The 25 Best Restaurants In Rome 2024

"Pizzeria L’Elementare sets the benchmark for Roman-style pizza. It strikes that perfect balance of soft, airy dough with a crispy, cracker-like crust. Our go-to is the marinara doppia loaded with super sweet and juicy Pachino tomatoes, fragrant basil, Sicilian oregano, salty anchovies, and a hint of peperoncino. Their pizza with crispy cubes of potato, thin, crackling strips of pancetta, and provola, also hits the spot. L’Elementare also happens to serve some of the best (and most interesting) supplì of any sit-down pizzeria in Rome, including one filled with fior di latte, caciocavallo, and ‘nduja. They have four locations across Rome, but we like the Trastevere spot for people-watching at the bars next door." - gillian mcguire, annie replogle

The 20 Best Pizzerias in Rome

"Mirko Rizzo has proven himself to be a Renaissance man of sorts in the pizza department. He first made his name at his excellent pizza in teglia shop Pommidoro in Centocelle and now has waded into pizza tonda territory at his newest venture, L’Elementare, in Trastevere. Rizzo’s style has always leaned heavily decadent, as demonstrated by pizza toppings like Porco Blu (chicory, capocollo, and blue cheese cream), but especially by his fried starters like cream-drenched, deep-fried tortellini and fried bricks of lasagna. Wash it all down with a palate-cleansing beer from the formidable list." - Katie Parla

Their pizza is really amazing. The toppings and the bottom are excellent. They make a really really thin crust roman style pizza. The extra thin crust is very interesting and I really enjoyed both pizzas we got. This pizza with a normal size crust would be the perfect roman style pizza for me.

Best Beer Bar in Rome We always ended up here almost every evening to start or end our night. They actually carry double IPA's and their drinks are great. The pizza, suppli and home made potato chips are amazing. Be sure to ask for the spicy oil to put on your pizza! A great place to hang out, chill, listen to music or watch a match. Highly recommend!

Amazing Roman style pizza! Very authentic & crispy, highly recommended for anyone who wants to try this style of pizza. A trendy and causal pizzeria, very friendly & helpful staff who recommended popular flavors. We also ordered the fresh fried chips with paprika which were sooo delicious & a great starter. For the pizza we went for a classic & a non-tomato base with yellow cherry tomatoes, anchovies, oregano & chilli oil, both. were incredibly tasty!

Had an awesome Saturday night at L’Elementare! The pizza was next-level— great options and that signature thin, crispy Roman crust totally delivered. Super lively spot with great energy. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Trastevere.

I have to say this is the best pizza I’ve ever had, with many recommendations sayings it’s “life changing” they are absolutely right. The Roman style pizza with light and crispy base is to die for. On a busy night I was worried about not getting a table but they tried their best to squeeze us in and they were very kind checking if we was enjoying the food. Atmosphere was brilliant, not too loud but calm and social. I would recommend this place over and over. Thank you for a great experience!

The amount of Italians rolling into this place is all you need to know. Get a reservation, know your order, be nice, and enjoy the blessing that is this pizza place and bar. Great beer on draft. Fantastic pizzas. Kind staff. Reasonable prices. Can’t ask for anything else. Thank you to everyone working here!

Very delicious Roman-style pizzas: the thin, crispy base gave it a unique and enjoyable taste. I absolutely loved it! The anchovies were quite salty, though, so maybe they could adjust that a bit, or you can simply remove a few. Overall, a great experience!
