my food although I show them the app said pick up

I have absolutely no complaints about my $4.50 combo banh mi with plenty of meat in a toasted baguette. Also, the place has every food you can possibly crave: ramen, Chinese, dim sum, burgers, fries, banh mis, the list goes on. I got French fries with my Banh mi and it was heaven!!! There's definitely not too many places that has both things on the menu :)

Rude rude rude! Skipped sour kraut on a Rueben sandwich and had the nerve to say I ate it already and trying to get more. Very poor English unless they are insulting you!

I just started a new job in SF last week and tried this place out this week. It was great! They have a large selection of hot Chinese food, Deli Sandwiches and a very nice salad bar. I had the Chinese pay-by weight buffet and it was great-they do not over-cook the broccoli, everything was hot.... After 2:30pm, the hot food buffet is 50% off. Great food for the price. I will definitely be back!

Food is everywhere. I've seen the ladies wipe the counters and windows above the food bar with the same towel they use near the cash register. Cleanliness definitely lacks, but what's worse is service. The ladies here speak very little English and when they do they're short and rude. I've asked them in the past to hold my food until I go pick up my prescription from Walgreens a short distance away. They refused!

I always love coming here in the morning. Lee's Deli is a deli/buffet. There are two buffet counters in the front and the deli is in the back. It's great because I can get a full breakfast for as little as $3 - eggs, bacon, taters, some dim sum? During lunch time, they have a nice variety of your staple Asian foods on one buffet table - chow mein, beef and broccoli, fried rice, orange chicken, etc. The other table has a variety of salads, sushi, and fruits. Most of their patrons are Financial District employees out to grab a quick bite. It's to-go friendly, quick in-and-out service, and reasonably priced at $6.95/lb.

With this new location, I now have more Lee's than Starbucks within a block and a half from my office. And going out four blocks further, still more Lee's than Starbucks. Decent, cheap breakfast and lunch. I stay away from buffets bc paying by weight never serves me well, regardless how inexpensive the place is, but they do have an amazing variety. Today I got a burger and an embarrassingly huge pile of fries for $6.45 - I've paid more for a pack of smokes. I paid more to get to work today. I've paid more for one cocktail. You get the idea. This location just recently opened, there's a few kinks in service that need to be worked out, but I'm sure they'll get there.

This review is for their sandwiches only! Definitely would NOT recommend anyone go to Lee's Deli for a sandwich. There are wayyyy better sandwich spots than Lee's Deli.. I can say SUBWAY is BETTER! -__- Came here once and ordered a sandwich, said I would never come back. Strolling and wandering around downtown looking for some place to feed the band playing in my tummy the day after new years, apparently a lot of places are closed and still on vacation, so I ended up settling at Lee's Deli. Ordered a sandwich, asked for a roll (because I don't like sliced bread sandwiches), asked them to toast the sandwich.. they can only toast the BREAD, btw... brought back to the office, stared at it, sandwich wasn't appetizing, but I ate it anyways. Most of it. Sandwich was really dry. They charge extra for selecting a sandwich roll, if you don't like sliced bread. And.. sandwich was DRY! I vow to never come back again. This time for sure!

under $7/lb for a huge variety of tasty asian (mainly chinese) food, including a good salad and soup bar. I enjoyed all of their food, and after having been to China, I thought some of the dishes were pretty close to their originals. When you compare this to the $10/lb at Julie's kitchen, it's really hard to justify going there over Lee's. The spicy thai noodles were really good, and were actually spicy. Honestly everything I had was good, I'm not going to go through and name it all. Lots of seating. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back here.

Large salad bar option w/ lots of fixings to choose from. Hot bar includes fair tasting Chinese food. Sandwich was meh. Ordered a corned beef and my coworker didn't like it much. Other coworker had the Tonkatsu Ramen w/ BBQ pork. Soup was oook for a Chinese joint trying to make ramen but he did advise not to get the BBQ as that turned the soup into an unappealing red liquid. Prices were ok. Salad bar items tend to be expensive since they're going by weight.

Saw they had a large selection of food, so me and my friend decided to stop here to eat. It's a self serve place and you pay for how much you decide to buy. They have easy to make sandwiches, dim sum, soups, and breakfast foods. The food is quite pricey considering it tastes just average, doesn't taste fresh and trays aren't changed too often. The selection and quality of food is similar to what you'd find in the ready to eat section of a grocery store. Not exactly the best place to put your money on for a meal, even for a break. Sorry, wont recommend, skip it. There are better places for food in the financial district.

I really wanted to like this place, but it just was not good at all. I even spit out first bites of various dim sum because the idea of chewing it further gave me too much disgust (and I am a true fat kid at heart who never does that). The only things that I was like "this is totally edible" were the Shanghai dumpling, which didn't have any soup in them as they should, and the sesame balls, which were the the reason I am giving this two stars instead of one. Note: I went at 11am when everything should have been in prime, fresh lunch time condition, so I feel I really did give this place a fair try.

I go here almost every day for lunch. the sandwiches are really good if you get the right ones. I prefer the turkey, salami, or roast beef. they roast the turkey on site. the people making the sandwiches speak very fast and can rush you (sometimes in a thick accent). but once I got the hang of ordering, i could anticipate the questions. eventually, one of the ladies knew what I liked and makes it without me asking! the sandwiches are huge too. way better than subway for a equivalent price. the salad bar is also quite extensive. though, if you like to pile it on, it can get pricey since they charge by weight. their selection of Chinese food is also extensive, but i find those choices to be fairly subpar as far as Chinese food goes in sf. overall, it is solid lunch food and it gets me in and out fast so i can get back to office to start billing again!

Place is going downhill even faster. The woman making sandwiches in the morning needs to retire as she always seems ticked off about something. Today she insisted she couldn't toast a croissant for a breakfast sandwich even though she's done so every time before without issue. By the time I got to work the sandwich was a sloppy wet mess. Management really needs to focus on customer service here. They would do much better business with better people working the place.

Bad. First, those who work here must hate their job because they never smile and treat their customers like garbage. Second, the food quality is horrible. I can't believe anyone would go back. The price to quality/quantity is horrible. Third, I've wasted too much time on this review. Stay away.

Food is good and relatively cheap for lunch! Did I also mention, quick? I usually just buy a chicken breast sandwich and it comes out to about $6 after tax . Only thing about this place is that the workers there are not customer friendly oriented...unless your Asian and speak their dialect (which I don't.) They seem more to be of "lets help the next customer in line to make lunch line go by faster" type. They lose two stars because of customer friendly experience.

Lee's Deli is such a quick, convenient and relatively tasty way of grabbing food to go. Located right next my office at work, Lee's Deli offers a wide range of different foods that might catch my fancy as I am trying to satisfy my stubbornly-growly stomach while running to catch the 6pm commute. My favorite dishes at Lee's Deli would be the tuna salad, the orzo rice salad, artichoke salad and the yellow curry chicken. I would skip out on most of the noodles that are cooked, since they are just so greasy (just look at the bottom of your cardboard takeout box!). But most of the cold stuff is decently healthy. The tuna salad is pretty good because it doesn't seem to taste that heavy of mayo. The one thing I would complain about Lee's Deli would be its pricing. One box of a reasonable amount of food is around $9 - which is a lot for food. But sometimes, the convenience and the instant gratification is worth the extra $2 in my mind.

Solid cheap fast sandwiches in the FiDi. I especially like the BLT with lots of crispy cheap bacon...and the sometimes dry but REAL roast turkey sandwiches. I have a friend...who whenever he is having a really bad day he goes there and gets a bologna sandwich on white bread and Funions. Always used to Crack me up.

Lee's reminds me ever so slightly of NYC delis, where you can get anything your little heart desires. They have a solid selection of sandwiches--I had a decent veggie burger and fries--and two $6.95/lb food bars, one with salads and one with Asian food. The merch looks well-presented and did not give me the "ick" factor I'm subject to at such establishments. [Cue trippy flashbacks to Midwestern Ponderosa Steakhouses.] I appreciate the great selection of Chinese food, and that they have brown rice and crisp, steamed veggies--soggy veggies are a horror! The food wasn't incredible, but for pre-made food at that price, I was pleasantly surprised. I felt bad using all of the take-out packaging, so inquired if I could bring my own container next time--and was told yes. There is also a good selection of drinks (iced teas, Pellegrino, Naked smoothies) and cookies and cakes. This place is 30 steps from my office, so I will be a repeat customer.

The food isn't bad but the workers here NEVER change their gloves when handling food. They will make a sandwich or replenish the buffet tables and never take their gloves off. It's as if they're afraid of getting their hands dirty. Next time you're at a Lee's Deli make sure the person who touched your food last follows food safe methods.

Open for Breakfast and Lunch, $6.95 a pound for a plate of whatever they have cooked up that day. I think I came here for the convenience cause it's around the corner from work. The food was nothing special, just ate out of hunger. However I did enjoy the custard tart that I ate with the rice and chicken plate. But as of now I think I'm done with places like this, back to eating healthy and clean, cause this place is a reminder of all the oil and grease used to create these various dishes.

Usually it's sort of a blah - I've had better but this is convenient - sort of buffet/ salad bar place, and that's fine. However, either the ranch was rancid this morning or they mixed it with the blue cheese dressing, making my salad inedible. When I went in to see what they could do about this, rather than help me, that staff argued with me that I was tasting it incorrectly somehow. The service is already pretty meh to begin with, but that was just ridiculous. She walked away from me midway through, and when I asked, she said I'd have to buy a new one. I walked out with my salad, which I cannot eat, and no refund or replacement or anything. I just gave it to the guy begging for food on the corner so that my ridiculously overpriced salad bar didn't go to waste. I'll just go to Mixed Greens from now on. At least, they give me what I ask for.

I usually avoid Lee's except for the random bagel/egg/cheese combo when I'm hungover. I figured I'd make an exception for this newly opened branch since the buffet looked intriguing. The variety is enormous. I ended up spending something like $10 which is really out of character for me. I had steamed bok choy, a mushroom/veggie combo, couple of shu mai (gross), some brown rice (yeah!) and tofu with chili sauce. My choices were on the healthy side, but you can certainly get caught up in the grease if you don't watch it. They also have all the usual lunch offerings - sandwiches, soup, burgers, burritos, etc. plus a salad bar. Oh - and they have a bunch of tables so you can eat your grub right on the spot. Check it out if you're in the area. It seemed much brighter and cleaner than the other Lee's around town.

I had a meeting that started at 8:00 am. and knew I wouldn't have a chance to eat again until dinner. I didn't want the usual breakfast bacon, eggs and a donut. After reviewing Yelp, I found Lee's Deli. It opened early and had a lot of menu options. I arrived at about 6:45a.m. They were open and had no problem providing me with a Pastrami on Rye. I added a bottle of water and for less than $7.00 had a sandwich that was plentiful enough to keep me satisfied until well after 2:00 p.m. In addition to serving sandwiches, they had a hot breakfast buffet that was priced by the pound. If you are in the area and need some excellent food, Lee's fits the bill. Thank you!

(+) - cheap - lot of options - chicken salad sandwich - salad (-) - dim sum I think its about 6 dollars for a pound of food which you can mix and match in your container. First time I came here, I got half salad and the other half a random mish mash of noodles and dim sum. My salad was good, they have a lot of options so you can probably make a salad to your liking. The noodles were average and the dim sum wasn't so great, the ha gao left a lot to be desired. Total came out to be around 6.50. Second time I dropped by I got a chicken salad sandwich. It's bigger than the one at dillers or maybe its just the ciabatta bread that makes it larger? They also put more pepper in their chicken salad which I am all for. Got some kettle jalapeno chips too yumm. Total was only 6.15 so cheap! Close to work, tasty, cheap, and quick. Def will be back!

Lee's is the go-to spot of many of us who work in the area surrounding this location. They have everything from dim sum, sushi, sandwich bar, chinese food and breakfast in the morning too. Just discovered they have cronuts! I personally wouldn't come here if I could bring food from home everyday. However, it's nice that I can get a little food without paying a whole lot. It's about $7.50/per lb and it's quick. You're in and out in minutes or less.

Buying half a small container of rice for ...$5.00! What a rip-off. Do not go to Lee's

The food here is ok. My review is for the buffett style where u pick what u want and pay by the weight. I would have to say the food is rather expensive compared to other food by weight places around fidi. 15 bucks for vegetables and some meat aint worth it to me. I def aint coming back for it anymore. Lee's deli has been my spot for years whenever Im working in the financial district. There are a lot of locations in downtown SF. Nothing special, just efficient & economical when you're looking for breakfast or lunch. I recommend the hot pastrami sandwich for lunch.

Since I get my daily morning coffee here, I feel a review is warranted. This location opened up a few months ago and has a decent selection of soups, good salad bar, and I hear their salt and pepper fish is pretty bomb. All I want in my Lee's experience is to not be grossed out like the rest of their locations. This place doesn't make me want to puke, so yay. Way to be clean, Lee's. Way to be clean.

Love this Lee's! It's much better than the tiny, grungy one on Front street. This one is CLEAN and the veggies are so fresh. I hope it stays this way. They lose a star, which could have made them four-star, for leaving out their dim sum and sushi too long. The same sushi and dim sum that I see in the morning was still there in the after noon. You really need to be careful with sushi. The tuna was all dried out and stiff, yet it was still sitting out! Also, there dim sum selection is quite limited. I wish they had more variety like har gao and shao mai, and chiu chao to name a few. But the salad bar and sandwiches are top notch!

I just paid $21.95 for the food. The food the a total rip off... I was being charges $8.99. When the total came up, I was like wow!!! I took it to go and had to ask for a bag. The food was blah. I ate only a 1/4 and gave the rest to a homeless person. What a waste of money. I don't know how they stay in business with such a price... What a rip off!!!

Stick 'em up. Love French toast. Amused by sticks of French toast. Not sure the staff was as amused I wanted just one. Took a bit of time to figure out what to charge. $0.50 seemed fair for something that had been sitting in a steam counter. Far from the best. Dry but still had that distinct egg and bread flavor. Minimal investment other than my time. Third star for being different and sticking out. Literally.
