Where to Drink Guinness in Baltimore This Holiday Season | Eater

"Whether it’s a big game day or a random Tuesday, Lee’s attracts a crowd eager to dig into their oysters and great happy hour deals. The large wrap-around bar easily accommodates a crowd, while the outdoor mural and indoor vintage seafood posters add to its charm. Named after the owner’s father, a fisherman, Lee’s also serves seafood sandwiches — ideal for a holiday lunch with friends in Charm City." - Julekha Dash

Google
My mother was craving a good fish sandwich, so we set out to find one on a Sunday—only to discover our first choice was closed unexpectedly. We searched nearby and landed at this spot. While they did have a fish sandwich option (a blackened ahi version), it wasn’t quite what my mom had in mind, so she opted for the fish and chips instead. The fish was okay—crispy, but a bit heavy on the breading. I had the crab cake sandwich, which was a solid choice. True to Maryland style, it had lots of crab meat with minimal filler. It came with potatoes and broccoli, both cooked well. The only downside was the french fries broccoli and crab cake were a bit cool like lukewarm. The place wasn't busy so I'm not sure why that should have been the case. Drinks, on the other hand, were a highlight. I had a rum punch (can’t remember the name), but it was tasty and definitely strong—perfect for a fun night out. I'd come back again, especially for the drinks and chill late-night vibes.

Google
Can’t beat Happy hour 1/2 appetizers and 0.75 oysters. Crab Rangoon eggrolls had a good flavor and were delicious. First time here and will be returning.

Google
The server was amazing. Her suggestions from drinks to food were very good. The bar had more than enough TV's for any game. The space felt inviting and comfortable. They had 2 for 1 appetizers on Sunday. 2 for whiskey on Tuesday!

Google
Food was too appealing to wait, so here’s what was left. Top tier atmosphere. Relaxing and fun. Great specials and happy hour options. We will be back!

Google
I had to come back and write a review after my experience at Lee’s. Food was delicious, the place is awesome itself, but the service is why I’m leaving this review. My friends and I had Hailey as a server and I have to say she made the experience an 11/10! She was bubbly and fun and clearly has a ton of serving experience. The crab cakes she recommended were absolutely delicious & our drinks were all made perfectly!!! An overall great experience and definitely will be back and asking for Hailey again, as should everyone looking to dine here!!!!

Google
This place was great! They have an awesome second floor balcony that was packed. Check their specials. We came on a Thursday night which was their Surfside special. Lots of young people upstairs! The wait staff was great - personable and very attentive. Sidney was our server :) We had the Smash burger which was amazing!! The crab dip was mid- more mayo than crab and just ok. The fries were cold and rubbery- but probably more of a bar than a restaurant! We loved it regardless!

Google
Stopped in at Lee’s for the first time last week while in town for work and loved it! Came for the oysters but also had a couple appetizers for happy hour and everything was amazing. My bartender Mandy was very friendly and offered great recommendations for food and drink

Google
Had to drop off some equipment in Baltimore. Afterwards, the dude says, "Find us a good seafood restaurant, that's not a boil in bag." Google gave this place as a suggestion. And it was the best suggestion! We came to Lee's Pint & Shell for late afternoon lunch/dinner (linner/dinunch, if you will). The bartend was very welcoming and friendly. We decided to eat at the bar since the place wasn't full. They have a good selection of whiskey & bourbon, and great beers on tap. I had the Hazy Cannon. Our order was the Chorizo Oysters, Stone Crab Claws, Salmon Sandwich, and the Oyster Po Boy. The flavor was there! My only complaint (if you want to call it that) was that the Po Boy could've used a bit more seasoning. However, the sandwiches were good with a little hot sauce. The oysters were damn good, but best eaten hot. The stone crab claws were beautifully sweet and easy to crack. We ordered too much, but it was good food and beers. I do recommend Lee's Pint & Shell when visiting Baltimore. It's near the waterfront, but far enough to not be in all that traffic. You'll have to figure out Baltimore's parking (it's easier than it looks, you just need to be good at reversing into a space).

Yelp
The tuna tartare was super fresh, beautifully plated, and packed with flavor. The crispy wonton chips gave the perfect crunch and the drizzle on top tied everything together. Chef's kiss ! Vibes were great, service was solid, and the food? Definitely worth coming back for.

Yelp
Lee's on a nice, spring day is such a vibe. Came here for a quick lunch bite with friends, but it's also one of my favorite local spots to watch sports at. The decor inside is so cute and on theme. Service is always fast and the servers are very personable. I LOVE their nachos and get them almost every time I come, but I'm just a nacho lover in general. Definitely big enough to share with multiple people. Tried the Brussel sprouts for the first time and I really enjoyed the crispiness and the savory flavors. My friend got the buffalo chicken wrap and said there was a decent amount of chicken, but he really enjoyed the meal. The crab dip was creamy, but I wish there was a little more crab in it. Overall, always a good time here.

Yelp
Always a good time Good bar vibe Lobe the outdoor seating Crab dip is good Cheesy foods

Yelp
Back again at what now has become my regular spot for watching the O's game. This time, I gathered with friends to watch the game and it was a marvelous time. Our server, Jess, was phenomenal and helpful with our orders. The appetizers we ordered during happy hour were HUGE and DELICIOUS! Overall, the vibes were fun and positively memorable.
google avatar

Yelp
Lee's is definitely you friendly neighborhood bar with a couple unexpected surprises. Like the very extensive bourbon menu and the fresh shucked oysters. On top of this the regular drink and food menu are good and a step over basic bar food. Their weekly deals hit, brunch is delicious and the bartenders are always great and personable. They have multiple floors and the top has great views of the city. Also during the warmer months sitting outside with a pint or cute cocktail is a nice way to spend an afternoon If I lived closer this would be my neighborhood bar for sure.

Yelp
Great happy hour with a nice view!! Since the weather has been getting better, we sat outside on the top level of Lee's. It was a nice and sunny day with delicious half off apps and $.75 cent oysters !! I got the crab dip and oysters. Oysters were fresh and plump. Crab dip was good too and I liked the pretzel roll that came with the crab dip. Service was fast and friendly! Overall a wonderful experience!

Yelp
I came here on a late Sunday afternoon and sat out on the patio, which is dog friendly. They have a variety of food and drinks. They gave my dog a water bowl, which I thought was very considerate. They do charge a 4% service fee for sitting outside on the patio. The tables outside are a bit slanted due to the streets. The service was very good. Our server checked in on us if there was anything we needed and the food came out in reasonable time. I ordered one of their house favorites: the roasted brussels sprouts ($14) which had mascarpone cheese, pistachios, and balsamic vinegar in it. I thought that it did lack acidity and seasoning compared to the first time that I got it here. The Thai Salmon ($23) tasted good. I was very impressed with how crispy the skin was despite the sauce on top. I enjoyed the Lee's local oysters. I've been here for happy hour where they're $0.75. When it's not happy hour, they're $2.25, which is still pretty reasonably priced. The half and half crab soup ($10) was perfect. It had a generous amount of crab meat with vegetables. The Aperol Spritz here was only $10. I think the Prosecco that they used was a bit off, but it was still quite refreshing. The Cucumber Press cocktail ($9) was Way too sour. I didn't get much cucumber flavor. I think they just added too much sour mix.

Yelp
I came in today for Lee's oyster 75 cent happy hour on Friday 11am-6pm, and I just want to say it did not disappoint! The service was very quick and my sever was a sweetheart, I didn't get her name but she told be she just started working there! So shout out to her. The vibe in there was amazing, they played so many 2010's hits and the place is very clean. The oysters??? To die for they were so fresh and I got a couple really huge ones. 10/10 would definitely come here again and again lol.

Yelp
Cute spot for drinks after dinner or light bites. We had the grapefruit crush and it was so fresh and delicious! I'll be back for sure to try another crush flavor.

Yelp
Lee's is my favorite Happy Hour spot in Baltimore. The deals are too good for the $1, $2, $3 drinks on Thursday evenings. The food is actually surprisingly amazing for bar food! I love their quesadillas, fries, and mostly the corn dip with chips. The space is huge, the outdoor patio upstairs is perfect for a nice sunset drink. The service is efficient. Great for game days, snow days, Shuckin events. It's a staple in the community!
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped in at Lee's after Opening Day and it was a vibe and I had no complaints. Service was quick (once our server knew we were new customers since we had to sit at a table that wasn't cleared yet) despite how busy it was, and the bathrooms were clean! We got a bucket of Sun Cruisers and a pizza and fried pickles and both were really good! It's a divey place with many TVs so I would definitely come back during baseball and football season but I can see this place getting packed. It was a fun time though and a good hangout spot!

Yelp
Oysters happy hour sign me up My mentor and I enjoyed the good weather while ordering multiple oysters since It was 75 cents! Our waitress Haley was amazing and very attentive to our requests I had five local raw oysters that came from the Chesapeake. The flavor was good not too salty and briny and the oyster had enough meat as well. M We sat outside and It was a great way to enjoy the weather. I also ordered the roasted chorizo oysters and this was good and It was half off since we came during happy hour. I also enjoyed my manhattan but I asked them to add maple syrup and that was the sweetness that I needed. I will definitely come back again!

Yelp
I got food poisoning from their fish tacos and had to go to urgent care. I do not recommend.

Yelp
Recently had a great time hanging out with friends post-bocce playoffs at Lee's. This place has a nice vibe and decor, plus the bathroom was pretty clean. It wasn't packed on the Wednesday I went, so service was swift, plus the bartender seemed super cool. I ordered steamed shrimp and fries, + a beer. The steamed shrimp were excellent and the fries were good when they were hot/warm, but as soon as they cooled off, inedible, it was weird. But hey, minor compared to all the pluses here. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Awesome lunch spot and great bloody Mary's. Ask for Katie or Emily. Awesome service and great drinks and fun staff

Yelp
I finally found my new favorite happy hour spot. They always have a great deal going on! 75 CENT oysters during happy hour from 4-6. The best way to learn what great deals they're having for the day are to follow their social media. They make great and fun posts keeping you updated! The 1/2 off appetizers are more than enough to share with at-least two other people. There's an upstairs, downstairs and outdoor seating so although it can get busy there's more than enough space. Get here once you're done reading this review and enjoy! If you're thinking about it you're right.

Yelp
This was my second time here for a Friday HH and again it did not disappoint. We love supporting local businesses and by far is the most community focused established I've been to in a while. We loved the oysters, they were fresh and delicious. We also had the poke tuna bowl and that was amazing. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a photo of it . I wasn't too crazy about the Brussel sprouts, they were ok. I wouldn't order them again. I can't describe why I didn't like them, maybe the flavor? But everything else was great. Our server was very nice and fast. We sat inside this time because of the heat, inside was nice and cool. They had plenty of tvs for baseball and the news. l will definitely be hitting this spot up again on a Friday for oysters.

Palmer J.

Yelp
This place was supposed to be open until 10:00. I got there at 9:00 and there were several patrons in the place, but I was told that they were closing early. Several different stories from workers, but the consensus was they wanted to close early because they wanted to go out. The manager said they don't have set hours. They just close when they aren't feeling it. I subsequently was told by locals at another establishment that the food at Lee's is suspect and hours are inconsistent. I can verify the inconsistent hours. Don't go. Go to Claddagh Pub instead.

Yelp
Great place. Loved the oysters. Fantastic happy hour prices. Good and friendly service, will return. All ages.

Yelp
We were super excited to come here since we live within walking distance. My sister, husband and I came here for dinner one night when my sister was in town. My sister and husband loves oysters. They have 50 cents oyster for Happy Hour, and my sister/husband got a bunch. They said they were good. We also got the Chesapeake roasted oysters, the burger with a crabcake, fish and chips, the crab soup, and the French dip grilled cheese. The food took a long time to get to us and honestly, it was not worth the wait. The Chesapeake roasted oysters were not worth the wait or price. They were INCREDIBLY dry and inedible. Even with us trying to dig out the oysters, we couldn't really get it out. It was not good. The burger was okay, but it had so much sauce in it, it just overwhelmed any other flavor. The fries that came with the burger were eh. There were a lot of the small end/crispy parts, not my thing. My husband said the fish and chips were average. The grilled cheese was the star. We actually noticed another table had gotten it, and it smelled so good, we added it on. It was the only item we truly enjoyed. Our waiter was super nice. But the overall vibe of the place was a little weird and not as welcoming as we were hoping. We might come back if we had a hankering for some sort of French dip/stuffed grilled cheese, but other then that it was underwhelming.

Yelp
It's nothing to rave about but a fun spot to hang with friends. Food was nothing to rave about.

Yelp
Had an excellent brunch today! The menu had something for everyone. Who doesn't like breakfast tots? The MD crab soup was outstanding on a cold Sunday with chunks of vegetables and crab meat. The SOS was classic as were the biscuits with sausage gravy. Yummmm! Bonus, the manager and owner both stopped by our table to make sure everything was perfect. Will be back

Yelp
Recently visited for happy hr and had all the things. Lol! On this visit I had: -.50 cent local oysters. (Meaty and mild) -lamb meatballs (super delicious. With the tzaziki sauce and the orzo, there was a party in my mouth) -Buffalo calamari (eat these while they're piping hot! The crunch, Buffalo and blue cheese is the perfect bite. -Garlic butter white wine mussels( deliciously good. The crusty bread is perfect for sopping up that good sauce.always a treat. They are on special on mondays. Just 5.00 bucks. To drink, I had the Stateside spritz and the just peachy. Hmmm. They both were on there whiskey of the week drink menu. Anthony, our waiter was great with our growing table. Of course I'd dine again.

Yelp
I wrote a previous review for Lee's Pint & Shell which I still stand by regarding the dinner menu options BUT I would only recommend this place for the Happy Hour only. The drink deals are amazing and you can't beat $0.75 oysters. For two orders of 24 oysters plus the 1/2 bottle of wine (Wednesday deal) the bill was less than $50. For any oyster lover in the area, this is definitely a great deal.
google avatar

Paula R.

Yelp
I've been here countless of times with friends for their happy hour deals. Let me tell you sis, DO NOT SLEEP ON THE CLAMS. The clams are so good with the bread it comes with. 10/10 would recommend to ANYONE. Their ahi tuna burger was really good and the portions are huge! Fish tacos were loaded and decent. I wasn't a big fan of the salmon wrap. Tasted a little fishy to me! Get their cafeteria crush!!! It's literally juice!!!
google avatar

Kenneth L.

Yelp
A call-out to their happy hour pricing, at 50cent per oyater, this makes my crew come as often as possible for these things. The other dishes are solid and really nothing to really complain about lee's except the wait may be a bit long due to how busy they get!
google avatar

Yuri C.

Yelp
Who would have known that there would be a place in Baltimore that provides 50 cent oysters during happy hour? I came here on a whim with a friend visiting from out of town. We both absolutely loved the HH oysters. They were juicy, fresh, and plumped. I'll be back here again to fulfill my oyster craving.
google avatar

Gigi M.

Yelp
This is the best bar and restaurant in Canton! I reslly love the fish tacos, they are so very delicious! I love the ambiance and the friendly staff. The new balcony in the second floor is fantastic! This place has real food, not just bar food but real good stuff to eat. It is not expensive. I love it!!!!!
google avatar

Kerri M.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this restaurant when we first moved. A no nonsense local bar, but the service AND the food quality quickly went downhill (cold fries, soggy chicken tenders etc). The drinks are hit or miss depending on who is behind the bar. The events they have are quite fun though.
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
Oysters, Old Bay Honey wings, Street Corn, and Bisque, Oh My!!!! I love Lee's. This is without a doubt one of the best places in BMore to come for oysters and dive food. The oysters are always amazing here. Fresh, briny, delicious. OK. I have had my share of Old Bay wings...but we were introduced this time to...HONEY OLD BAY WINGS. Its like owning a Ferrari, then gold plating it. It is a mad idea, but a damn delicious one. Down in Texas we do a Mexican version of the street corn called elote. The corn at Lee's should be called the holé chit dats good. The bisque. Creamy, coat the back of a spoon good. Great chunks of crab in it as well. It might be a little off the beaten path in BMore. But you should definitely make every effort to stop here and eat a few dozen oysters. And drink some beer. Rock solid 5 stars.
google avatar

Myles H.

Yelp
The service here has been abysmal the last 2 times we visited. Today, we watched the gentlemen seated across from us, who sat down shortly before we did, finishing their food, while ours had yet to be served, despite being there for at least half an hour. One star because I can't leave 0.
google avatar

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Time for an update! (Not that anything has changed). Lee's is still awesome. Tonight fiancé and I stopped by not knowing the Women's World Cup was on. The bar was filled with fans so it made for a lively atmosphere. And, we got a free bomb when USA scored! Even better, we stumbled upon a free-oyster give away. I can't remember the exact interval but every so often they do a customer appreciation free oyster day. They definitely care of their customers! The man shucking the oysters was very personable and conversational (even though I'm sure it's easy to get annoyed shucking as many oysters for as many people as he is). $2 off signature cocktails during happy hour and the three drinks I tried were all yummy. We ordered buffalo calamari, fried pickles, and happy hour portion duck nachos. Duck nachos are a big portion for $5. I wish the buffalo calamari had been a little crispier but besides that good flavor. Service was a hair on the slow side but based on the crowd, totally understandable and we had plenty of drinks and oysters to help time pass. Our waitress was really nice and had great suggestions. Another great night at Lee's!
google avatar

Princess Marie W.

Yelp
We stopped here for brunch around 1 PM. We were able to do the happy hour oysters. Our server, Anthony S was not friendly. He didn't check on our table and took away food that we were not done with the ambience is certainly neighborhood bar it was nice. The tuna tacos Oh my gosh, so good I had a margarita that was also pretty good. minus two stars for subpar service
google avatar

Tola O.

Yelp
Cute neighborhood spot. Pre covid, they had amazing specials including a Sunday lobster special for 15 bucks! Their oysters for 50 cents per are great too. Friendly Irish pub! Outdoor seating is heated during spring and fall. Check them out for brunch too!
google avatar

Fii M.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in Canton, but not directly on the square which makes parking easier. There is street parking located all over, so parking isn't too bad. Lee's has great daily happy hour specials, including 50 cent oysters which are my favorites! I would suggest coming in right when happy hour begins so you can get a good spot. One positive is that the staff turn over tables fairly quickly so you dont have to wait too long to be seated. I highly suggest you order the crab dip, it is one of the best ones I have tried lately. I find the food here is pretty good and more variety that typical sports bars. You might have to wave the waiter/bartender down a couple times since it does get pretty busy during happy hour.
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
Great for the happy hour and it's oysters! Will definitely come back for those and the ambience with the windows that open floor to ceiling to enjoy the summer and good weather!
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Came for the fish tacos which did not disappoint. We also got the fish and chips which was a bit underwhelming and under seasoned. Fries were good and leaned more towards the potato side of the French fry spectrum. We wanted to get oysters and had just missed happy hour which I think are 75¢ oysters. They also had just ran out of the daily oyster we wanted to try so we've yet to have tried those. They had some other interesting items of the menu I'd be intrigued to try like crabby grilled cheese, the po boy and crab dip. Overall good experience but I'd say average food. Lively environment. Great staff.

Tori S.

Yelp
beware! the people preparing food dont use hair nets. the last two times I've been here, I found hair in my food. the last time it was in my salad . I also told my server, she didn't say anything so I sent a message to the restaurant and then didnt respond. But, if you like hairy food then this is your place!
google avatar

Rachel E.

Yelp
Delicious Oysters!!! I've been here twice now, I like to come here for their oysters. Oysters are large sized and fresh. Street parking can be challenging tho....

Lisa L.

Yelp
Love this place because of the outdoor seating and great service We had very nice afternoon lunch with lots of fresh oysters

Yelp
What a great experience on Sunday night. Went out to dinner with a small group of 6 - Lee's doesn't take reservations but was able to accommodate our group immediately with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. There were heat lamps between every outdoor table and our waitress was busy but still attentive. Sadly, they advised us their outdoor dining area closes early (9pm) on a Sundays, but this was still plenty of time to enjoy our meal. We all ordered fun drinks off their cocktail menu, including the pepperoncini martini, the key lime pie martini, and the orange dream crush - but the entire table agreed that the blueberry crush was by far everyone's favorite! Strong but fruity and topped with soaked blueberries, yum! We started with the Chesapeake Roasted Oysters - covered with old bay and crab, and the crab dip, both of which were demolished in seconds by the group. Everyone was satisfied with their entrees as well, from the blackened ahi tuna sandwich to the shrimp and crab quesadilla to the kale salad. The food was a hit. We all left with full bellies and plans for coming back together soon! Our waitress was also great - splitting the bill for each of us individually and checking in on us periodically when necessary. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking fir fresh and delicious seafood in the Canton area.

Yelp
We had a great experience here at Lee's after a night of axe throwing. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. She was also wearing a Yankees hat (a plus for me as a fellow Yankees fan). Haha The seafood was good. I mainly indulged on Shrimp and Oysters. My two faves! The shrimp was good and perfectly Old Bay seasoned. The oysters I was less than thrilled with. This particular batch was super chewy and didn't go down easy. Nonetheless, a sweet server also made time to step out earlier that evening to take some photos of myself and my girlfriends! Good experience. I love the decor.

Yelp
Stopped by for a drink during a cycling break. Nice place with plenty of outdoor seating. We were helped immediately. Draft list was short with no locals so that was disappointing. Had a Narragansett Pilsner. Refreshing. My wife had a Cucumber Press. Talk about refreshing. She is already looking up how to make herself. 2nd Visit: Again on a bike ride. Rode up to Clifton Park Mansion & then back to Patterson Park. Tried to find a new stopping point but it was closed. So back to Lee's. Glad we did too. We were not going to eat. But had roasted Brussels. Nice. They had expanded outdoor seating plus open windows to the inside.

Yelp
If you are looking for a great place for happy hour Lee's has some amazing deals! They have .75 cent oysters and $5 pulled duck nachos which are amazing! The drinks are also delicious.

Yelp
First time visiting and will def be back. The load potato fries were a great cross between loaded baked potato and truffle fries. So tasty, but the creamsicle crush was awesome.

Yelp
Came here for a quick meet up on a Friday night. Beware of parking. Street parking in Canton neighborhood, but i was lucky to find parking right out front ;) There's 2 floors, we sat downstairs. Seat yourself. Country music played. There was some kind of skirmish with a bouncer and a customer when we were leaving.

Yelp
I've been to Lee's a handful of times now and have really come to enjoy it. If I lived just a little closer this would be my neighborhood bar. I will say my best service is when I sit at the bar. The bartenders are great and personable. Drink wise, they have a really extensive whiskey/bourbon menu which is nice. But they also do a really good dirty martini, so I'm covered all the way around. Food wise, mussel Monday is by far my favorite night. The mussels are great and flavorful. I also really enjoy the fries and all the varieties you can get them in. I've had good burgers here as well. For bar food and atmosphere it really hits the mark.

Eric R.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and been here many times. Nice bar and restaurant good drinks but there has always been a issue with food or service. This time we order a gluten free sandwich and a burger. About 20-30 mins after putting the order they let us know that they don't have any gluten free buns and they ran out. I was looking forward to the new menu but unfortunately I did not. This was the reason I went here. My advice, step up the quality and execution in the kitchen and you'll improve big time.

Ashley W.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this spot to hang out and eat. Food was great and our waitress was super friendly and attentive.
