"After more than 20 years of feeding shoppers and nearby accountants in Tysons Galleria, Legal Sea Foods will shutter on Wednesday, September 26. The Washington Business Journal first reported on the potential closure on Tuesday, and an employee at the first-level Tysons Galleria restaurant told Eater the location is calling it quits because its “lease was ending,” adding the other area locations will remain open in Chinatown, Reagan National Airport, and Crystal City, Va. Its modernized sister offshoot, Legal Sea Bar, recently arrived in Union Station this summer." - Tierney Plumb

Got the fried oysters with chorizo aioli, this appetizer was nice and hot. Ordered the seafood casserole- this was hot and cheesy and the mashed sweet potato side was also delicious. The surf and turf with the lobster- the steak was very tender (medium rare) but not very warm- the it barely melted the butter. The herb butter was delicious. The lobster was also quick to cool down but it was fresh and had melted butter to dip in. The crab cake combo was good if you enjoy the mustard sauce and the side salad was very fresh. The bread they bring as appetizer is nice and hot. The food was good but not amazing enough to justify the price.

Great sea food restaurant in Tyson's Galleria II. This is part of the chain up and down the east coast. It's all fresh so the menu changes. Valet parking available.

AWESOME LUNCH! I love Lobster rolls. Always have always will. BUT this time I had the Super Seafood roll and was COMPLETELY won over. Absolutely DELICIOUS. Everything we ate was outstanding and the service was top rate. What a secret place for an incredible lunch. There was practically no one there but we did have a late lunch. If you are thinking about going there stop thinking. JUST GO. You will not be disappointed.

Great seafood at a decent price, but they take a long time. Went with my friends for a nice dinner, but the steak ended up extremely overcooked. The server offered to bring the steak back in, but we were in a hurry. Considering the fact that it took an hour for the meal to come out and some of it was messed up, the store probably should have reimbursed us. They didn't. Otherwise, the food was pretty good.

The food was pretty good. Though the potato stuffed with crab is not what it sounds like. It's a baked potato on a dish with a little bit of crab on top. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. We were a big party and I felt like she really made sure we were doing okay and the food was brought out quickly.

Sat down in the general seating my party of four planed on ordering drinks, appetizers, main course and drinks, total bill would have easily been north of $300. Our waitress was nice enough to inform us tha it's happy hour and we could get less expensive items in the bar. We wanted to stay with her due to her pleasant demeanor. The General Manager was called over and to discuss and explained to us there was NO WAY to do that and we would go against policy and we had to go upstairs. I have two problems first of all sense when is it policy to not accommodate the customer? Last I checked without us you have no job! Secondly let's do some math: $300 x 30%= $90. Policy took $90 out of a servers pocket. I'm sure the food is good and our server would have been great, but I can't support a company that treats there customers that way and does not consider the importance of keeping them happy or the importance of their front line servers.

We sat upstairs, in the bar area of the restaurant. The bartender gave us the daily special menu and highly recommended a soft shell crab salad and a shrimp wrap. Two different entres. We ordered both. We were disappointed. The crab was rubbery and not edible, probably not fresh. The tortilla (or whatever material they used to wrap the wrap) was also stale and hard. The shrimp has no flavor. The air conditioning was too cold. We also watched three older ladies of color walk into the restaurant and it appeared as if the bartender was trying to get them to go somewhere else. They asked if they could sit down and he agreed, but he didn't seem nearly as welcoming to them as they were to my wife and me who did not match their appearance.

I had really been looking forward to trying this restaurant, but it was incredibly disappointing. Grilled salmon and scallops didn't taste as though they'd had any preparation. Very uninteresting. Filet was good, but not great, and other than charring it it's hard to mess those up. Even the kid's pizza was overdone, and burned along the crust. Crab cakes were fair. For about 1/2 the price, it would have been an adequate meal. For what it was, it was outrageously overpriced.
