Chicago-Style Pizzeria Bringing Pan Pizzas to Lake Travis | Eater Austin

"Opening in September in the Lake Travis neighborhood, Lefty’s Pizza Kitchen will be the chain's third location (the other two are in Illinois) and will be located at 18101 State Highway 71. It serves both thin- and pan-crust pizzas — including an Italian beef giardiniera pizza — alongside meaty sandwiches, wings, salads, and other sides, and it will also serve beer and wine." - Erin Russell

We came on a trip to one of the rivers nearby and came here for dinner. It was our first time here and we LOVED IT!!! The location has a beautiful view for the sunset, the environment was very friendly as the staff was very patient with our questions and the food was delicious, we tried the buffalo chicken and da Chicago ones and honorable mention to the brownies. We HAD to take one extra to go.

Great pizza place! The dough is really delicious, soft and perfectly baked. The flavors are spot on, and the whole atmosphere is warm and welcoming. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good meal.

It took me awhile to rate this 5 stars, as I was hovering on 4 stars for a bit, but 5 stars became the only choice when my wife and I had the leftovers three times... which were excellent each time. Really, what more can one ask for from a pizza place? Thus, to the experience... Website is pretty good, although I was a bit confused as to "what" pies they offer...other than two pre-made choices. Particularly to this regard, I was not certain how to make my own pizza, so I selected the Italian sausage variety. I called in, and service was friendly and professional, and they even assisted me with directions. When I arrived, I found the establishment clean and well-lit. The service continued to be friendly throughout as I patiently waited to pick up my pizza at the proscribed time. I ordered the deep-dish style, 16" for around $35. When I received it, I noticed how heavy it was and knew in terms of portion - I was getting my money's worth. The pizza itself was excellent, with plenty of marinara (which was not too sweet), plenty of delicious cheese, fresh toppings, and a pleasant watery finish to the crust which indicated a true, freshly made pie. My only criticism was that the pizza was a bit undercooked in the middle, which was probably a facet of it's size and deep-dish nature. The greatest compliment I can pay a restaurant is to say it was well worth my time and hard-earned money, and I intend to return.

Absolutely amazing!! My husband LOVES deep dish and said “second best pizza I’ve ever had” - first being a place in Chicago. That’s saying a lot! Best pizza I’ve ever had. Not just saying that either. Go hungry! The owner was personable and super nice. We will be back!

Don’t hesitate to dine in or take out. It’s conveniently right of HWY71 but off the road a little bit. Service and staff were super friendly, answered all my questions and even informed me of a BOGO promo on 10” pizzas when I was there(it’s was a Tuesday). I got the “meat sweats” in a pan pizza and “the sink” in thin crust pizza. Which are essentially a pizza with all the meat and a supreme in that order. Took about 15-20 min to make, they make everything fresh and I got it to go but sat down for a couple bites before I left. Both pies were amazing!! Will definitely stop in next time I’m in the area!!

Lefty’s is hands down my favorite pizza spot! The crust is always baked just right, the toppings are fresh and loaded with flavor, and you can taste the quality in every bite. The staff is welcoming and makes you feel like a regular the moment you walk in. Lefty’s never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Lefty's Pizza Kitchen is a solid choice if you're craving a good slice. The pizza is tasty with a nice crispy crust, but nothing super unique or mind-blowing. The vibe is chill, and it’s a good spot to hang with friends. That said, if you're not in Lakeway, the location might feel a bit out of the way. It's not a must-visit, but if you're nearby, it’s definitely worth checking out! Why do they call it lefty's?!
