The Best Food at Rate Field, Home of the Chicago White Sox | Eater Chicago

"Positioned as the stadium’s craft-beer showcase, the lounge is part of a much larger beer program that now offers more than 50 beers from about 30 breweries; it will carry a rotating set of new brews for 2025 and serves as one of several places where recently introduced beers (and entrants like Yuengling and Sapporo) are available throughout the ballpark." - Ashok Selvam

The leinie lodge was so fun! We stopped in on a Saturday and were able to get in for a tour. Our tour guide was so nice and knowledgeable she was wonderful! We enjoyed the beer garden afterwards and tasted some pilot beers. I had the pomegranate shandy and it was delicious!

Google
While they are not using the original brewery, Leinenkugel's in Chippewa Falls is still open, giving tours, and serving great beer! They are doing some amazing things in the Pilot Brewery in the Lodge, and the Barrel Yard in Milwaukee. At the Lodge, they have the typical Leinenkugel brews, PLUS the brews they are making in the Pilot Brewery and the Barrel Yard. I had an excellent Maibock (Helles) today while Kris and Pat enjoyed the Bourbon Old Fashion and Sandy had the Grapefruit Shandy. I can also recommend the Barrelman Ale, Dry Hopped Pilsner, Big Eddy Imperial Stout, Octoberfest, Northwoods Amber, Dark Lager, Tropical Hazy IPA, Northwoods Amber and Lakeside Cherry.#Linenkugels. #leininkugels, #leinielodge, #barrelyard

Google
Great spot to experience some of Leinenkugel’s many beers and merch. You also get to taste up to 5 beers after a tour of the brewery, so that’s nice. The food options could be improved for a longer stay instead of leaving the Lodge. Other than that, a really cool place to visit.

Google
This was a cool place to visit. Seating and atmosphere was awesome. Being from Texas it was cool to see how some places are trying to mimic this concept. The decor and history all around the building was so nice. The multiple choices of beer leaves you wanting to buy more flights. Be careful though there is not food served here so flight two might take you over the limit if you have no food in your stomach. Would have enjoyed the beer tour but I had kids and other people with me. For your family that cannot consume gluten they have options for them to enjoy while enjoy all the beer flavors and mixes.

Google
Stopped on our way through town. Tried the pilot beers, walked to heritage circle, read the history along the back wall inside the visitors center. Was a fun experience, would go back.

Google
Really awesome lodge with a large, rotating tap of delicious Leinenkugel beers! The vibe inside the lodge is fun while still feeling cozy. Plus they have a ton of cool merch for sale. I could definitely spend a long time just looking through their merch to be honest 😂 I thought it was all really fun! I liked the stout I tried and the staff here were pretty nice. They also offer tours so I would love to come back for a tour and hang out at the lodge afterwards. I definitely recommend checking out Leinie Lodge if you’re in the area!

Ashley

Google
Such a great place to check out! We didn't have time for the tour but the beer, pretzels and gift shop were awesome! We were excited the Trolley food truck was there and tried the mac n cheese with pulled pork and the nachos. Both were delicious!

Analise Hiltner

Google
NANA IS AWESOME! Best tour guide for sure! My boyfriend and I were the only two signed up for a tour of the brewery and she gave us so much cool insight and facts about the history of Leinenkugels. 10/10 impulse trip I hope Nana always has the best days, you rock!

Jane A.

Yelp
The tour is very informative and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are clean and nicely decorated. We really liked trying the different beers after our tour. The gift store has lots of Leinie memorabilia.

Jeff T.

Yelp
Everyone was so friendly, great beers and the lodge was so inviting. The tour was educational and Bridget was the best. Highly recommend going. Prices are very reasonable.

Lori F.

Yelp
Our tour guide Hailey was amazing! Loved the tour and the place was amazing! We sampled many varieties and we all had favorites!

Yelp
Wow what a sick place! Traveling through Chippewa Falls and what a better place than this to stop for a couple pints :) Obviously tried the $5 happy hour pints! I love a light and refreshing beer, so the brewology mix was right up my ally! The cherry lemonade with their red berry and summer shandy was actually one of the best things I've tried! Will be making those all summer. The fuzzy bear was a close second with a mix of their honey and berry Weiss. Not too sweet. The bartender was helpful in suggesting which brewology to choose and did so with a smile! Great place!

Yelp
By far one of the best brewery tours I've ever taken. Leinie Lodge is beautiful and so laid back. The staff is fantastic, so many beers to choose from and their store has t shirts, koozie, and tons of other items. Plus great prices Say Hi to Matt!!

Yelp
Tour was outstanding and beer was great in the lodge. You get 4 beer tickets to sample beer in the lodge either if you want to before or after the tour. This tour was very informative and interesting. Me and my friend loved it. I highly recommend stopping here and going on the tour and checking out all the nice tee shirts hats and other souvenirs they have in the lodge. This tour easy to do for all ages.

Yelp
A must-stop if you find yourself in Chippewa Falls or Eau Claire! We attended the 4pm brewery tour, and it was quite extensive and well done! We went inside the brewery (pro tip: if you go in the summer wear short sleeves because it's HOT in the brewery) and saw where and how the beer is made, the bottling factory, and the current flavors they are producing! A fun fact is that all their brewing equipment was made in Germany. Afterwards you get 4 tasting tickets to try any 4 beers of your choice! My favorite was the grapefruit shandy and the Strawberry Hefeweizen they have currently in their test brewery! They have a ton of great merch so of course I also had to pick myself up a shandy T-shirt! Great time!

Dale S.

Yelp
Wonderful brewery tour, great to hear the 157 years of business with lots of family history. Very friendly staff.
google avatar

Jonathan N.

Yelp
Turns out Leine was bought out by Miller so the beers brewerd here might have the same name but won't be the same as what you buy at the store
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Great offerings of beers on the tour - beautiful facility that is very well maintained. Very friendly staff that's knowledgeable and helpful! Absolutely loved the Libeerty Shandy - please take that to market next summer!!! We'd also love having Dunkle back!

Yelp
Driving from MN to see family in WI we had to stop at the Leinie Lodge "Inspired by Jacob Leinenkugel's cabin, the Lodge is a space for guests to enjoy great company and delicious beer." You can even take a brewery tour to get the behind a scenes look! There are 5 tour options to choose from ranging from 1-1.5 hours Beer is on point, the patio is really nice, and the employees are friendly. What more could you ask for?! This will become tradition to stop here moving forward!

Yelp
This place was packed on a late September Saturday. Some people, like us, were there to do a full tour, while others were just enjoying a drink. There were also many high school seniors dressed up to take photographs outside and indoors--this is quite the local landmark. The lodge itself is large, containing an extensive bar, sitting area, merchandise shop, and patio. A short walk across the bridge is the actual brewery. Our tour guide was great. We were never bored on the hour-plus tour as we learned about Leinenkugel family history, local history and the evolution of the brewery, and the science of beer making. The tour was family friendly, as there were several kids along. The adult tour price includes tickets for flight-sized beers back at the lodge, which can be redeemed before or after the tour. I'm not a big beer fan, but I really enjoyed myself here.

Yelp
Your quintessential tourist brewery. I only ever knew them for their shandy but their lagers are actually very good. Definitely get the peach beer if they have it. They offer a lot of tours and their taproom is a glorified gift shop. The service was excellent and if we're in the area I would 100% stop in again. The taproom isn't dog friendly and can get pretty crowded but their patio is spacious and pups are welcome.
google avatar

Darlene H.

Yelp
The tour was fun and informative. Paul, our tour guide, was the absolute best. He answered all all of our questions. We've been to different brewery tours and this was the best yet. We'll come back.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
It was a great time! Everyone was so nice and friendly! Elaine our tour guide was informative and friendly, we would recommend the Leinie Lodge experience to all of our friends.
google avatar

Troy S.

Yelp
The lodge is a neat space. It's all about selling merch and beer, but it is a business and a brewery after all. Tours used to be free with free beer, but Coors Molson wants every penny. That's too bad. It is the 7th oldest operating brewery in the US. The brewery is beautiful and it's a great tour. The beer is decent for macro beer.

Yelp
Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing( Leinie Lodge is the name of the tasting room of theirs here )have had in the past but it was considerable amount of time that has passed since I had their beer so I figured it was time for a refresher. When I think about this brewery Shandy and sweet Berliner Weisse style beers pop into my head but they make other beer styles as well like IPA'S , Spritzens, Bocks and Helles style beers as well. I went with what I normally associate with them on and got a Berry Weiss. Specifically it was a raspberry and blackberry flavor so it did indeed came in sweet. The beer was pretty good. Just slightly passed "too sweet" but not bad.The tartness and the light body of the beer made it very manageable and drinkable. With a low ABV and not being too overwhelming in any particular way it would be easy to have a few if your mind was set towards doing so.

Erik L.

Yelp
Interesting tour and the lodge is great! Plenty of samples with paid tour. Also a lot of beer options that aren't available at retail stores.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Leinenkugel's for a long time and this was a bucket list stop. What a fun place! We had a great tour guide, Hannah. The inside of the lodge is a great place to hang out and try some amazing beers. The pretzels and the "spicy" mustard are a must do, to go along with your beer sampling. Everyone here seems to enjoy their jobs and gave great service. I look forward to going back soon!

Scott T.

Yelp
Love this place. A money pit but worth it if you are a fan of the brand. Great tap room with massive selection of merchandise (quality stuff). Tours are available. Highly recommended!

Brian V.

Yelp
Awesome tour guide and tour. I this place is a must for any beer enthusiast. And the beer is delicious . Next time we will go mon- thurs during production time

Yelp
Being a Summer Shandy officiando all summer long, I was excited to check out the home of my favorite warm weather staple! Easy to find, with plenty of lot parking, the outside of the space screams lodge! Upon entry, it kind of feels like a massive gift shop with everything you can imagine Leinenkugels branded. Upon further investigation, you find a large bar and plenty of seating options. We loved how it was decorated for the holiday season! Service was extraordinary and the beers were only $5 a piece! While you can find your favorite Leinie classics, the taproom also has some other exclusives to try! Where the Leinie Lodge stands out is it's Brewology mixes. They have a curated list of different mixtures of their various beers, which gives you access to another myriad of choices! Try one or a flight...you can't go wrong! Such a fun stop on our road trip to Milwaukee from the Cities! Will probably stop again when the weather is a bit warmer and we can enjoy some of the outdoor seating!

Amanda P.

Yelp
We made pit stop here before heading over to the Twin Cities. The tour was very historic. Was neat to hear the history behind the beer. Everyone was super friendly and nice. From check-in for the tours, to getting beer/ food. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable in the history of the lodge and family. The staff take great pride in the grounds and the history. Was a great experience.

Yelp
What a fun place! Leinenkugel beer is always fantastic. They are widely distributed so we drink it in AZ but this is my first time enjoying it at the actual brewery. The tasting room is very nice and Chipawa Falls is a beautiful spot. So many trees, the river, and the hills. Didn't take the tour due to timing but that's okay. We had a great time enjoying some beer with family. We had a tasting flight of the juicy peach, hefeweiss, fresh hop red, Jacob spring, canoodler, and bumble bee. Then I enjoyed a pint of lemon haze IPA mixed with juice peach. So tasty and $5/pint is a deal. We had a coupon for buy one, get one so even better deal. But I made up for that savings in the merch area. They have really cute stuff!

Glenn M.

Yelp
We stopped in to pick up our bands for the Century Ride. It is a nice place to have a pint and you can get flights, also. Large gift shop and nice taproom.
google avatar

Eli T.

Yelp
While traveling through the area I came across the Leinster lodge. Having visited all the other major breweries located in the Midwest I had to visit this place. I took the tour which was very informational and fun. Sampled a bunch of different beers of Leinenkugel that I had never had previously and met some other like minded folks. Great experience, fun gift shop and friendly staff. Must visit for beer lovers!

Yelp
Very enjoyable stop. Good beers and pleasant workers . I would definitely come back the next time I am going through western Wisconsin.

Yelp
The pretzels are just soft and perfect either the cheese or my favorite hot mustard, made right down the road in Eau Claire. The beer is cold and I've never had to suffer a dry visit. There are plenty of seating and the bar is long. The lodge motif is carried throughout. Add the friendly and helpful servers and staff, this is a bucket list stop every time I'm within 60 miles. They even have a special treat if you happen to visit on your birthday (worth it)!!

Carl T.

Yelp
I have been to the Lodge many times, but took the brewery tour for the first time yesterday. It was great. Our guide, Macy was fun and very knowledgeable. She even suggested a great place to have lunch afterwards. We were also able to enjoy some great beer.

Carolyn K.

Yelp
Loved the tour, our tour guide Paul, and the lounge. Beer options are delicious. Highly recommend Lakeside Cherry or one of the many Lemonade mixes created with the beer varieties. Best brewery tour we've taken!

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for years, and alas, we finally had the opportunity to visit Chippewa Falls and the birthplace of Leinenkugel's beer. While I still like their beer, the Leinie Lodge is a bit underwhelming. Yes, they have nice seating and overall ambiance, but I was disappointed at the drink selection: I thought they would have all of their beers on tap, but the two I wanted were not offered. The store itself is just so/so, it's fairly large and has a nice museum, but the gear was fairly unappealing. This was an ok experience, but probably not worth a long trip either.

Thomas T.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. Always meet new people. We attended a Leinie's Pilot Night in the microbrewery which included tastings of new products and discussions. Very informative, and as always, excellent customer service. This is a destination site for people from all over.
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
The Lodge offers tours to the brewery, beers, flights, lots of merchandise, clean bathrooms, historic displays, outdoor seating on the patio. They do not offer food here other than food trucks.

Ken H.

Yelp
All of the employees at the brewery go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's fun to share my love of beer with kindred spirits. (Michelle), Lynn, Matt, and the two women working pouring beer that afternoon. Were just absolutely joyed to deal with. I make it a point to return for the tour because it seems like I always learned something new. Thanks to (Michelle), my tour guide, this trip was no exception.

Thomas M.

Yelp
It was a great experience. The option to taste beers and selzer that are not on the market was very special.
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
I have been a fan of Leinie's for years and years and have always wanted to make a stop at the lodge in Chippewa. This past week we finally were able to! The service is great, beers are a good price and the live music is the best. The inside is pleasing to look at and feels clean and cabin like. They have food trucks at times and if not, the cheese for the pretzels inside is delicious! They rotate the beers for the seasons, so it is nice to always try new ones. Definitely a must stop if are in the area!

Charlene L.

Yelp
Ambience at Leinie Lodge is great! Tour was excellent and educational. The samples that are included with the tour is an added bonus. All staff was friendly.

Lisa L.

Yelp
Loved our tour of the brewery. Matt was an amazing guide. We loved the lodge and enjoyed our beers. Very fun to see. Ambiance was even better than what we were expecting. Excellent customer service.

Tom O.

Yelp
the place was fun and clean. we got to sample a few different flavors of beer. the gift shop was very expensive though.

Ivan V.

Yelp
It's Fun but quiet boring tour, my question is I am not sure if they are really people working inside of the main facility or is used to storage beers only. However, if they invest little bit more, they can bring more tourist, since it's the same set up every-year.
google avatar

Belinda M.

Yelp
Jen was very knowledgeable and friendly and answered everyone's questions. The brewery is very interesting and a nice blend of old and new. And the tasting at the lodge was unhurried and you have a nice gift shop

Janet F.

Yelp
Fun tour and beer was delightful. The lodge is very nice and staff is knowledgeable about their product. We took the one hour tour seeing the production and learning some history. Worth the time.

Paul H.

Yelp
My wife and I did a tour at the Leinie Lodge on Friday September 29th. Our tour guide was none other than 6th generation Matt Leinenkugel. He was very passionate, knowledgeable and very personable throughout the 1 1 /2 hour tour . He went out of his way to make our tour group feel welcome and make us feel that he really loved what he was doing. The special treatment we received actually trying to decipher what aromas various beers had was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who had an interest in learning new things.

A K.

Yelp
We have talked about making a stop at the Lodge for many years. Leinenkugels Berryweiss is one of wife's absolute favorite beers! We stopped by on a Thursday afternoon to check it out. We were greeted by the amazing and helpful Joselyn who explained to us how everything worked. She was so helpful and an absolute joy! We were there in time for happy hour, which is a great deal, half price pints! It is a great place to sample the beers and check out all the merchandise. Our only complaints were the lack of some specific merch (Berryweiss) and the prices of merchandise. The quality was very good but the prices really high. Also, other than pretzels (the big soft Bavarian style) food was not available. Once again, the amazing Joselyn came to our rescue and suggested a nearby place (in walking distance) and we were able to order a delicious meal and eat while sampling our beers. Check this place out, especially if you are a fan of Leinenkugels!

Yelp
Cool experience. Great atmosphere. They have tours going and a gift shop. Gift shop is overpriced. Wish they'd also let you still take your glass with you....

Carol M.

Yelp
Very friendly, clean. Great beers to try. Plenty to chose from shopping wise. Happy there is more tables to sit at.

Tammy R.

Yelp
Every thing about our tour was great. The Lodge and the beer tasting to our fantastic tour guide Barbi. Such a fun and informative time. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Leinie Lodge is such a fun experience in Chippewa Falls! $25 for 2 flights of 6, 5 oz pours of all their available offerings. Soft pretzels available for $5, w/cheese. Everyone working was so sweet, and I got a gift for signing up for rewards.

Yelp
Fantastic ! Spacious rv parking . Park your class C rv in the lot and come in ... Great brewery tour as well . Thank you
