Where to Eat Nashville’s Best Thai Food | Eater Nashville

"This Thai staple in Bellevue has been going strong for several years, and with good reason — generous portions of creamy curries, filling noodles, light spring rolls, and their signature tray of sauces keep locals coming back for seconds and thirds. The tea menu is extensive, featuring soul-warming cups of chocolate hazelnut black tea, Moroccan mint green tea, and mango passionfruit." - Clara Wang

My husband and I went there for the first time. Clean restaurant and great atmosphere. The staff has been so friendly and nice. The food is high quality, so delicious and tasted SO good. I really recommend this place 👌

My wife and I shared 3 different appetizers and split 1 entree. Everything was really good and we were stuffed. Not overly busy and fast service. I would definitely go back.

Google
The food is high quality and better than most sushi places even in Nashville. You get a fancy presentation with delicious taste. The service was fast and spot on. For some reason they have done away with the nice tables and fancier atmosphere and put in booths.

Google
what a gem this place is. the lychee martini is as delicious as it is beautiful. and oh boy are they strong. the tuna tataki was fantastic, the spicy scallop handroll was phenomenal, and the cutie roll was refreshing and beautiful. I wish I had time to try more - this place was really such a great spot. service was impeccable.

My boyfriend and I tried this place tonight for the first time and oh my gosh. Thank goodness we chose this place. Their menu is vast and has so many yummy options. They have vegetarian options too which is a plus for me. We asked if the veggie sushi roll could be made “crunchy” and they did it so well! It was honestly the best sushi ever. My boyfriend (not a vegetarian) said “honestly, this is the best sushi roll I’ve ever tasted.” It was so soft, crunchy, and fresh! I got the Thai Basil Tofu and it was HEAVEN! The Jasmine rice is 100%. I’ve never had rice like that. My boyfriend got the Sesame Chicken and Lo Mein noodles and he was in awe! Absolutely delicious! You could smell the toasted sesame oil on the noodles! The presentation of both dishes was beautiful. I didn’t get a picture of mine but it was beautiful. We will definitely be back. The staff is very sweet and welcoming! Also, the service was very quick! The drive from Clarksville is totally worth it! You NEED to try this food!

Google
Neither one of us could eat our food. Both ordered the curry special for lunch and ordered a 2 for spiciness. It was sooo unbelievably spicy and the flavor was also just hot and not enjoyable. I expect waiters/waitresses to kind of see what is happening but he didn't and we just paid and went on our way. I hate to be that person that says the food is bad (but yes we could've said something also). A large table next to us about 10 people, several also were saying they couldn't eat it because of how spicy it is. Chef should taste it before it goes out.

Google
A lovely restaurant with amazingly quick service and delicious food We got the pad kha soup with tofu , cucumber rolls and pad thai deluxe . All the dishes were fresh and the portion size was good . Special shout out to the beautiful Christmas trees they have set up inside the restaurant. It looks beautiful. Highly recommend this place

Yelp
After trying lemongrass again, I have completely changed my opinion. I am positive I had just experienced an off day. Now, I can say this is one of my favorite Thai spots. I have tried other Tom Khas and Chicken Larb in and around Nashville and none really compare to this place. They have perfected the flavors and there is a reason this place got a face lift. People love this spot. They serve their food with love and care. The servers here are all very sweet. I personally love and can recommend any of their noodle dishes along with the starters mentioned above. Anytime my friends order sushi they are also happy with their food.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Lemongrass sight unseen because we were told they were a "great Thai restaurant." As soon as we were seated we realized they had a sushi prep counter, which was a bad omen. I'm of the opinion that if a restaurant offers food from multiple cultures on one continent, it usually means said restaurant is pandering to the lowest common denominator. In the case of Lemongrass, this theory 100% holds up. The food was inauthentic and bland. I felt like I was eating a Lean Cuisine or at a mall food court. I am a person who usually clears his plate and always gets a to go box when I do not, but I made it half way through my meal before I had simply lost interest in eating. My wife and I both left half of each of meals uneaten. I will say the one silver lining of this restaurant is their customer service. They were friendly, professional and attentive. Very nice people.

Yelp
Exceptional service and excellent food! The sushi was perfect but the basil duck curry was the highlight!

Yelp
Loved this place! My 1 year old was a bit fussy and the staff was so kind and offered her orange slices right away! The service was quick and food was good. My daughter got California rolls and potstickers- pretty straight forward and good. My husband got Drunken Noodles with Beef and loved it! The portion could feed 2 people easily. I forgot which sushi roll I got, however wanted ti say they are a good portion size for the price. Overall, the Japanese/Thai options are nice to have. I'd come here again to try more dishes.

Yelp
Portions were huge! The fried rice had large bites of crab mixed in and the perfect amount of veggies. The martini was sweet and strong. Service was great!

Yelp
buyer beware, is a different lemongrass now. Seems maybe they've been bought out.. Prices went up two dollars per sushi roll. And the best sushi maker there is leaving. Most of the staff have left. They're going to Whitebridge Road lemongrass, which will now have sushi so go there, don't go to the one in Bellevue. i've been going there for years and when I order a meal, I do get a complementary miso, which is not expected, but really a nice way to treat your customers , they charged me for that tonight and I just got an iced coffee which I couldn't even drink as it was sooo sweet. I did not complain, but he (server) did not even ask. He saw a full glass of iced coffee. With a sip out... Was there something wrong with that, don't go to Bellevue, go to White Bridge Road. I don't mind paying more. But I expect the same service. And I know without my sushi guy there and the manager that was always there. She's gone too. It's just going down hill. And as a customer that comes in about twice a week, that's why I got threatened to me so soup from time to time this new management, owners are gonna lose clientele, cause I am going to spread the word.

Yelp
Very disappointing experience. I went in to this restaurant on Friday night at dinner time to pick up the order I had placed online. There were about three orders to go on the counter, and there were four tables with customers. I ordered the Spring Rolls for $4.50, Bellevue Thai Fried Rice for $13.95, and the Pad Thai for $14.95. I also included a 10% tip. Excluding tax, my total came to $36.74. My critique, including their description of each dish which I copied and pasted, follows. 1. Spring Rolls - Crispy Spring Rolls filled with shredded vegetables, bean thread noodles, and deep fried served with our sweet & sour house sauce. The two small spring rolls were so thoroughly greasy as to be inedible. They tasted frozen, because they were small and very uniform looking and had absorbed so much of the grease as frozen food tends to do when you deep fry it. I don't know for sure. But the level of greasiness was untenable. Yuck. 2. Bellevue Thai Fried Rice - Fried rice with eggs, your choice of meat, onions, basil, and bell peppers. The first thing I noticed was there was no sauce at all. I've never had food from a Thai restaurant that didn't have either some sauce on the food or some in the bottom of the dish. There were no eggs. And probably two small slivers of onion and two or three small slivers of Bell Peppers. The bulk of the meal was rice. It was dry because there was no sauce. And I've never had fried rice ever without scrambled eggs mixed throughout. Disappointing. 3. Pad Thai - The popular Noodles Lover Dish, stir-fried with thin rice noodles in brown sweet & sour sauce, along with eggs, bean sprouts, crushed peanuts on the side and top with green onions. Again, no sauce although it is specifically mentioned in the description. There were two small flakes of eggs. There also was not one sliver of a green onion to be found. The bulk of the meal was the rice noodles. One of my complaints besides the fact that aesthetically it's not very pleasing is when the pieces of meat are not cut relatively small. They should be bite-sized, because you're not going to be using a knife on it. I couldn't eat the pieces of chicken without cutting them up with a knife and fork because they were so large. It's not just for ease of eating the meal. It just doesn't look pretty. I don't write many negative reviews but after paying what I did with a 10% tip added, I wasn't going to let this one slide. I not only hope that future customers are aware of these issues, but honestly? Most of all, I hope the owner reads my review and steps up their game. It wouldn't take much to make all these dishes much better tasting (and visually appealing) than they currently are.

Yelp
We are obsessed with Lemongrass!!! Their pad that, parang curry, and all sushi's are 10 out of 10. Cannot recommend enough for takeout or sit down. The staff is so warm and welcoming and always goes above and beyond. Oh and try the spicy edamame

Yelp
Cutest little restaurant with absolutely delicious, flavorful food! It's small, quaint and we didn't have to wait for a table! I don't think they take reservations? Perfect meal before seeing The Little River band at the symphony. Easy parking and we left our car in the parking lot, took a Uber to the symphany, came back to pick up the car without any hassle! The Old Fashion drink was not good and the service was slow but the good food made up for these flaws. The prices are good and the portions nice. Definitely will go back!

Yelp
The food is fresh and the service is fast. It's not expensive which is also great. They also have a sushi menu.

Yelp
I really liked dining here by myself... It's such a quiet and clean environment, with white table cloths and candles on each table... The food was delicious, and the presentation when it was delivered was impressive... No complaint at all about them serving such large portions...Just plan on taking some home or sharing while you're there... The inly reason it didn't get 5 stars is because i had to hunt down my waitress several times because she wasn't waiting on me... I required several refills of water, eating that kind of food... And, i needed a few other things... They kind of made me feel like i was out of line requesting things because they kind of had an attitude when i did... I have to travel out of my normal range to get here, but it's worth the trip... I'll contjnie to dine here time and tome again, just wish service was with a smile... To add, the mints you get with the check are so good... I even went online to see if I could purchase them in bulk, and I sure can.

Connie S.

Yelp
I've been eating here for years and I do not know if it's new owners but the service yesterday was bad, the dish with shrimp and cold clumpy white riced was inedible. I asked for hot green tea and got it at the end of the Meal. The cost was $31 and I'll never go back. So disappointed.

Yelp
Giving it a two but only purchased a gift card for someone that loves this place. All the teas I ordered they were out of stock. Didn't order food because I was by myself and it was a weird sitting arrangement inside. Very very slow service. Someone walked in that the all the workers seemed to know and all of the attention went to that one person. Four ladies walked in and had to seat themselves. Water was no ice and warm, bad looking lemon on top. Won't be returning.

Yelp
Good Thai tea. Like the food and newly renovated. Good service and not overly crowded.

Yelp
Incredible service and wonderful dining experience! Highly recommend coming here to celebrate a special occasion. Even with such a big party, the food came out pretty quickly. My friend celebrated his birthday here and we had a table of 12. Lemongrass Sushi & Thai was incredibly accommodating with the table reservation, they even had holiday and birthday napkins for our table. They kindly stored a cake for us with NO cake fee (you'd be surprised how many restaurants charge a cake fee) and when they brought of the cake, they turned the Happy Birthday song on in the entire restaurant. The owner and waiters all came over to sing and wish my friend a happy birthday. They are known for their fried Bellevue Sushi roll and almost everyone at the table got it. It was phenomenal. Stuffed roll. Beef drunken noodles were great and flavorful. Tom kha lemongrass soup was very creamy and good portions of protein.

Yelp
New set up, food was delicious. I had level 2 pad Thai, delicious and alot of food although it doesn't look it. The sushi was also delicious. Thai tea is a must try if you never have. Good ambiance good service.

Yelp
Had an awesome dinner this evening at Lemongrass. The service was so fast and incredible. They all work as a team which is awesome to see. The music was modern songs with smooth jazz covers, and the restaurant was super clean. We ordered all the Thai simple classics! Spring rolls, the pineapple fried rice with chicken, the Tsunami roll, and a California with masago, Thai Tea and a Jasmine Green Tea Pot. Everything was super fresh and delicious. We will 100% be back.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is exceptional. I don't know why this restaurant has a lot of bad reviews. Are the bad reviewers that self-absorbed? Like everything is all me and I can't wait kind of people. I was afraid to come in at first because of bad reviews. Overall, I had a great experience. Drunken noodle had a good flavor. Salmon roll was very fresh! Oh! I got greeted right away when I entered the restaurant. Restaurant is very clean and nice as well. Don't let the bad reviews scare you
google avatar

Yelp
I wouldn't go here for the sushi but their other food is great. Very kind and attentive staff. Great curry. Don't recommend the orange chicken if you're used to a typical Panda style it's nothing like that. Tasty but different.

Robin M.

Yelp
Another great dinner at lemongrass!!! Quick service, lovely staff- yummy sushi & pad Thai! 911 roll is hot- but worth it. Thai ice tea is SWEET !!!!!

Yelp
This is still the best place in Bellevue for lunch. I come here weekly and am never disappointed with the flavors, portions, or value. Their curries are still some of the best in Nashville. Give it a try when on the west side.

Katie H.

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in Bellevue!!! Huge menu and great select newly renovated and nice and clean

Nolan W.

Yelp
The best japanese food in the area! I popped by for lunch and was surprised by just how great everything was. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice vibe to it. My waitress was very helpful, and everything came out in a timely manner. Both my sushi roll and the shrimp tempura I ordered were spectacular! I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid spot to eat.
google avatar

Gayle P.

Yelp
They really try hard to serve you well and most of the food is pretty good. They have really upgraded the restaurant which is nice. I think they're a bit over priced though.
google avatar

Yelp
Lemongrass is my absolute favorite sushi spot in Nashville! The Lemongrass Mafia roll is the most mouthwatering sushi roll I've ever had and the Pad Thai is incredible. The service is always quick and spot on, and the staff are some of the kindest people I've ever met. I've watched this restaurant change the layout and vibe several times, and it just keeps getting better and better.

Jesus Eduardo C.

Yelp
I came in and the manager (a girl) was the rudest. Today I went in to have dinner at 9:08pm they closed a t 10pm on Saturdays. It me of the servers was going to sit me down and she comes out and told us want did we want, and I said a table for 2 than she was like no you can order to go or we have the last called right now, or you can order and eat fast. I was like you gush close at 10pm she didn't care she insisted to get a to go order. Not coming here ever again. I just moved here and was craving for sushi. But I had the same experiences last time I came here. I DONT RECOMMEND IT!

David G.

Yelp
A friend and I had dinner last night (5:00 PM, 8/26/23) at the Bellevue location. It had been nearly a year since my last visit and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the interior had been completely decorated. My guess is that the restaurant is under new ownership/management. After being seated, our waiter followed soon after to take our drink order. I got water and my friend a daiquiri which he seemed to enjoy. The menu is extensive and covers a broad range of Asian cuisine. I didn't read the entire menu so I would guess there are other foods available besides Asian. When trying out a new Thai restaurant, I always stick with my old standby, chicken pad Thai. My friend ordered a curry dish. Our food was served sooner than I expected and was attractively presented. The portions were generous, but not overly so. My chicken pad Thai was excellent! The requisite lime wedges and chopped peanuts were provided as well as bean sprouts and an attractive orange/parsley garnish. The chicken was tender and the sauce was right on target. The noodles were cooked perfectly and were not stuck together. All in all, I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back for another visit. My friend commented that his curry dish was very good (he ate everything.) All in all, I think this restaurant deserves five stars!

Grace M.

Yelp
I always come here with my mom and we have loved it always. Not only is the Sushi great, but the GREEN CURRY!!!! 5 stars. The food comes out so quickly too.

Lakayla M.

Yelp
Very nasty. If you have Georgia taste buds, nothing on this menu will satisfy your cravings. They also served my mom raw chicken so I was extremely angry. They wanted to remake it instead of a refund because the manager wasn't there so they could only remake it or come back the next day; we declined so they wanted to keep the raw chicken dish there overnight for whatever reason. We came back the next day for the refund and everyone acted like it was the end of the world. I will not be back.

B V.

Yelp
Fantastic! The food is delicious and the staff quite friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!

Eric O.

Yelp
The sushi is average at best, inedible at worst. I've had better sushi from the grocery store. With that said, the Thai offerings are really well done. Pad Thai, Thai fried rice, and satay were all delicious. The service was not great, but not bad enough where it detracted from the experience. Really low booths made sitting for awhile a bit uncomfortable. Don't order the sushi, and I think you'll be happy.
google avatar

Raymond D.

Yelp
Fridays visit was quite strange, we ordered edamame as an appetizer, and two other dishes for our meal, of course this was after entering our drink order, the first item that came to the table was my wife's entree, the second item was our drinks, the third was my entree, the last was the edamame. In addition to the crazy service was the listless server who seemed to resent having to be there. Except for the chicken lettuce wraps having cold chicken everything else was okay. This place has been here a long time, I guess cause it's the only game around.

Tracy P.

Yelp
It's merely my personal opinion that the food at Lemongrass Sushi & Thai does not taste nearly as good as other Thai restaurants in town.

Lukas L.

Yelp
10/10 best sushi and Thai place I've ever been to!! The food was pretty good not amazing but pretty good 8/10 especially for its price! Our server was kind and patient even though we were taking our time in ordering and gave us the food promptly out and hot and fresh! Great portions as well. The atmosphere/ambiance was great and really matched the restaurant even though it's not in the best area. Overall this place is one for the books especially for hs and college students who can't afford too expensive of meals.
google avatar

Savannah A.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Best restaurant in Bellevue, maybe in Nashville!! Always friendly service and delicious fresh food. Can't wait to see what the new remodel looks like!
google avatar

Catherine R.

Yelp
Every time Ive gone to Lemongrass its been over-the-top delicious . Fresh, bright ingredients cooked to perfection and spiced to order. plus the restaurant is sparkling clean and the staff are pleasant and efficient.

Yelp
Not going back for sure.. business need some Friendly people to treat their customers.so rude that lady ask us did you remove reserved badge from the table to seat there?? Come on... lady !!!we just followed one of your employee.she asked us to seat there.the tone was so rude that people were looking at us to take some action about this rudeness.we were with kids and I don't want to ruin their outing. One more thing on busy week end they don't hv fresh food to serve.. once we went there on week days food wasn't fresh.. so thought ok weekday's aren't busy so let's try on week end. With the first bite of tofu you can tell it was stale.. my 4 year old even stop at one bite said it's tested not good. Our honorable server told us that he talked to chef and he said nothing wrong with it. It's just not crunchy as we never tested tofu before in our life. Come on at least accept your mistakes.our server asked if we needed new dishes.. no we are not there for free food.. we just wanted to acknowledge that yes this is something wrong and we will try to fix it.

Kayla S.

Yelp
I really want to like this place, I do. But after eating here several times, I can safely say I refuse to go back. Everything is priced far too high for what it is! I ordered orange chicken and what I got was fried dry pieces of chicken with orange sauce on the side. The presentation was over the top and really I just wanted some decent food. Could have gone to Panda Express for cheaper.
google avatar

Carly M.

Yelp
The food is delicious, the restaurant is beautiful, and the portion sizes are huge! I have become obsessed with everything I have tasted! I especially enjoy the Massaman curry and the Tom Kha Gai. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Not only is the food amazing but the customer service is impeccable. You can tell they truly care about the food they produce and want to make sure their customers are satisfied.

Yelp
Horrible service and horrible food!!! Mean horrible staff. Does that paint a clear picture.

Yelp
This has been our go to place for sushi in the Bellevue area... January 25th my daughter and I stopped in to place a to-go order. The manager, Tom (or so he said he was the manager) was so rude and disrespectful. He stated that the order will take 20 minutes well 40 minutes later he stated that our food will be ready when it is ready. He then proceeded to ask me if I wanted to cancel my order. I stated He did not want to go and check on the food. The restaurant was not crowded at the time and I was the only one at counter. After asking several times for the managers name he finally just gave me a name. I am not sure if that is the manager or not. After this encounter we will find another sushi joint.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Fresh fish! Great service! Beautiful space filled with lovely flowers. What more can ya ask for?

Yelp
We are thankful to have Lemongrass in our neighborhood. We get takeout from here at least once a week! They have a variety of excellent options ranging from classic Thai dishes such as pad Thai and panang curry to sushi. It's by far our favorite sushi in Bellevue. On our most recent order we had the sushi regular, crunchy shrimp roll, and crunchy crab roll. We also ordered fried veggie spring rolls and salads with ginger dressing. They have great miso soup to go as well. Ordering on their website is super easy and there is tons of parking for easy pick up. Definitely add this to your list when you are craving sushi!
google avatar

The T.

Yelp
Our go-to option for Thai food. The food is always delicious and presented in a very professional way. Also have a great variety of warm tea choices.

Yelp
I wanted to take a picture of this beautiful food, but I ate it too quick because it was SO GOOD. People people... go to Lemongrass! I live right up the road so it's super convenient and never thought twice if it when I pass it. Well last night a friend came over and we wanted Thai takeout so I suggested it knowing it was close. I am ashamed this was my first time trying it having lived so close for 2 years. I got the Panang curry with chicken and my friend ordered the Pad See Ew. They have 5 spice levels you can order, which is fantastic, so it's catered to what you want. The level 5 Thai hot comes with a disclaimer which really makes me want to attempt that one day... but this time I ordered the level 3 (hot). Perfect! Had spice but not overly hot by any means (note: I love spicy!). Chicken cooked perfect, loved the crunch of carrots and peppers, and that curry sauce over the rice is what dreams are made of. We also shared the spring rolls as an app, which had great crunch and balance of fresh veggies to counter the fact it's deep fried. You have a customer for life. Next up for me, trying every other curry, then delving into the rest of the menu!

Minda B.

Yelp
The food is good. But their servers need to be educated that you NEVER remove anyone's assistive device. Our server was sweet and good, but you can't take someones rollator away. In the event of an emergency, they can't walk without it. Giving them time to educate the staff before I call the FIRE MARSHALL!

Yelp
The reviews honestly don't justify this place enough. I had nothing but an exceptional experience and felt from beginning to finish that the sushi and service were wonderful. This is the perfect date spot to come when you want to make a good impression. I visited with my friend. I can't speak on the Thai food, but I can vouch that the sushi was wonderful. I think the creative rolls that they had are really what carried this experience. There is literally every type of roll you can think of that could fit any pallette. There is definitely not a limit in their options for you to choose from. Call me pertentious, but !personally, I feel this is the type of place where you wear a dress or a nice button-down for a date night. I think it's kind of sucky that anybody can just walk in here wearing anything without much regard. But, you have to keep in mind that they are in a stripmall in Bellevue. Pricing wise I think they are relatively on point for the area. I feel if you were to put this place in West End, they could charge several dollars more than what they do. I think their alcoholic beverages might be priced on city pricing versus suburbs pricing if that makes sense. Covid-19 wise, they are diligent to have a clean and healthy space. I came here on a Monday so I can't very much vouch for what it might be if it would be a weekend evening. What I can tell you from what I noticed is that everyone were wearing masks and acting within the appropriate guidelines that made me feel comfortable enough to dine in this restaurant. Chefs and severs wore their masks appropriately. I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Service is always great! Food is delicious and consistent! Relaxed environment perfect for a evening out or just to grab a bite.

Yelp
To be honest, I was expecting such a lovely meal when we ordered from Lemongrass Thai. The spice was fantastic, pad Thai had a copious amount of toppings, noodles were sauced, spring rolls crunchy. In fact, we have been raving about it ever since! Kudos !!

Yelp
Good food but awful service and very rude. Two tables were seated after us and both got served and ordered before us. When I asked the server they were very cold and angry about it, like it was our fault. Ha!
