Having seen good reviews, I tried Lenny's twice during a recent visit to the area. If I lived in the area, it would probably be in my rotation of restaurants.
On both visits, both the parking lot and restaurant were packed. It seems to be the norm, as the friendly staff did not seem fazed by the throngs of customers. On both visits, my party and I experienced great service.
Don't worry that someone in your party won't find something to their liking. The menu is as packed with choices as their dining room is packed with patrons. On both visits, I found it difficult to choose my meal, as everything sounds good.
On my first visit, I picked an omelette with American fries and a side of tomato slices. The eggs were good, not remarkable. The hollandaise sauce was without real flavor. The fried potatoes were good. What blew me and my dining partners away was the individual baskets of pastries. The bottomless coffee and the pastry basket alone would have been filling; I didn't really need to eat the rest of the day.
On my second visit, I noticed all of the memorabilia on the walls. When a place is good and has been around for a long time, it has a chance to have been visited by many interesting people.
My second meal was the Reuben sandwich. If for no other reason, I'd return for another sandwich! The meat was piled high and the rest of the sandwich exemplified everything I want when I order a Reuben. My mouth waters as I think of it.
If you want breakfast or lunch, don't be leery of giving Lenny's a visit.
