I order a house salad with chicken once a week. I’ve been doing that for six months or more. They started out great. Now the eggs are smaller, the amount of chicken is less and this last time each of the salad dressings were filled less than half. I’m very disappointed and will start looking elsewhere for my weekly salad

My wife and I went for dinner on Saturday around 5 pm. It was about 60% compacity. Our server was Caitina. Very nice lady. We ordered white sangria and half a dozen oysters for starter. It took the kitchen about 15 minutes and another 10 minutes to have two breads. Then, we put in orders for shrimp cervechi, artic char, and bolognese pasta. The oysters, shrimp cervechi, and artic char are pretty good and fresh. The bolognese pasta was bland. The kitchen was super slow with the food. At 60% compacity, it shouldn't be that slow.

I guess it was overhyped to me because I thought the food was overall okay but way too heavily seasoned to even taste the seafood. Most of the dishes come with sauces and other additions. The oysters were good however.

Jess Knight is the BEST server ever!! She literally made our night. My family came here to celebrate after a long day of wedding dress shopping and man oh man did she take care of us. Jess addressed all 6 people at our table by our first names (impressive), offers meal and side suggestions, cracked jokes, shared stories, and even treated my fiancée and I to a surprise dessert! She is truly incredible and we cannot WAIT to go back!! 🤍

4.4 stars rounding down to 4 Our waiter Brian was the best. We loved him! I liked this place a lot. Granted, there’s a lot of Legal Seafoods all over Boston. We did not enjoy our crab cake to be honest. It was too fishy/crabby and we couldn’t finish it. That being said, the lobster roll was tremendous. Exactly what you should want for a hot w/ butter roll. And it was huge, market price was $45 that day. We also got the rainbow trout. It was perfect and tasted great. I got the herbed rice pilaf and the schezwan green beans as a side which I can HIGHLY recommend. The rolls beforehand were hot and fresh. Drinks were great too. Arguably one of the best restaurants in Braintree. There isn’t much competition especially on this side of town, but that still says a lot. You should feel confident having a good lunch/dinner here on any day of the week. Will go again!

Google
Food was good. Although the pesto-cheese-tomato dish was too salty, they took it back and offered to redo it or refund it. Since I didn't know if it was supposed to be that way because everyone's taste is different, we just ordered something else. Great service.

My granddaughter and I were having a special night out. Vanessa was our server. She was amazing!!! We would have given her 10 stars. My granddaughter is 7 and Vanessa spent time making her feel special by making eye contact and not talking down to her. The kid’s menu was perfect with many different options. My only disappointment was that you ran out of the steamer special. Thank you Vanessa for a wonderful experience!!

Google
Cool atmosphere. Server was very helpful in explaining. Got their cod meal plus fish and chips. Honestly, neither were very good. Very bland fish and small portions for the price. Got spicy cucumber margarita which was delicious.

Yelp
I'm happy to share that my dining experience at the Braintree MA Legal Seafood restaurant exceeded expectations for dinner earlier today. I thoroughly enjoyed the sole and my dining companion was thrilled with the gluten free whole belly fried clams and onion strings. Our server, Hannah, was equally as delightful to interact with as she was knowledgeable about gluten free available options. As for ambience, I can't recommend the open kitchen style that the Legal Seafood chain has adopted. It's simply completely unnecessary noise. I do recommend the location, the menu, the chef and our exceptional service!

Yelp
The food was horrible My salad was drenched with dressing and the lettuce was completely limp It was supposed to be a Greek salad and had chickpeas and tiny pieces of tomato My crab roll was canned low grade substance with no mayo stuck in a hot dog roll My husband shrimp scampi was terrible floating in some kind of sour juice We both sent our whole meal back and weren't even refunded Absolutely horrible food if you can call it that

Yelp
I went to Legal Sea Foods in Braintree on the afternoon of July 4th and ordered grilled salmon with a fruit cup and pilaf rice for my kids--their food tasted great. I also got the grain bowl with seared tuna, but it was a letdown. The tuna came in two thick chunks that weren't spread out, and it didn't taste fresh--it had a weird, fishy smell, like old seafood. I tried to tell myself I was just overthinking and gave it a shot, but I couldn't get past the taste. I've had this grain bowl more than seven times before--mostly at the Long Wharf location in Boston and a couple of times at Braintree--so I know what it's supposed to taste like. After this, I don't think I'll be ordering it again from the Braintree location. On the bright side, the place had its usual nice vibe, it wasn't busy, and the service was okay. I still have to say, Legal Sea Foods at Long Wharf is hands-down my favorite--the food is always on point, just like it says on the menu, and the atmosphere and service are usually great.

Yelp
Beautiful location with bar and seating overlooking South Shore Plaza and little bit of Blue Hills. A very large restaurant with an extensive menu. The bread and butter is always so good. The New England Clam Chowder was filled with large clams. Raw oysters from the Cape were fresh and good.

Yelp
The Legal's of yesterday is not the Legal's of today...tragic. I came here for dinner with my friend last night. First off, my friend wanted a booth as we wanted to catch up after over a year of not seeing each other. She asked the hostess and he told us we had to request it with the reservation and it is reserved. I felt like he could have worded this in a nicer way but it came off snarky, he said "everyone wants a booth"...okay. After we are seated, our waiter comes through, he is friendly but to be honest, we weren't sure if it was his first day on the job. My friend needed to charge her dead phone and requested for it to be charged which they gladly accepted to (keep in mind, she planned to use ApplePay). We started with still water, French 75 cocktails, and oysters. The service was sooooo slow. The French 75 came out, followed by the water, then 30 mins later, the oysters came out...oysters that don't even need to be cooked. We got the bread first, just two by the way. And it even took a while for the bread to come out. My friend and I used to chow down on Legal's bread back in the day and they used to be generous, but I guess economic hardship?? When the oysters finally came out, they were placed at the edge of the table rather than the center of the table. This was really irritating because there was space in the center of the table so that didn't really make any sense. Further, the dirty plates we ate our bread on weren't cleared off. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese because I was curious as to why I never tried theirs and now I wish I never did. It was cold on the inside and tasteless. It was also topped with bread crumbs which I didn't care for and I just had to send it back. I replaced it with my tried and true, fried scallops and shrimps, with a side of mash potatoes and broccoli. I almost returned that dish as well. The scallops were mushy and overcooked and the batter tasted burnt. I was so upset and complained to my friend the whole night and felt bad about it. I ordered dessert to make up for everything because in my eyes, that was the only promising thing I was going to enjoy. I ordered the Boston cream pie and it was good, but again sloooowww service, like painfully slow! Finally my friend is ready to pay and asks for her phone back, phone was still dead when they gave it back, a mess. She had to sit by the bar to charge it so she could pay. I mean, what kind of incompetence is that?! Anyways, unfortunately this will probably be my last time coming here. That food was horrible and I threw it out. What a waste, such a shame!

Yelp
After they removed our favorite dish from the menu, we haven't gone to eat here in awhile. However, it was one of the few restaurants that was open during a holiday and decided to give it another try. The place still remained fresh and clean when we walked in. And the staff immediately greeted us. Being a holiday, we had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress, Olivia, immediately greeted us and was incredible. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and answered the number questions that my party had. She has such a contagious positivity. She really made the whole experience of eating there even better. The arrived and it was exactly what we ordered (with all of the substitutions). We all enjoyed what we ordered!

Yelp
My first experience at the Braintree location of Legal Seafood was not the best. But I guess that's what I get for going there on Chowda Day 2024 (January 15, 2024), when it is a buck a cup of their clam chowder! I ordered ahead but the take out line was out the door when I got there. It was the same line whether you ordered ahead or came to order in person. The line was slow going. No surprise when it turns out only one of the staffers behind the counter was actually interacting with the take out line, as well as taking calls. No surprise as well that my order was cold when I got it home. The surprise was that there were no rolls for the entrees and no oyster crackers for the chowders. Can't grade the food appropriately or well since fried food is not at its best eaten cold and no longer crisp. And there is no joy in eating cold clam chowder. *** Ordered their lobster roll to go. It was half pound of meat supposedly (as I didn't try weighing it), on a toasted roll, sliced in two. And it came with a good portion of French fries, a small cup of creamy Cole slaw, ketchup, and a roll. When I called in my order, I asked for extra rolls since I didn't get any the last time. But when I arrived to pick it up, no extra rolls had been provided. And when I asked for a few more, it was obvious that the staff really didn't want to comply. *** Mother's Day celebration lunch. Walking in, we saw many dining on chowder and lobster rolls. They've been advertising their Express Lunch Combos online, so it seemed odd that they only gave us the regular menu when we were seated. But some inquiry resulted in several smaller menus being brought over. The cup of chowder for the combo was good sized. And I enjoyed my petit crabmeat roll, although next time I'd probably go for the petite hot lobster roll, since those who shared both ended up unanimously preferring the latter. *** Yeah, they still don't bring out the lunch combo menu till you ask. I don't get it. And the food (a mix of express lunch combos and other items) took over 20 min to arrive at the table. But they brought out a freebie cookie skillet a la mode for the birthday boy with a candle on it.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised. I will admit I judged this place and wasn't expecting much with it being a chain restaurant, but I'm happy to report my expectations have been exceeded! My husband and I came in on a weeknight and sat at the bar. The restaurant is attached to a hotel, so I wasn't surprised that it was packed. We ordered shrimp cocktail to start. The shrimp were huge and tasted fresh. I liked that they mixed horseradish (one of my favorite condiments) in with the cocktail sauce. For our entree, we shared the fisherman's platter. It was a great portion size for 2 people. All the seafood was perfectly fried in a lovely batter. It was not dry/crunchy like over-frying can do or greasy like under-frying can be. Everything was literally perfectly fried; even the french fries were excellent! The couple sitting next to us commented on how good the platter looked! Based on this experience, I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you have a seafood craving :)

Yelp
We had late reservations after picking up family at Logan Express. Never been to this location prior, though I'm a long time fan of LS. Although our server was adequate, the interior looks tired and dated. The flooring looked sticky. We were seated in the extreme back alongside the prep station. Not a fan of the vibe here. My Greek salad with crabmeat was very good. No complaints with the fish sandwiche. The spicy tuna roll was tops. The steamers were very large and rubbery. My sis described them as very "low tide"! My southern BIL decided to add "angry" Cajun spice to his fried whole belly clams--we New Englanders decided it a BAD IDEA. It overpowered the clams and we were not fans and remained the only ones angry! I felt a little meh by this location, as my usuals are Burlington or Lynnfield.

Yelp
If you're a salmon lover, this place has to be on your list. I came in not knowing what to expect, and I left already planning my next visit. The salmon was absolutely perfect--fresh, flaky, and cooked just right. I had the grilled salmon with a light lemon butter sauce, and it was honestly one of the best I've had in a long time. You can tell they care about the quality of their ingredients. The service was just as impressive. Our server was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations without being pushy. The whole staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Food came out quickly, and everything was timed well--no long waits, no rushed dishes.

Yelp
Alll I'm saying is, get ready to be wowed. Legal Sea foods has all of your cravings. From surf and turf to garden and desert! Great experience with generous portions. $$$ is reasonably for excellent fresh seafood at a fine dinning establishment. I've never had a bad experience in all the years I've been going to legal Sea foods excellent customer service very knowledgeable on entrées as well as drinks. Don't forget to try the Barrada and tomato salad.

Yelp
Awesome location, amazing service, and delicious food! We stayed at the Hyatt next door and it was a few steps away from the front door of Legal. We enjoyed the mussels and I had the trout with Jasmine rice and my husband had the burger. Everything was great and service was so fast and friendly. October is oyster month and every Tuesday in October they have $1.00 oysters. I enjoyed 2 dozen of the freshest oysters that I have had in a long time. Again the guys at the bar were so friendly and they didn't skip a beat when it came to drinks! If you are ever in the Braintree Ma area stop by. The prices are average to high for seafood but you are getting the freshest and tastiest in the area.

Yelp
On this past Father's Day my husband and I decided to grab an early dinner. We had a friendly and prompt waitress who took our drink/food orders. We asked for "to go" containers for our leftovers, and as I was scooping out my left-over Herbed rice pilaf, I spotted a long strand of black hair hidden on the bottom of the plate. I instantly felt ill to my stomach and informed the waitress, who immediately informed the manger. He came over to our table, apologized, took the meal off of our bill and offered to make something else but I didn't want to take another chance, and opted for cheesecake. Ok you're probably thinking "it sounds like everything went well". This may sound petty but as we were given the cheesecake to go, I assumed that we would were given 2 slices, since there were "2" people sitting at our table. After arriving home, I pulled out the contents in the bag and felt soooo disappointed that we were only given 1 slice. I guess I can't always assume and just because I was the only one who had a problem, there still was no excuse that were only given that 1slice would have been provided. We're on the fence on returning back.

Yelp
As someone who has worked as host at Legals I expected more from Legals tonight. We were sat got drinks and rolls and but were never asked for more rolls. Had our meal but I clearly stated it was my birthday and nothing was done. This is in reservation notes it was a birthday so host never saw or told waitress.

Yelp
Came here for chowder day 2025 with $1 cup of chowder! A great deal. Ordered in and did take out but the atmosphere of this restaurant seemed lively! Would absolutely come back to try their food

Yelp
Reservation for 3 at 6pm, Saturday evening. Celebrating 35 year Anniversary, which was noted on the Open Table reservation. Arrived 20 minutes early and was sat in the middle of dining room. Asked for a booth and was told they were reserved for reservations. Didn't I have one??? 80 year old in our party had ny strip steak that was supposed to be med rare it was more like medium, but she said it was otherwise okay. I had a rotten lemon in my water. Lemon was replaced but not the water. I ordered the lobster Mac n cheese, which could have been a little creamier and offer a larger portion for over $50. It also was a little bland. Usually, different cheeses can make a difference for flavor, but salt and pepper helped. Even the Caesar salad was dry, but we asked for extra dressing. my hubby had counted 3 clams in his chowder and possibly equivalent to a whole potato cut up into small pieces. He left over a half cup of potatoes behind and was thoroughly disappointed in LS as the chowder is normally his favorite thing to order. His stuffed lobster tails had a nice balance of stuffing and lobster, his mashed potatoes were yummy to me only and the corn was too sweet. He didn't care for them at all. My tiki drink was good. We visit Legals often, but for our most important celebration, I need a redo! The check was over $240. I'd like a partial refund or a redo! They probably won't give either, but they need to do better next time as we are regulars and frequent LS often and for most occasions. Celebrating 35 years married should have had more intimate seating like a booth and our anniversary should have been recognized by at least one staff member since it was mentioned in our reservation. I think a possible manager kept standing behind me counting tables. I thought he was about to announce or anniversary. Not! Made my eating experience extremely uncomfortable. Service was hectic but our waitress did the best she could during undesirable circumstances.

Yelp
Came here for dinner, they have many seafood options. We ordered the Swordfish with seasonal vegtables and Cioppino seafood stew. The fish was cooked perfect and the Cioppino only came with just the seafood no pasta or sides just a slice of toast, find price was pretty high for what was portion size.

Yelp
Are you in town for business? Has the family come to visit and they've been dying for you to take them to a seafood restaurant that is the staple of Massachusetts? All you have to do is come to Legal Sea Foods. Preferably the location in Braintree. It has a view from the booth or bar that will allow you to watch the sunset & please don't ask for any substitutes. They prefer to keep things how it is. Which is understandable. The vibe was so great I instantly told my grandma I had to take her here. Now you know it's a good place if you can take Grams.

Yelp
Made reservations to go to lunch on Valentines Day, and what a disappointment! From entering the restaurant and waiting to be seated to a Lobster Roll that was old and obviously cold from being poorly refrigerated or frozen. Shocking from a restaurant chain I frequent and simply embarrassing considering the cost. Received a call from a manager after posting a review but he never called back. You judge. Will never dine at this location and recommend that you spare yourself of this experience.

Yelp
There was a bogo deal on the lobster roll, so we decided to come here for Saturday dinner. It was pretty packed already at 5:30pm. We did make a 6:15 reservation but arrived early, and after 10 min, wait, they were able to sit us. The place is pretty big with a bar on one side of the restaurant. We got a hot lobster roll with butter and a cold lobster roll with mayo as well as the salmon entree. The salmon came with two sides, and we chose the asparagus and broccoli. Salmon and both sides were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. I would definitely get the salmon again on my next visit. Both lobster rolls were filled with fresh and sweet lobster meat on top savory bun. The potato fries were great, crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside.

Yelp
While traveling for work this week in Boston I wanted to try seafood. I asked several team members about their favorite seafood restaurants and the majority stated Legal Seafood. So off to LSF, I sat at the bar and the bartender was phenomenal! He was informed about the foods and offered helpful suggestions. I starter with a Kentucky Calypso, this was not what I expected (too bitter) so, I had to try something different. The bartender made some suggestions and exchanged this drink for the Sunshine Mojito, which was great not too tart and not too sweet. My appetizer was the Bang Bang Cauliflower! I'm a whimp when it comes to spicy foods but, this was just right for my taste buds. The Bang Bang Cauliflower was not extremely hot just enough to make my nose run. Lol! For dinner, I chose one of LSF Classics - New England Baked Haddock and this meal was gluten free. I'm am not on a gluten free diet but, I thought I would share that information and they offered several GF options. The New England Baked Haddock was nice, flakey and flavorful. I would definitely order this again! To sum this up, LSF has a great atmosphere, great staff, great drinks with excellent seafood. See you in a few months when I'm back in town!

Yelp
We flew into Boston from Arizona and took the Braintree shuttle to be picked up by family. Our first planned stop was Legal Seafoods across from the station. Legal has always been one of our favorite places whenever visiting the Boston area. Recognizing that it was early Friday evening and already a waitlist for tables we found seats at the bar for 3 of us. Steven our server, was very friendly/welcoming, immediately took our drink orders, returned with drinks and took our dinner selections. My wife ordered the fish and chips, my son the lobster roll and I opted for the 'seared' sole. We started with cups of chowder and lobster bisque served steaming hot and were delicious, just as we expected. I asked for Tabasco sauce to spice up my chowder, it didn't arrive until I was almost finished with my cup - it was great nonetheless. Our dinners came out quickly, the lobster roll was everything my son wanted, the fish and chips batter was crisp and the fish moist, unfortunately my 'seared' sole was deep fried with minimal flour coating - it was overcooked, dry and inedible. When asked about our meals I pointed out that my fish was too dry and that I only had a few bites. He apologized and said he would let the chef know. We received our bill, no accommodation for the meal I didn't eat - we paid and left. It was a disappointing first meal on our Boston trip.

Yelp
Came to this Legal Seafood location as the hubby and I were in the area to see a musical play at the local theatre. Service and ambience was great. It's really nice in the inside. I love the bread they served and wish we had more pieces For this night I ordered a burger and it was fine. Hubby ordered a salmon entree which he enjoyed. Overall good :)

Yelp
Not as good as prior ownership. The quality of the food has declined. It is not as good as before. The service was mediocre.

Yelp
When I'm in town, Legal Sea Food is a must have meal. The menu may vary tightly with test kitchen type items but there are many staples. My favorite dish is the haddock with mashed potatoes. If you are into oysters then there is a list of oysters of the day. The clam chowder is mind blowing with potatoes and cream sauce.

Yelp
One of the worst dining experiences I've had in Boston since moving here a year and a half ago. First, we had a reservation and were seated but had to wait up to 15 minutes before a waiter actually came to serve us. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it tasted not great. My partner ordered an espresso martini which was way too strong. After waiting an additional 30 minutes for our food to come out after our appetizer, we finally got our entrees. I ordered the lobster roll, which came out dry and not hot. Worst of all, there was a shell in my roll!!!! I have never had this happen to me ever when ordering a lobster roll. My partner ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, the Mac came out extremely dry and was near inedible. Our bill again, took up to 20 minutes to wait on the server to come by. It was not even crowded at all. All in all we ended up paying $160 dollars for this experience, for an appetizer, one drink and two entrees. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had, please take your money elsewhere.

Yelp
Service for take out was absolutely awful. I called my order in requesting a salmon entree and a Caesar salad for another individual when placing the order I was Rudely told "two rolls is all I can do" this took me by surprise as I have ordered from them in the past and never ran into issues. When I got to the restaurant and inquired when this changed and to confirm this wasn't possible the girl behind the counter said "I don't know". Patrons eating out and not in a restaurant yet still paying $48 dollars to an establishment should not be treated differently. When asking for bread at this location when dining in they bring by as many rolls as someone likes. I was offended and totally baffled by the treatment needless to say will not be dining here again.
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
Overall the food is good, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Here is my major issue, there were discrepancies in the menu. The broccoli with soy sauce was listen as gluten free yet the waiter later told us it had gluten. Not his fault, just an issue with the menu. The other discrepancy was quite annoying. I ordered the falafel. On the top of the page it stated it came with fries and coleslaw. It also said in the description it came with flatbread. There was no coleslaw, flatbread, or fries. I told the waiter and he seemed confused. He went and got me fries which was very nice, but once again, the menu was mislabeled. I do not intend on returning unless this issue is fixed.

Yelp
The chicken salad lunch combo today was awful.i had that same sandwich about a month ago and it was terrific .what a disappointment today. The amount of CD in the toll was negligible coupled with the fact it was hardly seasoned or dressed and dry as a bone. I had suggested ordering that as my partner's order , who normally would have ordered the lobster roll . Let me know if they need a new recipe as I have a great recipe with a secret ingredient.

Yelp
I have never liked this restaurant. Horrible customer service and food isn't great either. The last time I went was 6 years ago but my husband persuaded me to give it another chance. He also regretted it too. Never again...

Yelp
I actually stay at the Hyatt next door just so I have easy access to Legal Seafood. Their bowl of chowder is the best around- creamy and filled with clams. You even get 2 nice warm rolls and butter with it. Of course for price of $9-$10 you should. Although even without the rolls I would still get it- it is literally that good. This time tried their Legal wedge salad. It was out of this world. First I love a good wedge salad and this has it all including the crumbly and creamy blue cheese Amd some Nice fried onions on top. But the absolute star was the salmon Bacon. Yes not a misprint - salmon bacon. It looked and tasted like yummy smoked salmon that had a tiny bit of crunch to it. Absolutely amazing. And it is a really good size salad too- I was really surprised at how big it was as it was only $10. I say only but hey In todays world it is a great deal!

Yelp
Believe it or not this is my first time dining at Legal Seafood or at least my first time in many years. I can't remember. Either way I think the decor here is top notch including a view of their wine selection. They have a nice island bar with some TV's. It feels high end and not like a standard chain restaurant, however I did feel like the food is overpriced and rather standard. It's not bad, I just don't think a fish and chips is worth $28 although it was large piece of fish. Even with inflation doesn't seem worth it. I feel like I could get the same fish and chips from hole in wall restaurant at half the price and would taste just as good if not better. We had a large party and sat in a private room in the back. Our server was friendly and moved quickly. She also took plenty of photos from us. Overall, a decent experience but I probably wouldn't choose Legal, I'd only go if invited.

Yelp
I was in town visiting family for the weekend and absolutely had to get to Legals. Greeted at door by Anthony who was super nice. I was seated right away. I was disappointed to see that the menu had changed and my waitress told me it was a change in ownership and post Covid. I started with an old fashioned and a bowl of chowder. Glad to taste that the chowder remained the same. The old fashioned was ok. A little too much bitters but I worked with it. My entree was the fisherman's platter. Replacing the cod with whitefish takes away the authentic flair and also no clams!? This is New England. It just doesn't work. The point of this platter is all of the flavors of traditional NE seafood so I was disappointed. The fish was fresh but my food tasted like it had sat under a heat lamp and not like it was freshly cooked. Again disappointing. I passed on dessert. I had so looked forward to this meal but I left craving the old version. Good try!

Yelp
The food had to be remade twice when I ordered it and the guy looked at me like I had two heads . This morning it made my stomach feel like crap and the only comp they gave us was free drinks

We come here because we like the quality of the food and the ambient atmosphere. However tonight was different the food looked different both dishes were identical yet different we threw out won't recommend ordering takeout here No seaweed salad at all and both on one plate ,the lady who took are order was uninformed of the menu I guess

Yelp
I was disgusted with my meal. Way over priced for what I got. The petite salmon? You should be ashamed to serve that AND charge $16.00 to top my Greek salad which was the furthest thing from a Greek salad I ever saw...and size? OMG! If you're going to stint on a salad at least build it up w greens. Also, the prices on your website are way off from what I was charged. The experience was a rip off! Never again.

Yelp
My little family came here on a Thursday night at 7 for a party of 4 as we were staying at the Hyatt Place next door. The wait was 45 minutes and my number & name was obtained. We waited in the hotel lobby. The wait was estimated correctly and we were seated near the kitchen. Our waitress, Vanessa, was awesome! She was attentive to our boys needs and answered our questions about the menu clearly and w/o hesitation. My husband really wanted the lobster mac & cheese but it was not available. We ordered the following: 1. 2 kids meal / mac & cheese with fries (pretty big for a kids meal but sadly my boys did not like it as it was not the tradtional cheddar cheese 2. A dz oysters of the specials of the day (super fresh and texture was very 3. Stuffed shrimp (w/ crab)-My husband enjoyed it as he could taste the crab and according to him, everything was perfect. However, having some sort of grilled veggies would tastebgood. 4. Crabcake combo (w/ shrimps & scallops). My crabcake was delish and all crab which was very good as theres no starch. Crabcake was flavored well where it doesnt overdo the crab flavor. The shrimps and scallops were lightly seasoned. The pilaf rice was cooked just right, not overdone and not raw. My plate came with a walnut/raisin/apple salad which was fresh but it didnt go with the plate. I think grilled veggies would have been better. I also ordered a cucumber habanero margarita but it wasn't spicy. I had to ask for some jalapenos on the side to put in the drink.

Yelp
Server Brian was excellent, but the food was hit and miss. Greek salads, seafood rolls, fried calamari and pollock sandwich, sancerre, all hits. But my torched scallop roll was extremely hot (spicy), at or past my limit, so be advised about those. Fried clams were not overdone, yay, a rarity at many places, but meh as to flavor, said one party connoisseur. Crabcake was heavy on the crab but a piece of shell marred it. (It happens.) My own highpoint, octopus, was a fine starter with wonderful vegetables and sauces but just insanely salty. I really wanted to rinse everything. I could blame that tapenade, possibly the saffron aioli, but I also felt the wonderfully charred tentacle itself had been brined and more. Way too much even by the sodium bomb standards of restaurants today. So if any of this resonates, tell them to hold or restrain salt when you order.

Yelp
My first time back to Legal in about 12 years after a lousy experience in Framingham. We were very impressed with the service, Tony our server was fantastic, food was amazing and delicious.

Yelp
This was an adjoining location to the Hyatt.. really convenient. I am spending my birthday weekend in Boston and I wanted to try Legal Sea Foods. I really didn't have to look at that menu. It was either baked stuffed lobster or baked stuff shrimp. I opted for the shrimp. The citrus beurre blanc sauce was perfect and the rice pilaf was amazing. The lump crab stuffing was delicious and delicate. I can only imagine how good the crab cakes must be. Definitely worth it. I wish they were closer.

Yelp
You can always go to Legal Sea Foods to treat yourself with dinner. Their food is mediocre I think they fish wasn't season that well but apart from that the service and ambiance was great.

Yelp
3 stars out of 5 are entirely for the service, which was attentive and perfectly timed. Zero stars for the food. I've been a Legal patron since their singleton days in Inman Square, and later at their Park Square outpost where an appetizer platter of 22 mussels au gratin made for a sumptuous business lunch. Today, meeting up to reunite with a beloved old college friend midway between our homes, we chose Legal Braintree. We both love to cook and could have done far better in our own kitchens for the salads + seafood protein we each had. Conversation was abundant, unlike the insufficient portions of food. A Caesar + scallops; a Greek + shrimp. One iced tea, two coffees. $68 plus tip. I left hungry, satiated only by the enjoyment of reuniting with a cherished friend. Next time, my place.

Yelp
We were in the area for business for only one night and we wanted to enjoy a lobster dinner. We were recommended Legal SeaFood but a different location. We chose this one as it was only a few minutes from the Marriott Hotel. We took three seats at the bar and were served by a lovely male bartender ( I unfortunately forgot his name), Who is extremely attentive and very patient as we inquired about specific ingredients to accommodate a food allergy. He checked with the chef and came back with recommendations. The stuffed lobster was amazing! The service was spot on and our drinks were really good as well. Five star experience all around!

Yelp
Hadnt been to this location and was out for the day with the SIL and she has just recently been introduced to Lobster Rolls and I was feeling like some Oysters so we stopped in for lunch. Our waiter was GREAT, so much personality and the one thing I LOVE about Legal is how clean the place always feels (Even before COVID) - its just a clean, fresh feeling place. We got some Shrimp Cocktail (forgot to take the pic before I dug in, they were HUGE). Chowder (Legal's might be my all time fave!) and the one thing I LOVE about Legal is that if you dont eat all and want to take home, they give you a brand new fresh cup! I wonder what they do with the cup you dont eat but yes, I do this almost every trip (sshhh, insider secrets!) And we got some mussels! I dont know if this was a random good time but these might have been the BIGGEST Mussels Ive ever had and they were SOOO DELICIOUS! Im drooling right now thinking about it. So the Lobster Roll, we mentioned to the waiter how she is new to Lobster Rolls and he said they "Re-designed" their lobster roll and received feedback that they need to revamp it and OMG... The Roll - still thin is like a Hot Dog roll, not a big bulky roll but the size of it... ITS GIANT!!! See the pics, It was soo good! Pricey (dont let the price steer you away, its soooo worth it)! Now Im ready to run back ASAP!!! Hoping all locations have the same quality of items, as Ive been to other locations and the mussels werent as GIANT... Ill update! Enjoy!

Yelp
Since, I'm from Boston, I'm a huge fan of Legal Sea foods. Ive been to the Cambridge , Copley and DC locations over the years. I even remember when this location was located in the southshore mall. My mother always picks Legal Seafood for her Mother's Day celebration. In the past, we would go on a Saturday to avoid the crowds. I booked a reservation for 4 on opentable. The hostess was very nice. Our server, "Noamy" was great. She was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had a lemon drop for my drink. It was sour with just another alcohol. For the appetizer, I ordered the Rhode Island calamari. It was delicious with the marinara sauce and banana peppers. For my entree, I went big and I went for the Maine lobster! I ordered the small portion and opted for the asparagus and broccoli. I really wanted the lazy lobster but due to covid-19, they were not able to fully take out the lobster meat from the shell. For my dessert, I had the bon bons in coffee, chocolate and strawberry flavors ! They were mouth watering my. Our server even brought hot water with a spoon so I can cut into the dessert which was frozen. Our server was very attentive to our party and was very cool with my mother. This is a great place for family dinners, dates, and gatherings. The next time I'm in town, I wanna dine on the outdoor patio . The parking is free and plentiful.

Yelp
It's an over priced chain restaurant. The calamari was heavily covered in sauce and over priced. The baked stuff lobster was dry and was mostly bread filler. The salads were dripping in salad dressing. Drink were weak poured and some of their featured cocktails weren't available. Service and staff were good, nice, didn't leave empty plates sitting or glasses empty.

Yelp
The experience here was good and the food was tasty. It's not outrageously expensive and the decor is modern. If friends were visiting I'd probably take them to a local seafood place. I could see this place being good for a company outing or work function.
