Best food we had during our 4 day trip to Edinburgh. Nice cozy small restaurant serving fresh seafood. Oysters were especially nice, although the mains we had were all so nicely presented and cooked to perfection. We had the Cod, Octopus, fried squid, trout and halibut. Also very friendly with our 4 year old boy.

Great service, and hearty food. Loved the views from the restaurant. The trout dish could use a wee bit more salt, but that’s up to personal preference. Will definitely come back!

The staff here has lovely attention to detail. When I was feeling slightly cold due to a draft, they did not hesitate to cover the draft using any materials they could find. The sea trout and the dessert (honey cake) was outstanding. Highly recommend bar seating, as the view of the park is beautiful on a sunny day.

Absolutely lovely meal. The flavors are delicate and rich. For anyone who wants to taste something other than salt, I would recommend this place! We ordered the root vegetable labneh, crispy squid, trout and cod. Followed by the chocolate mousse. For drinks, the Riesling is a must.

What a find! Greatly executed good with flair and creativity, small menu mostly centred on fish. The halibut crudo entrée was outstanding and the hake with chanterelles mushrooms and new potatoes also comes highly recommended. The wine list boat smaller quality producers with even a section on orange wines (hooray !) High attention to details when it comes to service and decor. A charming place opposite beautiful green space made this one of the best lunch during my Scottish stay. Very highly recommended.

Excellent food with very fresh, high-quality products. Great selection of wines. The location is quite central, with a very nice view over the Bruntsfield Links. The restaurant is small but spacious, making the atmosphere quite intimate and simply perfect for a nice meal with friends and loved ones (particularly for special occasions!). The staff is lovely, very polite and attentive. Fair prices. I can't recommend it more.

Beautiful, understated restaurant with a warm and gorgeous atmosphere. I had lunch here and loved every dish.

My husband and I had dinner her last night. We chose here as it was a recommendation of Jay Rayners. The food was beautiful we had oysters followed by the cod the cod was exquisite. I had pavlova for dessert which I would highly recommend. We sat at the bar and I'm sure it must be difficult for the owner having to concentrate whilst listening to me chatter and ask questions. However she was lovely and engaging. I will definitely come again when I'm next in Edinburgh.

A friend had recommended LeftField, so decided to make reservations here for lunch. Service was quick with the food coming out in about 10 minutes. I ordered the roast hake w/ asparagus. The fish was cooked perfectly: skin was nice and crispy, fish was tender and moist. FYI the entrance looks more like a side door (entering into the bar). No visible markings or signage to indicate such. The door in the corner entering into the dining room is not it. I found this out the hard way when I arrived at 12 and it looked like they just weren't ready yet (not to mention the website saying they open at 12:30). So I nearly lost my reservation when I came back later.

LeftField is absolutely incredible, a true hidden gem. The food, staff, and atmosphere were a 10/10. Highly recommend it to anyone spending some time in Edinburgh.
