"Lei Garden hails from Hong Kong and specialises in traditional Cantonese fare. The décor feels festive and joyous. Most ingredients are sourced from their own farm to ensure quality and freshness. The signature roasted pork belly boasts alternate layers of fat and meat, with crispy skin and juicy flesh. Slow-cooked and double-boiled soups are also recommended. Sago and pomelo in mango purée is the perfect end to the meal." - Michelin Inspector

Expected lei garden to taste even better. Good: charsiew, paofan Average: chicken feet (a bit dry), black fungus, radish pastry, seafood curry beancurd (combi didn’t seem to go that well) Poor: dry beef horfun (noodles were too dry/hard and oily) Chrysanthemum tasted quite thick and complimentary ice were served. Service considered decent for a restaurant. Environment was spacious enough. Full house on a Sunday 1+pm afternoon. Overall maybe around 3.8 stars based on the price.

Some of the dim sum food was delicious. I think some of the best I ever had tbh A bit on the pricey side but its reasonable and worth the try. Staff was nice and respectful. Food came fast. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting hk to give it a try

Only a few pictures from my meal with 9 people. Favourite dish was Char Sui, the plate didn't last long enough for a proper pictures. Desserts were great, good selection for all. Good quality, still a little bit over priced

Dim sum at Lei Garden has never been disappointed. Everything we ordered are delicious. Staff is polite, too.

Google
Used to be one of the good restaurants of the Lei Garden group . A lot of the dishes couldn’t be ordered from the main menu but a certain dishes from a printed paper . Both the quality of food and the service has dropped .

Staff were kind enough to give us seating downstairs as we had elderly companions. Food is as usual when Lei Gardens but feel that the IFC branch seems to be better quality.

Still great food for a moderate price. The service is a hit or miss thing, I find.

Yelp
Every time I visit my cousin in Hong Kong, she and her husband always take me to this Lei Garden for dim sum. So I have been here many times over the years. This restaurant has two levels, decor is simple but comfortable. And since my cousin's family are regulars, service has always been excellent. They know which table is preferred and what kind of tea is their favorite. We usually have the standard dim sum items like Shrimp Dumplings, Siu Mai, Daikon Cake, BBQ pork, Roasted Pork Belly, BBQ Pork Buns, etc. Food is very consistent and of good quality. Prices are reasonable. It's a very reliable place to get dim sum!

Yelp
I am a regular at Lei Garden. I think they got a Michelin Star recently. Their dim sum is excellent! Price is above average but I think the quality and service can justify that. One thing is that if you get there late, like 1ish, they may run out of some of the items on the menu. I definitely recommend making a reservation as it's really popular, you may not get a table if you walk in, especially on the weekends. They have other locations at Wan Chai, Kowloon Bay, and a couple more. Check their website!

Yelp
Came here for Dim Sum. Well we were recommended by the people at our hotel. Plus my mom went to a Lei Garden, the last time she was in HK (which was 20 years ago). She said she remember the restaurant being good quality. Things sure changed. 20 years ago there was only one Lei Garden and now there are more than 1. So we went to this one at Sai Yee Street and yes its not the same restaurant that my mom went to. So of course my mom asked if this was the same as the one at Peninsula Bay Hotel, the hostess said yes. We were relief, we came to the right restaurant. To our surprises different Lei Garden at different location have different pricing. Not all Lei Garden are priced the same. This one is quite reasonable. Quality of the dim sum is fresh and delicious. Decor is clean. The fish tank is super clean. You don't see dirty water stain in the fish tank. This is a two floor restaurant. Everything inside the restaurant looks great except with one exception, the washroom. Yes the washroom is very run down looking. The restaurant looks like a high end restaurant but with how the washroom is looking, it drops to a regular restaurant but at the higher end. I do recommend coming here for dim sum. I mean I do enjoy my dining experience here. Service is Good.

Yelp
we came here for the michelin star dim sum, but to our disappointment dim sum was over by the time we got here. So we just tried their regular menu. The cucumber salad was refreshing and good. The lotus, mushroom soup is so flavorful and satisfying. The star dish was the duck with the buns and plum sauce. They separated the meat and skin for you. The skin is crunchy not overly oily and so very delicious here. This is the best duck I've ever had.

Yelp
Right off the bat, let's make something clear: This restaurant boast itself of having a Michelin star. Because of this, the bars are standing higher. I was torn. Some of the food was average, but the lobster and rice soup was beyond godly. The decor was great and the place was squeaky clean with European toilets. But, the service was atrocious. The lady was looking fed up with us from the start. Plus, she made no effort to try too communicate with us. The street vendors gave me better service. Because we had trouble, someone from an other table helped us. She recommended item that were not on the menu. (Not very outsiders friendly...) that ended up being the best. Also, this restaurant features several shark fin soup. I don't know how I feel about that. Bad? Sad? It's sure wrong... In the grand scheme of things. It's a good place, you won't get the biggest bang for your buck. But it's pretty good. Please order the lobster and rice soup!!!(See picture for Chinese name)

Yelp
OG original lei garden -- small size. still strong but not the absolute top in a city for dim sum with so much choice and competition. however, still get solid meals here including dim sum. fond memories as this chain kicked off my HK dining adventures. usually always have the ideal roast pork crispy skin here. still coming here for regular meals both lunch and dinner, but dinner selection sometimes missing the top items like wagyu beef. sweet and sour pork more breaded style.

Yelp
We ordered lobster yee mien, scallop dish, braised pork belly with mini bread rolls (man tou) and a couple side dishes. The side dishes were solid (wood ear and jellyfish) the lobster was so bad... tasted like stinky armpit and not fresh at all. It's when I understood what it tastes like to eat old dead leftover lobster that wasn't supposed to sell. The noodles didn't have much flavor and only tasted remnants of the stinky armpit lobster. The scallops ... didn't taste fresh. Pork belly... 7/10. I was so excited bc our hotel mentioned it was Michelin recommended but we paid almost $1730HK ($225usd) for old seafood. So sad Another thing is, we gave an extra 10% tip not knowingly they automatically had already added another extra 10% before that. I didn't realize til we got back. The lady was just standing there watching us sign the check while we filled out the tip section. She should've at least informed us of the mandatory service charge. I just learned it's not even customary to tip in hk at restaurants. I still will sometimes if I feel like it but I will really look at the bill first!! I won't be back, thanks for the chance, Lei garden !

Yelp
Delicious dim sum with reasonable price. Huge variety. Takes reservations. They even have thousand year old eggs with ginger. Great steamed dumplings. Major plus they give you a pack of tissue! Only area of improvement is the thousand layer cake where the egg layer could be a bit thicker and sweeter.

Yelp
Upscale environment and high pricing for dim sum. We as gringos experienced poor treatment - assigned horrible table despite month-in-advance reservation and treated with disdain. Food taste was ordinary, but at least they use somewhat higher quality ingredients. In the end - not worth coming back. If you want to try out a Lei Garden I suggest you just walk in at the Sha Tin mall location...

Yelp
This is restaurant is popular w/ locals, and a place to try if you'd like a "real" Chinese food experience. Most of the wait staff did not speak English, so it wasn't easy to communicate what we wanted. We were there on very busy Chinese New Year's Eve, and were the only Caucasians in the restaurant. Not a bad thing as we were seeking a "local" experience. Mid-price range: w/out alcohol, our bill came to HKD470 ($60 USD), which included one-half Peking duck. Food was tasty, but nothing really special, although duck was prepared well I was told (I'm just not a big fan). Would I return? Probably not as too many other choices in Hong Kong.
