"The high-scoring wines and verdant outdoor patio at Lemelson make it a popular spot to taste gravity-flow wines made with estate-grown grapes. The wines on offer here generally consist of the Willamette Valley big three — pinot noir, pinot gris, and chardonnay — with a few one-off rieslings, from dry to dessert. Based on availability, walk-ins are welcome. The tasting room is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily." - Zoe Baillargeon, Brooke Jackson-Glidden

My husband and I absolutely loved our experience at Lemelson. We went on a quiet morning and had the best time. The wine was top notch- everything from rose, chardonnay, and of course, all the Pinots. The customer service was excellent- Delaney was amazing!!! She assisted tremendously in getting my wine club membership set up and I can't wait to receive my shipment :)

We had a fantastic experience at Lemelson! We arrived with a group of 9 and we were immediately taken care of with a fun, relaxed, and knowledgeable host. We were running a little late and when we called it was met with warmth and flexibility, which was really appreciated on a busy day. The outdoor area is beautiful and of course the wines were fabulous. Could not recommend a visit here enough!

Google
Lemelson Vineyards was a wonderful experience. The wine is fabulous! They care about the environment and manage their vineyards accordingly. We had a great tasting experience -- the two Lemelson employees that we interacted with were extremely knowledgable and nice. Afterwards, we ate our picnic lunch on their patio in the sunshine. I highly recommend this winery.

Google
Lemelson's is far and away my favorite winery in Oregon! The wine quality is excellent, but what really sets them apart for me is the attention and service I get every time I call with a question or stop by for a tasting. Always super nice, incredibly patient, and extremely knowledgeable. Today I picked up some wine for the holidays (along with a few bottles from De Ponte, my second favorite Oregon winery) and now I think the holidays will start tonight!

Google
The tasting experience was thoughtfully curated and guided by knowledgeable, passionate staff who made us feel welcome and well-informed. Each pour told a story, from the crisp, aromatic whites to the bold, velvety reds. You can taste the craftsmanship and care in every glass. Special shoutout to Juan who made us very very comfortable and welcoming be sure to check out his photography page @juanshootsphotos on IG for those who are in need of a photographer. Will definitely come back again.

Google
Thank you to our host Juan who made the experience 10x better than we thought it would be. He was so welcoming and knowledgeable! The wines were delicious and the experience a memorable one.

Google
We have driven past this location numerous times and always wanted to check it out. It is a small but lovely tasting room. Our favorite tasting was the rosé. We came in the winter and it was not crowded at all. I think in the summer or on a warm day, it would be a great place to sit outside. I only wish it had an electric car charger. It has a huge solar array, which we love, but I didn’t see a car charger anywhere.

Google
Fantastic Mother's Day gathering with friends--delicious food paired with a variety of their excellent wines, a bonus sparkling cava. Genuinely friendly staff always make you feel welcome. Beautiful facility. Visited in April, liked them so much we returned in May.

Yelp
Went for a member pick up event today, and nicely done. Each station had the maker there to chat and tell about the wines and a little food pairing. They had a great white pinot that they were featuring, which I've never had. Very good. All their wines are excellent and very accessible price points. Very nice property with a great outdoor space and lots of parking. Service is friendly and welcoming, I mean it's a winery...so what's there to be upset about. Haha. They probably won't like me mentioning, but the pours are generous for tastings and they didn't mind giving extra tastes or a glass on the house if someone in our party didn't drink reds, full glass of pinot gris for my mom, nice! Will be back for more, this is a stand out in the area with so many amazing neighbor vineyards.

Meghna G.

Yelp
The flight was pretty good. They also serve portions. Have outdoor seating with a great fire place. Plenty of space to walk around with wine glasses and of course they are pet friendly !! The host was extremely patient and cheerful and explained each wine beautifully!!

Jodi S.

Yelp
Came on a Monday without reservations and they were able to seat our party of five immediately. The flight menu includes a preset list. Personally, I was not a fan of their pinot noirs. I enjoyed the rose the most. The outdoor patio is nice and has pretty views of the vineyard! We brought our own cake and they kindly provided plates and utensils.

Mandy N.

Yelp
They have heated outdoor seating and beautiful vineyard views! Our server was very knowledgeable about the wines he was pouring us and they offer industry discounts on wine.

Kim G.

Yelp
Friends took me here during one of our wine tasting outings and immediately, it became one of my faves. Lemelson is not just a vineyard to visit for tastings, it's a vineyard to buy wine! Typically I am a red wine drinker, the bigger and bolder the better. Since my friends are members, we did the complimentary tasting of 5 wines starting with a Pinot Gris, then a Chardonnay before moving onto the reds., three Pinot Noirs. While I enjoyed them all, I was really enthralled with the two whites, the 2017 Chestnut Hill Pinot Gris and 2015 Reserve Chardonnay. They were elegant, balanced and smooth. I ended up buying them both which surprised everyone, mostly myself! This is exactly why I love going tasting, it takes you out of your comfort zone, risk free, and often you discover a new favorite wine. The day we were there it was winter and raining so we didn't get to sit on the patio or explore the land. Will definitely be visiting again, that patio is calling my name! So are the wines.

Ronald B.

Yelp
Most important. . the wines of Lemelson are superb. While their Pinot Noir varieties are among the World's best, their chardonnays and rosè issues are noteworthy. What I cherish about this winery is the superb staff: Kate is a magnificent agent, with great recommendations, super-quick responses and assistance, and SO friendly. . Never visited the winery (on my itinerary for 2023), but my granddaughter Claire did this year, and Staff treated her and her group like a queen (and her entourage) for which I (and she) are thankful and grateful. The winery makes one feel you are part of the family, and their wonderful array of superb wines makes you happy to be part of that family.

Randy L.

Yelp
I've enjoyed Lemelson's excellent wines for years, and was finally able to stop at the vineyard for a tasting. Beautiful vineyard views from the split level terrace, with a good mix of shade and sun. Tasting fee is $25 for five wines (waived with two bottle purchase). My tasting was a Riesling, a Chardonnay, and three single vineyard Pinot Noirs. The winemaking is impeccable, with a notable balance and elegance. The Pinot Noirs are spendy ($48-60), but in line with other single vineyard Pinots these days. Highly recommended.

Jaime H.

Yelp
An amazing place to stop on your wine tasting adventure! We brought a picnic with us and it was a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the views while we ate and had a bottle of rose. We were lucky to get a VIP tour and it was truly amazing but even the regular tasting would be very worth it. The wines are good and they provide quite a few for the tasting. I definitely bought the wine club and am excited to go back!

Tawny M.

Yelp
This was a great winery. Lemelson is a smaller family estate compared to some of the larger operations in the area. Their wines are organic (if you are into that sort of thing) and their wines go from wine to barrel to bottle on site, but very decently priced. Their whites are excellent, the Chardonnay was a standout and I'm not even a Chardonnay person. We had the Covid experience, but they had a decent set up with heaters under the cover of their cute barn style tasting room. The server was very nice and really knew her stuff! Highly recommend!

Jeff J.

Yelp
What a lovely experience! We were down for an event in wine country and were fortunate enough to find time to visit Lemelson! Right to the good stuff...the wines - the Pinot Gris has just the right hint of acidity and a gorgeous texture - it was a perfect pairing for our cioppino later that day! The Chestnut Hill Pinot Noir - was beautifully aromatic and medium bodied with lots of delicious berry notes! It served it's designed purpose well, when called to sacrifice itself for cedar plank wild king salmon, with roasted brussel sprouts. The grounds are amazing, and if you are offered a tour, TAKE IT! The amazing architecture, the beautiful grounds, not to mention the physics employed to produce their wines (Enterprise, engage!), make this vineyard worth the trip!

Yelp
Lemelson was one of our favorite vineyards when we came to Portland 6 years ago. It did NOT disappoint when we visited again last weekend. The tasting room wasn't packed, but there were a few guests. The young man (oh crap that makes me sound old AF, I am only 40 but he looked 20...super young) who helped us was SO knowledgeable and friendly. We learned some really cool facts about the vineyard, its owners and the wines themselves. The wines STILL have it. So much depth and flavor. Such great pinots. SUCH a wonderful place, beautiful vineyard and views. We still love Lemelson!!!

Rachel E.

Yelp
Lemelson was recommended to us by a winemaker whose wine we really enjoyed, so we decided to head over on our last day to check it out. It definitely did not disappoint. First of all, the outside patio is amazing for sitting outside and soaking up the sun. (Or shade...up to you.) The pinots are all quite highly rated, 91 pts +, but we were also impressed by the pinot gris. Friendly service, great atmosphere and delicious wine. What more do you want?! Tasting fee waived with 2 bottle purchase.

April Y.

Yelp
Lemelson offers so much for the wine customer. Not only do they have great wines, my favorites were the Dry Riesling and the Jerome's Pinot Noir, but the facility is state-of-the-art with a really beautiful fermentation hall. It's worth asking them to tell you more about it. We were the first to visit on a Friday and we took our kids. The kiddos were even treated to a jellybean tasting while we did our tasting. The kids enjoyed watching the bees and smelling the rosemary and lavender bushes nearby while we relaxed on the patio. I'll definitely return.

Tina R.

Yelp
Visited as a group of 6 in a limo on an unusually quiet President's Day Monday. The level of customer service from Josie was just outstanding, she really went above and beyond. All employees we met were super friendly. Oh yeah, and the wine was AMAZING. This was a first time visit to Lemelson for all of us and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended for awesome Oregon Pinot Noir. I also really liked their rose!

Bianca E.

Yelp
Really REALLY lovely wines, in a beautiful setting. We were able to have a tasting on a beautiful fall day for our anniversary, and had a wonderful experience. We really appreciated our "pourer" (is that her title?) and the experience. We also appreciated the safety precautions they have made for the pandemic. We will be back!

Ken H.

Yelp
After traveling all over Oregon to over 50 wineries, Lemelson is my hands down my favorite. There are some expensive Pinot's here, but my consistant favorite is the Thea selection Pinot Nior. Thea is a world class Pinot that you can get by the case for about 24 dollars; I think it's a steal. The whites are all top 5 I've tasted in Oregon. Dont for the Pinot Gris or the Rose, you wont be sorry. There is small charge for tasting but tasting fee waved with two bottle purchase. You need to be bonked the head if you dont take at least 2 bottles home. Great big patio to enjoy wine and lots for grassy area for 4 legged creatures. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Dont miss this winery.

Phyllis S.

Yelp
We love this winery! This whole operation is done well! They have solar panels and the whole nine yards. The owner is environmentally conscious and generous to environmental non-profits. Their wines are excellent and reasonably priced. Tastings for wine club members is free, $10 for nonmembers.

Jan M.

Yelp
In May we came across Lemelson wines at a restaurant in Key West and enjoyed them a lot. So, we were very excited to see that Lemelson would be easy to visit on our trip to Willamette Valley. When we pulled up, we were very impressed with the setting. The winery itself is a large, very natural wood building that blends with the landscape perfectly. It is perched on a slight hill above a pretty vineyard, and behind the buiding is a very large grove of beautiful pine trees that provide a picturesque backdrop. There was a patio that wrapped around the side of the building, allowing you to sit and relax as you tasted their wines. The wines were solid, consistently good pinot noirs. The lady pouring wines was informative, and actually brought the wines to us outside on the patio, taking the time to talk about the wine maker, his famiy, and their history. Definitely worth a stop.

Rick O.

Yelp
Josie and Henry were Very welcoming and knowledgeable Wine was very good and the price point was fantastic. Looking forward to next time.

P S.

Yelp
For $20, you get to do a nice tasting with a wide variety of wines (I believe the tasting fee is waived with purchase of equal/greater value). In addition to the tasting menu, we also got to try quite a few open bottles and do side-by-side comparison on some of their 2013 & 2014 wines. They have a roomy tasting room, patio seating that overlooks the vineyards, and a covered patio area if you're looking for some shade. The location is definitely able to accommodate large groups, and they are dog-friendly! Next time we might pack a picnic and bring our pup with us for a day trip!

Dirk R.

Yelp
Thank you for the great service. With such amazing Pinot's in the area, you staff made us feel welcome to Oregon, which is a bonus. We are excited to enjoy the wine we purchased from you with friends back in Sacramento.

Patrick S.

Yelp
There are so many fantastic things about Lemelson wine going on you really must go visit their winery to touch, smell, taste, feel and see where this wine is perfected.

Ronald A.

Yelp
This is our favorite Oregon winery. We come out a couple of times yearly and always find something we can add to the cellar. We like their style. Thea's and Stermer are likely our favorites. However, it is rarely that we find a wine we do not appreciate. The prices are fair, the service is good and the people have good answers when you ask questions. This is our only Oregon club.

Laura O.

Yelp
I'm giving this one 5 stars too - a completely different experience than Soter, but it's a great one. The wines are really good, but I'm mainly giving this 5 stars based on our experience there. A cute brunette (I didn't catch her name...maybe Sara...because an obnoxious group of people were shouting her name to get her attention I think) helped us. She was very friendly, laid back, attentive without being annoying. We sat out on the patio and tasted the whites and one Pinot. The whites tasting was only $7 (which was the cheapest we found here) and refunded with a bottle purchase...we got the Chardonnay. If you want to go to a non-stuffy winery with great views and outdoor seating, I'd recommend this one!

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Nice place to stop along the path if you will. Their chardonnay was awesome with a really nice finish. One of the Pinot Noirs was spot on for my tastes The one in particular was fruit forward with a late but lasting finish. Really nice. (I am not saying which one as it would spoil the surprise!) All were very good. The tasting room was nice. The best part about this winery was the host. She was less chatty than many in a similar role and much more digital in her approach. When I started asking questions about climate, soils and slopes and the like, she opened up and was amazing to chat with. We went "off schedule" with the wines selected for the typical tasting so she could demonstrate her point between the aforementioned variables. For a "wanna bee" wine maker like me, it was a really cool experience.

Robert P.

Yelp
We visited this winery with friends and had a terrific experience. Ben showed us around the whole operation and we were able to see everything from the grapes being sorted and pressed to the barrel room during our time there. This was by far the best learning experience at a winery because Ben took the time to explain everything to us on our tour without making us feel like the novices we are. The prices are great here as well! This experience is truly about the wine process and not just about the views and activities like other wineries in the area. It was well worth the visit!

Tabatha E.

Yelp
Look at those legs on the vineyard! Delightful vineyard, gal was bubbly and knowledgable making our tasting fun! The Meyer Vineyard Pinot Noir, a light well-rounded Pinot! Mmmmm

Christina T.

Yelp
This winery just paled in comparison to others in the area, now that we've visited more and have more to compare against. Pros - the wines are very cheap and the outdoor seating is nice. Cons - the wines are cheap because the quality was just lacking for me. One of the Pinot Noir's - the Thea - which had great reviews tasted very drab and almost bland - and it was a Pinot. I was shocked. The only wine I would consider buying was their "everyday red" wine as described to us but even that wasn't as good as many others in the area, especially for the price. We ended up just paying our tasting fees and leaving. The lady who served our wines was pleasant, but not enough to buy wine we didn't enjoy.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Such a great experience. Called and asked if they could accommodate a party of eight, and they said yeah! Come on through. We got there and a man approached me asking if I had just called. I said yes, and he said that he reserved a table for our group. So nice. We had our own private area, and the service was amazing. Henry was so nice and fun. The wines were great too. We were on a student budget, but they still presented us with so many great options. Would absolutely go back.

Matthew L.

Yelp
Definitely a must-taste winery - with, we decided, must-buy wines. By far, Lemelson was our best tasting experience in the region. Lemelson is now producing elegant, complex, delicious and food-enhancing Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays, plus select other varietals with their gorgeous estate-grown fruit. 2018 will be head winemaker Matt Wengel's fifth vintage, and based on what he has already crafted, he has an expert feel and vision for what exceptional wines from this terroir can be. These wines are round and well-structured in the mouth, with perfectly entrancing starts and finishes. The winery is innovatively designed and built so that wines are made nearly entirely by gravity-fed operations - resulting in ideal handling of the fruit throughout the entire winemaking process. Several of the wines we tasted are knock-outs. Lovely tasting room, as well. Highly, highly recommended!!

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Very helpful staff. Wonderful deck that overlooks their vineyard. Loved the Meyer Vineyard Pinot Noir and Rose of Pinot Noir.

Christine R.

Yelp
We spent a wonderful afternoon here today! The space is incredibly beautiful with views to the mountains and some of their vineyards. We shared a leisurely tasting outside on the patio. The tasting room staff were so friendly and helpful, they even shared some ideas about the next stage of our trip out to the coast. We were so impressed that Lemelson is an organic winery that employs sustainable practices. The gentleman who helped us was incredibly informative about the winery and the specific wines we were tasting - and this was his fourth day working there! (So sorry that we didn't ask his name). We will definitely return to Lemelson when we're in the area again!

Damion C.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and make a stop at Lemelson Vineyards on your next trip to the Willamette Valley wine country. Lemelson was recommend to us by Peyton who was pouring at our first stop Four Graces. I asked him to send us somewhere we haven't been to since I've gone to at least 40 different wineries in the area over the last 3 years or so. His 1st recommendation was Lemelson and said the wines were fantastic. So our party of 6 jumped in the Tahoe and made our way over. The building is beautiful, the tasting room was very warm and inviting. Our host(Carly I think) was very friendly and happy to see us there. The had old school rock playing in the background and she poured our first wine. It was 1 white(dry Riesling) and 4 reds(Pinot) for a $10 fee. Since the sun was breaking and it was warming up we decided to sit on the patio. We didn't have to get up once as she brought out each tasting. I had said "to bad you don't have speakers out here" and she responded lets open up the doors and turn up the music! Um...Hell Yea! I've promised not to review the wines as everybody's palates are different but these wines rocked! So much so that we bought two bottles to open so we could enjoy the weather and listened to the music. We even put off our next stop just to hang out. Two couples in our party ended up joining their wine club...Carly waived all our fees. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!

Michelle S.

Yelp
Loved this place. Great white and red wines and an interesting story. the father of the guy who owns it is a famous inventor - check out his story on Wikipedia. The hostess (I forgot her name) was awesome, she educates us and really knew a lot about the various AVAs. Definitely worth a stop!

Steve K.

Yelp
Lemelson is a great place to visit, with a nice property and patio, a fairly large and open tasting room, and a friendly staff. The wines are good, and reasonably priced Recommended

Leeseuh K.

Yelp
Beautiful winery with a modern tasting room that offers lovely views of their estate. They offer a few whites, but specialize in pinots. An impressive variety of pinots for the drinkers, and a very friendly dog to entertain the rest. Will definitely re-visit if I find myself in the area again.

Neil F.

Yelp
Nice wines, beautiful faculty. We visited early on a Saturday and found it to be a peaceful and relaxing place to drink. Their whole portfolio was solid. Bottle pricing was as expected, but the $25 tasting fee threw me. I can't recommend it to any of my friends because for that price no one would come. Sure they wave it, IF you drop $80+ on bottles. I'd definitely recommend buying a bottle and drinking there instead. I know I'm not the first to say it, but it looks like us common folk are getting priced out of the Valley's wine.

Caitlin C.

Yelp
Lemelson had a beautiful view, but of the locations we visited on our Oregon wine tour, it ended up being the least memorable. In all likelihood, our timing may have contributed to this. We arrived while another group was also tasting; as a result, we didn't get a lot of attention from the woman pouring. She made sure that we were served promptly, but she didn't spend a lot of time describing the wines we were drinking. This may be why I don't have a lot of strong feelings about any of the wines served there. So while I wouldn't say to skip Lemelson, I also wouldn't press you to visit there either.

Norma B.

Yelp
Wine was just ok for the price. On a buying trip from Phoenix so wine has to be worth taking up space in the car. View and tasting room are lovely but we are looking for great wine at an excellent price point. We didn't find it here.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Very nice winery. Friendly staff and beautiful grounds (really beautiful!) 3 areas for sitting and enjoying the gorgeous country side. Their wines were really great as well. I appreciated the casual and down-to-earth feel here. We will definitely be back :-0
