Yelp
We thought we would give this place a try because we saw that they had 4.5 out of 5 stars on their Yelp rating. Upon arrival, no one was in the parking lot. That should've been our sign, but we thought maybe it was just slow because it's a Tuesday. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and my husband ordered one of the Pad Thai type dishes with chicken. My son had the kids nuggets with rice. For an appetizer we ordered the fried dumplings. Soon after our waiter went to the back to put our order in, we heard the microwave chime and our fried dumplings quickly arrived at the table. They had clearly been microwaved as they were not crispy. They also were not homemade. They taste exactly like the ones that you can get in bulk at Costco.
Shortly thereafter, our entrées arrive. My son's chicken nuggets appeared to be homemade and came with a side of white rice and sweet-and-sour sauce. My entrée was yellow curry with chicken. Within the first three bites of my curry, I caught a piece of chicken on my spoon. I bit into it and it snapped like a raw piece of chicken and I spit it out immediately. I thought OK maybe it was just that one piece, but the next 2-3 pieces were exactly the same. I tried biting a corner piece of them, to see if they were done and they were all the exact same- barely cooked. As I am figuring out what to do, I look over at my husband, who takes a bite of his dish and immediately spits out a piece of chicken. He is having the same exact problem with his. We had to go get the attention of the person who we believe is the owner as he did not come back to the table after dropping off the food. I asked him to remake my curry dish without any meat and he did. My husband did not want anything replaced. He just wanted to leave. He clearly had barely eaten anything. The server/owner was kind the whole time, but he didn't apologize or offer anything for our bad experience.
My replacement yellow curry, with no protein, was more watery than the first go round. There was also some thick gel of some kind at the bottom of the bowl. There was a lot of flavor in that yellow curry, but there are barely any vegetables in the dish to speak of.
All in all, I give this place two stars because:
A) We saw him cleaning the tables with some kind of cleaning spray, so we presume that they keep things clean on a regular basis.
B) The yellow curry flavors were on point, mostly.
I'm still a bit shocked that we were charged full price for everything, particularly when my husband did not even eat his food. Also, as I am typing this, I'm starting to feel a little bit queasy. I'm not sure if it's because of the chicken or the fact that I was thinking about the chicken, but only time will tell. We will not be making a return visit. That I can guarantee.
