10 Best Brunch Places in Dublin | Condé Nast Traveler

"Set just off Grafton Street, in the heart of the downtown shopping and dining quarter, Lemon & Duke is a relaxed, cool spot that works for pretty much any time of day—think mid-retail therapy coffee and a casual lunch, dinner paired with expertly-crafted cocktails, and even a special event in the private room. Chef Andrew Duffy's menu employs locally-sourced ingredients to create a low-key, East-meets-West menu, a particular treat during the restaurant's extended daily brunch hours: Think guacamole and chorizo eggs Benedict, or hoisin-glazed chicken wings. Extended brunch hours (and menus), and Asian-flavored twists on modern classics make this a solid refueling pick in the city center, while excellent bartenders, standout cocktails, and unique beers on tap—including a rare unpasteurized Pilsner—make this a drinking favorite." - Sandra Ramani

Lemon and Duke looks great inside. The space is stylish and comfortable, and the decoration gives it a nice atmosphere. The food is good and the waiters are friendly and attentive, which makes sitting down for a meal enjoyable. The downside is the bartenders. They come across as unfriendly, which puts a damper on the experience (at least with me). Go for the food and table service, and you’ll have a good time.

Google
Great experience overall. Food was ssooo good I got the ribs large size they had loads of meat on them and the bbq sauce was delicious 😋. Wait staff were very friendly and attentive.

Google
I had a lovely Sunday brunch with my partner. The food portions are very big and the food is delish 😋 I had the pancakes with chicken and bacon, super tasty! Special mention to the cappuccinos which appear to be made with Lavazza coffee, my favourite. The place was busy but the service was quick. Good lively atmosphere.

Google
Recommended. I really enjoyed the seafood tagliatelle... juicy and slightly spicy, well done. A tiny extra spicy would have enhanced it. Great cheesecake to top it off. The malbec wine also good, not great... I would suggest to add some primitivo or negramaro choice in their wine list.

Google
Organised a large group booking here. Staff were so accommodating and very attentive. Food is always great, good prices and the interior is stunning.

Google
Good cocktail list and staff are nice. The second they start to close tho they very obviously push ppl out by flashing lights and closing blinds to pass a message. Very pub like. Didn’t think it matched the vibe of the place. Otherwise it’s gorgeous. I will definitely be back,

Google
Seems like a cool place. The staff were inviting. It sure is pretty

Google
Regular college bar. Food has little no flavor. Table didn't have pepper. So not much to season it either. Not much to recommend of this place or it's sister location across from it.

Yelp
I come to Dublin my hometown at least 4 times a year and love the hospitality and great service everywhere. It's lovely to meet people from everywhere on earth and enjoy the great service. We love the food here and have been here many times with amazing service and food. Unfortunately we had a horrific experience tonight with a server Veronija who treated us with such disrespect and coldness I could not believe it. We were told another party was here and they needed the table which was perfectly fine as the person delivering the info was kind and communicated with grace. Then someone else came back and told us it was fine as those people had moved to another table and we could take our time. Then another lady called Veronija came by and rudely planted our bill on the table and said we have to leave As another party needed the table. I told her we were just told to relax and she was clearly upset shaking her head and complaining. We were shocked as if we did something wrong. When we left I told her she needed to learn Irish hospitality skills and that her communication delivery was harsh and cold. We then had some guy with a beard pipe in that we were in the wrong and then we were then called racist for speaking the truth. I will never go back there again and I am still shaking at the horror of it all. We have had nothing but the best treatment and service in all my years of coming home and the many great restaurants we go to. This usually comes from the top and the manager who hires and allows this treatment of people who frequent this restaurant. I am very sad to say that I will never go to Lemon and Duke's Again. Also for the first time in my life I did not leave a 25% tip which I usually do.

Yelp
Ordered the salmon and avocado salad, but was served the Irish turkey steak sandwich. Since we were in a rush and since the waitress dashed away before I could say anything, I just decided to eat the sandwich. The turkey wasn't the most tender, and the sandwich wasn't hot (temperature wise), but the redeeming quality was the sauce in the sandwich, which was quite flavorful. The sandwich wasn't anything extraordinarily special. Plus, service wasn't great because they messed up my order, and they were slow (another table got their food before us even though they ordered after us).

Yelp
We loved the food. The fish and chips atop smashed peas was divine. The chips are thick and not my favorite style. The Cesear salad was decent It's odd, again, service in Dublin so far, is really dismal. We sat for over 20 minutes before they came and got our order. She never came by during the meal itself (we needed tartar sauce for the fish and our water glasses were empty) I had to stand up and put my coat on, to get our bill. We sat for almost 30 minutes after we were done eating We had a nice day, despite dreadful cold wet weather going to tour of Goal and walking back by Dublin castle (which was closed due to Joe Biden in town)

Yelp
Lovely spot for a nice lunch and a pint. Decor was cozy and trendy. Large menu with a lot of options, and the staff was very attentive. MUST get their chicken wings, they were amazing. Large cocktail list with unique combos of flavors, all tasty as well as pretty to look at. Must visit while in Dublin.

Yelp
Party of 7 treated wonderfully. Attentive service, well made cocktails, excellent food. Great location. Will recommend and return.

Yelp
Stopped by for drinks, they made anything you can think of. The weekly special cocktail was great. A real feel of pride in what they do, and delicious results. Next time we'll stay for food, but we recommend highly for sophisticated drinks and lovely service.

Yelp
I tried giving this feedback to the team at L&D directly but as of yet, I have received no response, so I decided to share here instead. I met a friend there on a Wednesday a few weeks ago for some food. Midway through my meal I saw that a group of 10-12 women who had arrived ~20 mins earlier were being asked to leave by a manager. I caught one of them before they left and they told me that they were ejected because they had the audacity to be "Knitting" while they enjoyed some food and drink. I didn't mention it on the night to the staff (who were lovely btw), but the more I thought about it the angrier I became. The team ignoring my feedback didn't help. The group in question was quiet, respectful and seemed to have been ordering food and drink on a night that I'm sure wouldn't have been the busiest. I can only assume that one of the managers decided that they wanted to enact their dominance and disrupt the night of a group of well-meaning women who were meeting to socialise and grab some food and drink. The fact that they happened to be holding some wool and a few needles while trying to enjoy their night, doesn't seem like a reasonable excuse for denying them service. I'm happy to see that the restaurant/bar industry has recovered to the point that they can turn away well-meaning, paying customers but I will be looking for more welcoming places to spend my money in future.

Yelp
Popped in for late night drinks. Lively spot with a DJ and some dancing. If you wanna go somewhere for a strong cocktail after dinner to keep things going, this is the spot.

Olivia D.

Yelp
Highly recommend this spot for cocktails (and food) but the cocktail menu is thorough and stole the show. The bartender's designed the menu and take pride in what they create and get excited when you pick the one they contributed. All the staff was friendly, great to chat with, and eager to give recommendations. For social media people, this is a major hit! Great cocktail presentation and they have Lemon and Duke lit angel wings in the basement for fun photos! Just a block over from the major shopping street it's a must!

Yelp
Was here with a big wedding party. I had filet mignon with sweet potato. Pistachio creme bru le for dessert. Delicious. The staff were very kind and courteous.

Yelp
So for weeks when the Grafton lounge closed down, I wondered what was gonna happen to this prime spot as I walked past it every morning. So when Jamie Heaslip posted on Instagram, I did a double take as the mystery was finally solved. A few friends have checked into Lemon & Duke and given good reviews. So we popped in for a cheeky drink on a Saturday afternoon and we were impressed with the decor, ambiance, friendly staff. I ordered the lady in red cocktail which was nice. The food people ordered looked really good, so we definitely have to go back and eat. Good spot and great location

Yelp
Finally! A pub in Dublin get it right. What a spot! Staff were excellent , such a great selection of Dips. Will be back.

Yelp
We are a group of knitters that go to different pubs each week. And had been here before. There must be a new manger named Sony and after we ordered drinks and food he told us we were not welcome to knit. So we left and will never return and went down the street to a very nice place called The Bailey.

Yelp
A nice modern bar , far enough off the thoroughfare that you can enjoy a pint in peace, but close enough that Grafton street is just a short stroll away. There's a fantastic range of spirits and craft beers, although perhaps not the place for you if you'd rather a good old fashioned Heineken. The staff are lovely and friendly and the decor is interesting, and the seats deeply comfortable however after dark the place seems very dingy , which transforms the place from a fresh faced young place to something that feels much less appealing .

Yelp
The food was delicious. We had the lemon and duke platter breakfast and enjoyed it immensely. My son had the French toast sandwich, which was two slices of French toast with marscapone. For dinner we had the risotto and and the steak and mushroom soup. All amazing.

Yelp
I'm not surprised to learn this beautiful (recently renovated) bar and restaurant is very trendy at the moment. Eye-catching tanks above the bar store Pilsner Urquell and almost shadow the vast whiskey collection. This bar is one of two in Ireland offering unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell from a tank, and yes, there is a noticeable difference! Warning, you'll be torn between the nice tap offering, local craft bottled beers and the around-the-globe whiskey selection, including many limited release Irish whiskeys. This large establishment is an excellent place for meetings and groups.

Yelp
To be honest, I didn't know what to expect when this place re-opened. Pleasantly surprised is putting it mildly. I love what they have done to the space. The whole place seems much bigger and somehow darker at the same time which works so well with the somewhat retro styling. Staff as they always have been are excellent and so is drink selection. Didn't try any food as I was in late on a Saturday but the menu looks good. Will 100% be back in, one of my new favourite bars in the city.

Yelp
I've been here multiples times for lunch during the week and once for a birthday party at night. I have zero complaints. The food is always good and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The drinks are great.

Yelp
Can't comment on the experience when you're in the bar unfortunately. Called to make a booking for 6 people but was told we didn't need one. Showed up and were told that we couldn't go in without a booking despite it being a Monday night and the bar half empty.

Yelp
I stumbled across Lemon and Duke several months back and have become a regular since! Its only 10 seconds from Grafton st, yet you can almost always find a seat (for 1 or 2 ppl anyway) , even on a busy Saturday afternoon. The food is good (try their chicken wings!) and the staff are friendly and helpful ,and have even started to recognize me now :-) They also have outdoor seating and a great range of Beers.

Yelp
Nice place one block off of popular shopping area. Of course the Guinness was refreshing but the goat cheese salad was delicious! We also enjoyed a lamb enter which was quite good. This along with cheerful service made our evening.
