The 17 Best Pizzas In London - London - The Infatuation

"In Lenny’s Apizza, London has its first New Haven obsessive. This style is thin and crispy, with a particular focus on a scalded burnt crust. The tiny kitchen inside this north London pub does an excellent interpretation. You’ll find it inside The Bedford Arms, an unpretentious, dark but airy boozer on Seven Sisters Road that serves lager-sinking regulars as well as it does pizza-lovers. If you’re after a real taste of New Haven, get the potato pie. It’s a cheese and rosemary, carb-on-carb delight." - rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna

Lenny's Apizza is London's first New Haven-style specialist - Review - London - The Infatuation

"London’s obsession with pizza styles knows no bounds, and in Lenny’s Apizza we have a committed New Haven aficionado. This little kitchen inside The Bedford Tavern on Seven Sisters Road is something of a love letter to places like Sally’s and Frank Pepe in the States. Only, here, you can get a pint of Guinness on tap too. The setup is your standard roomy boozer. Locals at the bar, lagers in a booth, but also families here for apizza. These pies are thin and crispy, sliced into easily wolfable slivers that barely touch the sides. The classic cheese and tomato leans heavily on elastic mozz and, once cooled, has a nostalgically lovely air of Pizza GoGo about it (which is very much a compliment). But really, it’s all about the crust. When bubbled, scorched, and black—this crust is excellent. Toppings like onion, sausage, and a sprinkle of parm and chilli are welcome and, if you’re looking for a real taste of New Haven, get the white potato pie. It’s like a tarte flambée by way of Connecticut, in N7. Food Rundown photo credit: Emily Hai Cheese & Tomato Pie Singed at the crust and bubbling in the middle, this apizza is at its best when it’s borderline burnt. The layer of sauce is thin, so don’t expect anything too tomato-y here. These pies are about the dough and the crust more than anything. photo credit: Emily Hai Handsome Dan's Potato Pie This homage to a classic New Haven pie may surprise a few pizza traditionalists, but this is about as pure apizza as you can get. A cheese base with whisper-thin potato slices, onion, and pecorino, as well some welcome whacks of rosemary. photo credit: Emily Hai The Sausage & Onion Pie Unlike the classic cheese and tomato, the sausage number leans a little heavier on sauce. And it’s very good. The combination of just-burnt, thinly sliced onion, herby sausage, and a sprinkle of chilli from the shaker is an excellent one." - Jake Missing

Heard the hype about this pizza, and it was not wrong!! Everything about this pizza was spot on and so tasty, it was one of the best pizzas hitting the London scene right now. Whatever they are doing is amazing! Loved every bite! I’ve tried all the London pizza scene and this was top! The chef/owner max is lovely and super friendly and while we were there popped out to say hi to everyone and get feedback! I highly recommend this place! I’ll def be coming back!

I have never been to New Haven, but I imagine this is exactly what the vibes and pizza is like. From all the videos I have seen, this is exactly it. The charring on the pizza was absolutely next level, brown, but not burnt. No flop either. The tomato pie had just a bit too much pecorino, but maybe that comes down to personal preference, the cheese and tomato was spot on. A few chilli flakes and it was wonderful.

Think this may be the best pizza in London. The cheese and tomato sauce were so tasty in its own but really recommend the ray santiago. The pizzas are huge so come hungry (they have takeaway boxes for leftovers). For the quality and size the price is really good. The pub itself is lovely too, worth a visit on its own.

The pizza place is into the pub at the corner. It's really nice, pizza. I've never had that pizza style before. All three that we had were very tasty. The service was excellent, very helpful and friendly. The size of pizza is quite big, even for a share. Definitely, I'll go again and I recommend it

Categorically the best pizza I have ever laid my gnashers on. Honestly the tomato pie is so simple and so so so good I need this guy to clone himself and open a shop in every single place everywhere, someone give this guy keys to the city, he deserves some kind of award.

I was excited to find a joint near me doing New Haven style pizza. Great change from the boring Napolitan style, however being pedantic dough was crispy but super dry with no lightness. I chose the Lenny Special - half cheese, half tomato - of which the tomato was great, cheese a little greasy and maybe overcooked....3/5 is just right

Best Pizza spot in London. This stuff is the real deal. A great place with a small but special menu (which is a very good thing), solid drinks selection and unreal vibes from all the staff.

The pizza was good, had an intense smokey flavour and crispy crust, but the dough was too chewy for me. The venue really sets the scene.
