Came in at 12:30pm for lunch on a Wednesday . No problems with the free parking lot and we were immediately seated. Ordered aome Fried Shrimp Balls, Crispy Shrimp Rice Rolls, Swet & Sour Pork, Ribeye Garlic & Veggies, Fish Fillet & Black Bean Sauce and Fried Rice. The fried shrimp balls were not good, the meat was off and the sauce was no good, however the Crispy Shrimp Rice Rolls were outstanding and very nice. The rest of the food were very solid and good. Service was solid, some orders were forgotten but generally fine. Atmosphere was good, not overally noisy and good for big groups and conversations. One order was forgoytten

We went for dinner. The food took a while to come out, but everything was hot and fresh. They brought you compliments soaked peanuts and pickles cabbage. It was a good start, cabbage was crunchy had a nice light sour taste from the vinegar. Peanuts soft and flavorful The Peking duck (4 out of 5) was delicious. Buns were very fluffy, the duck was moist and flavorful. Really good. Everything together was delicious highly recommend. Meat was very tender and mosit Prawns and pumpkin salted egg yolk (3.5 out of 5). The prawns were delicious. Huge prawns very well seasoned. The batter was really crispy. The dish is pretty oily as it was deep fried. Could only eat a few pieces as it was heavy. The pumpkin was really good too. As good dish to share with lots of people. I got tired of it pretty quickly. Satay broccoli beef chow fun (2 out of 5) was very wet. Not too much flavor and was a bit over cooked. Had a few small chunks of pineapple. Complimentary pineapple bun with custard filling (4 out of 5), delicious. Careful really hot custard, burnt my mouth a bit. But very delicious . Chewy fluffy sweet and savory

We were in the area for some business meetings that ended quite late. So, we looked around for a restaurant. My husband said he wanted to have dimsum. We tried this place. Wow! Their food is really good. Authentic, traditional, no nonsense well-prepared and presentable dishes. They did all the classics very very well. The service was friendly even if we did not speak any Chinese. They were polite but formal. We went away very satisfied. I’d go back when I’m in the area again!

Spacious restaurant with yummy authentic dim sum with extra oomph. The fish cheung fun with cilantro was superb, as were the seafood dumplings and soup dumplings. The char shiu puff pastry buttery and super light. The fried fish was delightful and the fried pumpkin with salted egg yolk original. The kai lan with oyster sauce cooked just right. Service was gracious and quick. Highly reccomend!

We picked this restaurant for a family reunion dinner. We used to come here for dim sum only but today we decided to try their dinner menu. We have had one of the best Chinese meal here. The dishes are packed with incredible flavor, and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. The food is consistently outstanding and full of authentic taste. Their roasted duck is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and served with tasted sauce. Lei Garden strikes the perfect balance between a refined dining experience and the comforting essence of home-cooked Chinese meals. While the service can be a bit slow at times, the amazing quality of the food more than makes up for it.

Lei Garden is the BEST DIM SUM restaurant in Bay Area and includes New York. I grew up eating dim sum in Hong Kong, so I am a picky eater, and I can tell the difference of authentic Chinese food or not. Lei Garden has the freshest and most delicious dim sum that I have eaten in America. I mean Authentic Dim Sum also. My husband and I lived in New York, Florida, and many States that also have dim sum restaurants. But we think Lei Garden has the best dim sum. Food came out very fast. We get seated very fast and the customer service is excellent. Owners and waiters are very friendly, and they work hard to make sure customers are well taken care of. This place is very clean. From now on, we will only eat dim sum in Lei Garden. Their dinner is also very tasty. I am so happy that I don’t need to fly back to Hong Kong to eat authentic tasty dim sum. We just need to drive to Lei Garden.

This was the best dim sum I’ve ever had. Everything was tasty and it was all very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back!

Come here for dim sum, but avoid dinner. My experience with this restaurant is quite mixed. I came here for dim sum and enjoyed it very much—the dim sum was pretty decent, and the service was satisfactory. However, when I returned for dinner another day, I was very disappointed.It felt like a completely different restaurant. On a Friday evening, the place was half empty, and the food was mediocre. The roast duck was barely warm. The most disappointing aspect was the service. We ordered steamed live fish, and as is customary in Cantonese restaurants, the staff should inform the customers of the fish's weight and show it to them before cooking. Our waiter forgot to do this, and we noticed him showing the fish to two other tables. When we inquired with the manager, we were told that because we didn’t ask to see the fish, they didn't notice us the fish weight and show it to us. Having grown up in China and frequented many Cantonese restaurants, I knew this was just an excuse for their oversight. A simple apology would have sufficed, but instead, the manager came over twice to educate us on how to tell if a steamed fish was live. I came to enjoy my dinner, not to attend a class on fish. I won’t be returning for dinner. Dim sum? May be.

I came with a party of 6 people on a weekend morning for dim sum. It wasn't terribly crowded when we arrived, but the crowds came in as soon as we sat. Waitstaff was very fast and efficient, though we did get rushed out at the end by some seemingly unhappy staff. We ordered an assortment of dim sum, but my favorite was the shrimp dumplings. Overall, I had a great experience and will be back for more dim sum!

This has been my dim sum go-to place for many years. Walked in on Saturday morning 11:30, able to get seated in 5 mins. The inside is clean, the fish tank needs more lives . Even with low expectations on service, still got negative experience -- really impatient to take orders on drinks. When I said we only need two water, the waitress took extra away with such a mean expression, which I thought I did favor for the restaurant for saving a glass. Also this round the fried chicken wings were disappointing -- the chicken tasted like old dish and the fried oil was too old as well. My son only ate one and rejected to take second one. The seafood porridge --- shrimp porridge, I hope there will more varieties on the seafood part. A little disappointed experience, hope the go-to dim-sum place can get its food quality consistency back.

This review comes from someone who lives in San Diego and does not have good dim sum so take that to account while I talk about how I love dim sum and there is not very many options in San Diego. Le garden is a staple of Cupertino and it's always crowded. It is always your fast pack service. It's not gonna be your high-end dim sum but it is going to be good quality for what you need and if you're in the area and you're looking for some good dim sum around then just grab a garden here and I think you'll really enjoy your experience We ordered way too much food and the Siu Mai is always packed with meat and shrimp. The dessert, red bean sticky was actually really good.

Visited on a busy weekend, even it's late lunch. We managed to get seated right away as we're only party of two. The dim sum was okay, except the steamed pork ribs were hard to eat and with too many bones. I had the worst soup dumplings ever, the giant dumpling was meh and the soup was mediocre.

This was a good dim sum place for the area. The food is better than some of the surrounding areas. The waiters seem to be a little more attentive than other areas as well. We had a table of 6. They didn't have any turn tables though so it was harder to reach for food that was on the other side of the table. Parking can also be scarce on weekend mornings. Overall ambience is like other Chinese restaurants. You order on a ticket so you get everything fresh. And they bring it out to you as together as possible.

Visited Lei Garden in Cupertino for lunch over the weekend. There was about a 10-minute wait for a table so not too bad. We ordered a variety of dishes and overall had a nice experience. Started the meal with some Jasmin tea which was flavorful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sautéed string beans in black bean sauce were excellent -- flavorful, nicely cooked, and probably my favorite dish of the meal. The shrimp dumplings were also great -- the shrimp was fresh with a thin, chewy wrapper that I really enjoyed. The shrimp rice roll was also another favourite dish from the meal. The rice roll was so smooth and melted in the mouth. I tried the Chu Chow-style diced pork and peanut dumplings and didn't like it as much particularly due to the texture of the dumpling skin. The veggie & pork tofu skin wrap in oyster sauce did not hit the spot as I didn't enjoy the texture of the dumpling skin as it was chewy to eat. Finished with an egg custard tart, which was okay but not particularly memorable. I wanted to try the custard buns but they were sold out by then.

We thought we would try dim sum here again even though the owners/chefs changed. I am really sad the food is just not as good as before. We had a party of 8 and we ordered all the usuals but only the sesame balls with red beans were good. Quite disappointed and 18% tip was added automatically with a bigger party.

Great place for dim sum! The servers speak English and their food comes out fresh and flavorful. I would definitely go back especially for their baked pork buns yummy. We ordered your typical dim sum dishes like har grow , Pan fried daikon radish cake, crispy baked pork buns, shrimp dumplings, shu Mai, dried scallop & pork sticky rice lotus leaf wrap. The ambiance was really nice too for a weekend dim sum! The people dining in seemed to be regulars. Happy I found a place to go to besides Koi Palace.

We came here on Sunday for lunch. There was little to no wait and we were seated relatively quickly. The aesthetic of the restaurant was nice and the ambiance was very lively. You order on by selecting what you want on a form and the food came relatively quickly. We ordered: - Shrimp Dumpling - Juicy and delicious and very flavorful, but the shrimp wouldn't stay inside inside the skin. - Pan Fried Stuffed Chili Pepper - Spicy and very flavorful and the stuffing was delicious with the slight spiciness of the pepper. - Cucumber Salad - Fresh and crunchy, but the flavoring of the salad was very subtle and limited - Deep Fried Crispy Milk - The breading was a little too thick (and a bit oily), but not very sweet, which made it a good combination when dipped in the super sweet condensed milk. Overall, we had a great time eating here and will definitely be back in the future to try other items on the menu!

Great food, fast service. They do close midday 3-5 pm just FYI... i didn't realize this when we walked in at 2:15/2:30... i felt bad after sitting. but they were still happy to accept us and served us very quickly. id say just about everything is good. there was five of us and we loved every dish we got. the one different thing that i've never seen anywhere else was the crispy shrimp look fun. this is basically shrimp fried with string phyllo dough and wrapped in the look fun. it was good in that it gave a different texture that just all mushy (but i love the mush). it was a little oily but soo good.

Lei Garden is my most favorite dim sum restaurant in the South Bay. You mark your orders directly onto a paper menu (it has pictures of most items) and the dishes are prepared made to order, which means mostly everything comes out together at the same time. This restaurant doesn't have staff pushing carts around for you to choose from. Although you don't get that traditional dim sum experience with the push carts and ladies yelling out their dishes I actually like that everything is freshly prepared. You have to wait a bit longer but the dishes come out steaming hot. The ambiance is what you might expect for a busy weekend brunch. On Saturday at noon there were several families waiting ahead of us and it took 15 mins for us to get a table. I didn't mind the table wait but the wait for food took longer than I expected, maybe 20 mins or so. As for food, I recommend the sticky rice, chives & shrimp dumplings, scallop & pea shoot dumplings, deep fried taro dumplings, baked char siu buns, deep fried taro dumplings, and the deep fried glutinous dumplings with pork. For 8 small dishes the total came to approximately $80, this includes added $2.50 per person for tea. They didn't automatically include gratuity for us like others had mentioned. Perhaps it's added for a large group (we had 3 people in our group). #25-04-05

Come early as there is typically a long wait on the weekends. We came on a Sunday at around 11:45AM and had to wait around 30 minutes for a table of 2. The food was average. Siu Mai is usually my go-to at dim sum places and this one didn't hit! The fried milk was unique though. I think I rather go elsewhere due to the wait.

Mother's Day weekend Saturday dinner, while a lot of restaurants are busy and full, this one still has some seatings and I could even call 30 mins before arrival to book a table for 6. We ordered half a set of banquet of 5 person with $338. Each dish was sumptuous and we even had left over after splitting them with 6 adults. Chicken with ginger sauce is a cold dish: I like the ginger sauce, flavorful. The BBQ combo dish is also a cold dish and it has seaweed, BBQ pork, roast duck and jelly fish: All are good. Walnut shrimp is decent. The XO sauce pork cheek stir-fry is flavorful. The steam fish is fresh and smooth, with silky flesh. The crab is my least favorite dish just because taking out the meat is so much trouble. The fish maw and tofu soup is ok, wish it's slightly more salty but overall loads of ingredients. For dessert, the restaurant gave us some baked buns and it's on the house. I think those are dim sum leftovers. Anyhow, we all loved the baked sesame buns. Service is a bit under-represented. For example, when the new dish was placed down, it almost swept away my plate while I was eating. I also have to ask for them to give us new plates while our own plates are piled up with bones and shells. They were also a bit slow in taking out the dirty dishes or helping us to make room for the new dishes by combining the half consumed dishes into one plate. However, when the waiter was helping us to distribute the soup to individual bowls, he paused to let me take a picture. Overall, my friends who had never visited this place enjoyed the food and wanted to revisit for dim sum. So I consider the dinner a good 4 star rating!

Came here for lunch on a Sunday. There were groups of people waiting outside to get seated. Luckily, a table for two had just opened up, so we were seated right away! We ordered so much food and everything was so good: salted fish (a little too salty) and chicken fried rice, chicken feet, roast duck, har gow, cucumber salad, and the custard bun. I wanted to order more because there was so much on the menu. I'll just have to come back! Also, we were so hungry that neither of us took photos the dishes haha.

The food is generally fine, but the service has slipped a bit since the change in ownership. On my visit, the tea I requested only arrived after I had reminded a few different servers. The dim sum was brought out quickly, though the way the plates were "dropped on the table close to my hand" felt a little rushed rather than friendly. Overall, the atmosphere didn't feel welcoming as hoped, so there is room for improvement in customer service.

Standard dim sum options. Most of the items were good, but nothing to write home about. We got the shrimp rice crepe, the Chinese donut rice crepe, XLB, SJB, BBQ pork pastry, Portuguese egg tart, and the lotus sticky rice. Service is prompt, and if you go at opening time, there is no wait.

Came here for dim sum with family. We got here soon after they opened, and got seated right away. We ordered some of the typical dim sum, but one thing that was unique was a red rice roll with fish filet. The wrapper was a bit on the thicker side, but I actually prefer that. The fish filet were thick enough where it didn't just fall apart. All that to say, it was yummy. Everything else was the typical dim sum goodness. The food came out fast, but not all at once which tells me that they were steaming them when ordered. Overall, a great dim sum experience, and I would definitely come again for dim sum.

I was recommended this restaurant by a Cantonese friend who says this is the best dim sum they tried in the South Bay! Food is so tender and delicious and freshly made, each dish was perfectly cooked & I have to say the dim sum here is the closest I've tried to Hong Kong. Plates are priced a bit in the higher side, but well worth the quality. Service is standard, we came in a pretty busy lunch hour. Ambiance is lovely, clean and tidy with a traditional Chinese aesthetic with a modern touch. Would definitely return when I have a craving for dim sum!

We tried Lei Garden for the first time on a weekend afternoon! We ordered their siu mai, har gow, fried Ham Sui Gok (Fried Glutinous Rice Dumplings), BBQ pork pastry, and fried shrimp wontons. We appreciate how the food all came out super hot! Some dim sum places will only serve some items hot, and some items are sometimes lukewarm or cold. The BBQ pork pastry was such a highlight for this meal! I cannot get over how good it tasted. I personally really enjoyed the milk powder flavor of the dough! We will come back for more! The fried shrimp wontons were also very hot and delicious!

The food was amazing here! We ordered a little bit of everything - a good variation of their dim sums, turnip cake, cucumbers, snow pea leaves (not in menu but offered if asked), fish congee, fried rice, beef balls, pork spare ribs, and finished off with egg tarts. If I had a favorite it was the fried tofu skin with shrimp and chives - delicious! The egg tarts could have been skipped. Service is where I kicked off a star. Maybe it was because we came almost around closing time, but it was not something to write home about. Ambiance is casual enough to bring young children.

As a Cantonese I've wanted to try the dim sum here for a while. We had a fairly decent lunch here a while back. This time I came for dim sum with a bunch of friends. In general I think all the dim sum dishes we ordered were pretty good, with 腸粉 being the most memorable. I was pleasantly surprised by the various 腸粉 flavors and I liked them all. The other dishes were also quite generous. 糯米雞 might be a bit lacking in terms of the ingredients. No one would say no to a 糯米雞 filled quite generously, but this one ain't it. The bill came out to be ok, $40-50 per adult. Normal Bay Area price. Service was good, a very typical Cantonese restaurant vibe. Some waiters don't speak Cantonese, but it's totally fine. Parking was plenty around the restaurant. Location is quite convenient (there's a 99 ranch nearby). I think this would be a safe option for us, in the sense that if our non-Cantonese friends ask for a dim sum place in South Bay, we won't feel bad recommending this place to them.

We came here our last day in California. We got there around 11:00am and it was packed. We thought it opened at 11 but it must've opened earlier. They have a good system to check in. You tell them your name and they write your name and how many in your party on a paper. Then they give you a number. When a table is ready for you, they call your number. It was our first time going there and it was very big inside. We got a table for six and were serviced right away. It was dim sum time so we got a lot of little dishes. We got chow mein, duck, green beans, steamed pork buns, har gau, egg tarts, look fun with char siu, potstickers, dried scallop and pork sticky rice, green onion pancake, and veggie and pork bean curd. My favorites were the chow mein and the steamed pork buns. The chow mein had thin noodles and had really good flavor. The steamed pork buns had char siu in it and it had a nice sweet crispy crust on the top of it. It was a nice complement to it. All of the food was very good and we all left very stuffed. We will definitely try to come to this place again next time

Solid 3.5 stars! The dim sum wasn't the best I've had, but it wasn't bad either. We ordered our usual favorites--shu mai, shrimp roll, BBQ baked buns, taro puff, glutinous pork, roast duck, steamed Jidori chicken, and honey walnut prawns (which could've used a bit more sauce). While nothing truly stood out, everything was decent. Service was okay, though there seemed to be a bit of a language barrier. I'd be interested in coming back for dinner to see how their other dishes compare!

Been going to this spot with the family for a few years now and it satisfies our palette whenever we're all in the mood for dim sum. My go to items are the shrimp rice roll, pork ribs in black bean sauce, Chinese broccoli, and stuffed eggplant in black bean sauce which all tasted great and hits the spot every time. I enjoy the menu variety and everything is presented and cooked perfectly. However, when it comes to service it's kind of a hit or miss--especially during the lunch rush. You'll be waving your hands up in the air trying to wave someone down to get noticed and fill up your teapot.

We come early to this place when visit my daughter. Got seat, drink was order. Menu was colorful and easy to read and put order in that paper menu. Food comes out quickly and delicious.

You had me at Dim Sum! Ordering is easy: you check off the dishes you want on a paper menu that has photos and prices! Food comes out fast and service is fast, though seating is sometimes not as fast (on weekends, there is usually a line, but I see that as a positive bec it means the food is good so I'm ok waiting). I love the traditional Chinese dim sum places, like Lei Garden, where they ask you what kind of tea you want when they seat you. It's so fun to choose! My favorite is Crysanthemum tea. Prices are a little high to me, but I think that's the going rate for good food in that area. I've been here several times and most dishes I've had are "hits", rather than "misses". My go-to dishes are: sticky rice in lotus leaves, shu mai, shaio long bao, tofu skin wrapped shrimp, cold cucumber salad, and sesame balls. (The ones I skip after trying are: all the rice rolls and the fried tofu skin dish.). The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated, so it's great for large parties. The waiting area is pretty small but there are a few chairs for elders. To Go orders have been pretty fast as well (I got a large order in 15 mins on a Sunday morning!) Lei Garden always hits the spot when I'm craving dim sum.

This place was hustling and bustling on a Saturday morning for dimsum, but it wasn't too crowded for we got seated immediately for a party of 4. Service was pretty straight forward like any other Chinese restaurant. They come and ask you which tea you want and at this location you mark what you want instead of grabbing from the carts. Overall, dimsum was okay! Not the best but not the worst. I think a lot of their food was under-salted like their Pan Fried Radish Cake (Lo Bat Gao). Nothing really stood out to me. I think prices are too expensive here vs. the quality. Overall, it's not a terrible place but there are much better options out there.

Overall the food is ok but the high price pulls down the overall experience. If I were to come back, I'd be very selective about what we pick. Things I marked as OK were largely cuz they were bland and lacked the flavor I expected. Pretty mid because when I go to a large dim sum place that isn't fancy, I expect cheap tasty food. Because this meal cost 50 dollars per person and the flavors weren't worth it, I can't recommend people go to Lei Garden unless you need dim sum immediately. We got seated, ordered, ate, and paid all within 40 minutes.

Rude Staff and Horrible Service: My friend gave me a $150 gift certificate from Lei Garden which expired in one month (she just bought from Lei garden). When my family went to have lunch and pay with the certificate, we were told that they don't give change (either in cash or in certificate). However, there is no place that tells us if this policy (nothing shown in the certificate or the merchandise cannot show any regulations in their side about this policy). They just said either you give up changes, or use the certificate next time. Since the certificate is expiring very soon, we have to use the certificate. The billing lady is very rude, not saying any sorry for lack of policy and just say: what I said now is the policy, you can only accept it and then refuse to talk to me. I told her that I will post review to yelp to state this fact, she said: up to you. I started to take photo, she started to call me a "mad woman". I am very surprised. This is how they treat their customers.

I used to live 5 min walk away from here, and I always see a line outside so I never really had the urge to try it out (but then our family would drive 10+ min to get dimsum at another place with long lines....so it doesn't really make sense). Anyway, I finally got the chance to try it out this year and I really liked it! Yes, it was a bit pricey compared the other dimsum places, but the quality was there. I enjoyed everything I had here. The tripe was the only one that was just okay though.

Terrible service. The All the dishes were brought out at once, and there wasn't enough space on the table. I had to hold the condiment tray in my hands to help the staff fit all the dishes on the table. Afterwards, I asked them to take the condiment tray away, but they said they couldn't. I asked, "Then how am I supposed to eat while holding this? Where am I supposed to put it? Maybe on the next table?" The server actually replied, "If you ask me, I can't do anything about it," and just walked away. The table was small, and they expected the customer to hold a full tray of condiments -- how is anyone supposed to eat like that? The service attitude was extremely poor.

Came in for lunch and it was not that busy but for some reason service seemed to be as if it was a full house that it took serious waving to get their attention. At one point frustrated I got up to service station to go get a dish for sauce. Oh then the lady who delivered our dim sum, I asked her to cut the Chinese Broccoli one more time especially the stem area. She didn't speak English so I gave her the cut sign (scissor) but she refused and server happened to walk by so I told him to ask her to cut it. If course then she did it but was rude about it as the cut pieces of the broccoli fell out of the plate. I then said are u upset but she ignored me. It was worse service ever! It's not first time we been here and I've seen how chaotic it can be during rush hour. I think with the bad service and wait I lost my appetite as everything didn't taste as good as I remembered. It was just average dim sum that is over priced these days. Cost has gone up to 8 to 13 per dish. Anyways I won't be coming back but I still gave you 3 stars for the food. Lastly when asking for tea pot refill make sure you tell them what it was because we started with Jasmine and it came back as oolong.

I love this restaurant, it is authentic, quick and serves amazingly delicious food. Select what you want and receive tasty dumplings, dishes and sides hot and flavorful. Come in a larger group to get lots on the menu and try everything!

We brought in friends for a gathering. We have the dinner at 6p on Wednesday. One standout was the Beef Short Ribs with Honey Pepper Sauce. The melt-in-your-mouth ribs, similar to sesame beef in their rich sweetness, were cooked to absolute perfection, boasting a satisfyingly deep-fried flavor and a hint of peppery bite. Another crowd-pleaser was the Peppered Lobster with Dried Shrimp. Plump chunks of lobster meat brimming with the warmth of pepper and the umami depth of dried shrimp. It was a seafood lover's dream come true! For a touch of vegetarian delight, we also ordered the Salted Egg Pumpkin and Prawn. The dish beautifully balanced flavors and textures. Crispy, lightly breaded pumpkin pieces danced with pops of juicy prawns, all enveloped in a subtle, addictive salted egg sauce. It was a light and satisfying combination that perfectly rounded out the meal. Overall, our dinner a resounding success. The delicious food, paired with the attentive service and vibrant atmosphere, created a truly memorable evening for all. We left feeling happy, well-fed, and already planning our next get-together at this hidden gem.

bay areaaaa dim sum!! we came on a sunday morning and they were busy, but were were seated quickly. you order off the paper menu by marking what dishes you would like, so don't expect dim sum carts :( we got our food pretty promptly after ordering. stand outs to me were salt and pepper tofu, sautéed string beans, fried radish cake, and siu mai a bit pricier than oc dim sum but when in the bay...

Had a terrible experience at Lei Garden. The chairs were ridiculously old, with the seat and legs separated. When I tried to pull the chair forward, my hand got stuck between the seat and the legs, and my fingers were crushed, turning purple and even breaking the skin. I told the host, and he just said, "Let me get you a band-aid?" Another server tried replacing the chairs, but both were broken as well. This happened before the food even came, and no one bothered to check on us until we left. Poor facilities and worse service attitude.

My kids and I enjoy eating dim sum here. However, I find their service meh, and they overcharge for tea. They charge by individual so they sneak in charging my kids tea at $2 each even though they don't drink tea so double check your bill. Yesterday, I had lunch with my son, and had hot water. They charged me $1.20 for hot water. In addition to that, they had a mandatory service charge of 15% on the bill for the two of us. There was no way of opting out of it. Restaurants in California are not allowed to charge service fees on top of menu prices. Senate Bill 478 (SB 478), which went into effect on July 1, 2024, requires restaurants to include all mandatory fees in the price of the item. Again, that is pretty shady of this place to do that.

Food is good and the service is pretty quick. Be aware that some fish dishes may contain bones -- the small kind. Also some soups may come as a broth. The things that were cooked in the soup come in a separate bowl.

Weird that they don't have the carts here but cool because you can just order it and not have to wait for 30 minutes for what you actually want to arrive! The food has always been good here, and you can tell the meat was all cleaned well prior to cooking! Servers aren't all friendly, but what else are you expecting? Hahaha.

At Lei Garden, you order off a menu and they don't have rolling carts. This is better for food safety concerns, but also results in over ordering. The food was good here and came out immediately after ordering. However, their prices are on the steep end. They charge $2.40 per person for tea which is a little absurd and they charged an 18% service fee for our party of 6. They tipped the tax so it was more like 20%. Their plates are much more expensive compared to other dim sum locations and the Ong Choy that we ordered off menu was $23. If you're looking for good food, I have to agree that the food is great, it's just not cost friendly compared to other places.

Went for dinner, pretty ordinary but overpriced. House pan fried noodles - a pretty unique dish and probably my favorite among the 3. Healthy and filling balance of meat, vegetables, and noodles. The noodles are soft at the top but crispy at the bottom! Spare ribs - too sweet and sticky for my teeth. Braised oyster and roast pork - this is a traditional Guangdong dish but would expect more flavors.. there's a lot of oyster in it though. After tax and tip it was ~$60 per person, and I don't think the food is worth the price and the service which we barely got.

Came here with my family and liked the food. Not spectacularly memorable, but very solid food. I'd come back with my family!

I probably would have rated Lei Garden 5 stars for taste but ultimately decided on 4 for the high bill. For 3 dishes the total bill after tax and tip was $101 which is a little steep considering there are other restaurants that have just as good Cantonese food for cheaper. I went here for the memories since this used to be Canton Delight way back in the 90s. We were given Jasmine Tea when seated but since it was late we were also able to ask for Chrysanthemum Tea since it's caffeine free. Pickled cabbage and boiled peanuts are appetizers given when seated as well. We ordered Shrimp Chow Fun with Scrambled Eggs, Abalone with Tofu and Mushroom sizzling plate, and Honey Walnut Prawns. All the food was delicious, but a little heavy on the oil. The Shrimp Chow Fun with Scrambled Eggs is covered in gravy so it's like a wet noodle dish. The Abalone was soft and tender, and the sizzling plate came out piping hot. The Honey Walnut Prawns were solid. I appreciated they also gave complimentary Egg Tarts for dessert, this was a nice surprise! 3 dishes was definitely more than enough food for 2 people, and I appreciate the familiar faces of the servers too. All in all a good experience, but it was definitely more costlier than I'd prefer to pay

I had dim sum lunch on a Wednesday in June with family members. The food is very good, as well as the service. The inside decor is fine. My only suggestion is to install brighter light bulbs in the women's restroom. It was very dim, as I had to adjust my eyes to the dark restroom.

What's not to love when you get all the dim sum your heart desires?? I never leave here unsatisfied & always look forward to my next lunch. So much better to get here around 11ish on the weekends. Parking & ur wait time will all depend on ur timing...but lunch service is always quick so that's never a prob ;-)

Found this on Reddit of all places. Came here TWICE in 1 week. Everything we had was delicious and you know it's authentic when there are hardly any white folks there at any given time. One of the few true dim sum places I've been to since Covid and most of them shut down in the area.

My boyfriend and I loved this restaurant! We definitely fulfilled our dim sum craving. Lei Garden is located in Cupertino and has it's own parking lot (there's plenty of parking). We got here on a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't super busy, but a decent crowd. Dishes aren't served on a cart, which I think is better. It's made to order, so they bring out the dishes hot and ready to eat. We ordered quite a few dishes ~ * salt and pepper tofu 5/5 * Crispy shrimp rice roll 5/5 * Dried scallop and pork sticky rice lotus leaf wrap 5/5 (did not have, but boyfriend liked it) * Deep fried shrimp ball 5/5 (cut in half and sweet/sour sauce on side) * Sautéed string bean w/ black bean sauce 5/5 * Braised beef offal 4/5 (did not have, but boyfriend didn't like the dark cuts of meat) * Pan fried noodle roll w/ XO sauce 5/5 (taste like chow fun with black bean sauce) * Black sesame mochi w/ peanut powder 5/5 We didn't get to finish four of the dishes, so we took it to-go. Best to eat it same day! Service was exceptional! Consistently refilling our glasses or removing finished plates. They charge tea per person, but we get free refills in the teapot. They have Jasmine or oolong for the options. We'd love to come back and try other dim sum dishes, maybe get a soup next time! I know more of the main entrees are a bit steep in price but if you're dining with a bigger group, it's not too bad.
