The cut of beef they use for the cheese steaks is extremely cheap. The taste honestly is comparable to a “Ma & Pa”corner store cheesesteak . The sandwich itself was extremely oily ( the food is cooked in oil not lard ) so the taste of the cheap meat stands out from the rest of the sandwich. The best part of the steak was actually the fresh roll that was very soft. I am a West Philly , born & raised cheesesteak connoisseur and I have heard a lot about this place for a while but never got a chance to go. Very disappointed

Google
This is my 3rd visit here but 1st time posting. I ordered the Seitan Cheesesteak that came with broccoli, spinach and grilled onions. I added mayo and cheese to my sandwich. Onion rings were ordered because fries are so cliche. The seitan was cut into chunks. I was expecting a shredded texture because it was a "cheesesteak". It was similar to a sausage texture. Tasty. The onion rings were crunchy but lacked any minced onion. They were accompanied with a spicy ketchup (yummy).I literally kept eating them because I couldn't believe they were that bad. Excusing the onion rings from my final statement. Everything at Lee's is made with love and flavor.

Google
Good heavens! 🔥🚒🔥🧯Seitan cheesesteak - delicious! Fries were hot and crispy. So good. Korean BBQ tofu cheesesteak, very good!👏🏾👍🏾

This was my first time here so I ordered what I seen as a fav online and just like the reviews said this is so delicious!! I tried one of their veggie soups so yummo!!

Google
I will never get tired of eating the same thing every time I come: Korean BBQ Cheesesteak, fries, or Carrot Cake Man! It’s so delicious and the portion sizes are generous. Between two of us, I’d say sharing one sandwich + order of fries is already pretty filling. Whenever we do two sandwiches + share an order of fries it’s a bit too much for us to eat in one sitting! My favorite fries here are probably the Garlic Parmesan Cheese Fries (I ask for reduced cheese because I’m lactose sensitive). I love the customer service here, it’s a very friendly small business in West Philly!

Google
Super yummy! Turkey hoagie was great and I also got cheese fries and they gave me some gravy to try with them that really elevated the experience. Will deff be back to get it that way again. Thank you Scott!

Google
love this spot! great place with a lot of options, i especially love that they have an option for greens in breakfast sandwiches so i can make some healthier choices. service is always great, everything is made with TLC and the dining area is sparkling clean. they usually give us a free sample of some house made sauce or soup :) neighborhood staple

Google
placed an order for the Reuben sandwich with the dressing on the side and received not only the dressing on the sandwich but also the dressing on the side!! When I called to let the owner know, he claimed he didn't hear me say on the side however, how did I end up with a side of Russian dressing. It's the lack of accountability for me in this situation. Customer service is the pinnacle of any business! I do not feel I received good customer service at all. An apology for the miscommunication would have sufficed however, that did not happen here. Looks like I will have to find a new establishment to patronize!!!

Yelp
The owner was nice he gave me a soup for free good food good employees clean establishment matter of fact imma have my chicken cheesesteak probably tonight

Yelp
While visiting a dear friend living in Philly experiencing local food became priority. I learned that Lee's Deli carries baked goods created by local bakers. We purchased 6 items made by Taa'ib Pastries. These sweet treats are so delicious. My favorite is the French Apple Pie. So if you are craving homemade style baked goods in West Philly I recommend Lee's Deli.

Terrin M.

Yelp
Go to Lee's for a tasty, fairly priced cheesesteak or deli sandwich, friendly service and an unpretentious but cleanly, comfortable place to dine in. My steak came with a delicious sweet and spicy sauce, gravy, and coleslaw.

Yelp
Convenient location. Owner offered homemade vegetable soup to try while I waited for my order. Food is delicious and freshly made. Glad this deli is a quick walk from work.

Yelp
Food is always fresh. Everything is so good. I love the chicken sandwich spinach, broccoli, and shrimp with grilled chicken. It's so good. You must have your cheese steaks or to die for always fresh always on time never disappointment.

Yelp
bulgogi cheese steak + carrot cake muffin are great! Add pickles for sure!!! =========== Just got delivery from DoorDash and I'm very satisfied Bulgogi cheese steak I was worried this would be super sweet, but it actually wasn't. I added pickles to this and it was great with the meat. There's pieces of broccoli in this too so it's kinda not terrible for you. The cheese and the beef aren't overwhelming one another. Carrot cake Texture is a little dense more like a muffin, but this was not too sweet and cream cheese frosting had enough tang in it. Yum. As I was eating, some grease or sauce went all over my fingers. Def a messy meal. Tasty if you want a bit of a twist to your cheese steak.

Dan C.

Yelp
this place rocks. i can personally vouch for the seitan cheesesteak, the buffalo chicken, and the regular cheesesteak as delicious. the chili sauce they give you with the sandwiches is soo good. excellent customer service as well!

Yelp
I ordered from Lee's Deli because I know they have carrot cake made by the mythical "carrot cake man". The carrot cake man has been selling his carrot cakes on public transportation for many years. I didn't just order the carrot cake. I ordered a sampling of desserts along with an Italian hoagie. It is a deli after all. The Italian hoagie was a good hoagie, but nothing memorable. It will not be my go-to spot for an Italian. It seems none of the desserts are made in house, but they definitely know where to get them from The carrot cake was the same cake I remembered from years back. Very moist with the best cream cheese icing I've ever tasted. The red velvet and pound cake were also outstanding cakes. Right up there with the best Amish cakes. The sweet potato pie was just OK. I wouldn't get that again. I had 3 outstanding desserts, so no complaints there. But the deli part doesn't seem to be up to that very high bar.

Deborah Q.

Yelp
My cheesesteak was SOAKED with grease. I couldn't eat two bites. I asked for whiz and it was layered so thin that I couldn't taste it. I'm not happy with ordering something that couldn't be consumed. But the delivery guy was very nice

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Omg so disappointed they change the carrot cake cupcake recipe it is horrible don't buy it the dessert are a mess someone else is making it you can taste the difference right away must be a Chinese recipe because it sure is not the carrot cake man. People stop eating at that greases spoon place shrimp and rice they give you six shrimp an lots of rice for about 20 dollars you can go to Walmart and get a lot of shrimp and rice and cook it yourself. They used to be good but now they are greedy so they don't care how they prepare the food. People pay attention next time you order there the food has gone down hill all the way down

Yelp
Game Over Cheesesteak- This is the main reason I go to Lee's! I was introduced almost a decade ago now and that sandwich calls my name every now and then. Marinated chicken, grilled on the flat top and topped with Shrimp. I usually get it with Mayo and Fried Onions and spinach even tho you have your choice of spinach or broccoli. The Sweet and Sour/sweet chili type sauce that goes with it actually ties everything together perfectly. Great creative cheesesteak. 4.5/5 Rule Breaker Cheesesteak/Sandwich- The last time I got this sandwich with Salmon and Shrimp, it was a little underwhelming. Everything wasn't as fresh as I've had before but still pretty tasty. Nothing is really chopped and there's a lot of vegetables in the sandwich which makes for good flavors but certainly isn't a cheesesteak. Probably a 3.3/5 Lee's is a neighborhood spot but the Game Over cheesesteak is worth traveling for. (Ig: FoodieLifeMac . Check out my Lee's Deli YouTube review on Foodie Life Mac page. Yelp
I'm so happy that Lee's have reopened. Today we went to get 2 Corned Beef Specials. There are so awesome & they had everything that we asked to put on them. They every got the cheese right. Husband wanted provolone & I wanted swiss. Lee's is my favorite place to go, they make the best sandwishes & more in West & Southwest. They have rebuild the place so wonderfully. They are still as friendly as they have always been.

Yelp
The bomb cheesesteaks !! always consistent and delicious ... Haven't tried the hoagies yet but I hear they are delicious as well.
google avatar

Lizz S.

Yelp
One word. Delicious! I love this place. My favorite is the salmon cheese steak with onions, peppers, broccoli, and shrimp. And the special sauce that you pour on top. Isn't your mouth watering just thinking about it!

Yelp
This is a beautiful place in West Philly. That's really close to my house and I love to get their shrimp and grits platter for brunch.

Yelp
Yum Yum, I purchased the game over cheesesteak with a side of garlic parm fries and I was in lunch break heaven!! Wow that cheesesteak took my lunch to another level!!. So Lee's Deli is a small store, on the corner of Baltimore Ave and they sell hot/cold foods. Lee's Deli also have a small area to dine in as well. Lee's Deli been around for years and lately they have been known for their creative cheesesteaks. They have a Korean Bbq cheesesteak which has bulgolgi meat. They also have the rule breaker cheesesteak which has salmon and shrimp. They have vegan steaks and other food items as well. That day I decided to purchase the game over, it had shrimp, chicken, broccoli and spinach. It was packed with flavors. My sandwich came with a sweet and spicy sauce on the side which added a delicious kick to the entire meal. Overall the staff was very friendly, I was greeted with a nice hello and I also received a free carrot cake for using the ATM machine! I will definitely be back to try the Korean Bbq cheesesteak!!

Yelp
The workers are so nice, the food is great and so affordable. And they're FAST! I love this place

Yelp
Lee's has had a major setback. A van has completely destroyed front entrance and interior. https://gofund.me/d82eb12f

Yelp
I happened across Lee's Deli during my short trip to Philly to visit my friend who goes to UPenn. I'm from California, so I'm not really your typical cheesesteak eater. However, I fell in love with the cheesesteak at Lee's Deli. It makes me sad that I don't live here, because if I did then I would 100% be a regular here. I ordered the alfredo pasta with salmon and the original cheesesteak with mushrooms. I saw that there were some red sauces in my bag, so I asked one of the workers what it was. It looked like some kind of Asian sauce. The worker told me that it's a type of sweet and slightly spicy sauce that the customers love putting on everything, even the pasta and the cheesesteak. I thought, wow that is super interesting, because I never thought of adding anything Asian to these dishes. Well, I took the workers advice and let me be the first one to tell you -- PUT THAT SAUCE ON EVERYTHING. My taste buds were in heaven and I was so shocked that it went so well with the pasta and cheesesteak! The pasta itself was good (better with the sauce) but I wouldn't order it again. However, that cheesesteak is something that I'll be thinking about for a long time when I go back to California. Also! The owner is so kind. He gave me free banana bread and two bags of chips before I left. I was greatly appreciative for that! I will be telling anyone that I know who decides to visit Philly to give Lee's Deli a try.

B G.

Yelp
Thank god for Lee's! We love literally every hoagie we get here. Love the Korean bbq cheesesteak, but don't sleep on their chicken salad hoagie.
google avatar

Larry C.

Yelp
5-7 years since my last visit Lee's is still putting out good quality food!!! Minimal wait time good service. I devoured my food so I wasn't able To get a picture but make sure you stop here atleast once!!!! You won't regret it. Make sure you get the carrot cake muffin!!!!

Rashonda G.

Yelp
Someone recommended this deli to me. I had an amazing seafood cheesesteak for lunch. My go to when in the area.
google avatar

Judy C.

Yelp
My fave sandwich is still Korean BBQ Cheesesteak, but now my fave fries are Garlic Parmesan Cheese Fries (though I ask for less cheese because of my lactose sensitivity). Regarding portions: If two of us each order our own sandwich and share a small order of fries, it's already pretty filling. I have shared a large portion of fries between 2-3 people when we got our own sandwiches...probably too much food for 2, but better for 3. And since they introduced me to Carrot Cake Man, I always order it when I go and ask them to microwave it on the spot. If I ever change my order from these 3 things, maybe I'll update my review again, ha.
google avatar

Sadie F.

Yelp
Was picking up a rental car in Philadelphia before driving to Delaware and the man at the rental car place suggested we go here for authentic cheesesteaks. Ordered at the counter and food came out piping hot! I could tell it was made to order for us and not just sitting around. I got a tradition Philly cheesesteak and my friend got a grilled fish and shrimp hoagie. We are this meal a week ago and have talked about it almost every day since. While we are it there, there were tons of pick up orders- and it was just minutes before closing too! 4/5 stars because parking was super inconvenient but everything else was delightful and tasty
google avatar

Dee K.

Yelp
First and last time customer! Whole entire order was wrong for $58! Let me start by saying these menus posted are even accurate when it comes to prices! I ordered the game changer, the rule breaker, south Philly special, cheese fries and garlic parm fries. What I received once I got home: 2 game changers, cheese on garlic parm fries and regular. Seems to be my fault you'd think since I didn't check before leaving the store. And not to mention the south Philly special only had broccoli no seasoned veggies and this surprising type of meat which was strange because I didn't want any! When I tell you for this price, my family was highly disappointed! Nobody finished all of their food especially the cheese garlic parm fries. Highly disappointed in this establishment and won't travel here to get service again.

Mary W.

Yelp
I've patronize Lee's for years and quite disappointed to give a 2 star rating. Ordered 8 hoagies for end of school luncheon on 6/17/23. The sandwiches were very fresh but lacking the meat. There was exactly 1 layer of meat per roll. I'm not a fan of a ton of meat, but expected at least a couple of layers at 9.95 per hoagie. I even spoke with an employee with some instructions. I've ordered their hoagies multiple times and never had this experience. Not sure why this was the case, but beware when ordering via Door Dash. Pick up the order and inspect versus ordering online.

Ish J.

Yelp
The food is solid. I had the crabby patty w/ shrimp, fries, and Cole slaw. Wife had salmon Rule Breaker and Garlic Parm fries. She enjoyed it. I would definitely go back, but 47th and Baltimore is kinda busy. The shrimp were not deveined - so that was a turnoff. We took the food to Clark Park and ate it there. Oops ... No pics.
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
I had high expectations for Lee's. Lee's came highly recommended and has high recommendations on Google Maps and other sites. I got the Korean BBQ cheesesteak. It was good. This may have been all night off night for all of us. The college students are still on winter break so things were slow. Very tasty Korean BBQ cheesesteak and the veggies make it healthy. I was hoping to be wow'd. Good Cheesesteak experience.

Yelp
Hanging out in Philly and wanted to try Lee's Deli after following a foodies post. Stopped by and they were preparing to close. Allowed me to order the shrimp, fish and veggie hoagie. The owner is so nice and the restaurant is clean. The owner advised they usually close on time but the grill is still hot. Ordered onions ring with special sauce on the side. The food was so good along with the customer service. Food very fresh and the menu has so much variety. I'm glad they cater to vegetarians. They also have dessert. I was eyeing the carrot cake muffins with icing and the owner gave us 2 free. They were delicious and the icing was so good. I can't wait to enjoy another when back in Philly They also serve breakfast but are closed on Sunday. Everyone needs a day off to reset. Wide variety of beverages which I didn't buy. They were offering free can sodas and chips with certain items. I will definitely stop by when I visit Philly

Yelp
I. Love. Lee's deli! I stopped here originally while visiting my boyfriend in town about 4 years ago. Since then, we've gotten married and Lee's Deli is one of our favorites! I always always order the Rule Breaker with salmon and shrimp. It's such a filling, but not heavy, sandwich. Salmon, shrimp, broccoli, carrot, green pepper and cheese on a classic French hoagie bread - you can't go wrong! I order it with the fries and it always comes with a sweet/spicy sauce. It's a lot of food for the price too; I always split it between two meals. Yum! My husband usually orders the same, but this time he ordered a spicy buffalo chicken cheesesteak. He gives it 8/10 - not perfect - But still very good! He says it was missing something, but he isn't sure what LOL. I also got a piece of carrot cake for my husband. The place is cash only, but since we used their ATM, they gave us another piece of carrot cake for free! (He loved the cake!) They are always so nice when we visit and for that they went from 4 to 5 stars! We will continue to go back!
google avatar

Shaw K.

Yelp
The KBBQ cheesesteak is one of the best things I have tasted in a LONG time. We went in a little before closing but we still got great service. I wish I lived in the area so I could frequent this place because it's absolutely superb.
google avatar

Katrina L.

Yelp
My husband and I each ordered a cheesesteak (to try 2 each) and were not disappointed. The seating area is small, but we were sat at a booth, our order was taken and served our food quickly. I'm not yet an expert in Philly cheese steaks, but the original and the belly buster - with American cheese and all the fixings as recommended - were delicious. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Vonnie G.

Yelp
I had the shrimp and crab cake fried rice. They don't clean and devein their shrimp, so I picked them out. That turned me off. My boyfriend had the Buffalo wings platter with spinach and onion rings. That was good.
google avatar

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Cheap prices, hot food, great bread, big portions, friendly service. Their menu is extensive and seem to have something for every palate. Cash only. Support the little guys, it's a staple in this neighborhood.
google avatar

Brendon N.

Yelp
I got a suggestion to head to this corner store from one of my old coworkers, claiming it was an elite cheesesteak place, but not in the traditional sense, so I had to try it out. Given COVID restrictions, everything was done socially distanced, and I was not allowed into the store until my order was complete, which I was completely fine with. For the two of us (me and my friend) we tried the revered Rule Breaker and the KBBQ Cheesesteaks along with their garlic parm fries. I will not lie, the Rule Breaker did not exactly hit the spot, but the KBBQ hit it out of the park. If I had to go back, I'd try their regular cheesesteak along with the KBBQ one again. The fries, albeit slightly soggy, were flavorful and packed with seasonings. Definitely worth a trek if you're ever in the Baltimore Ave area.
google avatar

Tony H.

Yelp
I use to come here weekly back in the mid-90's through the mid-00's when I first lived in the area always getting the chicken cheesesteak. Came back a couple years ago and the now "OG" Chicken Cheesesteak is just as good. The owners are no-nonsense but the service is quick. As of March 2021, no indoor dining and it's better to call ahead, especially during prime times. A staple of the dining community.
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
Usually not a huge fan of Asian fusion, but the Korean BBQ cheesesteak and cheese fried rice SLAPPED. Would also highly recommend trying out the munchies and desserts (the wing dings and carrot cake were my personal favs). My girlfriend and I literally went twice in one day while we were visiting Philly, can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Taahir M.

Yelp
This spot was amazing. They were really clean and followed Covid-19 rules by not allowing more than three people in the store at once. The food was flavorful and fresh. You will definitely need to take a nap once you eat any one of these meals because the platters are stuffed with food. You will not regret buying some food from here. I loved the the rule breaker cheesesteak with salmon and broccoli. The garlic parm cheese fries are soo good. I'm looking forward to eating here again in the near future.
google avatar

Ryan K.

Yelp
Nothing beats Lee's Deli regardless of dine-in or take-out! Their Asian fusion cuisine straight up slaps and would look no where else for cheesesteaks. Their staff are professional and take cleanliness very seriously, which I very much appreciated. Fries, sandwiches, cheesesteaks, wing dings, dessert, you name it and they do it phenomenally! I've been more than a dozen times with family and friends and they've all loved it just as much!
google avatar

Daran Z.

Yelp
I saw a lot of good reviews about the Korean BBQ Cheesesteak and had to try it for myself. It tasted great, was affordable, and really filled me up. The fries were delicious, too. My girlfriend got the Veggie Steak, which surprisingly was so good! Great to see a deli offer vegetarian options that aren't just meat options without the meat. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area!
google avatar

Sandra A.

Yelp
On the western border of university city, Lee's Deli is a neighborhood institution. Their sandwiches and the house-made deserts are something to behold. When you stop by Lee's you'll enjoy generous portions and a very friendly staff who is more than happy to make recommendations. When the staff found out it was our first time there, they treated us to complementary carrot cake. They are very vegetarian friendly and feature two meatless cheesesteaks, both of which are delicious. I like the seitan cheesesteak a bit better than the black bean, but they're both quite good. The regular cheesesteak is amazing and tasted just as good the next day.
google avatar

Catfish B.

Yelp
Vegan cheesesteak AAA-grade. Seitan with onions peppers and sauce. Not sure how healthy it is to eat a gluten sandwich on a flour roll, but it sure was yummy. Got the fries also with black pepper only. As seldom as I eat fries, I gotta say, Lee's fries are worth the assault on my normal bland diet. They could have been hotter but they were not uniformly cold. 45 minutes later, no heartburn or discomfort of the gut. Lee's passed the test. Noonish, Covid-Monday in August.
google avatar

Kathy D.

Yelp
Today was my first time here and I know it won't be my last! As soon as I walked in I felt like I was treated like a old friend. The owners were so attentive and it gave me a small town feel in a big city, something I miss from home! I purchased an Italian hoagie and chicken noodle soup as my boyfriend was feeling a bit under the weather. I swear that soup fixed him right up. They give generous portions for their sandwiches and it was super delicious! It's currently take out only but the owner let me know that up to 30 items are available for delivery through door dash. At this time, they gave me a choice of desserts to make up for the ATM fee I had to pay (cash only!) that was as delicious as it was unexpected! (I picked the carrot cake and it was so good!) I would highly recommend this place to anyone. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Kristen C.

Yelp
I ate here two days in a row and Lee's served the best sandwiches I've had in quite some time! Each time I placed an order, I had trouble choosing, so they made recommendations based on my likes - and then, I left the rest of my order in their hands. They served me a sandwich with combos I would have never thought of and totally kicked my lunch-time up several notches. So good! Their parm fries have cheese sauce on them and are somehow deliciously gooey and magically crispy at the same time. PLUS! Their carrot cake is delicious. 12/10 will return.

Dr. P.

Yelp
My friend and I eat all over Philly to find "THE BEST CHEESESTEAK" . Out of the 20 or 30 we have tried this is "THE BEST". Do go here for the food, not the ambiance! Lol. Only one table in a crowded store. Good homemade desserts to go too!
google avatar

Karminna E.

Yelp
Come here on an empty stomach and you will definitely be leaving chicken full! Ordered take out and tried the rule-breaker: Chicken was great and went well with the jumbo shrimp. My bf ordered the chicken club sandwich which was also amazing for a great lunch.. spared half of it for leftovers. Garlic Parmesan fries are loaded with cheese but wish I tasted some more of the garlic. I've also tried their bulgogi cheesesteak on a separate occasion and it's definitely my favorite from their menu thus far.
google avatar

Johnny M.

Yelp
Ordered takeout during these quarantine times. My girlfriend and I ordered a pizza cheese steak and the wing platter (with two sides of potato salad and garlic parm fries). The cheese steak quality was amazing and fresh. The wing platter came with 2 more wings than advertised and really enjoyed the potato salad/fries as well. The owners are very nice and even added a free piece of cake because I used the ATM to take out cash. Great first visit and will be back!

Yelp
Had the Korean BBQ Cheesesteak and Thai Chili Wings while my wife had a Turkey hoagie and Buffalo wings. The food was phenomenal, and the Korean BBQ Cheesesteak is unlike other cheesesteaks I've had. Portion sizes are great too. Lee's Deli is a highlight for West Philly for some great food and great service!
