These San Francisco Brunch Menus Star Syrinki, or Russian Pancakes | Eater SF

"I discovered that the year-old Lele Cake in Los Gatos, run by Elena Leskina, added a classic oval, pan-fried version of syrniki after customers saw her make them on social media; she uses the freshest farmer’s cheese she can find with wheat flour, salt, and eggs, finishes them with a raspberry coulis and a generous heap of sour cream whipped with cream for extra airiness, and found that what began as an Eastern European favorite quickly won over newcomers who initially call them “so small” but then admit they’re unexpectedly filling." - Flora Tsapovsky

The cafe is located in a picturesque area surrounded by mountains. I had the canelé and it was custardy and perfectly caramelized! Really bustling at 1130 am on a Thursday, with a very cozy, pretty and festive atmosphere. Some people are working here with coffee and light snacks, and others are having a full meal with others like a restaurant. I'll be coming back if I'm in the area!

Great cafe/bakery with indoor and limited outdoor seating. Service was very good. We tried an array of items, including bakery items as well as cooked to order entrees like the pancakes, shakshouka, salmon, and the turkey sandwich. All were very good.

The prices of the drinks and cakes aren't the most expensive but they are pretty steep for the quality. Don't get me wrong; they have some interesting offerings and I think some coffees are reasonably priced for the bay area. The interior is spacious and there are tables outside as well. We came on a hot day and I think you can tell from the pics that this place is mid in terms of ventilation. The girl who took our order was friendly but it did take awhile to find anyone to take our order. But my drink was made in a very speedy fashion. There is also water available for the taking, self-pour.

We ordered the Basque Ube Cheesecake online and arranged for a pick up at 11:00 am. We called in around 9 am and they mentioned the cake was prepared and ready for pick up. Upon arriving the cafe, parking was immediately available, front and center. As always, the cafe was packed with people enjoying their brunch. I didn’t wait long in front of the register as I was called up for help swiftly. The cake was beautifully packaged and I was immediately impressed with its presentation. We were surprised with a parade of blueberries on top. The cookie with a message on top was a beautiful touch. Not only did the cake look good, it was delicious. The ube cream cheese was very creamy. The ube yam was legit. No powdery hints of fake flavoring. The burnt notes were magical. Blue berries was a flavorful surprise and brought the whole bite together. “Its not too sweet” fluttered the room and was the biggest compliment amongst folks who were watching their sugar intake. This was the best birthday cake I ever had. Low key, not too extravagant and very classy! Looking forward to the next one!

Whenever I’m in this part of the Bay Area, I always make a point to stop by LeLe Cafe for an amazing brunch. The food is always delicious, and the place is clean and comfortable.

I visited this cozy coffee shop today with my friend and absolutely loved the experience! I had a cappuccino and syrniki — both were delicious. The cappuccino was perfectly balanced with smooth foam and rich coffee flavor. The syrniki were soft, warm (maybe a little bit sweeter than I expected) , and served with tasty toppings that made them extra special. We sat outside and really enjoyed our time at this small and cozy coffee spot. Thanks to all staff for your efforts! 👍

Google
I like this cozy little place even though it gets super packed on the weekends. The food is great, the coffee is good and pastries are tasty. However, what i don't like is that the portions seem to get smaller and smaller every time we come back. We ordered 3 dishes and 2 drinks for 2 people which came out to $80 + a tip, but the amount of food we got left us almost hungry. The bathroom also needs some dusting. I also don't like the fact that they don't have a dedicated area for food that's coming, they put it on a counter where they take orders at the sane time and call your name. This is not sanitary and inconvenient, I'd rather they brought the food to a table or put it in a dedicated space and clearly call your name, or give a buzzer.

Google
Friendly local Russian (and pro-Ukraine 🥰) cafe in a quiet Los Gatos neighborhood is serving a variety of coffees, espresso, and lattes. The pastries and small plates that they had here were amazing. Come here if you’re looking for some good coffee, and amazing neighborhood, and just a quiet place to enjoy coffee and food with your friends. I highly recommend The cheesecakes with sour cream. Many of the small dishes they have here are Russian, which was very new for me. I was so impressed with the flavor of everything. The little cheese cakes were amazing. They are kind of like Colombian arepas, but they have much more moisture and you dip them in sour cream. So amazing. We also tried a BeloRussian waffle which which was basically a fried waffle made out of potatoes. So amazing. The services is very friendly and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is easy to find and it’s free. I think this place would be really good to come both on the weekend to enjoy with your friends, or on a quiet weekday. You can come here when it’s less busy and sit outdoors, enjoy a great coffee, and have a few snacks. The breakfast here was just out of this world. If you’re looking for a friendly bakery, and you wanted to try some Russian food and some good coffee – this is a great place to check out. We were really impressed with everything

Yelp
I visited Lele Cake with my son this past Saturday, and we absolutely fell in love with this place. The moment you walk in, it feels like an intimate, elegant French-style bakery -- classy, warm, and so inviting. The ambience alone makes you want to linger, but the food and coffee make it even better. Everything we tried tasted incredibly fresh and high-quality. You can tell they use great ingredients and make everything with care. We ordered the salmon and cream cheese crepe, a brown sugar miso latte, and my son had the chocolate éclair. All of it was delicious -- balanced, flavorful, and beautifully presented. This spot is perfect whether you're craving a sugary treat, something savory, or just a really good coffee. It's become one of my absolute favorite cafés to treat myself. Yes, it's a bit on the pricier side, but honestly worth every penny for the quality and experience. A total gem in the area. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Gruyer Waffles with Sundried Tomatoes and Soft Egg 【格鲁耶尔奶酪华夫饼】 将擦成碎屑的瑞士半硬质牛奶酪Gruyère,与华夫饼面糊混合后,一同压烤,奶酪脆壳焦黄酥香、内心软糯,不干不噎,松弛又不失筋道 华夫饼0调味,纯靠油渍小番茄来提供惊喜,小番茄颗颗爆汁,咸度和油感都比较收敛,着重强调了天然的酸甜,幼嫩的香菜苗作为点缀,时不时地散发出淡淡的辛香,增添了更多风味 不过,这颗冰冷的全熟水煮蛋是什么操作???还以为至少能是溏心的...

Yelp
Delicious food & cozy ambiance! Whether you want to have a solo cafe day, brunch with the girlies, or a cute day with your partner, lele cake is such a cute place to chill at! I love the cute pastries they have on display in the front which I have yet to try. But I LOVE their smoked salmon here & I highly recommend this place for upscale brunch & drinks! The glass cups add such a nice flair too

Yelp
Stopped in for a cup of coffee and a crepe with salmon. Coffee was spectacular. But wasn't crazy about the $18 crepe with some blah salmon. I've never in my (yelp) life had such an expensive crepe. The crepe itself was meh...nothing special...just a single, normal crepe piled on the plate with a few pieces of cold, tasteless salmon, a drop of sour creme and these huge caper berries that I had to lift with my hand to eat. Better to use some small capers. All that for $18 is insane!! And the restaurant t is "off the beaten path." If it were in Santana Row, I can see $18 justified (maybe).

Yelp
There is seating inside and a bit outside . I tried a seasonal drink - the brown sugar miso latte and matcha drinks . I recommend if you are willing to try a new type of coffee with a mild miso flavor . The service was fast and friendly . They have whole cheesecakes if you need to buy for a party . I also ordered the syrniki with berries which is delicious .

Yelp
We arrived right when they opened this morning. The bakery cases were all full and looked delicious. We ordered the Gruyère waffles, power bowl, Shakshuka, an Ube latte, regular latte, and two pastries. Service was excellent as usual. They did not have the onion marmalade for the waffles so I chose avocado to go with it. It was delicious. The shashuka was hot and spicy. Very good! My husband enjoyed the power bowl. The lattes were very good. We both enjoyed the lime basil tart and the medovik. Leek cakes is a true gem. The inside is set up so cute with plenty of seating options. Silverware and cold water are self serve. You have to bus your own table which I'm okay with. The food here is unique and wonderful. They always have such a nice presentation with their dishes. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Major shrinkflation on the drinks. You can see how in my 1st review the photo of my cappuccino is appropriately sized. Not today. Today mine was tiny, just a few sips. Raise the prices more if you must, but please don't skimp. Cappuccino was so-so. Way too milky. Yogurt parfait: the granola was rock hard & gross. I crunched something hard on the granola. I have no idea what it was. The berries tasted bitter and they put just a little bit of yogurt so basically the yogurt didn't cover it and it was just mostly granola with bitter berries, lol. Truthfully, I have had way better at home. I get good granola from Whole Foods and berries and Greek yogurt. Even my homemade granola surpasses this and I don't do much. Why did I waste $14 on this, which was over $20 for a cappuccino and yogurt parfait. It's mostly high school/college kids working there. So I keep that in mind. It's not their fault. The server gave me a little bit of yogurt, which I appreciated hence the other star. Nevertheless, I keep working class families in mind and their hard-earned dollars are better spent elsewhere. I don't mind paying top dollar but this is ridiculous.

Yelp
- 4.6: The Canele is quite good. It's traditional style. - 3.5: Gibraltar espresso. - 3.5: Syrniki. These are russian cheese pancakes. The outside is nicely browned, but the inside is a little boring. - 2.0: Black currant Macaron; Too sweet for me. They are the soft style; the biscuits are soft and moist; there is no starchy almond chew.

Yelp
My photos got accidentally deleted from my previous review; adding them here! Also a note that I've returned to Lele Cake since my review and it's still an exceptional 5/5!
google avatar

Amy N.

Yelp
It was super crowded when we were there, and we just got coffees, which were TINY and kind of expensive for how small they were. The staff seemed a little rush because of the crowd, the desserts looked interesting but we just did not have time to sit and try any. Will probably go back and try a few. the place is very nice and looked well cared for and clean. Watch your head though, to cut the sun the umbrella situation is very impressive but hard to maneuver around. It's needed and probably the best solution, but it's a lot of umbrella.

Yelp
Nice cafe with a large menu including some harder to find European dishes. Rosti with marinated cucumbers and salmon - the combination of the rosti, sour cream and salmon in a single bite was amazing. The quality of the individual components was great too. The marinated cucumber by itself wasn't memorable, but I really liked this dish overall 5/5 Syrniki with fresh berries and custard - I liked the texture of the cottage cheese pancakes. Reminds me of cornmeal pancakes. The cream went well with the large amount of fresh berries and the pancakes 3.5/5 The decor was pretty nice and welcoming. The large menu for the cafe surprised me. Lots of pastries and cakes to choose from as well. I would come back to try other dishes as well!

Yelp
I first went to Lele Cake when they opened a few years ago. I thought it was such a beautiful space and I loved how it was child friendly. It had been a while since I visited but recently I went with a girlfriend, and I remembered how much I like the cafe! Now I have returned a few times and really enjoyed their savory items, like the salmon crepe and the gruyere waffles. Their bakery items are delicious and great for a special occasion or gift. I got Easter cookies for my nieces and noticed they have special order items for Easter this weekend. This is the perfect place to meet with friends for lunch/coffee. They have outdoor seating and indoor tables as well. In one corner of the cafe, they have a play kitchen and toys for young children. It can get pretty crowded so you may have to wait for a table or sit at the communal table as well.
google avatar

Nessa R.

Yelp
I've been to lele kitchen a couple times and the food is always great and it's always busy, but we always manage to find a table. However, the welcoming, warm service is lacking and really affects the vibes of the cafe/restaurant. We tried the syriniki, waffles, and ube cheesecake and all were delicious. My son especially loved the little kids corner too
google avatar

Malathy A.

Yelp
How adorable is this place?! It's such a cozy little cafe with the cutest aesthetics and decor. I ended up getting the most dense, gorgeous-looking tropical cheesecake, literally the only whole cake they had left, and I totally lucked out. The service was quick and super chill, which I always appreciate. The place started filling up fast, so clearly it's a local favorite. There's so much more I want to try. The white chocolate matcha looked absolutely promising, definitely first on my list for next time. Honestly, the whole menu looked amazing. (I'm staying away from sugar for a while but I'm coming back as soon as I can) But let's talk about that cheesecake. Oh My God! Hands down one of the best I've ever had. It's on the pricier side, but 100% worth it. It's dense and cakey on the outside, gooey and melt in your mouth on the inside. The flavors are delicate but just right. It even gave me serious "Friends" vibes, you know that episode where Rachel and Chandler fight over a cheesecake that was accidentally delivered to them? Yeah, this one is that level good, maybe even better. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Service-- Responsive and helpful workers, but do note that this is an "order and get your food at the front" type of place-- akin to a cafe. Ambiance-- place was packed! super cute decor, clean and nice, no complaints here except that some of the tables can be a tiny bit cramped. Food-- Everything we got was perfectly cooked, clearly high quality ingredients and a menu where you really can't go wrong. The dishes they serve can be pretty hit or miss so we were nervous at first but everything was definitely a hit! The only reason I haven't given them five stars is because it's pretty pricey, and the drinks were nothing to write home about. Other than that I think they're worth the visit!

Yelp
A relative referred this local cafe in our neighborhood. They have good business and crowded on weekend. Unique cafe menu such as Ube latte, Gibraltar. Healthy breakfast or brunch menu too. It is a bit pricey as I spent $50 breakfast for two. We only ordered two entrees and two lattes. They taste good though. Portion was delicate. They were quite busy on weekend with limited indoor and outdoor tables. It is not Bill's Cafe in comparison on the menu selection or portion. It is rather unique and simple menu to try for coffee and delicate pastry and hot entrees.
google avatar

Tina K.

Yelp
Very cute cafe in a very simple-looking strip mall. Coffee shop-esque with lots of trendy decor and plants. Very kid-friendly with little toys and a small play corner. Prices seemed a bit high, but everything was good. Pastries were yummy and they have a good assortment of coffee drinks. Presentation of everything was really nice.

Yelp
Came here after a friend recommended it. We came just for dessert after getting lunch. My toddler picked out a chocolate dessert with raspberries. I can't remember the name of it. It was delicious and not that sweet. It almost was like a marshmallow with cake on the bottom. By itself the cake was a little dry so its best to eat it all together. I got the merengue cake. It was very sweet maybe a little too sweet for one person but great to share. I liked the decor but the tables got filled up fast. I can see it might feel a little cramped. I did see they had kids toys and we'll have to come back for breakfast or lunch for my toddler to enjoy them.
google avatar

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while but if I'm in the Los Gatos area, Lele is the place to go. A little on the pricy side but understandable considering the location. Great coffee, great food options and really nice pastries. Plenty of parking too. Note that this is a place that many come with their kids so take that into account, depends on the time of day at may be crowded and little noisy. The service is super quick and the girls that work the front are very nice.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Very cute cafe and bakery in the Los Gatos/Almaden neighborhood. Easy to find parking and decent amount of seating indoors/outdoors. Would recommend getting here early (before 11AM) on weekends. Loved the decor and fancy dessert display case. I ordered the Strawberry Rose Latte and avocado toast. The latte came with little bits of flower on top, and was delicious; on the sweeter side. The avocado toast was also tasty; presentation was solid on both. The pickled radishes were a nice touch. Great place for a coffee date, light breakfast/brunch, or afternoon tea.
google avatar

Shaguna W.

Yelp
Enjoyed trying this place for a light breakfast. The pastries are gorgeous but a little too sweet for my taste. Coffee was good and nicely presented. See I e was nice but very slow. Took almost 25 minutes for my oatmeal to come out. Very busy and lively place with beautiful decor and outdoor seating. Orders: Cappuccino 7/10 ok but not anything special Oatmeal with caramelized pears and almonds 10/10 sooo yummy. Needed nothing extra Raspberry Meringue cake slice 3/10 meringue was too sweet with a tangy cheese middle that overwhelmed the flavor
google avatar

Yelp
Warm and kind service and a beautiful chill ambience combined with delicious latte and food (ube latte is my favorite) turkey sandwich and their cakes are delicious. I am so glad that we live near by lelé

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice brunch here on New Years eve with my friends. The decor in the restaurant was cute with lots of plants and greenery. We didn't get any pastries but they looked oh so delicious. I opted for a savory dish and went with the homemade salted salmon toast. While it was good, the salmon slices was too thick and I felt the salmon itself overpowered the toast. It felt like I was eating sushi. My friend really enjoyed their waffles and pancakes though. It can get busy on the weekend, the line really never died down when we were there.
google avatar

Yelp
The lunch bowls, coffee, and bites are super yummy. Place is quaint and staff are lovely. I highly recommend this spot. They also serve wine so it can be a good casual happy hour with friends place as well
google avatar

Aaron L.

Yelp
A very delicious bakery that offers unique and delicious baked goods with artisan coffees. The gruyere waffles are delicious along with any other breakfast plates that they serve. A bit on the pricey side but worth it. The inside was a lot smaller then expected and was pretty full on a Saturday morning. They have outdoor seating but due to the rain we elected to take everything to go. Gruyere Waffles With Sun-Dried Tomatoes And the Soft Egg and Homemade Salted Salmon Toast With Marinated Red Onions with two ube lattes was what we ordered. The lattes were smooth, frothy, and I could actually taste the ube. Both waffles and salmon toast were great. The salmon was unusually thick but was buttery tasting and literally melted in our mouths. It was our favorite of the two. Staff was friendly and answered all of our questions, even though the place was busy, our orders came out really fast. Gastro Maestro approved!!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in during Thanksgiving weekend since this has been on the list for a while. It was super busy around lunchtime (which makes a lot of sense haha). You order first and find a seat yourself afterwards. Pretty hectic when it's during peak time, so plan appropriately! Food pick-up and amenities are also self service. I appreciate that the menu has unique items that are on the lighter side. I ordered an avocado toast on sourdough with smoked salmon and radishes. It was really tasty ! My friends got the eggs benedict, which is a signature item on their menu. Coffee was good, but I'd come mostly to try out their savory items and pastries. Ambiance was a bit chaotic due to the self-service nature of things, and it gets quite crowded and loud. I do really like this spot as a brunch option when you want a balanced meal.

Yelp
Came here for Mother's Day breakfast. Cute cafe, good location, ample parking. Gorgeous looking pastries and desserts. Service is friendly. The food was tasty ... we ordered the oatmeal, yogurt parfait and the cottage cheese pancakes. All were filling and fresh. The pear compote with the oatmeal was delicious, lots of ripe fresh fruit with the yogurt parfait and the pancakes are quite dense/filling (in a good way). The macaroon, burnt cheesecake, and raspberry brownie were also very, very tasty. Not overly sweet.

Yelp
All foods looked very colorful and tasted good! The showcase for pastries was so cute to look at! All pastries look delicious and it was hard to decide which one to get! They had diapers and changing station in the bathroom! Baby & kinds friendly! There was a small cute play area for kids!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute place! It has a really cute vibe to it that is super calming and peaceful. The decor, plants, and music in the background make it a good environment to have a quiet work place or chill hangout spot. I got a matcha, it was good. Only thing is I wish it was sweeter, but they have a bunch of sweetener options on the side. The place has little to no outlets, so if you come here, come with a full battery.
google avatar

Shawna M.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. First of all it's stunning, the overall vibe of the store is super zen and relaxing. It's a great place to focus, get work done or catch up with friends. They offer a wide range of foods, drinks, and even pastries. Everything is plated wonderfully and extremely aesthetic. They are a small locally owned business and are flourishing! They even started a restaurant next door which looks amazing. The only downsides to this place are the lack of accessible outlets and the number of outlets they have overall, and the time it takes to get your food. Other than this it is great. I do hope that they put in more outlets that way more people can come in to do work.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a delightful bakery and coffee shop. They have a wonderful selection of beverages and pastries. The menu is not overwhelming and the food items are lovely. Service was fast and friendly and the cashier was kind enough to explain their menu items. The place isn't big but there's plenty of seating inside and out. Parking is super easy. I had the plum cake which was absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Mikayla M.

Yelp
Paid $8 for a 12oz latte with almond milk before tip. One cashier working the bar and taking orders, poor customer service. It's cute inside, but small and noisy. The patio faces the road and parking lot. Everything is pricey, might be nice for a special occasion. I really want to like this place but I'm definitely not the target demographic.

Yelp
Lele cake is tucked away in a small unassuming strip mall, but has the cutest baked goods and cozy interior perfect for a mid day break or weekend stop. From coffee, tea, pastry and savory dishes I was so excited to try a little bit of everything! Ordered a lavender latte, Gruyère sun dried tomato waffles and a box of treats including a cake pop, fruit tart, hazelnut chocolate eclair and passionfruit panna cotta. Solid coffee, though I wish it had more of a lavender flavor to it. The Gruyère waffles were delicious! The menu described the egg as runny, but it was hard-boiled which was a little disappointing. I do wish there was a pickled or spicy component to the dish, but it was a great savory waffle, good textures and didn't feel overly greasy or heavy despite it having Gruyère. Its generous toppings of cherry tomatoes on top were deliciously sweet and gave the dish a nice acidity. The treats were all so delicious, rich and light at the same time. The fruit tart was my favorite, great custard cream and topped with fresh berries and half a fig. Everything came out in a timely manner and service was quick and friendly. Would definitely come back to try the rest of their Eastern European dishes like Syrniki and other treats! Limited indoor seating with a communal table, small paired tables and bar seating, but there are a few tables and chairs out front as well. Uses point system for rewards with Cash App here.

Yelp
Quaint brunch place with fun classic food options. Hard to find seating sometimes. Food: Gruyère waffles with sun dried tomato and soft egg 5/5 Savory soft waffle with good crunch that's balanced by the tartness of tomato. Well seasoned with great textures. Syrniki with berries and sour cream 4/5 Super soft and fluffy! There's a light sweetness to it and the texture reminds me of a mix between Japanese cheesecake and cottage cheese. Prosciutto toast with pears, smoked goat cheese and honey 4/5 Fantastic texture but it is a little tough to eat because of all the toppings ( not a complaint) . Taste is straightforward( the listed ingredients can all be tasted). Homemade salted salmon toast with marinated red onion 4/5 Nothing unexpected here. Delicious and well seasoned salmon toast. Ube latte with oat milk 3/5 A bit weak on the ube flavor Foam isn't smooth but since it's oat milk, that may be the reason why since it's more difficult to foam oat milk. Service: You pick up your own food at the counter so the main service you get is at the register. They have pretty good recommendations and are friendly. . Ambiance: Cozy. It's hard to find seating in the cafe though so be aware of that when visiting.

Yelp
I loved trying out this small cozy cafe in the Bellwood area! We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was pretty crowded, so make sure you grab a table before you order. The menus are located next to the cash register. The White Chocolate Sakura Matcha was probably one of the best matcha lattes I've ever had; the subtle floral notes along with the creamy white chocolate really made this drink special. I think this is seasonal so make sure to grab it while it's still advertised at the front! As for the food, the waffles were delicious as a person who doesn't reach for waffles and pancakes that much. It had a cheesy interior that was paired wonderfully with the whipped sour cream side. I think my only complaint is that the egg was pretty hard boiled and I would've rather had it on the runnier side. Overall, this place is great for brunch and I would definitely come again!

Yelp
Cozy coffee shop with a good ambiance both for hanging out with friends or studying/working. I like the authentic Russian dishes. The staff here are friendly and I enjoyed every bit of my breakfast. Basque cheesecake and Syriniki are highly recommended

Yelp
Wanted to try a cute new cafe and came across this place. The service was ok.... The blond cashier was kind of rude but ut was very busy. The first and prosciutto toast is definitely a must get! The combination goes so well and the goat cheese adds a great flavor profile. The drinks are mid.... Not something I would come back for. It just tasted like milk.

Yelp
We will be back! Staff is always really busy but efficient. The place can be really busy but they get through the orders as best as they can! Food, drinks and dessert were great with the cute decor!

Yelp
Order at the front then you snag a seat and once your food is ready they will let you know. There is self serve water/condiment/utensil area. The place was very busy. Decor was nice/cute. Items: - Gruyer Waffles with Sundried Tomatoes and Soft Egg: Exactly what you would expect from the name. - Rosti with Salmon and Fresh Marinated Cucumbers: I liked this one more as the salmon was thick and fresh! I would get this one again! (Unless they don't have it anymore :O ) - Hazelnut or mocha tart ? I forgot. But again very standard, but one flavor was def stronger than the other. They have a parking lot

Yelp
Lele Cakes is a super cute brunch spot. The ambiance is welcoming with lush greenery, ample natural lighting, and an overall relaxing atmosphere. The menu offers gourmet drinks, creative breakfast, balanced lunches, and sweet desserts. It was hard to pick between so many fresh options but eventually we opted for the Gruyere Waffles and the Rosti With Fresh Marinated Cucumbers and Salmon (Draniki). The Gruyere Waffles were great. They had a generous amount of cherry tomatoes on top and a hardboiled egg. I must note that the menu did mention sundried tomatoes and a soft egg which is slightly different than what was served. The Rosti With Fresh Marinated Cucumbers And Salmon (Draniki) also came served as a waffle. I assumed this would be presented as a potato pancake which is how a a traditional Draniki would be served. The salmon was beautifully cured and presented. The waffles were topped with a huge dollop of Whipped Goat cheese, which I felt was a little overwhelming. I was wondering if I would taste some eastern European/Russian influence with this dish and the second I bit into the pickled cucumbers, I got it! Both portion sizes were very generous and filling. I wasn't as pleased with the drinks we ordered. Although the ube tonic and ube latte looked pretty and were the perfect photo opt, they were both lacking in flavor and the tonic had a crazy strong after taste. I think they may have added a little too much tonic... I did enjoy that both drinks weren't too sweet but the drink menu needs some work. Parking is easy but seating spaces inside were limited on a Saturday afternoon. Service was good, you order at the cash register and pick your meals up at the counter. Staff was pleasant.

Yelp
Loved all of the food we ordered. Great spot, get there early before the rush because they have somewhat limited seating. Everything was as delicious as it was beautiful! Try the ube latte, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
This is the perfect spot if you want a non-typical brunch/bakery with fresh ingredients that will leave you feeling healthy after. This place is GORGEOUS. The food is so creative and so fresh. My bf and I stumbled upon this place as a really high rated brunch spot in Los Gatos. Coming in a random Saturday, it was pretty busy for brunch. We had to wait for proper seating out side but it wasn't too bad. I honestly can't recall what we exactly had because every single dish in that menu looked so good. I got these savory waffles with salmon and they PACK THAT SALMON ON. It was sooo much I also had the Ube tonic which was a nice surprise because it was nicely flavored and Ube drinks can usually feel underwhelming when it comes to flavor. Bf had the prosciutto and fig toast (delicious btw). I definitely plan on going back here again to try everything else on the menu. That ube cake is calling my name.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe/brunch spot for catching up w friends or studying. This review is only based on the drinks since I haven't had their food yet. Rose latte (3.5/5): rose flavor is very faint but you can still note a slight floral flavor to it. It's good! It just doesn't have a wow factor but a solid drink overall. Dirty ube latte (3/5): love the ube flavor in this- it is very milky and the ube doesn't have much of a sweetness to it and isn't as strong. This is all down to preference so it's overall a good drink but I prefer a stronger flavor for both ube + coffee. Overall, the drinks were good and enjoyable just wasn't very memorable. For the environment, I think it's super cute in there and the vibe is amazing. Service was fast and the staff were all nice and I noticed they buy fresh flowers and place them at each table which is so cute :') since environment was perfect I'm rating it an overall 4/5. would definitely come back to try out some of their food items and other drinks.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in the same center as a scrapbook store I go to. While I'm at events at the store I often come to Lele Cakes for coffee and a bite to eat. I have always received wonderful service here at the counter. I have always ordered food to go, and I have never eaten in the restaurant. The place looks really charming and has a comfortable vibe to it. Although the prices are on the high side the freshness and the quality of the food, are worth the extra dollars. Everything I have gotten here was delicious and the tasty treats are to die for. I will certainly be coming back here again.

Yelp
I was excited to try the Eastern European desserts and lunch items at this place, but my experience left me with mixed feelings. Pros: - The small desserts, like kartoshka and medovik, were good. The medovik was made in an unusual way with cookies instead of the typical thin layers, but it wasn't overly sweet. - The coffee was decent. I had an Americano, and my girlfriend enjoyed an ube latte. - Convenient parking. Cons: - The lunch items are overpriced for what you get. - The service. This is a cafe where you pick up your order from the counter, get your own silverware and put used dishes away. I felt like the $100 I spent was a waste considering that front of the house workers only take your order and make basic coffee. The employees behind the counter were mostly chit-chatting or openly eating. At times, they both went to the kitchen, and the entire staff was loudly talking and giggling. With no music in the store, it was awkward to eat while listening to their conversations. Overall, the desserts and coffee were enjoyable, but the service and lunch prices left much to be desired. I'd come back to get more desserts to go but I doubt I will ever consider to have a meal in there unless I will see drastically changed service.
