My family and I recently visited, after years of not going. (I don’t remember why it took us so long to go back) We started with fried pickles (best I’ve ever had) and the disco fries (the brown gravy is crazy good!!) We ordered the smashed burgers. They were great and perfectly cooked. We each got a different side, salad, fries, tots and onion rings as sides. Everything was seasoned well, cooked perfectly. What was equally impressive was their customer service. Going out with kids can be challenging but the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. The kids were so impressed that they asked to speak to the manager (lol) to compliment them directly. One of the owners came over and entertained my kids and made them feel so good to compliment the restaurant. Many of our dining decisions are based on our kids. Making them feel comfortable is important. Thank you for your attention that evening. We definitely have added LB to our rotation! Thank you for your great food and phenomenal staff!

Located walking distance from my daughter's new apartment. It's in a cute area of Jersey City. Staff was very friendly. The food was delicious. They had just enough beer choices to keep me intrigued. I'll definitely stop in whenever I visit my daughter!

Great burgers! It was so good I ended up going 2 days. I got the bankrupt, and The Philly the second time, both did not disappoint. Day 1 was a Saturday, and it was a little busy but well worth the wait, i Also hung around for some drinks on day 2, the atmosphere was awesome and very kind employees.

Google
Second time going and definitely going back. It was awesome! I would eat that every day 2x on Sunday.

Google
I used to go here often because of their unique burger combinations and that they were well made and stacked. Went there recently (after 5y) and ordered my favorite, the Meltdown and onion rings. The burger was over cooked, the bread wasn't grilled as it used to be, and the onion rings were mostly batter. I hope it was a one-off bad experience because it used to be my favorite JC burger joint.

Google
First time eating here. I have to say it was great! The food, atmosphere and service was on point. The place was small but cozy and full for a Thursday night. Everything was fresh tasting and a good portion. They had a great dinner special for $35.00 bucks for 2. You got 1 appetizer to share, 2 specialty burgers with 2 sides for each and 1 dessert to share as well. A pretty good deal for the evening. Drinks not included but if you split the bill it was a good night. I would return here. Thanks Melanie S for the great service.

Google
Left bank is absolutely my favorite place to get a burger but also has a great vibe, with a bar and a cool night life scene. They can also hoast parties! Highly recommend this place for anyone? That likes a cool vibe with great food and good service!

Google
Tried to use Uber Eats to place an order. Once the order was placed, Uber Eats extended the delivery time to 90 minutes. I went to cancel immediately and was charged $35. The restaurant had already started preparing my order. I never received a confirmation email. What a fraud. Be warned.

Yelp
Went here on a Thursday around 1:30 and it was completely empty. The hostess/waitress said we could sit wherever we like. The interior was decorated for Christmas. We ordered shots and a beer which came out quickly. We both order black bean burgers. I got the Mac Daddy without bacon and the mac and cheese had little to no flavor. My date got the Ring the Alarm Veggie Burger, and said it was good. I got fries with mine and my date got onion rings. The fries and onion rings were delicious. Overall, the food was decent but I don't think the burgers were worth $20 each. I honestly don't think I'd come back here just based on the price and quality of food. Despite the waitress being kind and the service being good, I'd rather go elsewhere for a black bean burger.

Yelp
The burgers were so juicy and amazing at this location alongside with the Philly cheesecake .. DE LI CILOUS

Yelp
Visited this restaurant several years ago and tried the Mac and cheese burger with fries. It wasn't bad from what I remember and it was part of a weekly special they had. Service was fine and the restaurant itself is nice, a bit dark but I guess that's meant to set a certain mood. Parking is limited so that could be annoying but if I'm ever in the area and craving a burger, I'd probably go back! Side note: I found the pic from 2018 so I'm not sure if they still offer this

Joe C.

Yelp
Don't trust their posted hours. Just tried to go there more than an hour before they were supposed to close and was informed "they were closing a little early tonight."

Yelp
Best burger I've had since the 60s. Tasty, juicy everything was fresh. Thank you Left Bank Burger Bar for making real burgers.
google avatar

Katelyn N.

Yelp
Pretty good place! Burgers were good, they had a gluten free bun option which was great!!!! Skip the regular fries, they're cardboard. Other wise good meal that satisfied the burger craving.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Great burger, presented and cooked perfectly. Friendly service! Nice little place inside.
google avatar

Melissa D.

Yelp
Delicious Mexican food. Really great service and great ambiance. Well made drinks and they play good music. They also make fresh tortillas by hand while you eat. Would definitely recommend bringing your family or a date
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick weekday lunch. The restaurant was pretty slow so we received the VIP treatment. The service was friendly and extra attentive. I ordered the chicken club and added a side salad. Note that sides are an additional $4! Side options are salads, fries, etc. Overall the food was tasty. I liked the Irish red ale that was on tap as well ($7). The dining experience was simple and easy. I would revisit Left Bank for another beer or meal

Gabi D.

Yelp
I love their patty melt here. The service is hit or miss even when it's not busy. Keep in mind they will charge you for any little thing including an extra side of ranch for the appetizers. Despite the iffy service and prices the food is really good.
google avatar

Chre G.

Yelp
Bottom line is the burgers are delicious. I had the Mon Cheri with sweet potato fries and my husband had the ghostface killa with onion rings. Both were so good and the service was exceptional. I would definitely come back and try the other burgers, even the chicken sandwiches. The place is on the smaller side, but they were quick with seating us on a busy night.
google avatar

Semina B.

Yelp
A really good burger bar if that is the mood. The challah bread burger (the Meltdown) was different, but flavorful. Sweet potato fries was the cherry on top. The nachos were just ok- could have did without them. The place itself is not huge- so you may run into wait time depending on the time you go. Service was pleasant, and music was lit.
google avatar

Evan C.

Yelp
I've been to left bank twice, both times I've really enjoyed their burgers. I've had one special and one build your own. The special was a champion which was a French dip burger. It was so juicy and flavorful. Some of the menu items sound a bit much and definitely can't eat them all the time, but they sure are a nice treat!
google avatar

Andrea P.

Yelp
Seriously my absolute favorite. The waiters are EXTREMELY observant and the food is awesome. It's my favorite day of the month when cheat day comes lol. The burgers are cooked wonderfully, I always order medium-rare and I am pretty annoying about that, but this place does it right every time.
google avatar

Donna V.

Yelp
First time here.. Unfortunately I did not order a burger but I did take a few bites of my husband's and it was amazing. Extremely juicy and flavorful. J did order the chicken Caesar salad which was delicious. Lots of chicken!! Nachos and Disco fries were very good also. Next time will definitely get a burger.
google avatar

Michael N.

Yelp
We ordered take out from Left Bank and man there burgers were really good. I had a classic cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Perfect. And I got onion rings, which I'm glad Sherry does not like because I'm happy not to share! Sherry had the Mac Burger and she loved it as well. We got it delivered and it was nice and hot when dropped off. Next time we will eat there. Try it! So darn good!!

Yelp
This burger bar left me wanting more! Looking for a solid burger spot I somehow found this place in crunch time with a minute to go in the game. AND, I was amazed by what this place offers. The super kind staff and helpful server I couldn't have asked for any more to top off the nice menu items. I like to order more than I can eat to really judge a place and not one item I ordered was bad. Solid wings, solid fries, solid pickle chips, solid lava cake, and super solid burger! BTW, I am a pickle chip fanatic and I reallyyyyy liked the way this spot made theirs. With a side or dill sauce it was a nice compliment to the Mac & Cheese burger. This picture perfect burger was flavorful in every way. Every item that made this up was a flavor burst in each bite. I am also a wing fanatic and these wings were moneyyyy! So when a place can make a great pickle chip, wing, fries and burger then you know dessert should be the finale... and what better than chocolatey, melty, gooey, warm lava cake with a cold scoop of ice cream! Come check this place out, you won't be disappointed =]
google avatar

Kyla B.

Yelp
It was a very solid burger spot. It really reminded me of something from a bar, but not in a bad way. It was pretty cheap too for the burgers and would be a great happy hour spot! Service was fast and my boyfriend and I were out in about an hour. Which wasn't a bad thing considering it was like 8pm when we got there. The main room is more set up like a bar and had lots of tvs. I could see this being a good sports bars when football season starts or even baseball. Overall would come back if I needed a quick burger fix!

Yelp
My husband and I were here last Saturday the night before the Jersey City half marathon. He had particular dietary requests and left. Banke burger was a good compromise between what both of us are craving. I love that you can customize burger and their veggie burger was really good and seem to be freshly made. I ordered mine with avocado, cheese and garlic aïoli. It was really tasty and I was starving so I eat at all. I also ordered a side kale and Caesar salad for four dollars. That was also delicious and I scarfed it down, but had some help from my husband. Also had a glass of rosé to wash it all down. It wasn't too crowded or too loud for Saturday night and our server was really nice. It was a short walk back to our Airbnb and is in a nice, safe location in downtown Jersey City.

Yelp
This place slaps. I am obsessed with it. The burgers are big and delicious. Now you should expect to pay about $20 per person depending on what you are ordering. The atmosphere is cute and they have a lot of indoor seating with sports playing on their TVs facing their bar. I enjoyed my burger greatly and I cannot tell if it is because I was super hungry or if the food was good. I would say their fries were delicious. We got one of the specialty fries to split for the two of us and it was great. The only downside is that fries do not come with burgers so you are paying a larger price for burgers but nothing insane for the area. Overall, I would come back but it is a bit pricey. Enjoyed my meal here though!
google avatar

Suchi O.

Yelp
We had been here for early lunch around 11:30am Disinterested hostess, average food and ok ambiance Burgers are for $15 or more and come with no sides! Portion sizes are Ok, infact the burger buns are small like in Mac or Bk. May be its time of the day that we went here, but our experience was less than average!
google avatar

Sean G.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch one day. Had the one of the specials, and boy was it special. Will be back, likely with friends. For those who care about that sorta thing the playlist they had on ripped too.

Yelp
Stumbled across this spot when visiting Barcade for a date night. Super glad we did because the food, burgers and staff were great. They were all SO friendly which is a great sign when you first walk in, but when the service and friendless continues throughout the entire visit- you know it's a great place! Multiple waiters checked in on us to make sure we were happy and okay with our order when it came out. But I'm jumping ahead :) Started by ordering some nachos. Nothing special, just some basic chili nachos but they really hit the spot! They were super delicious and they didn't skimp on the nacho cheese which was a plus! :) They have a great menu of speciality burgers but they also have a build your own option which is what I went with. I did a burger with grilled onions, bacon and bbq sauce. Pretty simple! It was delish. I ate every bite! Hubby was very happy with his burger too. The only downside is that the burgers don't come with fries so you need to order them separate but that is pretty standard with a burger place. Also the order of fries is large enough to share. Split between my husband and I, we still had some leftover so it wasn't an issue. We'd deff come back here! Loved the food and vibe!

Yelp
Left Bank Burger Bar has the best burgers in Jersey City! It had a no non-sense sports bar vibe with tvs playing sports, music, casual atmosphere, and great service! We came at 7:30pm on a Saturday, and the place was pretty busy. I think we would have had to wait a while for a table, but we were seated at the bar right away. The bartender checked in on us frequently, and we got our food really quickly! We tried the Meltdown (patty melt) and the Bankrupt burger. The special "bank" sauce was delicious and pickle-y. The burgers were cooked perfectly medium and were juicy and flavorful without being too raw in the center. Additionally, they have gluten free burger buns! Overall, this is a classic burger joint, and I'd highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
My family and I got an early weekend dinner from Burger Bar. It was ready for pickup 20-30 minutes (we ordered around 5pm). I got the Honey Hot, which was great! I loved the slaw and sweetness, and the level of spiciness was perfect. The sweet potato fries had a great texture. Loaded fries were truly loaded - a hamburger on fries! The mac n cheese balls were great for snacking. I only wish there had been a few more options for younger kids on the menu.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Left Bank Burger. I got the mac daddy burger with onion rings on the side. I was really looking forward to trying this because I've heard great things, but the burger was underwhelming. I was expecting it to be juicy and it was pretty dry. It didn't have any spice or flavors to it either. The fried Mac and cheese was yummy though! But the burger should have been the main focus.
google avatar

Lynell B.

Yelp
Cute spot with Great burgers and cocktails! The staff was very nice and took great care of us!
google avatar

Alden K.

Yelp
My wife ordered the meltdown burger medium rare. It came back a beautiful medium rare. It was cut in half. It tasted like it came out of a fancy diner. She had onion rings on the side, which cost $17 with the burger. They were crispy, not soggy at all. The onion rings were bland, but good if you really want to appreciate the flavor of the onion. But still, super crunchy. I ordered the Mac Daddy burger medium rare with fries ($19). It came out not sliced in half and undercooked. The fried mac and cheese inside was all mac and little cheese. It was bland and honestly a little weird. I took it out and couldn't eat it, my wife said it was just ok and she ate part of it. I didn't mention this to the staff, so maybe they could have made it right, so I won't take any stars away for the Mac Daddy. But I'll never order it again. I will come back and get the meltdown Burger. The fries were very good as well.

Yelp
Ive been coming to this place since 2016 and it's definitely still a favorite spot of mine in the downtown area! Went today with a friend and it's just as good as I remember it :) My friend and I split a nachos which was yum, loved the extra kick the jalapeños gave it. We both got the Muenster Mash burger and it was delicious. Thought the fried cheese would be too overbearing but it was a nice bold touch of flavor! Lastly, I got a drink which was their rum punch. It was a refreshing cocktail perfect for the summer heat~

Yelp
Where: 194 Newark Ave, Jersey City, NJ What: The Meltdown: House blended beef, caramelized onions, bank sauce and grilled cheese challah. Mac Daddy Burger: House blended beef, fried mac and cheese, butcher cut smoked bacon, garlic herb mayo and tomato. My Comments: There are some very good burgers being served at the Left Bank and the staff could not be nicer or more attentive. We started with house-made mac and cheese pops and house-made fried pickles, both were served with house-made buttermilk ranch dressing for dipping and both were surprisingly better than anticipated. The Meltdown was the clear winner between these 2 burgers, it was excellent. The bun on the Mac Daddy Burger was way too much bread for this burger which knocked the burger-to-bun ratio off the charts. It was also cooked beyond the request for med-rare and into the valley of med-well. The mac & cheese topping was dry and the garlic herb mayo was overly sweet. With that said, I'm not rating the Mac Daddy. The Meltdown however, gets a solid 9/10. (See Photos & Captions)

Vassilios B.

Yelp
They only get better! Seriously. Onion Rings and classic burgers are killers! The specialty burgers are daring and exciting!

Yelp
I want to update my review with a very positive experience that I just had for a catering order. I ordered a tray of wings from LB for the super bowl and it was a great deal -- 35 wings for $35. They only advertised as having a 25 or a 50 wing deal, but they were able to accomodate my special request no problem. The order was ready right on time and most importantly, the wings were plump and delicious. The tray came with a generous side of blue cheese and tons of carrots and celery. The wings were flavorful with just the right amount of heat. I'm always on the hunt for great wings in JC, and I'm also always on the hunt for places that have great catering deals. It's great to know that Left Bank delivers on both fronts. I'd happily order catering again or just come by for a solo order of those fire wings.

Yelp
Went in for a burger and hot dogs as it was Memorial Day. Always an outstanding meal with great service! Found out some exciting news. They are opening a second restaurant in Jersey City (Lafayette). Can't wait! Closer to my job. Planning to be a lunchtime regular! Love the variety in the burgers. My new fav comes with sautéed onions, Gruyere cheese, and Portabella mushrooms. Also, found out the specials change about every two weeks. Need to step up my game, I think I missed a few. Family friendly atmosphere.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I really loved this place. The first time I came in was for lunch with my coworkers. I had the Muenster mash burger, it was absolutely delicious! My most recent visit was this past Saturday. I suggested to my boyfriend we have dinner here before a concert. We started with the fried pickles. We each had the Muenster mash burger. We both really enjoyed our food. They have a fully stocked bar and the drinks were well made. Definitely stop by if you're in the mood for a great burger!
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
Very nice! Tried this place for the first time on delivery' and it was impressive!! Ordered the ghost burger and did not read carefully about the ghost pepper jam - it resulted for us having fire diarrhea for the next few days - just tells you how spicy and cool this burger is! The fried sweet potato tots are amazing to neutralize the spiciness in the burger! Also love their fries and chicken wings (dry rub thumbs up!)!! Happy that we discovered a new tasty and cool place on delivery apps!!! Their burgers are very unique and tasty!!! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jose C.

Yelp
This place was amazing! From the moment we walked in we felt at home. The service was attentive, professional and down to earth. Families welcome! Must try the new Patty Melt smash burger!!! It's was gone in 60 seconds it was sooooo good!! Great place to eat good, drink well, and catch the game. Definitely recommend this place. And the bartender Crystal was the best!!! Already planning my next visit. Maybe every week! The manager Nina was so gracious. Ask for them.
google avatar

Kendall S.

Yelp
Being new to the area, I've been trying to stick close to home and try a few local restaurants. Left Bank exceeded my expectations! I visited Left Bank an hour before they closed mid-week and it seemed like there were still a decent amount of people there. The menu is simple, but effective and the staff are super attentive. We ordered a build your own burger and I loved all the different topping options they have. They also have a pretty long draft list to add to your meal. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the fries were exactly crispy enough. I can't wait to come here again and try more from their menu! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
If you're looking for an affordable meal with good servings sizes this is the place to go. Not to mention the food/drinks are delicious and you get polite/kind service. We ordered the fried pickles, along with burgers, a Moscow mule, and sangria. All the food came out in a timely manner and was piping hot. Let me tell you these burgers are massive. Neither me or my boyfriend could finish our burgers but we wish we could have.
google avatar

Erika P.

Yelp
The burger options at this place are wild and delicious!! THE burger Bar is real! This place Never disappoints...yummy yummy in my tummy! The fires are great too!

Yelp
We brought our girls here (ages 8 and 6) on a Saturday evening. I saw it was highly rated as a kid friendly place, and it did not disappoint. I was truly impressed with the attentive service and patience every single server had with us. Anything we needed, was taken care of quickly and with pleasure. We felt truly welcome, and that means a lot, especially with the kids!!! So thank YOU, to the wait staff and management for making the experience a welcoming and delicious one!!! Food was amazing- the sangria especially hit the spot and the burgers/fries were fresh and tasty!! So many interesting combos on the menu. The bar is well stocked too if you're looking for that kind of vibe. The girls loved their sliders/chicken fingers (some of the better chicken fingers I've ever had too) and the Mac and cheese bites as an appetizer. We will absolutely be returning with the family and recommending to everyone we know. Maybe we'll return next time as a date night and try some more of the drinks (that look delicious......) :)
google avatar

Sally B.

Yelp
I love this place. It's a local burger shop with a full bar and unique (usually over-the-top) burger specials. I love that you can customize your burger, and they also have amazing seasoned fries. The price is great, and the service is quick. It's never too packed, and it's a great meal. Every time I am in the mood for a burger and a beer, I only head to Left Bank. The ambiance is cozy and they usually place some good music and sports.
google avatar

Desiree F.

Yelp
So I had this spot on my list for a while and decided to give it a try. I called in my order of the veggie burger with a side of the bank sauce and french fries. It came to a total of $14.06. When I arrived I parked illegally in the front of the restaurant. I went in and it was a cute bar and grill. I told the lady my name and she handed me my food and I paid and left. When I got in I ate and the fries were good. I liked the bank sauce with the veggie burger. It was a good topping. The food was pretty good and I would like to try this spot again to try more items.

Christopher B.

Yelp
This place was utterly underwhelming. Possibly the worst onion rings ever. Beer selection meh. But what about the burger you ask? Surely a place with Burger in its name would do this well...also a weak showing here. Yes it was thick but that should mean that you can cook it to specifications. I ordered medium got well. It turned to a mess almost immediately. Service? This is where they truly fell apart. I came in well before rush, there was one other patron in the whole damned place. Where did I get sat? That's right, next to the one dude already there. He immediately started telling me how the service was a problem. He ate and cleared out in a hurry. All in all, edible burger, but barely; HORRIBLE onion rings. Will not be returning and I live in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I always love my trips to Left Bank Burger Bar. The vibe is always great! I love the music and staff are very nice. Me and my friend were seated immediately on a Friday night. Our waitress was really welcoming and asked for our drink and appetizer orders quickly. We both enjoyed our mules! For the app we ordered Fried Mac and Cheese Pops. I usually don't like mac and cheese anything but wow it was good! For our food we both got the Bankrupt Burger. It was really tasty but I should've asked for no cheese. They really drenched it with cheese so it made the burger too liquidy for me. The fries are great. This is a perfect spot to go if you want a chill vibe and good food.
google avatar

Indy L.

Yelp
My usual go-to spot in Jersey City for a good burger. I tried the turkey burger this time and loved it! There were a couple of new items in the menu since the first time I came here
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
Solid burger spot in JC! Great atmosphere with dark wood tones throughout, this is a good casual date spot/ beer&burger with friends place! Nice full bar featured prominently in the back with two TV screens hanging from the ceiling. Good lunch vibe on a Friday afternoon. Service was prompt with smiles and my burger hit the spot! It wasn't on the menu - but the waitress brought it to my attention as the "champion" of the burger contest and it had beef patty, hoisin sauce, sticky pork belly, sriracha, onion, etc. and it was so juicy and delicious. Definitely couldn't eat with hands because it got real messy not to mention too high to bite down easily without making a mess! Not a bad thing for a burger though! The chili & jalapeno fries were slightly on the dry side with chili being one of those drier types. Decent, but wouldn't order again. There are a number of other burgers that I'd like to try next time. Coming back for sure!
google avatar

Rochelle A.

Yelp
Having been born and raised in Jersey City, it pains me to have to leave this review. My friend and I were both deeply insulted when this establishment refused to let us use their restroom if we didn't eat in, meanwhile we had bought a plethora of drinks from their outdoor bar during the downtown fair(see picture). Sad that these businesses choose greed over common courtesy and customer service. Luckily the dominos down the block knew how to better treat their customers. Won't miss left bank burgers, better spots to patronize than this place.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
I was in the mood for a burger and Left Bank was within a 10 minute walk from our apartment. We ordered via Yelp for pick up and our order was ready by the time we arrived. Food was still hot and delicious by the time we got home. We split the Spinach Artichoke Dip, which is a huge portion. But I thought it was a bit bland. It definitely could've used some salt. I had the Meltdown Burger, which is literally the best of both worlds, in my opinion. You get a burger AND a grilled cheese! X had the Muenster Mash Burger, which he said was pretty good. It was definitely a giant burger.
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
I always forget about this spot and every time I go back I ask myself WHY? The staff is friendly and are eager/knowledgeable if you have any questions. I would totally recommend the wings - I ordered the dry rub and they are probably one of the best in the area. Obviously their burgers are pretty good as well. Glows: -Friendly staff -Socially distanced tables -Food is good -Prices are good Grows: -The lighting can get a little dark but that would just be knit picking at this point lol It was fine -I'd like to see them expand on the menu. I've also heard that they have some secret item not listed on the menu - since I don't go very often I usually forget. If it's actually true, possibly have the server remind patrons of it. In the end, I'll definitely be back!
