I can't say I'd ever heard of a rice roll before visiting Lee's Stonemill Rice Roll, but I'm always down to try a new kind of cuisine, so I jumped at the chance to give the place a try.
The eatery is located within a small food court attached to an Asian supermarket, so it was a breeze finding a table.
We decided to try a couple of their rice rolls, the House Minced Pork & Egg and the Beef Brisket. We also got an order of the Scallion Pancakes for the side.
After a fairly short wait, the food was ready. And it's really good. The rice rolls alone are probably nothing to get too excited about, but when combined with the delicious flavors and sauces in the two separate dishes, the whole thing becomes a seriously delectable concoction. (It doesn't hurt, either, that there an impressively spicy chili oil that can be drizzled over the whole thing.)
The pancakes didn't blow my mind, but again, when eaten in conjunction with those sauces they become really tasty.
I can't imagine rice rolls being served any better than they are at Lee's Stonemill Rice Roll. It's a winner.
